Peninsula Minerals ticks off Pre-Feasibility study milestone at Lance Uranium projects

Perth-based uranium miner Peninsula Minerals (ASX: PEN) has commenced the Pre-Feasibility Study at the company's Lance Projects in Wyoming.

Investors may recall Peninsula is targeting an inferred resource of 12-18mlb U308 by mid-2010 at Ross and Barber.

Executive chairman Gus Simpson said today ongoing interpretation of the results from the current drilling program, as well as the inclusion of previously unreported mineralised holes, has increased the company's confidence, in achieving its June 2010 JORC targets.

Significant progress has also been made in the mine planning and development process at the Lance Projects, now at a stage where detailed plant design can commence.

Mining engineers and uranium specialists Lyntek Inc (Lyntek) have been appointed to design an In-Situ Recovery (ISR) uranium processing plant, capable of processing up to 3 million pounds of U3O8 per annum.

Plant design is anticipated be completed by the end of February 2010.

The feasibility study will evaluate subsurface zones for the disposal of fluids from ISR mining and restoration.

The PFS, when combined with optimization studies, metallurgical studies, hydrological studies and mine permitting studies, being conducted in parallel - will form the basis for the full feasibility study - scheduled to for completion by early 2011.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) also provided positive feedback to Peninsula during October and November with potential to reduce the timing of the mine permitting approval process.

Gus Simpson said Peninsula has assembled a first class uranium team to advance the projects on all fronts with significant progress and achievements.

Interestingly, as a result of the recent acquisition of the NuBeth Database acquisition from UrEnergy, gives rise to a far greater exploration potential of over 70m/lb, and hence an upgrading of possible resources over the entire Lance Project area - a possibility not widely factored in at current valuations.

April

      Stimmt das so  ?

      Peninsula Minerals entwickelt Milliarden-Potenzial

      Dienstag, 13.

Dollar (rund 40 Millionen Euro).

Peninsula Minerals completes PFS, Lance Uranium Project to advance on robust economics

Australian-listed uranium explorer Peninsula Minerals (ASX: PEN) has completed a Pre-Feasibility Study on the Ross and Barber projects, the first two planned production centres at the Lance Projects in Wyoming, confirming robust economics and the viability of a planned In-Situ Recovery mining operation.

As a result of the strong economic case for development of Lance projects, a Definitive Feasibility Study will commence immediately with planned completion by January 2011. Construction of a centralised ISR processing plant has been slated to commence in 2H 2011 with a production timeline of 2012 and ramp up to 1.5 million pounds of uranium per annum.

The all important cash costs were estimated as followed; life of Mine average C1 Cash operating costs of US$14 per pound U3O8 and total cash cost is estimated at $21.42 per pound U3O8 (includes royalties & taxes).

The PFS involved a detailed assessment of the proposed ISR mining methods and process options at the Ross and Barber projects, estimates of project recoveries, capital and operating costs.

The capital and operating costs were provided by Lyntek Inc (Lyntek), a Denver based engineering company with global experience in ISR plant design and operation.

Gus Simpson, executive chairman, said “we are very pleased with the outcome of the PFS as it clearly supports the viability of the Lance Projects and our aim of commencing uranium production at Lance in 2012.”

Significantly, the PFS modelling analysis produced an NPV after tax of US$162m (discounted at 10%) with an IRR of 47.8% on the initial capital investment.

In the modelling, the Lance Projects are estimated to generate a net cash inflow after tax of $US407m over the 13 year mine life with average C1 cash operating costs of US$14 per pound U3O8.

Initial development capital costs are estimated at US$53m.

For PFS modelling purposes, all production from the Lance Projects is assumed sold at a long term average price of US$74 per pound U3O8. Sensitivities have been incorporated into the model at various price ranges. Based on current long term prices and the consensus on future long term pricing, pricing in the range of US$65-75 per pound U3O8 has been used in the PFS model.

Peninsula expects that the current level of drilling at Ross and Barber will convert the majority of the existing inferred resource to indicated status over the remainder of 2010, such that it can be considered for conversion to a reserve as part of the DFS.

Peninsula Minerals looks to drill deep disposal wells at Ross project

      Thursday, July 22, 2010

Uranium developer and explorer Peninsula Minerals (ASX: PEN) has announced a major regulatory milestone in the licensing at its Ross project, which is part of the Lance Projects, located on the north-east side of the Powder River Basin in Wyoming, USA.

Peninsula has submitted an application for up to five deep disposal wells to the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality/Water Quality Division. The Class I injection wells are planned to target the Cambrian Aged Deadwood/Flathead Sandstones at depths exceeding 8,200 feet below surface.

The study and application was completed by Petrotek Engineering Corporation of Denver USA and was received favourably by the WDEQ staff due to the comprehensive nature of the application document and pre-submission technical briefing.

The company said the target zone for the injectate demonstrates superior porosity and thickness.

In addition water quality estimates indicate that the receiving aquifer has a total dissolved solids (TDS) concentration exceeding 10,000 mg/L (drinking water is typically 400-800 mg/L) and that the water would not be suitable or usable for any other purpose other than as the proposed injection zone.

Gus Simpson, executive chairman, said, “this is just one of several significant applications that the State will receive in the next six months. We hope that it will be a model for further cooperation with the WDEQ.”

Peninsula anticipates submittal of the Permit to Mine application in December 2010 which will be soon followed by the NRC Source Materials License application.

Peninsula Minerals boosts uranium resource by 67% at Lance projects

Peninsula Minerals (ASX: PEN) has added significantly to the value of the Lance projects in Wyoming, USA, with a 67% increase in the JORC-compliant total resource estimate to 25.2Mlbs U3O8, a 130% increase in Indicated Resource from 4.0Mlbs U3O8 to 9.2Mlbs measured and indicated and an Initial Measured Resource of 3.6 Mlbs U3O8.

The Measured and Indicated U3O8, comprises 37% of the total resource estimate.

Given the increased level of resource confidence, Peninsula has decided to scale back the drilling required to convert the Inferred Resource to Indicated Status so that it can be considered for conversion to a reserve as part of the ongoing Definitive Feasibility Study.

90% of the Ross Permit Area Resource has been defined to Indicated or Measured Category and Resource extension drilling continues with a further resource update expected December 2010 as part of the Definitive Feasibility Study.

This upgrade has been achieved by the implementation of a grade/thickness contour model for resource calculation and extensive drilling since the release of the initial resource estimate in April.

The resource upgrade has also defined 3.6Mlbs U3O8 to Measured Resource Classification, the highest level of estimation confidence.

Gus Simpson, executive chairman, said “we are very pleased with these results and Peninsula is on track to convert the remaining inferred resource to DFS standard by December 2010”.

Within the Ross Permit Area the combined measured, indicated and inferred resource totals 5.44Mlbs U3O8 at an average grade of 487ppm and an average GT of 0.43.

At Barber there is a combined measured, indicated and inferred resource of 9.0Mlbs U3O8, an increase of 144% from the initial April resource estimate.

Further exploration drilling has also identified new mineralised trends that have added further resources to the inferred category.

Peninsula will undertake on-going drilling to enhance the grade and definition of the existing drill-defined resources at the Ross and Barber production areas and continue to convert areas of mineralised potential into JORC-compliant resources.

Peninsula Minerals rated a 'buy' by Hartleys, 9 cents target price

Hartleys reports that Peninsula Minerals is well placed:

Peninsula Minerals (ASX: PEN) has continued its strong track-record of delivery with a recent resource upgrade from 15.1mlb U3O8 to 25.2mlb U3O8 as well as significant progress on permitting related activity at the wholly owned Lance Project in the USA.

The company’s management team has extensive experience in delivering exploration projects into production.

The next significant milestones for the company include submission of key permitting applications as well as a resource upgrade in December 2010, then completion of its Definitive Feasibility Study (”DFS”) in January 2011, with a decision to mine likely in February 2011.

The broker would also not be surprised if the company attracted a strategic investor towards the end of the year. Peninsula is targeting first production by March 2012.

Permitting – How Peninsula is Setting the Standard:

Peninsula has employed consultants WWC Engineering to manage the majority of the permitting work and documentation is almost complete, with submission on track for December 2010.

The broker recently visited Peninsula’s operations and gained insight into the proactive process undertaken by Peninsula and WWC Engineering .

Permitting is a key risk to uranium projects and the visit was essential for us to have a view on the likelihood of Peninsula achieving approvals in a timely manner, especially considering that several other companies in the region have been back and forthing with the regulatory bodies for over two years.

The broker belives that Peninsula has taken the necessary steps in order to maximise its chances of obtaining the approvals required in order to achieve first production by mid 2012.

These steps include quarterly meetings with the regulatory bodies to review the status of application documents and pre-emptively addressing all requests for additional information that have been made to other companies.

Peninsula should also benefit from most of its leases being privately owned, as opposed to being State or Federal leases.

A greater amount of work has been required to secure the surface and mineral rights; however, less red tape is expected when it comes to securing permission to construct the plant, drill wells and build roads from the landowners, who will benefit from royalties associated with any production.

      Resource Definition on Track:

The company continues to achieve above expectations in relation to definition of its resource, with improvements in both size and category on a regular basis.

Peninsula is targeting 17mlb U3O8 in the indicated or better category (currently it has 9.2mlb indicated or better) by December 2010, which will enable completion of the DFS with 15mlb of saleable product.

Continued expansion of the resource is also likely, as indicated by recent drill results.

      Potential for Significant Scale:

Peninsula’s initial start-up at Lance is targeting 1.5mlb pa of production; however, additional scale is possible in the region as indicated by the large resource potential of up to 145mlb identified at the company’s Wyoming projects.

Drilling at the Karoo Project in South Africa is scheduled to begin shortly where a similar sized potential resource has been identified. Production is possible from South Africa by 2017.

The company could have 4-5mlb pa production before 2020, making it a significant producer at a time when the outlook for the commodity is bullish.

The broker are confident of a near term re-rating as the company continues to deliver on its objectives.
The broker rates Peninsula Minerals as a Buy with a price target of $0.09.

Peninsula Minerals reports Nuclear Regulatory Commission to visit the Ross Project

The United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will conduct a three day site visit in late October 2010 at Peninsula Mineral's (ASX: PEN) proposed Ross in situ uranium recovery (ISR) project site, the Ross Project.

Tony Simpson, chief operating officer, said, “We are pleased that NRC Staff have taken the initiative to travel to the Ross project site to meet with us and review what we believe is a first-class ISR license application."

The purpose of this visit is to ensure that Peninsula’s license application, via its wholly owned subsidiary Strata Energy Inc (Strata), contains the appropriate information required for NRC staff to conduct a detailed technical and environmental review so that a new operating license can be issued.

This is the first time NRC staff have visited an applicant’s project site to review a license application and it is anticipated that this visit and other initiatives will accelerate the grant of the required licenses.

Simpson added, "We believe that NRC staff will be impressed with the quality of the work produced by our licensing team and that this interim review will expedite the final review process.”

As a matter of policy, NRC staff will provide members of the public and interested stakeholders with the opportunity to attend this meeting and observe the NRC’s review process.

Members of the public and interested stakeholders are permitted to observe these meetings, but do not participate until the completion of the actions NRC staff are tasked with completing.

Peninsula Minerals reports NRC grants license for Wyoming Uranium facility

      Wednesday, October 06, 2010

Peninsula Minerals (ASX:PEN) has reported that the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has issued an operating license to Uranium One Americas, Inc. for the Moore Ranch in situ uranium recovery (ISR) facility in the Powder River Basin, Wyoming.

The NRC will conduct a three day site visit in late October 2010 at Peninsula's proposed Ross in situ uranium recovery (ISR) project site, the Ross Project.

The purpose of this visit is to ensure that Peninsula’s license application, via its wholly owned subsidiary Strata Energy Inc (Strata), contains the appropriate information required for NRC staff to conduct a detailed technical and environmental review so that a new operating license can be issued.

The grant of the Moore Ranch license is evidence of the NRC’s revised permitting policy for ISR mining operations in western USA which is designed to support an efficient and consistent approach to reviewing site-specific license applications for ISR facilities as well as to improve the efficiency of the regulatory bodies’ environmental reviews of these ISR applications.

Gus Simpson, executive chairman, said “the issue of the Moore Ranch operating license grant is exciting news for Peninsula as we move towards the final stage of our permitting process.”

The NRC’s review of the Uranium One Americas application included an environmental review published August 27 as a Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), which referenced the agency’s Generic Environmental Impact Statement for in situ leach uranium recovery facilities.

The review also included a Safety Evaluation Report, which concluded the proposed facility can operate safely, including management of radiological and chemical hazards, groundwater protection, and eventual cleanup and decommissioning.

The pro-active approach of Peninsula’s licensing team in combination with the streamlined regulatory process being implemented for ISR operations in the USA bodes well for the timely approval of the company’s applications and to date feedback from the regulatory bodies has been positive.

Peninsula is on track to have final permits and licenses submitted by December 2010, to complete the next iteration of the resource calculation prior to Christmas, finalize the DFS in the first quarter 2011 and the targeted commencement of mining in 2012.

Peninsula Minerals receives uranium supply requests from USA power utilities

Peninsula Minerals (ASX: PEN) has received formal Requests For Product (RFP) from three USA power utilities to supply uranium oxide from its Lance Projects in Wyoming.

Peninsula aims to secure the sale of U3O8 at an escalated fixed price, fixed quantity and term for the Lance Projects production, which is planned to commence in 2012.

Over the past twelve months Peninsula has engaged key utility and end user groups with the ultimate aim of securing long term sale and purchase agreements for U3O8 and is currently responding to the RFP’s it has received.

Gus Simpson, executive chairman, said “as Peninsula advances the permitting and DFS we are also negotiating long term sale agreements which will add to the company’s ability to achieve a more attractive funding outcome”.

Peninsula’s intention is to secure long-term agreements for more than 50% of its forecast uranium oxide product from Lance.

The company expects that these agreements will be put in place between the completion of the Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) and the debt financing arrangements being finalised.

Together with the completion of the DFS and permitting, the securing of long-term sale contracts will add to Peninsula’s ability to secure favourable project financing terms and maximise the debt component.

The next significant milestones for the company include submission of key permitting applications as well as a resource upgrade in December 2010, then completion of its DFS in January 2011, with a decision to mine likely in February 2011.

Peninsula is targeting 17mlb U3O8 in the indicated or better category (currently it has 9.2mlb indicated or better) by December 2010, which will enable completion of the DFS with 15mlb of saleable product.

Peninsula Minerals receives site visit at Ross Uranium Project from US Nuclear Regulatory Commission

The United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has completed a pre-license application submission review and site visit at Peninsula Minerals (ASX: PEN) proposed Ross uranium in situ recovery (ISR) site in Wyoming, USA.

The NRC review team stated that the license application was of good quality and made suggestions on how the application could be strengthened to facilitate a timely and efficient post-submission review.

This is the first time that NRC staff has visited a site for the purpose of conducting a pre-submission review to inform a proposed applicant, in this case Peninsula’s wholly owned subsidiary Strata Energy Inc (Strata), of the quality of its license application and to provide suggestions for further enhancement of the application’s data, analysis, and conclusions.

Tony Simpson, chief operating officer of Peninsula, said "We are pleased with the outcome of the review and will be implementing their suggestions into the final license application.”

The site visit included a tour of the Ross project area, pre-operational data gathering sites, facilities and a detailed two-day review of Strata’s license application, including its technical and environmental reports.

NRC staff will now prepare a detailed meeting summary to be made available to the public within 30 working days of the site visit.

Peninsula Minerals' significant uranium intersections add to Lance resource

Peninsula Minerals (ASX: PEN) has completed a further 46 development drillholes for a total of 28,050 feet at the Ross Project in Wyoming, USA, with the majority of results greater than 0.2GT located outside the current JORC resource, adding directly to the resource.

      Results include:

      - Hole RMR0753 intersected 43.5ft @ 245ppm U3O8 for GT 1.07;
      - Hole RMR0772 intersected 13ft @ 460ppm U3O8 for GT 0.60;
      - Hole RMR0777 intersected 26.5ft @ 210ppm U3O8 for GT 0.56; and
      - Hole RMR0780 intersected 28.5ft @ 190ppm U3O8 for GT 0.54;

The highlights of the drilling at Ross were drillhole RMR0753 which intersected 43.5ft @ 245ppm U3O8 (GT 1.07) including a peak intersection of 8ft @ 500 ppm.

      Drillhole RMR0772 intersected 13ft @ 460ppm U3O8 (GT 0.60) including a peak intersection of 4ft @ 840ppm U3O8.

      Drillhole RMR0777 intersected 26.5ft @ 210ppm U3O8 (GT 0.56) and drillhole RMR0780 which intersected 28.5ft @ 190ppm U3O8 (GT 0.54).

Current drilling at Ross is testing extensions of the known mineral zones identified by the 3D geological model, enhancing the grade and definition of the current 25,200,000 lb U3O8 JORC compliant resource and upgrading existing inferred resources to indicated status.

38 holes encountered significant mineralisation and a total of 25 holes recorded multiple stacked intersections of uranium mineralisation.

The focus of the drilling was within and adjacent to the resource zones in the Ross Permit area, and stepping out in the more sparsely drilled zones of Section 7.

Exploration drilling in Section 12 has also been successful in confirming the southern extensions of the large Area 05 stacked roll front system.

Results include GT’s of 0.53 (Hole RMR0788) and 0.37 (Hole RMR0786), indicating broad intervals of mid grade mineralisation.

Hartleys "bullish" on prospects for Peninsula Energy

Hartleys has penned a research report on ASX-listed Peninsula Energy (ASX: PEN).

"Peninsula is entering a period of increased activity, during which we expect strong newsflow related to significant catalysts. The newsflow is predominantly related to its 100% owned In Situ Recovery uranium projects located in Wyoming, USA (“Lance Projects”).

The Company has an exceptional track record of delivering on its goals and we expect this next phase of activity to be no different.

Dec 2010 – Lodging of Permitting Applications

Peninsula has recently conducted a site visit for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (”NRC”). The Company has been conducting quarterly meetings with the NRC and the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (“WDEQ”) and is on track to submit the crucial permitting applications required to mine and process uranium at its Lance Projects.

Jan 2011 – Permitting Review and Acceptance

The site visit mentioned above was the first such visit to site by the NRC to any project and the feedback on how PEN is running its operation and assembling its permitting applications was very positive. The review and acceptance of the permitting applications indicates that the documents have been properly constructed and that there are no significant omissions. This process can take up to 90 days; however, due to PEN’s proactive approach in involving the NRC and WDEQ at an early stage, this timeframe may be shortened.

Jan 2011 - Cornerstone Investor Possible

The Company has flagged that it plans to bring in a strategic cornerstone investor to assist with funding of the Lance Projects. Predicting the timing of such negotiations can be tricky; however, we believe it is possible for a deal to be made in the near term.

      Jan 2011 - Resource Upgrade

Peninsula continues to progress the expansion and definition of its resource at its two most advanced projects, Ross and Barber. Drilling results to date have been good, as per our expectation. Significantly, the Company is currently employing two diamond drill rigs to take core in order to more accurately determine the Vanadium potential at Lance.

Feb 2011 – Completion of Definitive Feasibility

The Company is on track to complete its Definitive Feasibility Study ““DFS”) in February 2011. The Pre-Feasibility Study showed robust economics and we expect the DFS will support the commencement of development of the project.

This may enable PEN to order long lead items and start some pre-construction activity. Full construction cannot commence until applications are granted.

Uranium Price Up 45% in Last 6 Months (US$42/lb to US$61/lb)

The entire sector is currently being re-rated due to increasing uranium prices resultant from recognition of the shift in the global energy supply equation towards nuclear power. PEN is in an enviable position, having a mature project on the cusp of development and first production scheduled for mid 2012.

With strong newsflow likely over the next few months, we expect further share price appreciation and believe that it is an ideal time to invest.

Hartleys said we continue to recommend Peninsula Energy Ltd as a Buy with a 3-month price target of 9cps."

Peninsula has not yet announced which project the majority of the potential inflow of funds will be allocated to, but in October the company announced significant mineralisation was encountered in 40 of the 56 holes at the Lance drilling campaign at the Ross Project.

      High grade highlights included:

      - 5.5m at 650ppm U3O8 for GT 1.21;
      - 4.5m at 500ppm U3O8 for GT 0.73;
      - 5.5m at 385ppm U3O8 for GT 0.69; and
      - 4m at 490ppm U3O8 for GT 0.66.

Of major significance, the majority of results greater than 0.2GT are located outside the current JORC resource, which potentially could significantly increase the 11,400 tonne U3O8 resource.

The broker Hartleys said earlier in the month regarding Peninsula, "Peninsula is entering a period of increased activity, during which we expect strong newsflow related to significant catalysts.

"The newsflow is predominantly related to its 100% owned In Situ Recovery uranium projects located in Wyoming, USA (“Lance Projects”)."

Hartleys added that they continue to recommend the company with a three month price target of $0.09.

      Peninsula last traded at $0.08.

      PENINSULA COMPLETES MAJOR REGULATORY MILESTONE

Peninsula Energy Limited (Peninsula) is pleased to announce that it has, through its wholly
owned US subsidiary Strata Energy Inc (Strata), completed a major regulatory milestone with
the submission of its application to the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for a
Combined Source and 11e.(2) Byproduct Material License.

The December 31, 2010 application requests authorization to construct and operate an in-situ
uranium recovery (ISR) facility at Peninsula’s Ross ISR Project, located near Oshoto, in northeastern
Wyoming (Ross Project). The proposed facility would consist of wellfields, pipelines and
a central plant to process extracted uranium into yellowcake for commercial use in nuclear
      power plants.

Peninsula is targeting commencement of uranium mining at the Ross Project in 2012, joining
other successful uranium producers in Wyoming whose efforts are spearheading domestic
energy development in the U.S. using the most environmentally benign uranium recovery
      process available.

The submission of the license application follows approximately 25 months of drilling, baseline
testing, data analysis, resource modeling, process design, and public outreach and was
prepared in accordance with relevant NRC regulations and guidance. Strata also reviewed
requests for additional information (RAIs) from NRC Staff to current ISR licensees and license
applicants to ensure that the information requested, where appropriate, was included in
Strata’s own data sets and analysis.

The process involved public outreach to interested stakeholders in the proposed Ross project
area and to the broader community beyond to identify and acknowledge any public
concerns and to include appropriate measures in its license application to address all of those
concerns. As previously announced, in October of 2010 the NRC conducted an
unprecedented on-site visit and pre-license application submission review of Strata’s proposed
license application to identify any major acceptance or technical/environmental review
issues. Feedback from that critical review was then incorporated into the final license
      application package.

Peninsula’s Chief Operating Officer Tony Simpson said he is pleased with the efforts of the
Wyoming-based permitting team in preparing the application for submission in just one year.
“We set a very aggressive schedule for this project, and we are confident that what we are
delivering to the NRC is a very comprehensive, technically complete and publicly vetted
      submission.”

The history of uranium development in the proposed Ross project area extends back to the
late 1960s, when some 5,000 exploration holes were drilled and an ISR research and
development plant was constructed in the area by a joint venture between Nuclear Dynamics
      and Bethlehem Steel (NuBeth).

Strata purchased the complete database for the NuBeth project containing, among other
things, the original electronic drill logs, permitting application and approvals, plant operating
reports and plant closure reports. The information contained in the database, combined with
additional data gathered and analyzed by Strata, confirms significant uranium mineralization
and hydrogeological conditions conducive to the ISR method.

Building on this information, Strata has applied state-of-the-art technology to a proven uranium
recovery method through the use of sophisticated geological and hydrological modelling
      systems.

Strata commenced an independent feasibility study in December of 2009 with the
development of a 5,200+-hole, computer-based geologic model. Strata used cutting-edge
well installation methods and hydrologic instrumentation systems to develop pre-operational
baseline characteristics of the proposed Ross ISR site, which forms part of the total project area
and the first proposed area to be permitted for production.

The comprehensive application package is available for public review at the Crook County
Public Library at 414 Main Street and the Crook County Courthouse at 309 Cleveland Street in
Sundance, Wyoming; and at the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality offices at
2100 W. 5th Street in Sheridan, Wyoming and 122 W. 25th Street in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Strata will deliver hard copies of its NRC license application to the NRC at a public meeting in
Washington, DC on Tuesday, January 4. Information on this and future NRC public meetings will
be posted at http://www.nrc.gov/public-involve/public-meetings/index.cfm. The NRC will then
conduct an “acceptance review” to ensure that the application is complete. If the
application is deemed complete, it will be accepted for detailed technical and
      environmental review.

Peninsula Energy Limited (Peninsula) is pleased to announce that it has now received the
necessary approvals from the Department of Mineral Resources (DMR) which will enable
resource development drilling to commence at the Karoo Project Sites 22 and 29 in South
      Africa (Karoo Projects).

Formal notification was received from the DMR that the required Environmental
Management Plans (EMPs) and Prospecting Work Programmes (PWPs) for Sites 22 and 29
had been approved. The EMP for Site 37 has also been approved and the Company has
been informed by the DMR that the processing of the PWP is imminent.

The drilling programme is expected to commence by 24 January 2011, initially at Site 29,
and is planned to operate over four phases. Ten high ranking drill targets have been
prioritised, distributed across all six of the Company’s Project Areas, from the 392 uranium occurrences generated by the helicopter-borne radiometric and magnetic surveys, site mapping, ground sampling and aerial extent studies of the project areas.

Further targets have been recently identified following location and review of exploration reports compiled by Union Carbide from their uranium exploration programme
conducted during the 1970s and early 1980s. Peninsula obtained these reports from the
South African Nuclear Energy Corporation during the September quarter.

      Drilling Programme
Sites 22, 29 and 45 contain historical mineral estimates based on drilling by JCI and Union Carbide during the 1970’s. The first Phase of the drilling programme will be focused on a selection of the JCI and Union Carbide drill holes that will be re-drilled and logged to determine uranium correlations in order to confirm the historical resources. Should these results prove positive Phase 2 drilling will commence.

During Phase 2 of the programme all new surface uranium occurrences within the
selected drilling areas will be subjected to an initial drilling programme to confirm
subsurface extension of the mineralisation and to determine grades.

Should the Phase 2 programme results prove positive Phase 3 will be implemented,
consisting of the drilling of widely spaced borehole grids to delineate the lateral extent, thickness and grade of the mineralisation.

The Phase 4 programme will consist of in-fill drilling on a more closely spaced grid than utilised in Phase 3 in order to produce a JORC compliant resource.

Over 1,000 holes were drilled by Union Carbide and JCI on Sites 22 and 29 respectively
and follow up exploration work has identified numerous other untested uranium
      occurrences.

Data capture from the historical JCI and Union Carbide boreholes has been
finalised and the data formatted for use in Gemcom to enable 3-D modelling of the
historically delineated ore bodies. This process will facilitate appropriate borehole
positioning during the drilling programme as well as expedite resource calculations.
Following successful completion of the full four phase drilling programme a feasibility study will then be undertaken.

Peninsula Executive Chairman Gus Simpson said “After a lengthy process we are very
pleased to be able to commence the confirmation and delineation drilling programme at
the Karoo. The programme has been to designed to both delineate a JORC compliant
resource as well as to test the significant exploration potential we believe exists across the 6 projects”.

      Karoo Projects – Exploration Potential

The preliminary geological studies have estimated a combined exploration potential in
      the Karoo of 30-60m tonnes @ 700 – 1,400ppm U3O8 for 90 – 150m lbs U3O8. Although the
potential for mineralised channels to be stacked vertically has not been fully tested at any of the project areas, mapping has identified its presence at five of the six project areas.

The goal over the next 18 months is to delineate 30mlbs of U3O8 (15-25m tonnes @ 700 –
1,400ppm U3O8) which will include the historically drilled deposits, their extensions and new exploration targets. The preliminary conceptual study has suggested that this quantity of uranium would likely support a development around a central processing facility near Site 29.

The preliminary geological studies have estimated a combined exploration potential in the Karoo of 30-60 million tonnes at 700 – 1,400 parts per million (ppm) uranium( U3O8) for 90 – 150m pounds (lbs) U3O8.

Although the potential for mineralised channels to be stacked vertically has not been fully tested at any of the project areas, mapping has identified its presence at five of the six project areas.

Over the next 18 months the company's goal is to delineate 30mlbs of U3O8 (15-25m tonnes @ 700 – 1,400ppm U3O8) which will include the historically drilled deposits, their extensions and new exploration targets.

The preliminary conceptual study has suggested that this quantity of uranium would likely support a development around a central processing facility near Site 29.

Peninsula Energy rated a BUY from Hartleys with a $0.12 price target

The following is an extract of a research report by Hartleys on Peninsula Energy (ASX: PEN).

Hartleys has increased its price target to $0.12 from $0.09.

Uranium developer / explorer, Peninsula Energy (ASX: PEN) has continued its track record of delivery on its goals, having achieved significant milestones at its 100% owned Lance In Situ Recovery Uranium Project in the USA.

The company has attracted a cornerstone investment of $21.6 million from specialist resources private equity group Pala Investments AG.

Pala agreed to provide a A$100 million line of equity, providing Peninsula with the option around development funding and growth strategy.

Peninsula also placed an additional $10 million to institutional investors. All shares were placed at $0.075 with a 1 for 2 attaching option with a strike of $0.03.

Two key regulatory milestones have been achieved with the submission of the Combined Source and Byproduct Material License application as well as the Permit to Mine application.

These form the main permits required for commencement of development and then production.

The Material License application is submitted to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), who recently visited site.

This was the first site visit by the NRC to any uranium project.

The Permit to Mine is submitted to the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (WDEQ).

The company has been able to complete its milestones very close to, and often ahead of, it's predicted schedule and remains on track for first production in 2012.

Hartleys rate Peninsula as a BUY and have increased its price target to $0.12 from $0.09.

      Peninsula last traded at $0.10.

Peninsula Energy hits more uranium at Lance, JORC Resource set to increase

January 24, 2011 By sgam Leave a Comment

Peninsula Energy (ASX: PEN) has hit more uranium mineralisation at the Lance Projects in Wyoming, USA.

Drilling confirms a stacked mineralised roll front system, which Peninsula said can be progressively converted to Indicated from Inferred classification.

Latest highlights include; 5.2 metres at 570 parts per million (ppm) uranium, 5.8 metres at 454ppm uranium and 9.1 metres at 256ppm uranium.

The drilling program covered 48 development holes for 9700 metres, at the Ross permit.

Current drilling at Ross is testing extensions of the known mineral zones identified by the 3D geological model.

This is to boost the grade and definition of the current; 25.2 million pound uranium JORC Resource.

Peninsula is also using a diamond drill rig to obtain core samples for metallurgical testing, which will more accurately determine the vanadium potential at Ross.

      Peninsula upgrades Lance resources

      04 February 2011

Australia-based exploration company Peninsula Energy has announced a 31% increase in total resources at its Lance uranium projects in Wyoming, USA. The company has applied for a licence to mine the Ross project at the deposit.

Peninsula said that a further upgrade to the JORC-compliant resource estimate for the Lance uranium projects in Wyoming's Powder River Basin puts total resources at 33 million pounds U3O8 (12,700 tU).

The company said that since the release of the updated resource estimate in August 2010, it has continued resource conversion and exploration drilling with the completion of a further 223 drill holes mostly within or near the Ross permit area.

There was a 14% increase in measured and indicated resources from 9.2 million pounds U3O8 (3540 tU) to 10.5 million pounds U3O8 (4040 tU). The company said that measured and indicated resources comprise 32% of the total resource estimate. At Ross there is a combined measured, indicated and inferred resource of 22 million pounds U3O8 (8460 tU), an increase of 36% from the August 2010 update. The average ore grade at Ross is 453 parts per million (ppm) uranium.

Peninsula said that the measured, indicated and inferred resources are located in confined aquifers that "have demonstrated positive in-situ recovery test-work." It added, "The positive results to date provide further confidence that mining will commence within the targeted time-frame (assuming regulatory approval timeframes and funding options are achieved) with production continuing over an extended mine-life."

On 13 January 2011, Peninsula submitted an application to the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality for a permit to construct and operate an in situ leach (ISL) facility at Ross. The company had previously submitted an application to the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission for a combined source and by-product material licence. Peninsula said that these authorizations "are the two key regulatory permits required for the development and commencement of production at the proposed Ross ISL project."

The company is targeting the start of uranium mining at the Ross project in 2012, with planned production of 1.5 million pounds U3O8 (580 tU) per year.

Peninsula Energy wins first uranium sales agreement with major U.S. utility

      Wednesday, February 16, 2011

Peninsula Energy (ASX: PEN) has targeted 2012 to begin producing uranium from the Lance projects, with a first sales agreement to supply 1.15 million pounds of uranium oxide over seven years to a Tier 1 power utility in the U.S. a significant milestone.

The deal will render Peninsula as one of the largest producers of uranium in the U.S. when production is ramped up at the Lance projects.

The terms of the sale agreement will see Peninsula supply U3O8 over a period of 7 years. The agreement has been struck at an escalated fixed price, fixed quantity and term.

The weighted average contract pricing over the term of the contract is consistent with the average term price used in the PFS.

This is a major positive for the company as the uranium price continues to increase, and is currently around US$73 a pound, up over 80% for the recent lows in mid-2010.

Production is targeted to commence at Lance in 2012 and build to 1.5 million pounds of U3O8 per year, with a plant capacity of 3 million pounds annually.

The agreement is a result of the company's proactive approach in 2010 which aimed at securing sales agreements, with negotiations continuing with other groups involved in the nuclear power industry.

Peninsula is likely to sign additional sales agreements with large utilities in the U.S.

Peninsula’s executive chairman Gus Simpson said “The agreement is an important milestone for Peninsula and the company."

Peninsula Energy has $0.18 price target by Hartleys, rated a BUY

Below is an extract from a Hartley broker report.

Target price: $0.18 in three months
      Last traded: $0.15

Not Just Riding the Uranium Wave – Sales Secured:

Peninsula Energy (ASX: PEN) has announced a significant sales agreement to supply 1.15mlb U3O8 to a large (unnamed US utility).

The agreement is for supply over 7 years (~165klb per annum).

This does several important things for PEN:

      - Firstly, it cements a base price for its product (which is consistent with the average PFS price of US$74 per lb); and
      - Secondly, it indicates a high level of industry certainty regarding the development of the Company’s Lance Projects (production slated for 2012, decision to mine expected in H1 2011).

The transaction leaves room for additional contracts, including a majority supply agreement with an offtake partner that may also participate in future funding requirements.

The company remains well funded for all activities in the near term.

Peninsula is not just riding the wave from the recent uplift in uranium price (although it is perfectly positioned to benefit from it) but is continuing to make significant progress towards first production from its 100% owned Lance Projects, onshore USA.

The company has recently submitted key permitting applications, upgraded its resource and obtained cornerstone investment from Pala Investments Ltd.

Significant Future Newsflow Likely to Maintain Momentum Peninsula has many catalysts over the coming months, including; completion of definitive feasibility (April), decision to mine, initial drilling results from the Karoo, acceptance of key permitting documents, continued resource upgrades and potential growth driven by acquisitions or new permits.

This strong newsflow, combined with strength in the sector, should result in continued re-rating to both our valuation and price target.

      Price Target Increased to $0.16:

We have tweaked our model based on the sales price achieved and decreased the dilution effect of any future financing due to the increased share price.

The result is an increase in our valuation from $0.17 to $0.18, and we have increased our price target from $0.14 to $0.16.

As previously mentioned, continued delivery on milestones will result in reratings to our valuation as we remove risk discounts associated with the significant upside potential in the company’s asset portfolio.

This upside potential already makes up more than half of our valuation; however, historical drilling and mineralisation gives a relatively high degree of confidence for proving up of substantially increased JORC resources.

Hartleys rate Peninsula Energy as a BUY.

Peninsula Energy's new high grade uranium hits at Lance bode well for JORC Resource upgrade

Peninsula Energy (ASX: PEN) has intersected more high grade uranium at the Ross Project with drilling continuing to convert the inferred resource to indicated JORC compliant resource status.

The company has now completed a further 55 development drill holes for a total of 38,960 feet at Ross, within the Lance project in Wyoming, USA.

Drilling intersected 21 feet at 378 parts per million (ppm) uranium U3O8 for GT 0.79 and 22.5ft at 252ppm U3O8 for GT 0.57.

      Other results include:

      - 8ft at 820ppm U3O8 for GT 0.66;
      - 6ft at 730ppm U3O8 for GT 0.44;
      -11.5ft at 360ppm U3O8 for GT 0.41.

Results will also add to inferred resources at next resource upgrade which will boost the grade and definition of the current; 25.2 million pound uranium JORC Resource.

The drilling program will be expanded with second rig deployed at Ross and a third planned for Barber within the next quarter.

The company said these results are reporting a significantly increased percentage of ore grade holes "due to an improving geological model which forms the basis of on-going drill planning."
