GTT CONDUCTS TWO FEED STUDIES ON TWO TYPES OF GRAVITY BASED SYSTEM (GBS)
Paris – June 14th, 2018.
GTT has been assigned by two major companies to carry out Front End Engineering Design (FEED) studies on new Gravity Based System (GBS) projects. The first one, signed with an European EPC, concerns a large LNG liquefaction project comprising several concrete caissons with several liquid gas membrane tanks, while the second concerns a smaller and metallic GBS project conducted with an Asian partner for providing energy to an island.
For confidentiality purposes, the names of the contracting parties of the LNG projects cannot be disclosed.
These two types of GBS are made of caissons consisting in concrete or metallic structures and membrane containment tanks using GTT technology. They lie on the seabed and can be installed in a port or isolated area and require limited additional infrastructure.
The FEEDs’ objectives are to develop GBS concept designs and to finalize economical and safe designs, including the production requirements adapted to the gravity based structures specificities, relying on GTT’s experience and knowledge in LNG membrane containment system. GTT will be able to demonstrate the readiness of this innovative solution: combining GTT’s containment system track-record with gravity-based nearshore structures.
Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT, declared: “We are very confident in the perspectives for the GBS solution and are looking forward to working with highly experienced partners on these FEEDs.” He added: “These studies demonstrate the interest for GBS solutions, irrespective of their capacities and locations, as well as the appetite for GTT’s expertise in the industry.”

Zahlen kommen am 18.2.;

GTT to design the LNG tanks of a new LNG carrier for a Korean shipyard
Paris – January 3, 2018.
GTT received at the end of 2017 an order from a South Korean shipyard regarding the design of the LNG tanks of a new LNG carrier. Its delivery is scheduled for the first quarter of 2020.
GTT will design the LNG tanks of the unit, allowing for a capacity of 174,000 m3. The insulation solution Mark III Flex has been chosen for its ability to reduce the daily guaranteed Boil-Off gas rate to 0.085% of tank volume. 48 vessels in service already benefit from this technology.
The shipowner and shipyard's names are kept confidential at this stage.

Paris – May 18th, 2017.
GTT has received an order from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) to equip two LNG carriers with its NO96 GW containment system. DSME shipyard based in Geoje - South Korea – will build the vessels of 173,400 m3 each, on behalf of a European ship-owner. Deliveries are scheduled in 2019.
This is the first order of LNG carriers from DSME since the beginning of the year. It comes in addition to the order of last February, concerning a floating storage regasification unit also equipped with GTT NO96 technology.
"We are proud of the close relationship we have had with DSME for over 30 years, which has led to this new order. With 103 vessels in service and 49 in order at present, DSME is indeed a faithful user of our NO96 solutions", declared Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT.
With almost 150 vessels in service worldwide equipped with the NO96 system, GTT designs are based on sea-proven technology which enjoys unparalleled feedback from actual use at sea. For more than 50 years, the NO range has been evolving thanks to a permanent research and development effort in new technologies, to meet the safety and the efficiency requirements of ship-owners and shipyards. NO96 GW is one of these latest NO developments which enables LNG cargo boil-off gas optimisation.
