Pantera Petroleum Updates Drilling Progress on Block 83 84 Project
AUSTIN, TX –June 2, 2008– Pantera Petroleum (OTC BB: PTPE, Frankfurt: 4PP) is pleased to announce that its Sibley 84 #1 re‐entry well drilling is on schedule for completion to resume commercial production of natural gas, having reached a drill depth of approximately 18,300 feet after clearing eleven of its twelve concrete plugs on the way to 22,20 feet. Located on 1280 acres in the prolific West Gomez Field in Texas, the Block 83 84 Project JV (“Block 83 84”) consists of two re‐entry wells, the Sibley 84 #1 and Gulf‐Baker 83 #1, and one infill, shallow depth oil drill (Sibley 84 #2).
Stratco Operating Company (“Stratco”), our operating partner in the project, began the re‐entry phase of Block 83 84 on April 1, 2008. The drilling rig was mobilized to location on Sibley 84 #1 along with the pump, water tanks, pipe racks and drilling string. Throughout April and May, Stratco successfully drilled through the first eleven cement plugs, circulating out debris to a total depth of 18,300 feet. At that depth, Stratco encountered substantial gas pressure which caused a closure of the blowout preventers. With the experience and expertise working on location, Stratco and Atlas Well Service were able to control the well and continue operations on schedule. This was a very exciting occurrence and gave a significant indication of this well’s potential production.
We are currently at one of our last milestones to completing the Sibley 84 #1. Once Stratco mills the remaining bridge plug and the last concrete plug, it will finish circulating out the well and complete it to its depth of approximately 22,820 feet. The well will be logged, and the new data will be correlated with the well’s historical data to determine the zones and depths to be perforated to resue commercial production of natural gas.
Upon completion of the Sibley 84#1, Stratco will re‐enter a second well, the Gulf‐Baker 83 #1. The infill drill, the Sibley 84 #2, is a shallow oil drill of roughly 4000 feet that will be completed soon thereafter. The primary objectives of Block 83 84 are the Ellenberger, Fusselman, Devonian, Upper and Lower Wolfcamp, Atoka and Yates 7 Rivers sands. The West Gomez Field has produced in excess of 5 TCF of natural gas over the past 40 years, and wells in this field have produced or booked remarkable reserves out of these horizon intervals. Block 83 84 can potentially produce 6.5 million cubic feet of gas per day from its two re‐entry wells, along with 80 or more barrels of oil per day from the Sibley 84 #2. Based on published production data and geological and engineering calculations, recoverable reserves in the Block 83 84 Project are estimated to be more than 27 BCF of gas and 50,000 barrels of oil, of which Pantera has a 10% working interest.
“We are very pleased to be on schedule to re‐commence the commercial production of natural gas on our first re‐entry well in the near term, and we look forward to our additional wells to follow. We expect the next several weeks and months to be very
exciting ones for our company and our shareholders as we bring the Block 83 84 wells back online and into production.”, states Pantera Petroleum’s CEO, Chris Metcalf.

Cheers.

US EMBASSY DENIES THE EXISTENCE OF BUSH LANDHOLDINGS IN PARAGUAY
The Chaco takes up about 60% of Paraguay and has less than 3% of the population. It is desolate and beyond what we think of as backward or "civilized." It is in this vast and remote region-- no towns, no roads, people don't even speak Spanish here-- that Bush is rumored to have bought his gigantic estate. When rumors first started surfacing about it people assumed he would be using it as a backup in case he had to escape the war crimes charges that could well come after he is out of office. In Latin America the suspicion is that he was making a play for the area's huge acquifer which is said to be more valuable than an oil field, at least for those who think in terms of generations when doing their financial planning. That the two Bush daughters have been down here a few times has added fuel to the fire. I reported the rumors at Down With Tyranny but I wasn't certain it was actually true, even after reading quotes from the governor of the province and other Paraguayan public officials.
Since I got to Paraguay I've been trying to track down the ranch-- with no luck. Some people swear it is true--as did the Paraguayan consul in the U.S. I had spoken to-- and some say it is just a fake rumor. In any case, everyone agrees it would be virtually impossible to find out for sure because the region is so vast and remote. The desk clerk at the Sheraton suggested I hire a private plane to find it since there aren't even roads, let alone buses.
Yesterday I called the U.S. Embassy and had a long, friendly chat with a diplomat. He doesn't seem too enamoured of Paraguay, although he reckons it's better than Pakistan. He complained that Asuncion is remote and cut off from the rest of the world. He also said that they checked and that there is no Bush ranch and no secret U.S. military base. Of course if it were secret, he would hardly be advertising its existence. He suggested I read a State Department statement about both. The official U.S. line is that the Bush ranch is some Cuban disinformation propogated by Prensa Latina.
People tend not to believe anything diplomats say that serve the national interests they represent. Under Bush the credibility of the U.S. State Department has fallen to new lows. Their claims are utterly worthless. That doesn't prove that there is a Bush ranch, however. Is it possible that the daughters were here because one of them works for UNICEF? I doubt it. And even the diplomat admitted to me that she was up in the Chaco visiting backward Menonite communities. It doesn't add up.
I spoke to the wife of a Brazilian general who told me that the base is real and that the ranch has been "100% confirmed" by the Brazilian military intelligence. Is she a good source? She has less reason to lie than the U.S. State Department.
I don't think there's much more I can find out about this whole thing from here. I keep reminding myself I'm on vacation and that I need to get to Tierra del Fuego. I'm going to take a bus to Encarnacion on the Argentine border, cross over to Posadas, the capital of Missiones Province and sniff out the possibilities of going down to Esterios de Iberrà in Corrientes. This is supposed to be the Western Hemisphere's version of the Serengeti. It is a vast, sparcely populated swamp. I don't know what's wrong with me.

Servus,

Rakete

Werds mal interessehalber weiter
beobachten.

Was macht denn George W. Bush in Paraguay?

Pantera Petroleum Inc.:
WKN: A0NACC
ISIN: US69866L1017
Börsen: Frankfurt, Berlin
akt. Kurs: 0,342 € *
Kursziel: 0,60 €
Chance: 75%
Rating: spekulativ kaufen !!
* Kurs vom 11.03.08, 21:00 Uhr (MESZ)

Pantera Petroleum’s Active Acquisition and Drilling Program Strongly Reiterate
BUY Rating and $6.84 to $8.84 Target Valuation Range, According to Cohen
Independent Research Group
AUSTIN, TX – March 26, 2008 – In a research update dated March 15, 2008, Paul
Cohen, President of Cohen Independent Research Group, has reiterated his “BUY” rating
with a 12-18 month base case price target range of $6.84 to $8.84 for Pantera Petroleum
(OTC BB: PTPE, Frankfurt: 4PP), based upon net asset valuation and discounted cash
flow analysis. Cohen cites multiple positives in his BUY recommendation: Pantera’s
acquisition of the Block 83 84 Project in the West Gomez field, progress on the seismic
reprocessing in its Chaco Basin concessions in Paraguay, the recent reduction in shares
outstanding, and the addition of Scott Tyson to the Board of Directors. The report update
can be downloaded by going to Cohen Research’s website www.cohenresearch.com or
by directly using the following link:
http://www.cohenresearch.com/reports/ptpe_update_03-15-08.pd…
Citing the Block 83 84 estimated recoverable reserves of more than 27 BCF gas and
50,000 barrels of oil (worth roughly $250 million based on current oil and gas prices) and
its potential to produce 6,500 MCFGPD and 80 BOPD or greater, Paul Cohen states,
“Pantera Petroleum’s recent acquisition of its 10% stake in one of the most productive
gas plays in the world, with immediate production prospects, will accelerate the
Company’s transition from a development to growth stage organization with rapidly
increasing revenue generation. Based on the project’s reserves and projected daily output
with the steep growth in oil prices, this acquisition is likely to generate 20 times return on
investment, reaffirming our belief in the Company’s low-risk high-return philosophy.
This coupled with the significant untapped reserves in Paraguay, which has potential
reserves of 1.1 billion barrels of oil worth roughly $121 billion (based on current prices)
strengthens our upside outlook on Pantera’s common stock. ”
Paul Cohen further adds “Pantera is continuing to add personnel and expertise to
accomplish its goals. The Company’s experienced management team has been further
strengthened by the addition of J. Scott Tyson, which will enable Pantera to take
advantage of the immense opportunity presented by the unexplored Chaco Basin and
growth in the U.S. market to generate exponential revenues in the near future.” “Mr.
Tyson brings vast operational experience across the exploration and production value
chain” with his “knowledge and hands on experience will help Pantera in developing its
U.S. market prospects.”
Cohen further cites the recent share block cancellation of 27 million shares as having
positive impact for shareholder value, stating, “As a result, Pantera now has 91.1 million
shares outstanding, which is significantly less than the 116.4 million shares, prior to this
share block cancellation. Investors should be aware of this positive development.”
Paul Cohen concludes: “The Company’s recent acquisition of its 10% working interest in
the Block 83-84 Project in the West Gomez field in Texas will enable it to rapidly
transition to revenue generation while further exploring the large potential in Paraguay.
This approach - combining lower risk, cash flow properties in the U.S. with one of the
largest onshore exploration plays left in the world today – should appeal to investors who
want lower risk while also wanting huge upside potential. Pantera is executing its
strategy well, and the Company is actively researching and negotiating possible
additional U.S. acquisitions while it further explores drilling on its concessions in South
America. With its recent acquisition in Texas with near term production, increasingly
attractive prospects in Paraguay, and an active acquisition program, Pantera is in an ideal
position to benefit from the projected continuation of high demand and high prices in the
oil and gas industry. Based upon our projections, Pantera Petroleum is significantly
undervalued; and the current pullback in the stock price coupled with the recent
cancellation of shares outstanding offers investors an excellent buying opportunity
today.”
Commenting on the report, Chris Metcalf, CEO of Pantera, states: “We are making daily
progress to enhance shareholder value, and it is pleasing for a third party to recognize our
under-valuation, especially given the quality of our properties and the record levels of oil
prices. As a U.S. company, our mission is to discover and produce oil and gas to provide
our investors with a superior return while also helping return the U.S. economy to
strength and energy security. We feel strongly that we are executing the right strategy
with the right assets at the right time, and we can make a difference to U.S. energy
supply. We continue to be very excited about our plans and the future.”
