Hi, ihr wisst es sowieso schon, hab jetzt als Neuling hier auch mal nachgesehen. So wurde das Aktienrückkaufprogramm kommuniziert:

The Board also authorized the repurchase of the company’s shares of common stock in an aggregate amount of $75 billion. The $75 billion authorization takes effect on April 1, 2023, and does not have a fixed expiration date. It replaces the Board’s previous repurchase authorization of $25 billion from January 2019, which will terminate on March 31, 2023, after the completion of the company’s repurchases in the first quarter 2023.

Repurchases of shares of the company’s common stock may be made from time to time in the open market, by block purchases, in privately negotiated transactions or in such other manner as determined by the company. The timing of the repurchases and the actual amount repurchased will depend on a variety of factors, including the market price of the company's shares, general market and economic conditions, and other factors. The stock repurchase program does not obligate the company to acquire any particular amount of common stock, and it may be suspended or discontinued at any time.

Somit wäre jetzt eine gute Zeit, das Rückkaufprogramm weiter zu nutzen. In 2023 wurden für 14,9 B$ Aktien zurückgekauft gemäß Jahresbericht.
Es bleibt also noch eine gute Summe für 2024 In Q1 und Q2 hat man weiter gekauft für je 3 B$(siehe Quartalsberichte Q1, Q2).
Somit wäre jetzt eine gute Zeit, das Rückkaufprogramm verstärkt zu nutzen und die Shares von Mr. Buffett einzuziehen

ja hab ich auch gelesen. da das unternehmen eine marktkapitalisierung von 290 Milliarden hat, hätte man den 75 milliarden aktienrückkauf doch deutlich am kurs sehen müssen. davon war aber nichts zu sehen. die firma hätte 1/4 ihrer aktien einziehen müssen...

Chevron LNG workers in Australia vote to allow unions to call strikes

SYDNEY, Aug 24 (Reuters) - Workers at Chevron's (CVX.N) Gorgon and Wheatstone liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities on Thursday voted to allow unions to call for a strike if necessary, raising the possibility of production shutdowns even as both parties continue to negotiate over pay and conditions.

The Offshore Alliance, which combines the Maritime Union of Australia and Australian Workers' Union, now has the discretion, but not the obligation, to call a variety of strike action but must give Chevron seven working days' notice beforehand.

More than 99% of the 433 workers that voted were in favour of taking action, which could range from refusing to load tankers or vessels with LNG to complete work stoppages, according to a statement from the union on Thursday.

Results of another strike ballot for workers at a separate Wheatstone facility are due on Monday afternoon.

The escalation comes the same day as the unions reached an in-principle agreement with Woodside Energy (WDS.AX) in a similar workplace dispute at its Northwest Shelf LNG facility. Members will vote on whether to accept the deal, and therefore bring an end to the risk of strike action, at 7:30pm (1130 GMT).

WHY DOES AUSTRALIAN LNG MATTER?

Australia has kept its crown as the world’s largest LNG producer, exporting 80.9 million metric tons (MT) in 2022 compared to 79 MT in 2021, according to data from International Gas Union.

The country's share of the global LNG market is estimated at 20.2%.

WHO BUYS AUSTRALIAN LNG?

Roughly three quarters of Australia's LNG exports go to four Asian buyers: China, Japan, South Korea and India, mostly under long-term contracts, and almost none to Europe.

Consultancy Rystad Energy estimates that China and Japan combined purchased about 26 million metric tons of Australian LNG, more than 60% of the country’s exports, in the first half of 2023.
