CAIRO, March 31 (Reuters) - Egyptian ceramics company Lecico approved a dividend of 1.5 Egyptian pounds ($0.27) per share, it said on Wednesday.
It also said it would increase its issued and paid-up capital to 300 million pounds from 200 million pounds via a 50 percent bonus issue.
'The bonus issue is being done in an effort to improve our liquidity and make our share more appealing to retail investors,' Lecico's Chairman Gilbert Gargour said in a statement.

CAIRO, Aug 5 (Reuters) - Egyptian sanitary ware and ceramics maker Lecico posted a decline in second-quarter revenue and net profit on Thursday, hit by costs from a fire at one of its export warehouses.
Lecico exports a third of its sanitary ware including toilets and sinks and has a significant presence in Britain and France. It said continued weakness of the euro and sterling also lowered revenue.
The firm posted net profit of 25.7 million Egyptian pounds ($4.52 million) for the second quarter of 2010, a 15 percent decline from a year earlier. Revenue was 255.7 million pounds for the quarter, a drop of 6 percent.
The fire caused damage worth 70 million Egyptian pounds, the firm said in June.
'It will take us some time to rebuild the ceramic stock lost in the fire and accordingly our flexibility to respond to sudden demand shifts,' Chairman Gilbert Gargour said in a statement.
The company said an increase in energy prices for non energy-intensive industries in Egypt from July 1 would raise Lecico's costs and it would increase those higher costs and currency fluctuations.
It said it was concerned about potential overcapacity with new entrants into the Egyptian ceramics market, but added that it expected to see growth in export volumes to the Middle East and Europe from the third quarter onwards.
Lecico shares were trading up 1.4 percent by 0745 GMT, while the benchmark index was up 1.2 percent.

CAIRO, Nov 8 (Reuters) - Egyptian ceramics maker Lecico posted a 5 percent increase in third-quarter net profit on Monday, reversing a decline in the second quarter when it was hit by costs from a fire at an export warehouse.
The company reported net profit of 30.9 million Egyptian pounds ($5.41 million). Revenue for the third quarter fell 7 percent to 254 million pounds, it said in a statement. ($1=5.713 Egyptian Pound)

Egypt's Lecico Q4 net falls, sees weak 2011
Thu Feb 24, 2011 9:30am GMT
CAIRO (Reuters) - Egyptian ceramics maker Lecico said fourth-quarter net profit tumbled on weaker European demand and higher provisions, and warned 2011 could also be difficult.
"I believe we should expect continued weakness in 2011 with European demand slower and Egyptian sales probably very weak until we see political progress," Lecico said in a statement.
Much of Egypt's economy ground to a halt after the political protests that ousted President Hosni Mubarak erupted on January 25, and has been only slowly returning to normality.
Fourth-quarter consolidated and unaudited net profit fell 61 percent to 11.1 million pounds on weaker demand in its European markets, and additional provisions and finance charges of 11.2 million pounds, it said in a statement.
Lecico said it took a 7.5 million pound provision for claims related to a warehouse fire in June.
Unaudited consolidated net profit for 2010 dropped 14.3 percent to 94.4 million pounds, and net revenue fell 3.7 percent to 1.02 billion, the statement said.
Lecico exports more than half its sanitary ware production and has a significant presence in Britain and other European markets. Most of its exports are branded under the Lecico name, although it also produces for other European brands.
The board is also seeking regulatory and shareholder approval to issue one share for every three existing shares, the firm said.

2011er Zahlen waren negativ; keine Dividende
"Gratis"aktien 3:1.
