Auch wenn Biph seit längerer Zeit regungslos am Boden liegt, Wunder gibt es immer wieder. Über 40 Patente sind noch vorhanden, Boston Scientific zahlt auch weiterhin brav seine 250.000 $ und die Geschäftsbeziehungen zu Medtronic sind auch noch intakt. Und da an der Börse so ziemlich alles möglich ist, warum keine Wiederauferstehung eines Totgeglaubten. Hier ein Brief an die Aktionäre vom CEO, der sich, wie ich meine, so schlecht nicht anhört :

Dear Biophan Shareholder:
In light of Biophan’s recent announcements, I wanted to take a moment to update all of our shareholders on the company’s strategic and operational plans. Our strategy is focused on partnering our existing technologies, with a primary focus on medical device companies, in order to most efficiently reach the market. The transaction with MyoCardioCare is one example of that strategy in action. It is the company’s belief that this strategy will best position it to monetize our patent portfolio and provide the greatest possible returns for our shareholders.
MyoCardioCare is singularly dedicated to bringing the Myotech CSS technology to market. It is our belief that MyoCardioCare not only recognizes the investment potential of this technology, but is extremely motivated to see this technology reach the market and make this device available to mankind. The Biophan Board of Directors believed that this was the best opportunity to commercialize the Myotech CSS technology and return value to our shareholders; therefore, the Board voted unanimously to approve the transaction.
Biophan received a 20 percent equity interest in MyoCardioCare, in addition to cash payments under the agreement aggregating $250,000. In addition, MyoCardioCare has assumed all patent and development costs.
Because it is in both companies' interests for MyoCardioCare to succeed, the Biophan board of directors also agreed to allow me to shepherd the transition of the technology to MyoCardioCare and serve as the new company's president. I have been involved with much of the groundwork thus far, and am looking forward to working with the MyoCardioCare team as we seek investors to help us in bringing this technology to the market.
This does not mean that I am leaving Biophan. As Biophan enters its new phase, I will remain in place to oversee its operations on a contract basis. We continue to focus on looking for technology transactions to maximize the value of Biophan's intellectual property assets.
Biophan holds over 40 issued patents and several pending applications, covering a wide variety of technologies. Our technologies related to the biothermal power supply, as well as patents covering pulse width modulation of pacemakers and neurostimulators and novel forms of treatment for atrial fibrillation, have great potential for the multibillion markets for pacemakers and implantable neurostimulators. Our patents on optical catheters for intraluminal MR imaging have the potential to change the way diagnostic procedures are performed. Our patent portfolio related to photonics covers a wide range of medical devices, and our patents in the area of nanomagnetics and shielding have applications extending well beyond the medical device field.
While we focus on additional technology deals, we still maintain our relationships with Boston Scientific and Medtronic, and we look forward to exciting possibilities for the future, augmented by the development of the MyoCardioCare product. Biophan currently receives annual minimum royalty payments from Boston Scientific of $250,000, and is entitled to royalties of 3 to 5 percent on Boston Scientific products incorporating our technology. In addition, Biophan’s ownership interests in MyoCardioCare and Biophan Europe position our shareholders to benefit from the success of these organizations, as well.

man muß auch die Hoffnung noch nicht ganz aufgeben. Was letzten Endes wirklich hinter dem Absturz steckte, werden wir wohl nie erfahren, vielleicht war wirklich alles nur Betrug, oder es gab zu viele Fehler des Managements, in jedem Fall wird es aber meiner Meinung nach noch mal hochgehen. Ich kenne eigentlich keinen einzigen Pennystock bei dem das nicht so war, hochgezockt worden sind die alle irgendwann noch mal. Und die momentane Strategie von Biph, mithilfe anderer Unternehmen, die die Forschungskosten übernehmen, ihre Produkte doch noch marktreif zu machen, finde ich ganz hoffnungsvoll. Auf jeden Fall ist Biph momentan extrem unterbewertet, denn die Patente sind ein vielfaches der aktuellen MK wert. Und da ich naturgemäß eher optimistisch bin, glaube ich auch das sich hier noch mal was bewegt.

Wegen dem Brief an die Shareholder vom 18 August ?
Das der Kurs noch Schwankungen macht ist möglich. Aber ob er jemals wieder hochkommt ist fraglich? Die Patente sind da. Aber gute Patente und Ideen sind nach einiger Zeit nix mehr wert wenn sie nicht umgesetzt werden. Sowas muss schnell geschehen sonst ist die Medizin in anderen Bereichen schneller.
Ob das alles Betrug war werden wir so einfach nicht rausfinden. Und man wird es nur schwer jemanden nachweisen können?

Auch bei denen könnte man das Gefühl haben das man hier abgezockt wird. Man muss nur rechtzeitig wieder vom Zug runterspringen wenn es Bergab geht.
Meines erachtens ist das Risiko bei Biophan nicht gerade gering das man einen Totalverlust erleidet.

Ich wollte auch nur darauf hingewiesen haben, dass noch nicht alle Lichter aus sind und es gerade im Pennystockbereich, des öfteren mal kaum noch erwartete, positive Überaschungen gibt. Aber so wie Biph im Moment dasteht, muß man sie nicht zwingend im Depot haben, da sind wir einer Meinung.

MyoCardioCare, Inc. (MCC), a privately owned company, recently purchased an innovative heart pump technology from Biophan Technologies, Inc. The company plans to complete the final stages of the device’s development. As a condition of the sale, Biophan retained a 20 percent equity interest in MyoCardioCare.
“This device has unique capabilities that will fill an important unmet need in the acute resuscitation market,” said John Lanzafame, president. “We look forward to bringing this life-saving device to the market.”
The novel design of the device, the MCC3000, employs a single-use, pneumatically-powered, flexible, polymer cup that rhythmically compresses and expands the heart, restoring and maintaining circulation. This technology is able to support the patient, and provide a bridge to surgery, transplant or other forms of treatment. It is designed to have lower risk of complications than other circulatory support technologies, which have high incidences of blood clots, infections and other issues.
Originally pioneered in the 1990s, early prototypes of this technology were used on several patients at Duke University, and provided full circulatory support for 2 to 83 days. Innovations made since then have overcome some limitations that prevented its successful commercialization.
The device can be installed and activated in less than five minutes, providing a new option for patients in cardiac arrest. No other circulatory support technology can be applied this quickly.
“We believe that this device will provide a much needed option for cardiac arrest patients, who are poorly served by existing circulatory support devices,” Lanzafame said. “In addition to the speed of installation and its lower risk design, it is the only technology that provides full systolic and diastolic support to both ventricles.”
In addition to acute resuscitation, the device has several potential future applications, including patient support during emergency transport and providing a new vehicle for therapeutic and drug delivery technologies.

Here's the bit I find intriguing:

This spin-off, helmed by disaster-prone John Lnazafame who paid more than $17 million for the Myotech CSS, but never spent a penny on clinical studies that could have advanced the certification of this device with FDA, and ended up selling the product to his new company for $250,000 and a mess of pottage, is all of a sudden going to "bring this device to the market"
Personally I find this implausible on many different counts.
I suspect it's a story of which we'll hear a good deal more, however, as Lanzafame, Terrizzi and their fellow directors (including one psychiatrist who specializes in "holistic medicine" and a dog shelter lover) attempt to raise finance to support their new venture.
I doubt anyone who "invested" in Biophan or Natural Nano, another disaster of which Lanzafame was a Director, will be keen to repeat their mistake, however.
But maybe I'm wrong, and PT Barnum had a point - maybe you can fool some people all of the time.

Die alten Hasen hier kennen bestimmt noch Naturalnano, quasi die kleine Schwester von Biophan. Die haben ungefähr den gleichen Kursverlauf genommen wie Biph, von ganz oben nach ganz unten. Heute, nach einer positiven News, in der Spitze ein Plus von ca. 800 %. Das läuft bei Biph auch irgendwann mal so.
Vielleicht als Masterfake zum versöhnlichen Abschluß einer mißlungenen Microsoftstory.......
