Hallo Leute!

Die Great Eagle bewegt sich seit einigen Tagen in starkem Aufwind. So konnte der Kurs in Hongkong um rund 50 % zulegen, ohne daß sich irgendwelche fundamentals verändert haben!? In Deutschland wurde dieser Kurs bisher nur andeutungsweise nachvollzogen. Gibt es News oder ähnliches?

The principal activities of the subsidiaries are property development, property investment, hotel and restaurant operations, trading of building materials, share investment, provision of management and maintenance services, property management, financing and insurance agency.

I have pleasure in presenting to Shareholders my report on the results and operations of Great Eagle Holdings Limited ("the Company") and its subsidiaries ("the Group") for the year ended 31st December, 1999. The audited consolidated net profit after taxation and minority interests of the Group for the year ended 31st December, 1999 amounted to HK$645,324,000, and the comparative figure for the fifteen months ended 31st December, 1998, taking into account of the change of financial year end date from 30th September to 31st December effective from the financial year commenced on 1st October, 1997, was HK$1,137,168,000. Earnings per share amounted to HK$1.18 (fifteen months ended 31st December, 1998: HK$2.11). In the comparative period, there were exceptional gains of HK$267,485,000 arising from the disposal of investment properties. Excluding the exceptional gains as aforementioned, the decrease in profit attributable to shareholders, as compared with the performance of the comparative period on a pro-rata basis, would have been approximately 7% only.

The Board has resolved to recommend to Shareholders at the forthcoming 2000 Annual General Meeting the payment of a final dividend of HK20 cents per share for the year ended 31st December, 1999 (fifteen months ended 1998: HK30 cents per share), to be satisfied by way of a scrip dividend with a cash option, to Shareholders whose names appear on the Register of Members on 15th June, 2000. Together with the interim dividend of HK10 cents per share paid on 19th October, 1999, on assumption that every Shareholder elects to receive all final dividend in cash, the total dividend for the full year will be HK30 cents per share (fifteen months ended 1998: HK45 cents per share), amounting to not less than HK$163,970,459 (fifteen months ended 1998: HK$245,865,581).

Subject to the approval of Shareholders at the 2000 AGM and the Listing Committee of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited granting listing of and permission to deal in the new shares to be allotted and issued pursuant to the proposed distribution of a scrip dividend mentioned herein, each Shareholder will be allotted fully-paid shares having an aggregate market value equal to the total amount which such Shareholder could elect to receive in cash and will be given the option to elect to receive payment partly or wholly in cash instead of the allotment of shares. Dividend warrants and share certificates in respect of the proposed dividend are expected to be despatched to Shareholders on or about 17th July, 2000. Full details of the scrip dividend will be set out in a letter to be sent to Shareholders together with a form of election for cash soon after the 2000 AGM.
