Rodinia Oil Corp. Launches Drilling Operations in the Officer Basin, South Australia "Mulyawara 1"
      http://tmx.quotemedia.com/article.php?newsid=42046061&qm_sym…

      Jun. 9, 2011 (Marketwire Canada) --

      CALGARY, ALBERTA --

Editors note: There are two photos associated with this press release.

Rodinia Oil Corp. (TSX VENTURE:ROZ) ("Rodinia") is pleased to announce that it has spudded its first well, "Mulyawara 1", in the Officer Basin of South Australia.

Rodinia began drilling Mulyawara 1 on the morning of Thursday June 9, 2011, Australian Central Standard Time. Rodinia has an 80% working interest in this well and prospect, and is the operator. Drilling of Mulyawara 1 is expected to take approximately six to eight weeks to reach total depth after which prospective hydrocarbon shows will be tested.

Mulyawara 1 is located in the northwest corner of PEL 253 in the Officer Basin on a structure of approximately 36.3 square kilometres (per horizon) in size as identified on seven separate 2-D seismic lines. It will be drilled vertically to an estimated total drilling depth of 2,700 metres to test five prospective reservoir horizons: Murnaroo, Talina, Mundallio, Emeroo and Pindyin, the deepest of which is the aeolian Pindyin sandstone (also called the sub-salt unit).

Rodinia's drilling contract with Ensign International Energy Services includes four firm wells with the option for up to four additional wells in the Officer Basin. Rodinia's second drilling location, Kutjara 1, has recently been hi-graded and re-confirmed by additional 2-D seismic lines. Kutjara 1 is located in the west-central portion of PEL 253 approximately 35 kilometres southeast of Mulyawara 1.

      Hier gut Beschrieben:
      http://banffstockeroilandenergyreport.com/FirstEnergyonRodin…

      Auszug:
Rodinia’s estimated unrisked prospective oil resource is a
whopping 126 billion barrels (101 billion barrels net), while
the Company’s first 10 drill-ready prospects are targeting
approximately 26.2 billion barrels (21.0 billion barrels net).
While the potential resource is absolutely enormous, investors
are cautioned that the chance of success is low, with the
geological risk ranging between a 5% and 10% probability of
      discovery.

For 2011e the Company intends on drilling four exploration
wells, with the first exploration well expected to spud in
mid-April 2011e. Every exploration well has the potential to
      be a company-maker.

Our Speculative Buy ranking of Rodinia is due to the high
risk nature of the Company’s exploration program. An
investment in Rodinia could be binary, as the Officer Basin is
unexplored and there is significant geological risk. It is very
plausible that no commercial hydrocarbons will be encountered,
which would most likely result in a depressed stock
price and make future equity issues potentially very dilutive
      and more difficult to complete.
      Conversely, if Rodinia is
successful in its exploration drilling, our target price of $8.75
per share could easily be exceeded.

Rodinia Oil Corp. Provides Mulyawara-1 Well Drilling Update (South Australia)

      http://www.marketwatch.com/story/rodinia-oil-corp-provides-m…
      July 5, 2011, 9:08 a.m. EDT

Rodinia Oil Corp. Provides Mulyawara-1 Well Drilling Update (South Australia)
CALGARY, ALBERTA, Jul 05, 2011 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Rodinia Oil Corp. ("Rodinia") /quotes/zigman/511451 CA:ROZ -2.40% is pleased to report that Mulyawara-1 exploration well in the Officer Basin of South Australia has set surface casing and is drilling ahead to target formations.

      Progress and Plan

Mulyawara-1 has reached a depth of 795 metres with surface casing set at 465 metres in the Dey Dey Mudstone. The well will commence intersecting prospective target formations below the Dey Dey Mudstone, which acts as the upper regional seal in the Officer Basin.

"To date, I am pleased with the rates of penetration into this very hard surface section," stated Paul Bennett, President and Chief Executive Officer of Rodinia. "Our plan is to continue drilling ahead using the air hammer drilling technique as far as possible and if necessary, switch to rotary drilling should penetration become too difficult."

Mulyawara-1 is located in the northwest corner of PEL 253 in the Officer Basin on a structure of approximately 36.3 square kilometres (per horizon) in size as identified on seven separate 2-D seismic lines. It will be drilled vertically to an estimated total drilling depth of 2,700 metres to test five prospective reservoir horizons: Murnaroo, Tarlina, Mundallio, Emeroo and Pindyin, the deepest of which is the aeolian Pindyin sandstone (also called the sub-salt unit).

As Mulyawara-1 is entering the prospective target formations, management of Rodinia has imposed an operational trading blackout on all officers, employees, directors and consultants until the results of the exploration well are made public at the conclusion of drilling and preliminary evaluation.

Rodinia expects to issue the next drilling update report once Mulyawara-1 has reached total depth early August 2011, unless a material event occurs in the interim.

Betting on the last big basin
      NATHAN VANDERKLIPPE
      http://www.ctv.ca/generic/generated/static/business/article1…

Paul Bennett has found a very easy way to get people’s attention. He tells them that his small Calgary company may be sitting on 126 billion barrels of recoverable oil.

If you believe him – and it’s worth pointing out that a substantial portion of the oil patch is deeply skeptical – that is about 74 per cent as much crude as the entire Canadian oil sands, which are so big they’ve made this country second only to Saudi Arabia in total reserves. It’s enough to supply every drop of oil used by the entire planet for four full years. It’s enough to supply Australia, the country that’s home to this possible monster find, for 365 years.

It would, if Mr. Bennett can do what no one else has done before – that is, if he can actually prove that this oil is not a complete fantasy – change the global dynamics of crude.

“This is a game changer,” he says. “For the world.”

But even by the standards of an industry inured to risk, there are few – if any – current parallels to Mr. Bennett. Canada’s junior oil and gas sector has long been home to people making big bets. It is a haven for the bold and the stupid. At this point, however, it’s unclear whether Mr. Bennett is either, or both. What is certain is that few have the daring to contemplate what he is attempting. And it’s unlikely any Canadian junior company has ever claimed the potential oil resource he is claiming.

A former executive with Exxon Mobil, Mr. Bennett now serves as chief executive officer of Rodinia Oil Corp. which holds an 84-per-cent interest in 23.5 million acres of land in the Australian Officer Basin. It’s an area roughly the size of Hungary. It is a vast, dry section of land in the southwest of the country – and it’s not the first time someone has looked to this area for potential riches.

For decades, the oil industry has recognized the Officer Basin as “the last untapped basin in the world.” Some of the smartest players in oil and gas have tried and failed to find crude there. Hunt Oil Co. made an attempt in the 1950s. Royal Dutch Shell PLC tried in the 1980s. Neither succeeded. Even mining companies operating in the area have yet to find anything more than what geologists call “bleeding oil.”

That means “very little oil,” said Gary Tahmazian, the former head of geology at Mount Royal College in Calgary, who has bought Rodinia shares. “But the presence of oil in the rock indicates that oil has been generated in these rocks and the potential is there.”

And, Rodinia argues, none of the most prospective areas have been sampled. A nuclear test area in the region, along with unresolved aboriginal land claims, kept much of the area off-limits for decades. Rodinia has now used seismic testing to identify the most promising areas, and has selected eight locations it hopes to drill – at least four in 2011, with an option to do the remainder. The first will be the only oil and gas well within a 350-kilometre radius.

“This is wildcat drilling. There is no oil produced from this basin. We intend to change that,” Mr. Bennett says.

Yet even his most ardent backers acknowledge that many believe Rodinia is spending millions of dollars to poke holes into barren rock.

“The big risk is source. Because it relies on a Proterozoic source, and in the oilfield there’s a legend that such oil doesn’t exist,” said Jim Buckee, the former chief executive officer of Talisman Energy Inc. who now serves as a director of Rodinia.

To understand, a quick primer on geological history may be useful. The Proterozoic rock in the Officer Basin is more than 500 million years old. Most oil in western Canada comes from rock five times younger. Though Proterozoic rock has produced oil in places like Russia and Oman, the chances of crude surviving in rock through hundreds of millions of years of geologic history are slim.

“We tried to farm it out quite a lot, and people go, ‘Oh. Proterozoic source. Won’t work,’ ” Mr. Buckee said.

Yet for the investors who placed $57.4-million into an IPO – and have since bid up the company’s market value to over $200-million – even a razor-thin chance at success has looked attractive next to the potential. According to an independent estimate, 126 billion barrels of oil could be recoverable on Rodinia land.

That estimate, however, was done without the benefit of a single test well. Instead, it assessed data on underground rock formations and determined how much oil they could contain. Mr. Bennett says the data shows “big structures” that are “just asking to be drilled.” But until the first well is drilled in February, what remains completely uncertain is whether they contain any oil at all.

In a research report, Macquarie Capital Markets analyst David Popowich warned that Rodinia is a “highly speculative investment,” and said “disappointing drilling results can be expected to have a significant negative impact.”

But Mr. Buckee said encouraging drilling results could have the opposite effect on a company with a $2 share price.

“It’s like putting money on double sixes. If it’s true, each share is worth $500 – $200 in the worst case,” he said. “It’s just an amazing bet. You’ve got to be prepared for the fact that it doesn’t work. But if it does, it’s fantastic.”

Rodinia Oil Corp. provides drilling update on its "Mulyawara 1" well, Officer Basin, South Australia
      Rodinia Oil Corp ROZ

      CALGARY, Aug. 4, 2011, 2011

(TSX-V: ROZ) - Rodinia Oil Corp. ("Rodinia") is pleased to announce that it is preparing to run the second intermediate casing string prior to drilling ahead into prospective formations at "Mulyawara 1", in the Officer Basin of South Australia.

Rodinia began drilling Mulyawara 1 on the morning of Thursday June 9, 2011 (Australian Central Standard Time) and reached the first intermediate casing point of 1,525 meters on August 1, 2011. The casing shoe is being set above the projected depth of the first series of evaporite (salt) seals.

To date drilling has been slower than anticipated due to mechanical issues on the rig, drilling in harder rock than predicted and extremely high rate water inflows from upper zones, which forced drilling operations to switch from the faster air hammer drilling to the slower underbalanced water rotary drilling.

Mulyawara 1 has confirmed the existence of excellent reservoir quality rocks in the Neoproterozoic with the Eidacaran Age Murnaroo Formation having an average log porosity of 18% (commonly up to 23%) and flowing water at rates between 600 and 900 Bbl per hour during air drilling operations. The well has also encountered small gas peaks and traces of hydrocarbon fluorescence exhibiting blooming cut over discrete intervals within the undifferentiated Upper Cryogenian.

Although these findings are encouraging and reduce the risks associated with source, migration and reservoir, this exploration well is still a high-risk venture and yet to be proven. The primary objectives of the well are yet to be intersected and lie below the prospective regional salt seals.

Rodinia has an 80% working interest in this well and prospect and is the operator.

Mulyawara 1 is located in the northwest corner of PEL 253 in the Officer Basin, South Australia on a structure of approximately 36.3 square kilometres (per horizon) in size as identified on seven separate 2-D seismic lines.

As Mulyawara-1 is entering the prospective target formations, management of Rodinia will continue to impose an operational trading blackout on all officers, employees, directors and consultants until the results of the exploration well are made public.

Rodinia expects to issue the next drilling update report once Mulyawara-1 has reached total depth, unless a material event occurs in the interim.

      RODINIA OIL CORP. (TSXV-ROZ $1.11);
RODINIA RELEASES 2Q FINANCIAL AND OPERATING RESULTS

On August 29, 2011, Rodinia released its operating and financial results for 2Q 2011. At June 30, the Company had $21.8 million in cash, $10 million of term deposits (average maturity 149 days) and no debt.

Drilling is underway at the Company’s first prospect, Mulyawara-1 (ROZ 80%). The well has had a number of mechanical and operations difficulties and overall, drilling has been slower than expected. It is now anticipated to reach its contemplated TD of 2,700 metres within the next two weeks or so.

Having discussed these issues with management, we are reasonably comfortable that they can be overcome on future wells. Some were simply the by-product of drilling in a new basin where the geology is not yet well understood, others were rig related and are being resolved.

On the positive side, the well encountered what is described as excellent quality reservoir rock (average porosity of 18%) with gas peaks and traces of hydrocarbon fluorescence in the Murnaroo Formation. The Murnaroo is the first of four potential zones, all of Neoproterozoic age. These preliminary results reduce the risks associated with source, migration and reservoir, but the Company also rightly points out that this is still a high risk exploration well.

Rodinia has also high-graded its Kutjara-1 prospect, located approximately 35 km southeast of Mulyawara-1. Kutjara-1 will be the second of the Company’s initial four-well exploration program.

Rodinia Oil Corp. (ROZ) Plugged and Abandoned Mulyawara-1 Exploration Well

Market Impact: Negative, but not unexpected given a 5% chance of success. Given we had carried this well at $2.19/share in our risked NAV, we will revise our risked NAV to $4.53/share (from $6.73/share).

Rodinia Oil announced that the Mulyawara-1 exploration well was plugged and abandoned on October 13, 2011. Due to poor quality logs, a petrophysical interpretation of the deeper zones was not possible. While drilling, gas shows were recorded over sands in the Mundallio and Emeroo sections, totaling 150 gross metres. Logs indicated that the developed sandstone sections had porosity less than 10%. The sub-salt section had poorer than expected Pindyin sandstone development and contained no oil shows.

Due to delays caused by drilling and mechanical issues at Mulyawara-1, the well took three times longer than expected, resulting in 75% cost overruns. We had factored in some cost overruns into our estimates; however, this is a greater overrun than we had envisioned. Prior to these additional overruns, we had expected a cash balance of $22.5 mm at the end of Q3 2011e. We now estimate that current cash is closer to $20.0 mm.

Even with current drilling cost saving initiatives, the Company may have difficulty completing the remaining three wells in the drilling program. Excluding long lead time materials purchased to date, we expect the company will need to drill each remaining well for approximately $6.0 mm. This is a decrease of approximately 65% from the drilling of Mulyawara-1. Should only two further wells be drilled without further funding, our risked NAV would fall an additional .50/share to $4.04/share.

The next well drilled will be Kutjara-1, located 45 km south of the Mulyawara-1 drilling location. This well will be drilled using modified drilling techniques, which are expected to improve efficiencies and lower costs. Management has outlined a number of advantages for this well, including: recently acquired infill seismic, access to existing infrastructure, fault patterns isolating the potential source from Mulyawara-1, and the ability to use PDC drill bits to lower costs.

      Shareholder Rights Plan

Rodinia has also adopted a shareholder rights plan. This plan has been approved by the TSX Venture Exchange. Management has indicated the adoption of this plan is not in response to a specific proposal to acquire control of the Company.

      Leadership Changes

Peter Philipchuk has resigned as a director of Rodinia for personal reasons. Matthew Philipchuk has resigned as Executive Vice-President to pursue other business opportunities in Australia. Sedi reports that Peter Phillipchuk holds 0.5 mm shares and 0.52 mm options, and Matthew Phillipchuk holds 0.5 mm shares and 1.0 mm options. Additionally, through ODIN Capital, the Phillipchuk's jointly hold an additional 6,360,036 shares. Previously, in May 2011, ODIN Capital disposed of 1.0 mm shares.

Rodinia is now recruiting for the position of Chief Operating Officer, to lead it operations in South Australia.

      Nichts wirklich Neues:

Rodinia Oil Corp. commences drilling its second exploratory well, "Kutjara-1", in the Officer Basin, South Australia

CALGARY, Nov. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ - Rodinia Oil Corp. ("Rodinia") is pleased to announce that it has spudded its second exploratory well, "Kutjara-1", in the Officer Basin, South Australia.

      Highlights

■The Kutjara-1 well commenced drilling on November 2, 2011 with the objective of appraising the Kutjara structure

■The well is targeting multiple prospective Neoproterozoic reservoirs

■The well's target depth is 2,668 metres and it is expected to take approximately eight weeks to drill to total depth ("TD")

■Kutjara-1 is the second well in Rodinia's Officer Basin exploration program

      Kutjara-1 Well

Kutjara-1 is located in the west central portion of PEL 253 approximately 45 kilometres southeast of Rodinia's first well, Mulyawara-1. Rodinia has an 80% working interest in PEL 253 and is the operator. The Kutjara structure has been well defined by recently acquired infill 2D seismic. The structure is large (approximately 12 km by 3 km), defined by six seismic lines and has multiple potential reservoirs. It is also offset by several other large closed structures that could be followed up on if this well is successful.

Based on lessons learned and information gathered by Rodinia at Mulyawara-1, Kutjara-1 will be drilled using the following modified drilling techniques in order to improve drilling efficiencies and lower costs:

■Drilling a smaller diameter hole throughout

■Dropping several casing strings from the original well design

■Eliminating the air pack/hammer drill assembly, which will reduce damage to the bottom hole assembly and related twist offs, fishing runs and tripping time

■Achieving higher average rates of penetration by using PDC bits rather than tricone bits

The primary objective of Rodinia's current capital program is to appraise the potential of the large structures currently identified on its lands in the Officer Basin, South Australia. The Mulyawara-1 well substantially added to Rodinia's knowledge of the geologic and hydrocarbon potential of the Officer Basin. Rodinia will continue to expand its understanding of the extent and reservoir potential of the Neoproterozoic formations with Kutjara-1. However, Kutjara-1 is a high-risk exploration well, which is yet to be proven.

Paul Bennett, Chief Executive Officer and President, commented:

"We are excited to spud Kutjara-1, the second well in our current Officer Basin exploration program. Our immediate objective with this well is to appraise several potential reservoirs in this structure, one of several large prospective structures that we have identified on our lands."

      Financial Update

Rodinia's current net working capital is approximately $16.4 million. The budgeted cost of Kutjara-1 is approximately $7 million (Australian dollars).

Rodinia is currently exploring options for additional partner participation and the potential to bring in a smaller rig to drill future wells.

As Rodinia is in the early exploration stage and is operating in the remote and under-explored Officer Basin in Australia, its ability to finance its future operations is dependent upon the existence of economically recoverable hydrocarbons and its ability to obtain new sources of financing.

      An anonymous director reports

RODINIA OIL CORP. COMPLETES DRILLING OF ITS SECOND WELL

Rodinia Oil Corp.'s second exploration well, Kutjara-1, in the Officer basin, South Australia, reached a total measured depth of 2,453.7 metres at the top of the interpreted Mesoproterozoic section. Like Mulyawara-1, there were excellent thick reservoirs intersected throughout the Neoproterozoic section. The subsalt Pindyin sandstone objective had better reservoir characteristics and was twice as thick in Kutjara-1. Although there were encouraging shows in the well, the wireline log data acquired after completion of drilling did not indicate any commercial accumulations of hydrocarbons. As a result, Rodinia has now plugged and abandoned the well.

Rig No. 16 of Ensign International Energy Services has been released and is being demobilized from the Officer basin. Management is in discussions with Ensign to use a smaller rig in future wells to improve on rig mobilization and daily drilling costs.

Due to a modified well design, drilling efficiencies were far superior at Kutjara-1, and drilling time decreased by approximately two-thirds as compared with the Mulyawara-1 well. The significant drilling improvements were accomplished using PDC bits and removing several casing strings from the drilling plan.

      Operational update

Since mid-November, 2011, Rodinia has served default notices on its Officer basin joint venture partner for failure to pay its share of costs (currently in excess of $2.2-million) associated with their continuing joint operations. This joint venture partner has responded by serving dispute notices on Rodinia pursuant to the operating agreement and its related joint operations. Additional amounts have and will be invoiced to this party, which are not yet in default. As a result, Rodinia's total financial exposure could reach $4.0-million. The parties are about to commence a dispute resolution process, and, depending on the outcome thereof, Rodinia expects to have working capital of approximately $5.0-million to $9.0-million at year-end 2011.

Rodinia's ability to finance its future operations is dependent upon its ability to obtain new sources of financing and the existence of economically recoverable hydrocarbons.

Rodinia will be conducting a comprehensive review of operations for 2012, including:

      Evaluation of infrastructure needs for all of its future drilling locations;
      Continuing seismic interpretation and mapping based on the completed seismic program and the well information acquired in 2011;
Review and evaluation of all capital management opportunities.

With an 85-per-cent-average working interest on an expansive land base of 23 million acres (gross), Rodinia has a number of financing options available to it. To preserve capital and minimize dilution to shareholders, third party joint ventures and farm-in opportunities are currently being evaluated, with interest being expressed by several oil and gas companies.

While the results from Kutjara-1 are disappointing, Rodinia's recent drilling has established the existence of excellent reservoir-quality formations and the presence of hydrocarbon shows and a working hydrocarbon system in the Neoproterozoic-aged rocks of the Officer basin.

      We seek Safe Harbor.

      I would think is a jv .

They have $ 10 millios cash

      No debt

      Over 50 millions assets

We get a jv and hit oil and will be over a dollar in no time

On May 28, 2010, the Corporation closed its initial public offering (the “IPO”) and on June 11, 2010 the Corporation closed the over-allotment to the IPO for combined gross proceeds of $57,358,750. The IPO financing consisted of the sale of units at an ascribed price of $1.00 per unit (the “IPO Units”).
the Corporation is in the early stages of exploration
With such a high working interest on an expansive land base, the Corporation has a number of financing options available. To preserve capital and minimize dilution to shareholders, the opportunity to lower working interest through joint ventures and farm- in arrangements are attractive and currently the Corporation has in place a number of confidentiality agreements.
