New Company to be Called Ferroglobe


MADRID, Spain and MIAMI, Florida, Dec. 23, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Globe Specialty Metals, Inc. (NASDAQ:GSM) today announced it has completed its combination with Grupo FerroAtlántica, finalizing the creation of the new company Ferroglobe PLC. The business combination, which was first announced on February 23, 2015 was completed following receipt of all required regulatory clearances and approvals.

Ferroglobe will be among the world's leading suppliers of silicon metal, silicon-based specialty alloys, and ferroalloys serving a customer base across the globe in dynamic and fast-growing end-markets such as solar, automotive, consumer products, construction, and energy.

Manganese alloy smelters are under pressure to scale back production due to the smaller margins achieved on suppressed alloy prices, Ferroglobe chief executive officer Pedro Larrea said during Fastmarkets’ International Ferro-alloys Conference in Lisbon.

Ferroglobe has cut some production at its manganese alloy furnaces, because the company has faced difficulties in generating profits due to the strength of manganese ore prices relative to alloy prices, Larrea conceded during a manganese panel at the event, held on November 11-13. He did not give details of the extent or volume of Ferroglobe’s production cut. Manganese alloy prices have been slowly declining for much of the year, while the manganese ore market has remained surprisingly resilient. The European price for silico-manganese was assessed by Fastmarkets at €900-950 ($1,013-1,069) per tonne on November 9, having fallen...

naja, am Ende warens über -62% an einem Tag... ich hatte das höchstens mal wenn es einen Aktiensplit gab...

absurd ists trotzdem (auch wenn die Aussichten insbesondere im mangan-Bereich nicht rosig sind9:
der Gesamt-Netprofit (nicht ebitda) Q1-Q3 2018: knapp 100 Mio $
aktuelle market cap: etwas über 300 Mio $

viel falsch machen kann man glaub ich nicht wenn man jetzt zugreift

bzl. Bewertungsfragen sollte man sich an den "adjusted"-Werten (EBITDA wie EAT) orientieren, da diese Einmalfaktoren ausblenden. Auf den ersten Blick erscheint der Kursrutsch dennoch überzogen, aber ich habe mich mit deren Geschäftsmodell noch nicht auseinander gesetzt, und entscheidend sind ja die Perspektiven (siehe auch #7)
