Continental Gold: Feasibility Study On Buriticá Project

Advanced-exploration and development company Continental Gold Inc.(TSX: CNL; OTCQX: CGOOF) says that a feasibility study shows that its Buriticá project in Colombia would be an “economically robust, high-grade underground gold mine.” The maiden mineral reserve estimate for the combined Yaraguá and Veta Sur vein systems total 3.7 million ounces of gold and 10.7 million ounces of silver. The study projects a 14-year mine life that will produce 3,492,000 ounces of gold and 6,425,000 ounces of silver. Continental says the first five years of production will average approximately 282,000 ounces of gold and 494,000 ounces of silver annually, at a total average cash cost of $387 per ounce of gold (including silver credits). The estimated project capital cost has been put at $389.2 million. "The feasibility study confirms that the Buriticá project offers immediate development potential and would be among one of the lowest-cost precious metal mines in the world. The construction phase of the mine would employ over 1,200 people at peak activity -- approximately 900 during operations -- and would be the largest single gold mine in Colombia once production commences," says Ari Sussman, chief executive officer.

Golden Star Resources Ltd. (NYSE MKT: GSS; TSX: GSC; GSE: GSR) reports lower gold sales in 2015 after the company suspended refractory operations at Bogoso in the third quarter, but the company’s top executive said it was achieving its goal of becoming a “leaner and less complex” low-cost producer. The amount of gold sold last year fell to 221,653 ounces from 260,788 in 2014. At Bogoso/Prestea, 113,902 ounces of gold were sold, down from 147,957 the prior year as a result of the suspension of the refractory operations at Bogoso. Total fourth-quarter sales of 51,378 ounces were in line with the third quarter. The company lists adjusted fourth-quarter net income of $6.8 million, or 3 cents per share, after a loss of $10.8 million, or 4 cents, in the third quarter. All-in sustaining costs were $1,158 per ounce for the year but fell to $896 in the fourth quarter."Results for the fourth quarter continue to clearly demonstrate our focus on transforming the company into a low-cost producer," comments Sam Coetzer, president and chief executive officer. "The fourth quarter operated exactly as planned and true to the vision we have strived to achieve over the last few years. Golden Star will now continue to operate the non-refractory open pits at Prestea and Wassa. We will continue to advance our two underground projects at Wassa and Prestea and expect to see the first higher-grade ounces reporting to the process facilities from Wassa during the second half of 2016. Now that we have suspended the refractory operations at Bogoso, our risk profile has improved and we are now a leaner and less complex company.” The company projects 2016 output of between 180,000 and 205,000 ounces at cash operating costs of $815 to $925.

da Goldstar sehr attraktiv bewertet ist bzw. großen Nachholbedarf hat,
bin ich seit gestern mit einer großen Position auch an Bord.
Dazu kommt, das der Gewinn sich im 4. Quartal letzten Jahres, um 10% für die Mine
in Ghana erhöht hat.
Da der Goldpreis weiter steigen wird, werden auch die Zahlen und Zukunftsaussichten
von Goldstar immer interessanter.
Solides Investment neben meinen Lithiumaktien im Depot.
Goldige Zeiten wünscht die

Bin zwar kein "Goldguru" , aber bin im Nachgang mehr als froh, dass ich kein einzigen Share in den letzten Jahren verkauft habe - im Gegenteil.
Habe immer wieder unter Magengrummeln nachgekauft und bleibe mindestens bis 2.- Euro dabei.
Mein Posting vor gut einem Jahr (15.01.2015).

Gut das ich immer positiv an die Sache gegangen bin und schön bei den niedrigen Kursen nachgekauft habe!
Anfang des Jahres war der Kurs unter 20 Cent, also in kurzer Zeit einfach mal verdreifacht und mehr!

Man sieht ja, dass eine höhere Produktion + sinkende Kosten die Aktie auch steigen lässt, obwohl der Goldpreis eher stagniert. Das Ganze sieht anders aus, wenn Gold auf 1.500 steigt. Dann muss man sich eher an den alten Höchstkursen orientieren...

Wenn Golden Star beispielsweise 50K Unzen im Quartal produziert bei einem durchschnittlichen Goldpreis von 1500USD/Unze dann bekommt Royal Gold 5K Unzen für 1200USD/Unze.
Der erzielte Verkaufspreis des Quartals liegt dann durchschnittlich immer noch bei 1.470USD/Unze.
Wenn Golden Star beispielsweise 50K Unzen im Quartal produziert bei einem durchschnittlichen Goldpreis von 1500USD/Unze dann bekommt Royal Gold 5K Unzen für 1200USD/Unze.

Was mich eher extrem stört ist diese Kapitalerhöhung zu 0,75USD/ Aktie.
Damit hätten sie durchaus noch etwas warten können und es wären nicht 0,75 sondern evtl. 1,25 werden können.Ganz schlechter Zeitpunkt.

The proceeds were used for the advancement of the Wassa Gold Mine ("Wassa"), including progressing a feasibility study for the Wassa Underground Gold Mine ("Wassa Underground"). The first stope was blasted at Wassa Underground on July 10, 2016, representing the start of pre-commercial production at the mine.
The remaining $22 million of the loan, as well as all accrued interest thereon, has now been repaid in full using the proceeds from the financing transaction that closed on August 3, 2016. The repayment of Ecobank II is expected to result in a saving of approximately $600,000 in interest charges during the remainder of 2016. It also is expected to have a significant positive impact on Golden Star's cash flows, as the Company was due to use its operating cash flows to pay $8.4 million to Ecobank by the end of 2017: $2.8 million in the second half of 2016 and $5.6 million in 2017.

Further Information on Settlement of Loan
The repayment of Ecobank II follows the previously announced offerings of equity and senior convertible notes by the Company, which closed on August 3, 2016. The net cash proceeds of the equity offering were approximately $32.4 million and the net cash proceeds of the private placement of convertible senior notes were approximately $21.2 million. The remainder of the funds from the offerings were used to repurchase additional 5.0% convertible senior unsecured debentures due June 1, 2017 in privately negotiated transactions and for other corporate purposes. After the above mentioned transactions, the remaining balance of the 5.0% convertible senior unsecured debentures is $13.6 million.

Nur oberhalb dessen besitzt der Minentitel weiteres Kurssteigerungspotenzial zur erneuten Überwindung der Marke von 1,00 USD.
Als nächstes Zwischenziel wäre dann das Niveau des letzten Reaktionshochs bei 1,13 USD zu nennen, bevor es im Anschluss weiter in Richtung des Widerstands bei 1,30 USD gehen dürfte. Die Tendenzen sind dementsprechend weiter aussichtsreich für das Unternehmen. Bedenken diesbezüglich wäre hingegen bei einem Rückgang unter das Zwischentief vom 1. September bei Kursen unter 0,67 USD berechtigt. Mitsamt Trendlinienbruch bestünde dann die Gefahr einer signifikanten Kursschwäche.
Abgaben bis hin zum gleitenden 200-Tage-Durchschnitt (SMA - aktuell bei 0,53 USD) müssten in diesem Kontext eingeplant werden, bevor es darunter Anschlussverluste bis hin zur Unterstützung bei 0,45 USD geben könnte. Andere Miner sind Intraday auch in die Knie, aber nicht so krass wie GSS, die natürlich zum Ende des Tages wieder einiges aufgeholt haben.
Habe gerade auf Motley Fool, ok von denen kann man halten was man will, eine Begründung gelesen, die ich im Anschluss hier einstelle.
Ich denke, die Numbers sind irgendwo durchgesickert und haben Verkaufsdruck plus SL ausgelöst.
7 cent Verlust sind nun mal grottig...
CT close über 85 cent ist ok, aber wackelig würde ich sagen.

What happened
Shares of Golden Star Resources (NYSEMKT:GSS), a mid-level gold mining and exploration company that primarily operates out of Ghana, plunged as much as 19% during Wednesday's trading session following commentary from the Federal Reserve. The day got a little less painful for shareholders of Golden Star, with shares rebounding to finish lower by only 7.5%.
So what
Around 2:15 p.m. EDT, the Federal Open Market Committee announced that it was leaving its federal funds target rate (which influences interest rates) unchanged once again. However, the FOMC also hinted that there's a decent chance it could raise the federal funds rate in December. According to a statement issued by the FOMC: "The committee judges that the case for an increase in the federal funds rate has continued to strengthen, but decided, for the time being, to wait for some further evidence of continued progress toward its objectives."
The reason this statement caused Golden Star Resources, as well as its fellow mining stocks, to dip relates to opportunity cost. Opportunity cost is the act of giving up a near-guaranteed gain in exchange for another asset that could potentially offer a greater reward. Right now bank CDs and bonds have rates of return that are often losing to inflation, meaning there's little opportunity cost to foregoing these assets and choosing physical gold, which has no yield. If, however, the FOMC increases the federal funds rate and interest rates rise, CDs and bonds become more attractive and gold potentially less attractive, which can hurt physical gold prices and thus mining margins.
Now what
It's important for investors to put today's big spike downward (and subsequent rebound) into perspective. Even if the FOMC decides to go ahead and raise the federal funds rate at its December meeting, which seems increasingly likely, the opportunity cost of forgoing bonds and CDs is still very low. In my opinion, gold could probably withstand 100 to 125 basis points worth of rate increases without seeing any real switching from precious metals to interest-based assets. In other words, today's move may have been a bit of an overreaction.
What's far more important for Golden Star Resources: its Wassa and Prestea gold mines. With gold prices up more than $230 an ounce since the year began, Wall Street is going to be looking for steady or falling all-in sustaining costs, expanding margins, and an improving bottom line. By mid-year, Golden Star was on track to meet all of the objectives it had laid out for 2016, so in this respect things are going well.
Substantial improvements in production and ore grade are also expected over the coming 12 months. Pre-commercial production at Wassa's underground expansion commenced in July, and Prestea's high-grade underground expansion should begin commercial production around mid-2017. This is great news as well for Royal Gold (NASDAQ:RGLD), since it ponied up $150 million (which includes a $20 million term loan) to finance both underground expansions. Royal Gold will receive a tiered amount of production at a purchase price that ranges between just 20% and 30% of spot gold for the life of the mine.
If Golden Star's mines can deliver as promised, then the company could be considered inexpensive at today's levels. Wall Street's consensus calls for $0.25 in full-year earnings per share by 2018, if everything stays on track. Of course, the risks of political instability, along with traditionally higher mining costs in Africa, still make this mid-level miner a potentially risky proposition.
