      March 3, 2011

Vancouver, British Columbia - Kimber Resources Inc. (NYSE Amex:KBX, TSX:KBR) is pleased to announce results from a further ten holes from its reverse circulation drilling program at the Carmen deposit at its Monterde Project in Mexico. The ten holes were drilled along the northern end of the main Carmen structure and along the main splay, within the limits of the existing resource of the Carmen deposit. No visible sulphides were noted in any of the drill holes. The holes were designed to intersect the Carmen structure and its main splay vertically between previously reported drill hole intercepts and surface trenches; these holes achieved their objective in each case.

dazu noch die quartalsergebnisse vom 16.2.2011

VANCOUVER, Feb. 16 /CNW/ - Kimber Resources Inc. (NYSE Amex: KBX)(TSX: KBR) today announced its financial results for the three and six months ended December 31, 2010 which were prepared in accordance with Canadian generally accepted accounting principles. All amounts in this news release are in Canadian dollars. Kimber's interim unaudited consolidated financial statements and management's discussion & analysis for the three and six months ended December 31, 2010, are available on SEDAR at www.sedar.com and on EDGAR at www.sec.gov/edgar.shtml

Kimber had working capital of $13.74 million, including $13.73 million in cash, as of December 31, 2010, a significant increase over the $4.50 million as of June 30, 2010. Kimber's net loss for the three months ended December 31, 2010 was $636,114 or $0.01 per common share compared with a net loss of $541,303 or $0.01 loss per share for the three months ended December 31, 2009.

Kimber's shareholders' equity increased by $11.13 million during the three months ended December 31, 2010 primarily due to a public offering of shares offset by ongoing expenditures. Certain expenditures, mainly related to exploration and technical advancement at Monterde, were capitalized as unproven mineral right interests.

"During the three months ended December 31, 2010 Kimber successfully completed a public offering with gross proceeds of $12.7 million and released high grade gold-silver surface trench results at the Carmen Deposit which supported continuity of mineralization and showed potential for extension along strike south of Carmen," said Gordon Cummings, President & CEO of Kimber. "Kimber has now commenced work to complete a pre-feasibility study in 2011 and is progressing with a 30,000 metre drill program to upgrade and expand gold-silver mineral resources at depth and along strike at the existing deposits and to drill test three new targets with potential to host new discoveries that are located less than three kilometres north of the mineral resources in the Carmen structure."

      Hi Barti,

Kimber Resources reports results of Mexican drilling program

Kimber Resources has reported results from a further 12 holes from its reverse circulation drilling program at its Monterde project in Mexico.

Six holes were drilled at the southern end of the main Carmen and Cob structures and six holes were drilled on three new targets within 2km of the main Carmen deposit: La Verde, Veta Norte and Estructura 0409.

The company said that the most southerly of the three holes drilled at the new La Verde target intercepted 6m of 85g/t silver approximately 60m below surface.

In-fill drill results at Carmen are in line with expectations and core drilling is now underway to target deeper portions of the main Carmen structure to test for high grade gold-silver mineralization that could be mined underground.

A three hole program was completed on the La Verde structure to test the silver mineralization identified in surface sampling in 2010.

A 6m interval averaging 85.3 g/t of silver was returned from drill hole MTR-464.

The two reverse circulation holes (MTR-467 and MTR-470) drilled on sections 25 and 27, at the southern end of the current mineral resource model, intercepted 6m of 0.45g/t gold and 107g/t silver and 10m of 2.18g/t gold and 98g/t silver, respectively

Kimber Intercepts 5.2 Metres Of 51.9 G/T Gold And 1,076 G/T Silver Below Carmen Gold-Silver Deposit, Monterde Project

Hole MTRD-477 hits multiple structures below previous drilling, improving potential for underground extraction of Carmen Deep areas

Vancouver, British Columbia - Kimber Resources Inc. (NYSE Amex:KBX, TSX:KBR) is pleased to announce the results of a further 8 drill holes from its ongoing drill program at the Carmen Deposit at its Monterde Project in Mexico. Hole MTRD-477 was drilled with the objective of expanding and upgrading mineral resources potentially amenable to underground extraction ("Carmen Deep" target) and intersected multiple high grade zones of gold-silver mineralization, as detailed below. Seven of the drill holes (MTR-483 to 489) were drilled to increase the confidence level of shallow mineral resources potentially amenable to open pit extraction ("Carmen Pit" targets). These seven holes returned results in line with expectations and will support increased confidence in mineral resources in the Carmen Pit areas.

"We are extremely pleased with these most recent results from drilling at the Carmen deposit," said Gordon Cummings, President and CEO of Kimber Resources. "Hole MTRD-477 had a number of high grade gold-silver intercepts involving multiple structures, including one of the best high-grade gold-silver drill intercepts ever recorded at Monterde, returning 5.2 metres of 51.9 g/t gold and 1,076.7 g/t silver from the Hilos structure within the Carmen Deposit. This intercept, drilled with core, contained visible gold and also includes 1.3 metres of 188.5 g/t gold and 3,770 g/t silver. Two additional intercepts (of 0.9 metres of 44.5 g/t gold and 38.2 g/t silver and 1.2 metres of 28.2 g/t gold and 26.0 g/t silver) are interpreted to have come from the main Carmen structure, 40 metres below previous drilling, and are associated with strong sulphide veining," he said. "These high grade intercepts are very positive and indicate potential to expand high grade gold-silver mineral resources in Carmen Deep areas."

Kimber Resource stock soars on exploration results at Monterde project in Mexico

      By The Canadian Press

VANCOUVER - Kimber Resources Inc.(TSX:KBR) said Thursday that recent drilling results have disclosed multiple high-grade zones of gold-silver mineralization at the Carmen deposit at its Monterde project in Mexico.

Stock in the Vancouver-based exploration-stage miner, which had been halted pending news, was up 23 cents, or 19 per cent, at $1.44 a share after trading resumed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

"We are extremely pleased with these most recent results from drilling at the Carmen deposit," president and CEO Gordon Cummings said in a release.

"Hole MTRD-477 had a number of high grade gold-silver intercepts involving multiple structures, including one of the best high-grade gold-silver drill intercepts ever recorded at Monterde..." he said.

"These high-grade intercepts are very positive and indicate potential to expand high grade gold-silver mineral resources in Carmen deep areas."

Kimber owns mineral concessions covering more than 39,000 hectares in the prospective Sierra Madre gold-silver belt, including the Monterde property, where three gold-silver mineral resources have already been defined.

Kimber stock climbs on gold-silver intercepts

A couple of high grade gold and silver drilling results from Mexico have given Kimber Resources' share price - and its management - a quick shot of adrenaline.

      HALIFAX, NS -

With the release of two drillhole assays over the past six days showing high-grade gold within and below its Carmen deposit in the Sierra Madres of Mexico, Kimber Resources' (TSX: KBR) share price rocketed up nearly 60 percent.

The rally began Thursday, May 26 after Kimber noted it had intercepted a record 5 metres @ 51.9 g/t gold and 1,076.7 g/t silver within its Carmen deposit at its Monterde property, which holds some 3.6 million indicated tonnes @ 4.19 g/t Au and 165.2 g/t Ag, for 492,900 ounces gold and 19.4 million ounces silver.

Kimber also announced it had hit two other intercepts about 40 metres into untested ground below the main Carmen structure. It hit two 1 metre intercepts respectively @ 44.5 g/t Au and 38.2 g/t Ag and 28.2 g/t Au and 26.0 g/t Ag.

News of the record intercept and deeper gold and silver boosted Kimber's shareprice from around $1.20 to over $1.60.

It got a second boost starting early in the trading day Tuesday, May 31. On news Kimber had hit high grade gold and silver 100 metres below the Carmen deposit, at a depth of 425 metres, its shareprice pushed over $1.90 at one point and was trading at $1.80 as of presstime. Hole 476 cut as much as 5 metres @ 78.4 g/t Au and 127.9 g/t Ag.

In a press release Kimber president and CEO Gordon Cummings framed the drilling results in terms of resource expansion, calling that potential "significant" in newly discovered mineralization in the Carmen Deeps areas. To that end Cummings noted Kimber was planning additional drillholes to test further extensions at depth.

      A Carmen mine

Last June Kimber sketched out a mine at Monterde, centered around the Carmen deposit, in a scoping study that proposed an underground-open-pit combo with pre-production capital costs of $111.4 million and a 13.4 year mine-life. (Carmen holds the bulk of resources as part of Kimber's larger Monterde project.)

According to the study, Kimber would mine at a 2,500-tonne-per-day rate for the first 10 years in open-pit and underground mines, and then shift to underground-only at a 1,500-tonne-per-day rate for the remaining 3.4 years. Each year, over the life of the mine, Kimber would produce 60,600 ounces gold and 1.60 million ounces silver.

Presumably, however, additional high grade gold and silver resources at depth could add to the project's mine-life, or give Kimber reason to consider increasing throughput. That in turn has the potential to better project economics.

The scoping study pegged total cash costs, including capital costs, at $546 per ounce gold and projected a $99 million after-tax net present value discounted at eight percent. Payback would come after 4.1 years, though this might improve if the financial case were updated. The scoping study factored in precious metal prices of $875 per ounce gold and $14 per ounce silver - highly conservative figures for a scoping study these days.

Mexican gold/silver project gets leaner and meaner for Kimber Resources

      HALIFAX, NS -

Kimber Resources (TSX: KBR) overhauled its Monterde gold project in Mexico sacrificing some gold and silver production to save a big chunk on projected mining costs in an updated scoping study. In redesigning the combined open-pit and underground mining project Kimber slashed 42 percent from open-pit operating costs from $29.94 to $14.50 per tonne.

To get there Kimber attacked a bulky, 13.8 to 1, waste-to-ore stripping ratio projected in the June 2010 scoping study. It cut that by more than half to 6.25 to 1 by significantly shrinking the size of the open-pit design.

Kimber also shaved 10 percent off last year's pre-production capital costs of $111 million, bringing the initial pricetag down to $100 million.

In pushing costs down, Kimber did forego some potential gold and silver production, however. Over a 13.8-year mine life, last year Kimber estimated it would churn out 812,700 ounces gold and 21.4 million ounces silver.

But now the updated scoping study would have Kimber produce 748,100 ounces gold and 20.6 million ounces silver over a 15.5-year mine life. Respectively that translates into a 7.9- and 3.9-percent decline in production over the life of the Monterde project.

But the downward adjustment of gold and silver production would, for Kimber, nonetheless appear worth the savings made on mine costs. "These improvements have reduced both the open pit cash costs per tonne and project capital expenditures, leading to a faster payback and higher internal rate of return (IRR), even when using the 2010 PA gold and silver price estimates," said Gordon Cummings, Kimber president and CEO, in a prepared statement.

Kimber, in the 2011 scoping, estimated a 41 percent after-tax IRR and a $212 million net present value discounted at eight percent with payback after two years based on precious metal prices of $1,100 per ounce gold and $19 per ounce silver.

Cummings also noted the new scoping study did not pull in drilling results from 2011, some of which have shown high grades of gold and silver below the open-pit shell of the Carmen deposit, the heart of the Monterde project's mineralization.

Kimber, according to the project design as currently configured, would mine via both open-pit and underground for the first 9.3 years, and then shift to underground mining only for the remaining six or so years. During those first nine years annual production would average 58,400 ounces gold and 1.9 million ounces silver, which is respectively 16 and 50 percent above the life of mine average.

Kimber intersects 11g/t gold over 10 metres at Carmen, expands drill program
Saturday, August 20, 2011 by Deborah Sterescu

Gold producer Kimber Resources (TSE:KBR) reported on-going drill results from the Carmen deposit at its Monterde project in Mexico Monday, with another high-grade gold-silver intercept, prompting it to expand its drilling program.

The diamond core and reverse circulation holes were intended to expand and upgrade mineral resources potentially amenable to underground extraction.

Highlights include drill Hole MTC-117, which intersected 10 meters averaging 11 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold and 3.6 g/t of silver at a depth of 584 meters.

The hole intersected base metal veins similar to hole MTRD-476, but with lesser grades of lead, zinc and copper, the company said.

Kimber also said the intersection extends the Carmen structure, and confirms the geological environment in the structure is favourable for high grade gold-silver mineralization.

"Based on the excellent results of the Carmen Deep program this year, we have expanded the size of the original drill program from 30,000 metres to 38,000 metres adding a further 10 holes,” said CEO Gordon Cummings in a statement.

Kimber added drilling is expected to continue for the rest of the year, while the program may be further expanded, depending on results.

Meanwhile, drill Hole MTRD-474 was designed to test Carmen’s structure at depth on section 32, but due to deflection in the drill hole, it intersected the trace of section 33.5. The company said moderate grades were found.

“It is interpreted that the Carmen Zone at that location has been displaced by faulting and may be positioned elsewhere,” Kimber said.

Step out drilling will resume over the next four to six weeks around the discovery in holes MTC-117 and MTRD-476, to define the extent of the high grade, high sulphide mineralization in the area.

Kimber owns mineral concessions covering in excess of 39,000 hectares in the Sierra Madre gold-silver belt in Mexico, including the Monterde property, where three gold-silver mineral resources have already been defined. A pre-feasibility report is expected for Monterde this year.

Kimber Resources Monterde Project Hints At Another Major Discovery

With a market cap of just $140 million, Kimber Resources (KBX) is easy to overlook as a player among Mexican gold miners. But with measured and indicated gold resources of 770k ounces, 39 million ounces of silver, and a lot of exploration left to do, Kimber is at the sweet spot of the junior miner price cycle, as a couple of good drilling results could send the stock significantly higher.

Kimber is not for the faint of heart, as the company currently has no production and has more or less ceased drilling at its other properties to focus on defining the high grade gold resource indicated by its 2011 drilling results at Monterde. Having recently completed a $10 million dollar capital raise, the company has sufficient capital to continue its drill program for the near future. Further drilling should add more high grade resource at depth in addition to identifying attractive new areas for further exploration.

Initial drill results have been very encouraging, pointing to the potential for a high-grade, low cost reserve with a lot of areas yet to be explored. The grade appears to be growing significantly at depth, with highlights including a 5 meter section at 78.4 g/t Au and another 5 meter section boasting 52 g/t Au with over 1000 g/t Ag. Moreover, the Monterde Project is located in the heart of one of the world's most prolific mining districts, encircled by several new projects owned by the majors. Coeur d'Alene's (CDE) new Palmarejo project is less than 50 miles to the south. Palmarejo commenced production in 2009 and is expected to produce 120k ounces of gold and 9 million ounces of silver annually at full production, with considerable exploration still underway. Reserves at Palmarejo currently measure 870k ounces of gold and over 71 million ounces of silver. Likewise, Aurico's (AUQ) Ocampo project is just to the north, and is currently on track to deliver approximately 250k gold equivalent ounces annually. Ocampo already has 2.1 million gold equivalent ounces of reserves and exploration continues with significant upward revision to reserves likely. Finally, Agnico-Eagle's (AEM) Pinos Altos project is also next door and boasts current production of 168k ounces of gold with 3.3 million ounces of gold reserves as well as 92 million ounces of silver reserves. Pinos Altos also commenced production in 2009 and has a number of drilling targets that have not yet been explored.

Obviously, the small size of Kimber and the lack of cash means that the company is going to have to do a significant offering to bring Monterde into production, but continued solid drilling results as well as the likelihood of a positive pre-feasibility in Q4 should help boost the stock price and make capital less expensive. The preliminary assessment for Monterde indicated capex of around $110 million, no doubt a benefit of mining in a jurisdiction with good infrastructure and a friendly regulatory environment. However, in the event that the company has difficulty raising such a significant sum in the market, there are several other options for Kimber to realize its potential. Given the significant amount of silver byproduct in its drill assays, Kimber might consider a royalty agreement for its secondary metal to raise capital. Or perhaps, given the right price, Kimbler might selling itself to one of the area's major landowners looking to consolidate a position. Given the potential shown by surrounding projects, Kimber's land holdings and the potential at Monterde must look attractive for companies poised to benefit from the synergies of operating nearby mines such as Agnico, Coeur, or Aurico.

In summary, Kimbler is certainly a speculative bet, but the history of the area and the high grades already discovered at Monterde point to good things ahead as exploration drilling continues into year end. With drill results and a pre-feasibility study to look forward to, the rest of 2011 promises to be an interesting ride.

The Gold Report Interview with David Goguen (10/31/11) "Kimber Resources Inc. is a good example of a discovery from the early 2000s that is going through a process of derisking. It is currently drilling to expand the resource at their Monterde project for inclusion in a revised NI 43-101 resource calculation. The new data will be incorporated in a prefeasibility expected in Q212. The prefeasability will effectively assist in derisking the asset and leaving the company open to possible acquisition or decision to go it alone. There are a number of existing producers in the Sierra Madres for whom this asset would make a good fit. Kimber's Monterde is profiled to produce 60 thousand ounces gold and 1.9 Moz silver per year for about 12 years. The capital costs there are going to be somewhere in the order of $125M. It's the typical profile of a small, yet executable, profitable, low-risk acquisition that companies can achieve without getting involved in an extremely competitive process on overly sought-after assets.

Kimber is gaining a better understanding the geological controls at depth and making some discoveries on its Monterde deposit in the Sierra Madres below the 400m level. It is encountering high-grade, multi-ounce material and opening up the specter of a significant increase in the deposit size. This puts a little fire under any potential acquirers to make a move as Kimber exhibits the continued propensity for new ounces at the Monterde project."

It's not expensive to bring on-line for what's projected to be production of 60 Koz/year gold and 2 Moz silver for 15.5 years. The initial capital expenditure is just $100M. This looks like a likely buyout target. . .I think it will get bought out within the next 12–18 months.
