Habe grad folgendes von der WHO Homepage: aktuelle Zahlen: 125.993 Infizierte in 139 Ländern, 667 Tote16.07.2009 - Einen mächtigen Anstieg binnen der letzten 24-Stunden um 6.649 Neuinfektionen verzeichnen die offiziellen Statistikstellen der Welt. Auch die Zahl der Toten wurde um 78 Fälle hinauf korrigiert auf bereits 667 Fälle. In welchen Ländern wie viele Menschen infiziert sind, sehen Sie in unseren aktuellen Zahlen zur Schweinegrippe. Der dramatische Trend setzt sich vor allem gerade in Süd-Amerika fort, wo im Moment Winter ist. Die Grippe hat es bei den kühleren Temperaturen bedeutend leichter, sich auszubreiten. Mallorca-Urlauber droht Seuchenurlaub!!!! Schweine-Grippe bereitet sich rasant aus.



Palma de Mallorca. Der Ballerman als Ansteckungsherd für die Schweinegrippe? Es werden immer mehr Fälle bekannt, in denen Mallorca-Urlauber das Schweinegrippe-Virus aus dem Urlaub mit nach Hause brachten. Und die meisten von ihnen hatten am Ballermann kräftig mitgefeiert.

Die Nachricht schlug hohe Wellen: Auf der Sonneninsel Mallorca war in der vergangenen Woche eine Nigerianerin in einer Klinik in Palma de Mallorca an der Schweinegrippe gestorben. Die 33-Jährige ging im Urlaubsort Calvia der Prostitution nach. So dass auch ihre Kunden damit rechnen müssen, sich angesteckt zu haben.

Gemeinsames Sangria-Trinken mit dem Strohhalm, Klimaanlagen, enger Körperkontakt bei Strandparties und in Diskos – die Urlaubsinsel scheint sich zu einem potentiellen Ansteckungsort für die Schweinegrippe zu entwickeln. Innerhalb von einer Woche hat sich die Zahl der registrierten H1N1-Krankheitsfälle verdreifacht.

Ballermann als Virenherd
Schon länger gibt es den Verdacht, dass gerade in den Vergnügungsvierteln der Insel, zu denen die „Ballermann”-Meile Playa de Palma gehört, der Schweinegrippe-Virus besonders aktiv ist. Offiziell gibt es auf Mallorca 17 Infektionsfälle, acht auf Ibiza. Aber es ist mit einer hohen Dunkelziffer zu rechnen.

Derweil werden immer mehr Fälle von Mallorca-Urlaubern bekannt, die die Schweinegrippe mit nach Deutschland bringen. Deutsche Gesundheitsbehörden schätzen die Zahl der infizierten Rückkehrer auf über 100. Tendenz weiter steigend.

Von den Infizierten hatten sich die meisten offenbar an der Playa de Palma, im Umfeld der „Ballermann”-Szene, aufgehalten. Die Touristenhochburg Spanien ist das Land in Europa mit den meisten Schweinegrippe-Fällen. Vier Tote und über 1300 Kranke gibt es offiziell. 28 Schweinegrippe-Fälle melden die Kanarischen Inseln.

langsamer als bei AVI, hat meiner Meinung nach aber Substanz
und Luft nach oben.

haben, folgende News - die meiner Meinung nach extrem wichtig ist - an die internationalen Presse-Agenturen rauszugeben...
denn bislang taucht sie m.E. nur in chinesischen Medien auf:

Sinovac Provides Update on Clinical Trial for H1N1 Vaccine Trials / -H1N1 Vaccine Shows Good Safety Profile-

BEIJING, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Sinovac Biotech Ltd. (NYSE AMEX: SVA), a leading provider of vaccines in China, announced today that the clinical trial of its A/H1N1 influenza vaccine is proceeding well. All of the volunteers have received their first shot of the vaccine and, during the three-day observation of safety, the preliminary tests on the A/H1N1 influenza vaccine have indicated that the vaccine is safe and reliable in humans.

The clinical trial began on July 22, 2009 and a total of 1,614 volunteers, including 101 elders, 706 adults, 404 juvenile and 403 children, had received the first shot of the vaccine through July 25. During the three-day safety observation period, none of the volunteers participating in Sinovac's clinical tests exhibited any signs of severe adverse reactions. Total adverse event rate is 11.8%, which is similar to seasonal influenza vaccine. The adverse events were all mild and transient. The most common symptom is pain at the site of injection.

This clinical trial is organized by China's Center for Disease Control (CDC), and undertaken by Beijing CDC. The Ministry of Health (MOH) and State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) are paying great attention to this clinical trial. Deputy Director General of MOH Disease Control Department, Donglou Xiao, Director of SFDA Registration Section, Wei Zhang, and other relevant experts visited the clinical site to inspect the clinical study. In June 2009, Sinovac announced that the Ministry of Health had made an initial order of 4 million doses of Panflu, which is expected to be delivered by the end of September.

As usual, Sinovac's seasonal influenza vaccine has been released by China SFDA and officially launched to the market at the end of July 2009.

hast mich total mit Deiner Euphorie angesteckt! Das läuft ja super mit Deinen Voraussagen. Bin heute auch eingestiegen. Glaube das wird ein ganz großes Ding!
Ist meine erste Aktie. Hab vorher mit meinem Bankheini drüber gesprochen, aber der scheint sich nicht recht damit auszukennen - die konservative Sparkasse eben... Nachdem mich Deine Beiträge aber letztendlich doch überzeugt haben, konnte ich einfach nicht widerstehen, ebenfalls mein Glück zu versuchen. Also danke nochmal für Deine ausführlichen Beiträge.

Swine Flu Vaccine Created in China Safe, Xinhua Says (Update1)

Aug. 18 (Bloomberg) -- A swine flu vaccine developed in China is “safe and effective” on humans based on a preliminary clinical trial, Sinovac Biotech Co. said today, the country’s official Xinhua news agency reported.

The Beijing-based pharmaceutical company said this is the world’s first vaccine for the H1N1 virus that’s completed preliminary trials, Xinhua reported. Helen Yang, a spokeswoman for Sinovac in Beijing, wasn’t immediately available to confirm the report.

Sinovac said Aug. 4 it injected 1,614 volunteers with the first shot of the vaccine and the trial was “proceeding well.” None of the subjects experienced any severe adverse reactions. Almost 12 percent suffered “mild and transient” effects, a similar rate to the seasonal flu shot, Sinovac said in a statement.

Aug. 18 (Bloomberg) -- A swine flu vaccine developed in China is safe and effective for humans, based on one shot given in a preliminary clinical trial, Sinovac Biotech Co. said.

Tests involving 1,614 volunteers show the product met “international criteria for vaccines” and offers protection against the H1N1 virus, Sinovac, the developer, said in an e- mailed statement today. No one displayed any signs of severe adverse reaction after the inoculation, the company said, without providing details on the strength of the dose.

The shot is the world’s first swine flu vaccine to have completed preliminary trials, the Beijing-based maker said. Sinovac said it plans to finish a report on the vaccine “as soon as possible” and apply for a production license from China’s State Food and Drug Administration.

The vaccine maker said June 19 it received an initial order for 4 million doses from the Beijing government and expects delivery by the end of September. It anticipated additional orders in October, taking the total to 10 million doses.

CSL Ltd., the Southern Hemisphere’s only flu vaccine maker, expects preliminary results on the first dose of its vaccine next week, Rachel David, a company spokeswoman, said by phone. No severe adverse reactions have been observed so far, and the Melbourne-based company plans to submit the data to the Australian government on Sept. 4, she said.

(NYSE Amex: SVA), a leading provider of vaccines in China, announced today positive top-line results from the completed clinical trial for its internally-developed H1N1 vaccine. The clinical data unblinding conference was held in Beijing on the afternoon of August 17, 2009. Notably, Sinovac is the first company worldwide to complete clinical trials for the H1N1 vaccine.

The analysis of the clinical trial results showed that the H1N1 vaccine developed by Sinovac induces good immunogenicity after one dose. The seropositive rate, seroconvertive rate and GMT increasing multiple have reached the international criteria for vaccines, which indicates that Sinovac's H1N1 vaccine has good immunogenicity and offers protection.

After receiving one shot of the vaccine, none of the volunteers participating in Sinovac's clinical trials exhibited any signs of severe adverse reactions. The adverse events were all mild and transient, with pain at the site of injection as the most common symptom. The total adverse event rate is similar to the seasonal influenza vaccine. These results demonstrated that the H1N1 vaccine has a good safety profile.

The clinical trials were initiated in the Huai Rou district, Beijing City on July 22, 2009, with the design of single center, randomization and double blindness. The inoculation was completed on August 15, 2009. A total of 1,614 participants over 3 years old received the H1N1 vaccine. Blood samples were collected from the participants on the vaccination date, 14 days post vaccination date and 21 days post vaccination date. The National Institute for the Control of Pharmaceutical and Biological Products (NICBPB), the central laboratory of China State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA), have completed the HI antibody tests on all blood samples.

This clinical trial was organized by China's Center for Disease Control (CDC), and undertaken by the Beijing CDC. The Ministry of Health (MOH) and the SFDA are continuing to closely monitor this clinical trial. Sinovac Biotech Q2 Profit Surges - Update

(RTTNews) - Wednesday, China-based vaccine deveopler Sinovac Biotech Ltd. (SVA: News ) reported a 74% increase in second-quarter profit, as sales grew 21% driven partly by increased sales of inactivated hepatitis A vaccine following a purchase order from China's Ministry of Public Health Ministry.

For the latest quarter, net income attributable to the stockholders of Sinovac Biotech soared to $5.81 million or $0.14 per share from $3.34 million or $0.08 per share in the prior-year period.

Quarterly sales moved up 21% to $20.02 million from $16.52 million in the previous year. Sales of first inactivated hepatitis A vaccine Healive for the three-month period rose to 3.26 million doses from 2.72 million in the preceding year. Bilive, a combined inactivated hepatitis A and B vaccine, recorded sales of 315 thousand doses for the quarter, higher than 176 thousand doses last year.

The China-based company's gross profit for the most recent quarter jumped to $16.26 million from $13.91 million on year. Total operating expenses reduced to $5.58 million from $6.88 million in the comparable quarter a year ago. Consequently, opertaing income increased 52% to $10.68 million from $7.03 million year-over-year.

For the first six months, Sinovac Biotech's net income attributable to stockholders was up to $5.83 million or $0.14 per share from $4.9 million or $0.12 per share in the prior year.
Six-month revenues grew to $26.58 million from $25.38 million last year.

Looking ahead, on the basis of expected demand for H1N1 vaccine, the company expects fiscal 2009 revenues to exceed expectations. However, Sinovac Biotech noted that due to uncertainty on the timing of future orders, it cannot further quantify its expectations. Previously, the company projected revenues for the full year to be in the range of $55 million - $60 million.

SVA closed Tuesday's trade at $5.10, up $0.58, on a volume of 2.73 million shares.

A total of 20 million doses have been commissioned from European laboratories ahead of Mexico's winter season, when the infection rate is expected to increase sharply, he said.

Cordova said the Chinese vaccine will cost about 40 percent less than its European equivalents and is easier to apply.

Mexico has reported 20,860 confirmed A/H1N1 flu cases, including 179 deaths, according to a report published Tuesday.

During his official visit to China last week, Cordova met with his Chinese counterpart and attended a seminar on fighting A/H1N1 flu.

...naja Sinovac hat ja schon seit ein paar Jahren den Grippeimpfstoff ANFLU auf dem Markt. Und PANFLU (H1N1) ist erfolgreich in klinischen Tests. Somit ist diese News zwar interessant, aber es handelt sich dabei eigentlich nur um saisonales Standardgeschäft für Sinovac. Natürlich ist im Moment jede Erwähnung von H1N1 hilfreich, aber ob dadurch +20% wirklich gerechtfertigt sind, wir der Schlusskurs zeigen...

Bin übrigens schon seit 2003 in Sinovac investiert und weiterhin LONG...!

UN warns over swine flu in birds

Turkeys have caught swine flu in Chile
The discovery of swine flu in birds in Chile raises concerns about the spread of the virus, the UN warns.

Last week the H1N1 virus was found in turkeys on farms in Chile. The UN now says poultry farms elsewhere in the world could also become infected.

Scientists are worried that the virus could theoretically mix with more dangerous strains. It has previously spread from humans to pigs.

However, swine flu remains no more severe than seasonal flu.

Safe to eat

Chilean authorities first reported the incident last week. Two poultry farms are affected near the seaport of Valparaiso.

Juan Lubroth, interim chief veterinary officer of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), said: "Once the sick birds have recovered, safe production and processing can continue. They do not pose a threat to the food chain."

Chilean authorities have established a temporary quarantine and have decided to allow the infected birds to recover rather than culling them.

It is thought the incident represents a "spill-over" from infected farm workers to turkeys.

Canada, Argentina and Australia have previously reported spread of the H1N1 swine flu virus from farm workers to pigs.

Dangerous strains

The emergence of a more dangerous strain of flu remains a theoretical risk. Different strains of virus can mix together in a process called genetic reassortment or recombination.

So far there have been no cases of H5N1 bird flu in flocks in Chile.

However, Dr Lubroth said: "In Southeast Asia there is a lot of the (H5N1) virus circulating in poultry.

"The introduction of H1N1 in these populations would be of greater concern."

Colin Butter from the UK's Institute of Animal Health agrees.

"We hope it is a rare event and we must monitor closely what happens next," he told BBC News.

"However, it is not just about the H5N1 strain. Any further spread of the H1N1 virus between birds, or from birds to humans would not be good.

"It might make the virus harder to control, because it would be more likely to change."

William Karesh, vice president of the Wildlife Conservation Society, who studies the spread of animal diseases, says he is not surprised by what has happened.

"The location is surprising, but it could be that Chile has a better surveillance system.

"However, the only constant is that the situation keeps changing."

Bei der AKTIONÄRS-Top-Empfehlung Sinovac setzt sich die Rallye auch zu Beginn dieser Woche fort. Im frühen US-Handel liegt das Papier des chinesischen Impfstoffentwicklers mehr als 14 Prozent im Plus. Seit der Erstempfehlung liegen AKTIONÄRS-Leser mit dem Titel nun schon mehr als 180 Prozent vorn.

Behörden geben grünes Licht

Grund für den heutigen Kurssprung ist die Meldung, dass Experten der chinesischen Gesundheitsbehörden grünes Licht für den von Sinovac entwickelten Impfstoff zur Vorbeugung der Schweinegrippe gegeben haben.

Die Experten erklärten das Vakzin für grundsätzlich sicher und wirksam. Gewinne laufen lassen

SEOUL, Sept 1 (Reuters) - Shares in South Korea's Boryung Pharm (003850.KS) jumped on Tuesday on news that it had entered a deal to acquire supplies of H1N1 flu vaccine from China's Sinovac (SVA.A),

A Boryung spokesman confirmed that a deal with Sinovac had been reached."Details of the deal have not yet been decided and will be specified when South Korean health authorities approve the deal," a Boryung spokesman told Reuters, adding that Sinovac could supply 10 million or more doses.
"We are making every effort to come to a speedy agreement," he said.

Shares in Boryung were up 13 percent at 47,750 won at 0307 GMT, far outpacing the wider market's 0.7 percent gain.

Shares in Green Cross (006280.KS), the only South Korean drug firm able to mass produce the H1N1 flu vaccine on its own, were also up 13 percent.

The South Korean government has set aside 193 billion won ($155 million) to secure H1N1 vaccine supplies for 13 million people, or 27 percent of the population [ID:nSEO293894].

The news of the South Korean purchase came a week after China's Xinhua news agency said the Mexican government planned to buy 10 million doses of vaccine from China.

Earlier this month, Sinovac Biotech Ltd, the first company worldwide to complete clinical trials for a vaccine to treat the new strain of H1N1 known as swine flu, said a single dose of its H1N1 vaccine was effective and sufficient. [ID:nLI544899]

It said on Monday that it expected government approval of the vaccine this week, after it passed muster from a panel of experts organised by the State Food and Drug Administration, sending its shares soaring nearly 54 percent.

hab jetzt noch eine andere quelle bei reuters gelesen, sehr ähnlich zum ersten artikel, in dem sinovac sich nicht

SEOUL/BEIJING, Sept 1 (Reuters) - Shares in South Korea's Boryung Pharm (003850.KS) soared to a 14-month high on Tuesday on news it would acquire supplies of H1N1 flu vaccine from China's Sinovac (SVA.A), though Sinovac said it had merely agreed that Boryung would be its agent in the South Korean market.

"Details of the deal have not yet been decided and will be specified when South Korean health authorities approve the deal," a Boryung spokesman told Reuters, adding Sinovac could supply 10 million doeses or more.

Sinovac media relations director Pearson Liu said the agreement was only for Boryung to represent Sinovac. He denied the figure of 10 million doses, which would account for almost half of Sinovac's annual production.

"It's a bit premature to talk about this. We have only just applied for domestic approval of our vaccine," he told Reuters.

"It's basically them helping us to access that (Korean) market."
Boryung already represents Sinovac in applying for South Korean approval of other vaccines, and expressed interest in the H1N1 vaccine, he said. Sinovac would first have to meet its commitments to China's domestic market.

Shares in Boryung jumped as much as 15 percent, and closed 5 percent higher at 44,400 won, outpacing the wider market's 2 percent gain.

Shares in Green Cross (006280.KS), the only South Korean drug firm able to mass produce the H1N1 flu vaccine, closed 15 percent higher. It signed a vaccine supply deal with the government last week.

A Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) official told Reuters the government secured 1.1 million doses of vaccine through a 9.1 billion won ($7.3 million) deal with Green Cross. It would receive the vaccines by end-November and was planning to order another 3.5 million doses, also from Green Cross.

The government has set aside 193 billion won ($155 million) to secure H1N1 vaccine supplies for 13 million people, or 27 percent of the South Korean population. [ID:nSEO293894]

China's Xinhua news agency said last week that Mexico's government planned to buy 10 million doses of vaccine from China. Sinovac Biotech Ltd, the first company worldwide to complete clinical trials for a vaccine to treat the new strain of H1N1, known as swine flu, has said a single dose of its vaccine is effective and sufficient. Erst gestern hatte DER AKTIONÄR das Kursziel für das Sinovac-Papier deutlich angehoben. Schon heute wurde die neue Zielmarke übertroffen. Was sollten Anleger jetzt mit dem Papier des chinesischen Impfstoffentwicklers tun?
Erst gestern hatte DER AKTIONÄR den Zielkurs für die Aktie von Sinovac deutlich von vier auf sechs Euro erhöht. Doch auch diese Zielmarke wurde sehr viel schneller übertroffen als erwartet. Im gestrigen US-Handel machte das Papier des chinesischen Impfstoff-Spezialisten einen erneuten Kurssprung um mehr als 50 Prozent.

Reaktion auf gute News

Die Börse honorierte damit zum einen die guten News der letzten Tage. Gesundheitsexperten aus China hatten sich dafür ausgesprochen, dass Sinovac die Lizenz zur Herstellung seines Impfstoffs gegen die Schweinegrippe erhält. Außerdem hatte Sinovac den Zuschlag über eine größere Lieferung des Grippeimpfstoffs Anflu für den Großraum Peking erhalten.

Zum anderen nimmt der Markt mit den aktuellen Kursexzessen bereits das Szenario vorweg, dass Sinovac das erste Unternehmen sein dürfte, das mit einem Impfstoff gegen die Schweinegrippe auf den Markt kommt. Es wird damit gerechnet, dass das chinesische Biotech-Unternehmen noch bis Ende der Woche von den Behörden mit einer entsprechenden Lizenz zur Herstellung des Impfstoffs ausgestattet wird.



Neues Allzeithoch

Seit Empfehlung im AKTIONÄR im Mai dieses Jahres steht nun bereits ein Kursplus von rund 350 Prozent zu Buche. Die Empfehlung lautet nach wie vor, einen Teil des Gewinns zu realisieren und mit der Restposition auf eine Fortsetzung der Rallye zu spekulieren. Nach dem gestrigen Kurssprung wird das Kursziel auf 8,50 Euro angepasst. Der Stoppkurs wird zur Absicherung der bisher erzielten Gewinne auf sechs Euro angehoben.

Many health authorities are assuming two doses of vaccine are necessary while they await the results of trials by drug makers around the world to determine the appropriate dosage.

China's State Food and Drug Administration said on its Web site it will make a decision this week on approving two vaccines that completed clinical trials last month and passed reviews by panels of about 40 experts. Four other vaccines are being reviewed, it said.

The vaccine makers, Sinovac Biotech Ltd. and Hualan Biological Engineering Inc., said the clinical trials show their products are effective in single doses when used on people aged three to 60 years. More than 3,000 people participated in the trials.

Sinovac says it has the capacity to produce up to 30 million doses of swine flu vaccine in a year while Hualan said it can make 160 million doses.

Stockpiling vaccines is China's latest move in its aggressive approach to contain the spread of swine flu in the country of 1.3 billion people and relatively limited medical resources. It has quarantined travelers on suspicion of contact with infected people and ordered schools to test students' temperatures.

The Health Ministry says around 3,700 cases of swine flu have been confirmed on the mainland -- none fatal.

China aims to have enough swine flu vaccine for 5 percent of the public by the end of the year, and although health officials have not released detailed vaccination plans, they have said health workers, public service workers and students are priority groups.

International health experts say swine flu has not been as severe as initially feared. At least 2,185 people have died, but most cases are mild and require no treatment. Worries remain that a rash of new infections could overwhelm hospitals and health authorities, particularly in poorer countries

wenn das stimmt wären das noch mal 50% mehr...
verkauft kriegen sie die max. produktion allemal...

weiss jemand was über den preis pro dosis -
desöfteren war immer von 20$ - 30$ die rede...aber da werden die governments wohl noch gehörig mitverhandeln...

best case szenario wären dann 30 mio. dosen x 30$ = 900 mio.$!!

das wären dann kurse, da kann man nur träumen ...
aber der heutige kurs wäre da nur ein einstieg

Experts said China's versions could boost global efforts to fight the virus if claims they work with just one dose are proven.

Many health authorities have assumed two doses would be needed to offer complete protection against the new H1N1 virus, so a single-dose vaccine means producers could distribute supplies to more people more quickly.

The World Health Organization said it was encouraged after reviewing details of trials of one of the two Chinese vaccines. However, experts said more test results were needed from other vaccine makers around the world to determine if one dose would be potent enough.

"Everybody is desperately hoping that one will do because then that's much easier to administer," said Jodie McVernon, a vaccine expert at the University of Melbourne who is involved in Australian trials of swine flu vaccines for young children. She said she had not seen the Chinese trial results.

In about two weeks, the U.S. expects to announce initial trial results from its vaccine, which is the same type as China's Sinovac version, said Dr. Anthony Fauci of the National Institutes of Health, who is overseeing American swine-flu vaccine tests.

"From what I've seen and heard of the data, it looks encouraging," Fauci said of Sinovac's clinical trials. "This is very good news. Let's hope the material that we're using has similar results."

WHO said information provided by Sinovac shows that in trials, the vaccines were tested in three formulations of 15 microgram doses, and all gave antibody responses that satisfied regulatory criteria.

"We have no reason to doubt what Sinovac is reporting," said Melinda Henry, a WHO spokeswoman in Geneva. "Certainly if one dose proves sufficient to produce the desired immune response, this would be very encouraging in terms of augmenting the global supply of vaccine in the near future."

China aims to have enough swine flu vaccines for 5 percent of its population by the end of the year, Health Minister Chen Zhu said at a recent flu symposium in Beijing.

Chen said the government was still deciding who to vaccinate first, but health and public service workers and students are among groups likely to be given priority. Only 20 million people in China, or 1 percent of its population, get seasonal flu vaccinations every year, a small proportion compared to the U.S., where around a quarter of the population receive them.

Beyond meeting domestic needs, China's vaccine makers are eager to supply other countries, some of whom have expressed interest, if production can be ramped up.

"If we still have extra capacity, Sinovac is quite open to discuss the possible opportunities of H1N1 vaccine exports," the Beijing-based company said in an e-mailed response to questions.

Quality concerns would likely arise if China exports vaccines. Though China is a worldwide manufacturing center for pharmaceuticals, suppliers have been known to substitute cheaper and sometimes lethal ingredients. Tainted cough syrup was linked to several deaths in Central America and blood thinners made with contaminated product are suspected in dozens of deaths in the U.S. in recent years.

Last week, Mexico Health Secretary Jose Angel Cordova said Mexico is considering buying vaccines from China, at a cost that is more than 40 percent cheaper than other vaccines being offered to the government. But Mexico would want a guarantee that China's vaccine is safe and effective, he said.

China has said the two vaccines meet the international standards set by the European Medicines Agency, the EU agency responsible for the protection and promotion of public and animal health. However, data on the clinical trials has not yet been published.

Stockpiling vaccines is China's latest move in its aggressive approach to contain the spread of swine flu in the country of 1.3 billion people with relatively limited medical resources.

Chastised by foreign governments and its own people for initially covering up the 2002-03 outbreak of SARS, the communist government has taken strict measures against swine flu since the virus was first reported on the mainland in May.

These include blanket screening of travelers arriving from abroad at airports and quarantining anyone -- including entire foreign school groups and New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin -- suspected of contact with an infected person.

Temperature checks are required to enter schools and many public buildings. Authorities have ordered schools to quarantine students at home if they come in close contact with swine flu patients. In eastern China, authorities said this week that school officials found responsible for a swine flu outbreak at a high school that led to 109 students being infected will be severely punished for not taking temperatures before classes started.

While criticized by some as excessive, Beijing has defended the measures, saying they've limited infections, with around 3,700 cases of swine flu reported on the mainland -- none fatal. In the U.S., more than 8,800 cases requiring hospitalization have been reported, with 556 deaths.

bin mir da noch nicht so sicher , wo die reise hingeht , wenn nicht bald die lizenz kommt.da sind ja auch noch andere player im spiel.und der zusammenschluß mit boryung , ist wohl eher schlecht aufgenommen worden.
auch die folgenden nachrichten konnten den kurs nicht aufbessern .
naja immerhin bleibt er momentan mal so um die neun und fällt nicht weiter.
ich hab dummerweise gestern schon nachgekauft. :-((

ach ja hätte ich fast vergessen.
auch wenn ich nichts auf analysten gebe.
aber ein paar"experten" glauben , das der preis gestern (11-12$)schon die vorwegname des kurses bei zulassung gewesen wären.

klar das kann jetzt mal wieder beides bedeuten.
1.die haben recht
2.die wollen nochmal "billig(er)" einsteigen

war gestern lange mit mir am zaudern , ob es nicht vernünftig wäre zu verkaufen , weil ich wußte ,das es schmerzt , wenn der gewinn zusammenschmilzt.

aber bin da guter dinge , das die amis bei "guten "nachrichten schon wieder hinlangen werden.

The State Food and Drug Administration gave the green light on Thursday for the vaccine, which Sinovac says needs only one shot to be effective.

Sinovac's U.S.-listed shares have risen 77 percent in the last two weeks, and hit a historic high of $12.45 on Sept. 1, on anticipation that it would be able to produce and sell its vaccine to China's vast population. The stock closed down 18 percent on Wednesday, at $8.53 a share.

Alte Börsenweisheit... buy on rumours, sell on news....war wohl der effekt bei der südkorea news...

zumal sich wirklich die ernsthafte frage stellt, wo soll sinovac die ganzen impfdosen herzaubern, über die hier kolportiert werden...? beijing alleine braucht wahrscheinlich 20mio stück. der rest von china ??? und dann südkorea, philipinen usw. usf. - das kann nur über lizenzherstellung gehen. oder aquisition von anderen herstellern - sinovac hat wohl ca. $45mio cash auf der hohen kante, könnte also einkaufen gehen (was bei der quartalspressekonfi auch vom CEO angesprochen wurde)
...und dass die regierung von china nicht den (-30% zu ausländischen) listenpreis zahlen wird, sollte jedem doch auch klar sein.

nichtsdestotrotz, ich halte nach einem schönen verdoppler jetzt noch 50% meiner anteile. bei erneutem verdoppler gehen wieder 50% über den tisch, den rest lass ich auf alle ewigkeit (frei nach buffet und kosto) laufen... irgendwann werden die doch auch mal eine divi zahlen, oder?

und nun abwarten, was die zeit bringt

1.viele haben einen teil der gewinne mitgenommen, wie du

aber leider zu früh am gleichen tag bei $11.11 wieder rein -
gut 1$ verbilligt)...bei den gewinnen der letzten tage verständlich...
2. der korea-deal kam nicht gut an, weil die koreaner
sofort 10 mio. dosen als abnahme hinausposaunt hatten,
von sinovac zurückgepfiffen wurden...siehe corrected statement
von reuters); in einigen us-boards wurde geschrieben, vielleicht
sei der korea-deal garnicht so gut wie vermutet...

ich glaube sinovac hat sich da sehr, sehr clever verhalten...
vor der zulassung irgendwelche deals mit grossen mengen
bekanntzugeben, hätte den behörden und dem government
in china garnicht gefallen..."man sollte das fell des bären erst
verteilen wenn..."
jetzt haben sie die zulassung, das government in china wollte
sicher für seine bevölkerung eine gewisse menge an dosen
gesichert haben...JETZT HAT SINOVAC ALLE TRÜMPFE IN DER HAND...

bin sehr zufrieden mit dem verlauf, spricht auch für eine gewisse seriosität der firma, habe auch viel gutes gelesen...

es gibt viele hochrechnungen bzgl. menge der impfdosen/preis
pro dosis...
was ich erstaunlich finde, dass in allen neuen seriösen quellen jetzt von 30 mio. dosen/jahr statt wie anfänglich 20 mio.dosen/jahr gesprochen wird...50% plus
ich glaube auch, dass die chin. regierung bei der preisbildung
ein gewisses wörtchen mitgeredet für die chin. bevölkerung...
aber dass wird bei der normalen flu vaccination auch schon
der fall gewesen sein...ist normal
ich hab schon ein dutzend rechenbeispiele in dt. und us-boards
gelesen 30 mio.dosen (dass die alle verkauft werden dürfte wohl klar sein - bei der nicht zu sättigenden nachfrage) a` x dollar.

die defensiven rechnungen landen bei einem reellen
stockprice für SINOVAC bei $20 (!!!), die progressiven
(preis pro impfdosis 15-20$...was ich persönlich auch zu hoch
kalkuliert finde) bei einem shareprice von $50 bis ende des jahres...

da bin ich mit meinen $15 noch ultrakonservativ -
vor allem wenn man betrachtet, dass die mk.cap. von NVAX
in usa deutlich höher ist als die von SINOVAC...
dabei hat NVAX noch nicht mal mit clinical trials begonnen
und SINOVAC hat seit heute eine zulassung...das ist doch ein witz

$15 als konservatives kursziel kurzfristig, da bleib ich dabei,
keine kaufempfehlung, jeder handelt auf eigenes risiko!!!

Ich habe gelesen, das die chin. Regierung irgend einem Unternehmen eine Produktionsstraße für 10 Mill. Einheiten spendiert hat. Sinovac oder andere Namen wurden nicht genannt. Es wurde nur gesagt, das es eine Firma ist, die als einzige dazu imstande wäre, genügend Impfstoff für eine Pandemie herzustellen. Sinovac ist dazu nicht imstande. Also gehe ich für mich persönlich weiterhin von 20 Mill. Einheiten aus. Und ich glaube auch nicht, das an diesen 20 Mill. großartig was verdient wird.

Aber was ich glaube ist, das es bei den Lizenzeinnahmen rappeln wird.

Im Grunde war doch aber allen klar, das diese Lizenz kommen würde. Insofern schon eingepreist. Und ich glaube, das ich gelesen habe, das Hualan als 2. chin. Unternehmen die Erlaubnis zur Produktion erhalten hat. Ebenfalls nur eine Impfung erforderlich. Bei anderen, westlichen Unternehmen soll auch nur noch eine Impfung reichen. Somit entfällt der Preisvorteil. Und wird leider die Lizenzeinnahmen minimieren.

after hours war auch nicht berauschend (9,18$).
mal sehen ob man sie heute morgen zu nem vernünftigen preis losbekommt.

zu sinovac: ich finde es sehr gut - ein beweis eines gut geführten unternehmens - das sinovac eben doch sehr konservativ und zurückhaltend ist. denkt doch nur mal zurück an die new economy.... vorvorletzte Woche einen Teil verkauft, letzte Woche ganz raus.
Schau Dir den 5 - Jahreschart an, wir sind jetzt schon weit über die Spitzen drüber. Glaube mehr als 10 geht da nicht.
Aber egal, kommt halt drauf an was man will: langfrist, dann Helm auf und durch oder aber wie's bei mir war 120% Gewinn mitnehmen und Ruhe iss.
Das teil schwankt mir doch zu sehr.
Muß aber jeder für sich entscheiden.

Bin vor ein paar Wochen dem allgemeinen Rat gefolgt und habe einen Teil verkauft. Kann dem weiteren Geschehen dadurch einigermaßen beruhigt entgegensehen. Denke, dass der momentane Kursverlauf vor allem damit zu tun hat, dass das Thema in der Presse nicht präsent ist und somit der Kurstreiber "Panik" fehlt. Im Grunde läuft nach wie vor alles nach Plan und man darf gute Zahlen für das 3. und 4. Quartal erwarten.
Glaube ich, dass der Kurs noch einmal so fulminant ansteigt? Ehrlich gesagt nein. Sofern die Berichterstattung über die Schweinegrippe jedoch wieder zunimmt ist meiner Meinung nach auch wieder mit steigenden Kursen zu rechnen.

BEIJING/HONG KONG (Reuters) - The first batch of people to receive
vaccinations against the new swine flu -- a group of students in China
-- has reported no serious side effects, Chinese officials said on
Tuesday.


China began a mass vaccination program on Monday, with around 100,000
students in Beijing due to be given the shots initially. State media
said they are the first large group of people anywhere in the world to
get vaccinated.


China's Health Minister Chen Zhu, who is attending a regional meeting
of the World Health Organization in Hong Kong, said public service
providers and vulnerable groups in densely populated cities and travel
hubs would be given priority.


"We will concentrate (our vaccination) on certain areas, the Pearl
River Delta, Beijing and Shanghai because they have heavy dealings
with the outside world. This disease is imported from overseas," Chen
told reporters on the sidelines of the meeting.


China's Sinovac reported earlier this month that its vaccine protected
patients with a single dose [ID:nPEK368343].


A WHO expert meanwhile said he was convinced China's vaccine against
the new H1N1 virus had been through proper tests.


"The size, the way they developed the protocol ... there were not just
internal people, but there were independent third parties," said
Takeshi Kasai, an advisor with WHO's communicable disease surveillance
and response in the Western Pacific.


Kasai, who was speaking to reporters at the WHO meeting in Hong Kong,
said he had seen results of the Chinese clinical trials and found
nothing untoward about the data presented.


Chen said China aimed to produce 26 million doses of the vaccine by
end-October and 65 million doses by year-end.


So far nearly 10,400 Chinese students have received the vaccine, all
of whom will participate in National Day celebrations on October 1,
said Zhao Tao, head of the Beijing health bureau's Disease Control
Department.

Sinovac erhält Lizenz für Panflu (H5N1 - Vogelgrippe) Impfstoff in Hong Kong. Gültig bis 09.2014 und dann immer um 5 Jahre verlängerbar.

In den nächsten Monaten will Sinovac auch Ihre H1N1 (Schweinegrippe) und Anflu ("normale" Gripp) Impfstoffer in Hong Kong lizensieren lassen.

Der Partner in Mexico - Laboratorios Imperiales SA de C.V - ist exclusiver Distributor und wird wohl das Thema weiter begleiten.

Als nächtes steht die Export-Lizenz der Chinesischen Regierung für den Impfstoff aus. Meiner Meinung nach eine nicht zu unterschätzende Hürde. Da Sinovacs eigene Produktion ausgelastet ist, wird der Impfstoff wohl unter Lizenz anderswo hergestellt - China oder Mexico?

Des Weiteren wurde die Lizenz für Mexico bestätigt. Es liegt hier wohl jetzt "nur" noch an der Exportzulassung seitens der Chinesischen Regierung. Dann kann die erste Bestellung aus Mexico kommen.

Meine Meinung: Es gibt 2 Dinge, die aktuell den Preis nach oben treiben sollten - 1. wenn SVA endlich die Kapazitätserweiterung ankündigt (ob selber oder unter Lizenz bei einem anderen Hersteller) und 2. Q3 Zahlen mitte November (die Erwartungen sollten weit übertroffen werden).

Sinovac wandert von AMEX zur NASDAQ!

Am 16.11. soll es unter dem Kürzel SVA an der NASDAQ weitergehen. Ich sehe das als ein sehr positives Zeichen, da die NASDAQ höhere Anforderungen an Firmen hat (Reporting usw.) und der Market Maker an der AMEX offensichtlich zu sehr mit Naked Shorting involviert ist / war.

Zudem hat die NASDAQ natürlich auch ein anderes Profil und eine andere (bessere) Präsenz bei weltweiten Anlegern. Das sollte hofentlich dazu führen, dass endlich mal ein paar Häuser Sinovac aktiv unter die Lupe nehmen.

Tja, die Frage kann man nur für sich selbst beantworten.
Ich persönlcih gehe von deutlich steigenden Kursen aus, da die aktuellen Zahlen ja noch nicht die starken Umsätze zum H1N1 enthalten. Also sollte mindestens bis zum Q1 2010 ein + drin sein.

denke auch dass die aktie noch deutlich zulegt.

Wie schon gesagt die Panflu 1 umsätze sind nur marinal klein im Q3 ergebnis. Ausserdem sind sie extrem gut aufgestellt und es geht denk ich eher darum dass sie noch gute produktionspartner bekommen um die großen aufträge auch bewältigen zu können.

Ich denke es ist ähnlich wie bei einem Umstieg von Bsp. M-Dax in den Dax. Hierbei kann es immer sein, dass Fonds die den jeweiligen Index abbilden die Aktie in größerem Maß verkaufen und Fonds des anderen Indexes diese erst nach und nach aufstocken. Somit kommt es fast immer zu Kurssprüngen.

Ich meine wir könnten das Tief gesehen haben und uns langsam wieder gen 6 € machen die 8 € sehen wir wohl frühestens im Feb. mit den Q4 Zahlen oder bei einem deutlichen Schub an Grippefällen Weltweit. Bis dahin ruhig Blut.

In addition, the headquarters feature quality assurance and quality control facilities, research laboratory, office building and warehouse.

Based on current projections, Sinovac Dalian's development pipeline is expected to be comprised of vaccines for rabies, mumps, varicella, and rubella. The Dalian-based facility has a designed annual manufacturing capacity of 20 million doses of vero cell cultured vaccines and 20 million doses of live attenuated vaccines.

Ich denke, es liegt eher an dem Ausstieg einiger großen Gesellschaften (Sansar, Morgan Stanley, Merril Lynch usw.). Der Umzug auf die NASDAQ und die Shelf-Registration werden wohl auch dazu beigetragen haben.

Da ich Daytrading nicht verfolge, schaue ich auch nicht auf Meldungen bzgl. Leerverkäufen. Und überhaupt, sollte das bei der NASDAQ nicht deutlich schwerer sein als auf der AMEX mit den MMs?

Die News von heute ist ja auch schon etwas veraltet - am 26.11. wurde bekannt gegeben, dass die Chin. Regierung eine weitere Tranche Impfstoff bestellt hat und dass die 46mio Dosen unter 9 Hersteller verteilt werden. Da war ja klar, dass Sinovac dabei sein würde. ja, und gucke schon seit Wochen, wie der Kurs langsam aber sicher Richtung Süden geht...mein Einstandskurs war 5,27 euro wenn ich mich nicht irre, auf 3,70 befindet sich ein starker Wiederstand..mal sehen,ob es noch tiefer geht...komich die Nachrichten über Sinovac waren eigentlich ganz gut die letzte Zeit...

Sinovac Biotech Co. (NYSE: SVA)has signed up Parenteral Drugs India (BSE: 524689) to distribute its H1N1 Influenza Vaccine (Split Virion) and Inactivated (Panflu.1) in India. Parenteral, which will have an exclusive license for the vaccines in India, will presumably be responsible for registering them in its home territory.

No financial details of the agreement were disclosed.

Parenteral produces a long list of pharmaceutical products, including antibiotics, anti-ulcerant, anti- bacterial, anti-inflammatory/analgesics, anti-cold, multi-vitamins and cardiac drugs. It has also recently launched liquid cough syrups, anti-cold medications and other pediatric products. The company is listed on the Bombay exchange.

To date, most of Sinovac’s revenues have come from within China, though it also registered Panflu.1 in Mexico. Sinovac made its reputation by developing a vaccine for hepatitis B, Healive®. The company had difficulty gaining market share for its flu vaccine until this year, when it prospered by selling both seasonal flu vaccine and H1N1 vaccine to municipal and provincial health agencies in China. The company has not yet released its 2009 financial results, though analysts expect a large increase in revenues during the last six months of the year.

Financial Review for Three Months Ended March 31, 2010

First quarter 2010 results included the consolidation of the financial results from the 30%-owned joint venture, Sinovac Dalian, following its formation in January 2010.

Sales for the first quarter of 2010 were $4.4 million, down 32% from $6.6 million for the first quarter of 2009. The lower sales in the first quarter 2010 were attributable to the lower demand in the private pay market based on concerns over product safety given the recent media reports linking the improper storage of vaccines by a distributor to a few cases of serious adverse events in China's Shanxi province. The media reports, which were not related to Sinovac and its products, impacted the entire vaccine industry in China and were subsequently proven to be unfounded based on the government's investigation.

Sales of the Panflu.1 (H1N1) vaccine represented 29.96% of total sales for the three months ended March 31, 2010. The H1N1 vaccine was sold to the Chinese government in accordance with the government purchase program.

Gross profit for the first quarter of 2010 was $3.6 million, with a gross margin of 80%, compared to $5.1 million and a gross margin of 78% for the same period of 2009. The gross margin for the first quarter of 2010 increased due to the product mix during the current year quarter.

Selling, general and administrative expenses for the first quarter of 2010 were $3.1 million, compared to $3.5 million in the same period of 2009. SG&A expenses as a percentage of first quarter 2010 sales were 70%, compared to 54% during the first quarter of the prior year. The higher SG&A expenses as a percentage of revenue resulted from the additional G&A expenses associated with the 30%-owned joint venture, partly offsetting the lower selling costs associated with the first quarter 2010 revenues.

Net research and development expenses for the first quarter 2010 were $908,000, compared to $759,000 in the same period of 2009. The increased R&D expenses in the first quarter of 2010 were primarily related to the continued development of EV71 vaccine, pneumococcal conjugated vaccine, rabies vaccines for human and animals, along with the mumps vaccine, which is currently under development at Sinovac Dalian.

Depreciation of property, plant and equipment and amortization of license and permits for the first quarter of 2010 rose to $425,000, compared to $165,000 for the same period of last year. The increase was primarily attributable to depreciation expense at Sinovac Dalian that was included in the first quarter 2010 consolidated results.

Total operating expenses for the first quarter of 2010 were $4.4 million, compared to $4.5 million in the comparative period in 2009.

The operating loss for the three months ended March 31, 2010 was $865,000, compared to operating income of $646,000 for the same period of the prior year. The operating loss in the first quarter of 2010 was attributable to the increased administrative expenses from Sinovac Dalian, reduced sales and higher R&D expenses.

Net income for the first quarter of 2010 included $124,000 of interest and financing expenses, $493,000 of interest and other expenses and $269,000 of income tax recovery. Net income for the same period of 2009 included $126,000 of interest and financing expenses, $93,000 of interest and other income, and $482,000 of income tax expenses. Net loss attributable to shareholders for first quarter of 2010 was $307,000, or $0.01 loss per diluted share, as compared to net income attributable to shareholders of $25,000, or $0.00 per diluted share, in the same period of 2009.

As of March 31, 2010, Sinovac's cash and cash equivalents totaled $118.9 million, compared to $75.0 million as of December 31, 2009. The increase in cash and cash equivalents primarily reflects the contribution of approximately $62.0 million in net proceeds from the public offering of common shares, which closed in February 2010.

Recent Developments

Sinovac's 30%-owned joint venture, Sinovac Dalian, submitted an application to the SFDA to commence human clinical trials for its mumps vaccine. The proprietary mumps vaccine developed by Sinovac Dalian represents not only the first live attenuated vaccine for which Sinovac has filed a clinical trial application, but also the first candidate from the joint venture's pipeline for which a clinical trial application has been submitted to and accepted by the SFDA since the formation of the joint venture in January 2010.

After receiving regulatory approval from China's State Administration of Foreign Exchange, Sinovac Biotech, through its wholly owned subsidiary Sinovac Biotech (Hong Kong) Ltd, made an initial cash contribution of 60 million RMB, or approximately $8.8 million, to Sinovac Dalian. Dalian Jin Gang Group, the other party, made an asset contribution, inclusive of its manufacturing facilities, production lines and land use rights, with an appraised value of 140 million RMB, or approximately $20.5 million. Equity interest is currently divided 30% and 70% between Sinovac and Dalian Jin Gang Group, respectively. Pursuant to the agreement executed between Sinovac and Dalian Jin Gang Group, Sinovac intends to increase its equity shares to 55%, in exchange for a cash contribution of 50 million RMB, or approximately $7.3 million, on or before December 31, 2010.

2010 Guidance

Sinovac anticipates that the impact of the unfounded Shanxi media reports on the vaccine industry will gradually diminish as the SFDA has clarified that the fatalities were not connected to the vaccines; however it may take some time for public perceptions of vaccine safety to recover. As such, the Company has adjusted its total 2010 sales expectations to the range of approximately $60.0 million to $67.0 million. It is anticipated that the 2.15 million doses of Panflu.1 purchased by the government will be delivered to the local CDC and the remaining 8.74 million doses of Panflu.1 will be stockpiled by the government in the Company's warehouse facility in 2010. The revenue from the 2.15 million H1N1 vaccine doses, which are expected to be delivered this year, is included in the 2010 sales guidance. The Company expects that the revenue from the 8.74 million H1N1 vaccine doses will be recognized in 2011, if they have not been delivered before the shelf life of the vaccine expires.

Nach einem Verlust von 0,16 Cent im letzten Fiscaljahr (rund 8,6 Mill. US Dollar) wird nun ein Gewinn von 0,14 Cent pro Aktie (rund 7,6 Mill. US Dollar) bei Sinovac erwartet, basierend auf 54200000 Shares. Warten wir es einmal ab. Kann ja nur besser werden.
