      Hallo!

      http://www.wallstreet-online.de/nachricht/9209021-carl-data-…

Was meint ihr?

      Cleaning the Pipe

Sensors sometimes malfunction and cause erroneous readings that negatively influence predicting machine learning algorithms. This obstacle for generating accurate forecasting models was lately addressed by Carl Data Solutions (C.CRL). The Canadian developer of Big-Data-as-a-Service (BDaaS) solutions and Industrial Internet-of-Things (IIoT) applications provides a suite of software tools called Flow Works that allows to monitor, analyze, visualize and predict the status of environmental data, including water, wastewater, rainfall and climatic data.

These applications are used by more than 120 municipalities in North America and Europe to manage their water and wastewater infrastructure.

Microsoft partnered with Carl Data to build an anomaly detection model to automate the identification of erroneous sensors, allowing utilities and municipalities to save water and money by reducing their operational spending on staff.

Vancouver (British Columbia), 6.

VANCOUVER, BRITISH KOLUMBIEN--(Marketwired - 9.

Brokerhaus Mackie garantiert 1,2 Mio.

Carl Data Solutions Signs Letter of Intent for Solid Waste Management Pilot

      PR Newswire

      VANCOUVER, Dec. 5, 2017

VANCOUVER, Dec. 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ - Carl Data Solutions Inc. (CSE:CRL, FSE:7C5, OTC:CDTAF) ("Carl Data") continues its expansion into the solid waste management sector of the Industrial IoT (IIoT) and has signed a Letter of Intent for an upcoming pilot project. Globally, the market for waste management is expected to grow to around $562 billion USD by 2020.:eek::eek:

In cooperation with Peak Disposal Services Inc. ("Peak Disposal"), Carl Data is developing an industrial-grade solid waste management monitoring system. http://www.peakdisposal.com/

Peak Disposal manages hundreds of containers for the booming local construction and movie industries. Currently, there are no monitoring systems durable enough to survive the rough treatment common on these work sites. Peak Disposal has as many as 140 containers that would benefit from this system and expects to implement the Carl Data's system once it is successfully tested. Alan Ligumsky, co-owner at Peak Disposal, commented. "I am excited to see how this project works out. It will be interesting to see how we can use this technology to automate our system and gather data on what we are doing to increase operational efficiency."

The industrial-grade monitoring system will consist of state-of-the-art fill level laser sensors embedded with wireless communications devices. Data is then transmitted into Carl Data's cloud-storage allowing Peak Disposal to view current and historical waste levels.

Customized fill level reporting, alarms, and other parameters can be set for each bin independently on a dedicated, user-friendly, browser-based web interface. By analyzing data trends, location-based fill level forecasting and similar advance predictions will be possible to save the company money and time.

Kevin Marsh, Carl Data's VP of Business Development, commented, "In North America and around the world, solid waste management has become a huge concern. The development and launch of this new service allows us to enter a new vertical in need of environmental IIoT monitoring solutions. We are sure Peak Disposal will see a huge increase in overall efficiency when our system is deployed and look forward to rolling out this monitoring system to other companies with similar needs.":eek::eek:

The Hottest Tech Sector in 2018:eek::eek::eek::eek:

      Dec 05, 2017, 08:00 ET

      LONDON, December 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --

Big data is transforming the world in ways that humans never believed was possible, with the latest breakthroughs aimed at saving billions of dollars and thousands of lives. It's the difference between knowing or not knowing when a portion of 2.6 million miles of pipeline might burst, one or more of 15,500 high-risk dams might fail, a refinery might explode, or which portion of 7.2 million miles of electric power lines might black out. Included in today's commentary Honeywell International Inc. (NYSE: HON), NVIDIA Corp. (NYSE: NVDA), Verint Systems (NASDAQ: VRNT), International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE: IBM), FireEye, Inc. (NASDAQ: FEYE).

Protecting the critical infrastructure of the United States is set to be a $153 billion market by 2022, and the remote sensor industry that will make this protection possible is expected to more than double from $10.68 billion this year to $21.62 billion in just three years' time.

The pipeline protection industry alone is set to see its value double from US$4.13 billion in 2015 to US$8.72 billion in 2026. And this is just one market segment that this breakthrough tech is set to address.

The infrastructure monitoring industry is at a major turning point, and with Trump set to spend $1 trillion on infrastructure in the coming years, smart investors are turning their heads.

Here are 5 companies that should be on your big data radar as critical infrastructure becomes a matter of life and death:

#1 Honeywell International Inc. (NYSE: HON)

Honeywell is a major player in critical infrastructure monitoring. It's also got its hands in critical infrastructure security and cyber security, recently acquiring cyber security company Nextnine Ltd.

Honeywell, a Fortune 100 software-industrial set-up, positioned itself solidly in this market-and early on-gaining prowess as a key warrior against cyber threats to critical infrastructure.

The company says the cyber security market in the Middle East alone is expected to double from $11.38 billion in 2017 to $22.14 billion by 2022.

Honeywell announced last week that it was idling its Metropolis plat in Illinois-a plant that manufactures uranium hexafluoride (UF6)-the building block of enriched uranium for use in nuclear reactors. The shutdown was announced on November 20, citing "significant challenges facing the nuclear industry," which amounts to decreased demand after the notorious Fukushima disaster.

Despite the closure, Honeywell has other fish to fry, and is a key player in the pipeline monitoring business. It reported impressive Q3 financials that outperformed the broader market, with Q3 revenue of $10.1 billion, exceeding analyst expectations and securing revenues of $9.8 billion in Q3 2016. But it's not just revenues that Honeywell boasted in its Q3 report-it was good across the board, with earnings per share at $1.75 vs $1.60 a year ago, and free cash flow up 18 percent year-to-date.

The stock is up almost 33 percent in the last 52 weeks, jumping from $112.15 per share in November 2016 to $149.35 on November 21, 2016.

Past sales growth has sauntered slowly behind its peers in recent years, and Honeywell has in the past failed to return profits to its shareholders at a level that would cause excitement. But the tide is turning, and with Honeywell's new CEO, Darius Adamczyk, manning the ship, Honeywell may soon outshine its larger peers. Adamczyk has a plan to spin off two business units by the end of 2018-part of HON's aggressive plan to increase sales. The units Honeywell is dumping-its turbocharger business and the unit that manufactures air purifiers and smoke alarms-may cut into sales, but it also means Honeywell will be leaner and meaner, left with its divisions that are growing sales at a faster pace.

"All the remaining businesses offer options for investment and growth,'’ Adamczyk said on a conference call with analysts, according to Bloomberg Markets. "The punch line for me is, we're going to be very active in the M&A arena."

Honeywell is expected to release its 2018 outlook on December 13 before the market opens.

#2 Carl Data Solutions (CRL; CDTAF)

This is where Small-Cap plus Big Data can be a smart play for early-in investors.

Carl Data's tech is designed to monitor, predict and therefore allow operators to save us from any type of infrastructure failure - oil spills and dam failures, toxic explosions and mine collapses - and it takes advantage of the massive data from a remote monitoring market that will be worth over $27 billion by 2023 .

While everyone's been focusing on the billions of sensors that collect data remotely, Carl Data has been focusing on the data itself. Industries from critical infrastructure to manufacturing and everything in between are receiving way too much data that disappears into a black hole. Carl Data intercepts it and makes it actionable-and profitable.

It could be one of the most disruptive tech systems we've seen for the infrastructure industry.

From Toronto and Dallas to LA, major cities are lining up for Carl Data solutions to protect budgets and populations from the devastating disasters caused by aging infrastructure. The mining vertical is already being successfully tapped, and Carl Data anticipates other major verticals to follow suit.

There are few systems out there that can handle the type or sheer volume of data swarming in the cloud.

Carl Data's AI system can be programmed to predict events that may lead to critical infrastructure failures up to seven days into the future.

It can use AI to forecast whether a future storm might cause a major incident at one of America's many aging and high-hazard potential dams-before they fail.
Think major pipeline operators like Enbridge, Kinder Morgan, Husky, TransCanada and all their oil and gas stream crossings: Carl Data can alert engineers via cell phone immediately if thresholds are threatening breach.
For companies like Teck, Gold Corp., Imperial Metals and BC Hydro and thousands of hydro-electric dams and toxic tailing ponds around the world, Carl Data could be the difference between safety and a billion-dollar clean-up. It's already working with Teck Resources and has developed and deployed an application for monitoring tailing ponds. The tech system will help Teck manage risk and is expected to result in significant operational savings.
When snow melts in the streams feeding into a toxic tailing pond, sensor data from points where the streams enter the ponds, combined with AI, can predict the likelihood of an incident.

This is a massive data platform that can service absolutely any and every industry vertical. And it's already earning revenues, so it's not your typical small-cap.

Clients pay a fee based on the number of data sources coming into their account, along with set-up fees and customization services , which include new algorithms and unique reporting.

And the entire system just got a lot easier and even more cost-effective with Carl Data's AB Embedded Systems Ltd acquisition. Now, new solutions are in place to set up networked data-loggers to get all the data into the system automatically.

For investors looking for a backdoor into one of the biggest data coups since the Internet itself, this might just be it.

      Issued & Outstanding1,2 54,811,656
      Warrants3 16,455,170
      Options 2,792,423
      Fully Diluted 74,059,249
      Wird noch ganz schön verwässert!

      Meine Fragen an euch:

      2. Gibt es irgendwo einen Nachweis mit welchen Kommenen / Städten sie feste Verträge haben. Irgendwo gelesen das sie auch langfristig Verträge abschließen. Wäre natürlich was sicheres für die Anleger.

      3. Irgendwo hab ich doch gelesen das jemand geschrieben hat das sie einen 5 Mio (?) Auftrag sicher hätten? Und auch kontinuirliche Aufträge durch die Regierungen?

      4. Ich hab im Forum auch gelesen, das sie jetzt auch in Indien an Aufträge Rankommen durch die Übernahme stimmt das? Wie schätzt ihr die weitere Umsatzentwicklung ein?

      5. Ist das für euch eher ein "Rein Raus" Spiel weil die Story stimmt und IOT und Blockchain durchs Dorf getrieben werden oder etwas langfristiges a la Buy and Hold?

      @findik

Nach dem Bilanzstichtag hat Carl 420.000 CAD + 1.68 Mio. CAD an frischem Cash bekommen.

Carl Data Polish Subsidiary Receives EU Grant to Develop Artificial Intelligence

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, December 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Carl Data Solutions Inc.'s (CSE:CRL, FSE:7C5, OTC:CDTAF) Polish subsidiary is taking the next leap forward in developing artificial intelligence (AI) to monitor aging critical infrastructure. This ~300k USD research and development grant through the European Union will fund exploration into new ways that data collection and predictive modelling can improve water infrastructure safety and efficiency.

The research will focus on machine learning based AI that makes continuous predictions on how forecasted storm events will impact water infrastructure, allowing the time needed for workers to protect cities from flooding and other damage. An intelligent sensor that measures flow using a machine learning model will be developed that extracts more precise flow data than any other device currently available on the market. Another focus of the research will be sensor anomaly detection to improve the quality of data collected. AI will be trained to know if a sensor is giving incomplete or incorrect data, improving operational intelligence for the overall system.

Carl Data Solutions Poland will work closely with the Department of Decision Systems and Robotics at Gdansk University of Technology, coordinating with a research team of PhDs and engineers who have been studying water infrastructure for decades. Piotr Stepinski, Carl Data CTO and an architect in designing the project, commented, "The outcome of this project has potential to allow Carl Data's Polish subsidiary to resell this innovative technology throughout the EU and North America. We are excited to have government and international support for developing these in-demand products and services."

Polnische Tochtergesellschaft von Carl Data erhält EU-Förderung zur Entwicklung künstlicher Intelligenz

      Vancouver, British Columbia (ots/PRNewswire) -

Ok.

"...Each unit issued consisted of one common share in the capital of Carl Data and one listed transferable common share purchase warrant, with each warrant being exercisable for a two-year period from the date of issuance of the units at a price of 35 cents per share, if exercised prior to July 5, 2018, and at a price of 40 cents per share thereafter..."

      Kursziel 1 USD?

CARL DATA POLAND WORKS WITH UNIVERSITY ON ADVANCING AI APPLICATIONS

Carl Data Solutions Inc.'s Polish subsidiary will be working closely with a team of engineering and robotics master students at the Gdansk University of Technology to continue R&D (research and development) for its waste water infrastructure monitoring machine-learning features. Led by a PhD with over 10 years experience co-ordinating teams researching automated control and decision systems and robotics, these technology specialists will help Carl Data's Polish data science centre remain at the forefront of artificial intelligence (AI) applications for this sector.

Dr. Tomasz Bialaszewski, PhD, has been fascinated with applying advanced robotics and automated control systems to water and waste water infrastructure since he began his master's thesis in 1997. By the time he finished his PhD in 2006, he had shifted his focus to applying machine-learning (AI) algorithms to gain insight from the data gathered by his mobile robotics systems.

"Poland has many problems optimizing its waste water infrastructure," said Dr. Bialaszewski. "These issues are associated with huge costs, especially where leaks and overflows occur."

By working closely with Carl Data's data scientists in Poland, Dr. Bialaszewski and his team are helping create a fast, logical machine-learning system to address a very complex engineering problem. Carl Data is combining the team's big data sets acquired from over a dozen years of monitoring waste water infrastructure with data from a specially designed control system and then using the university's supercomputers to build breakthrough precision for its predictive analytic features.

"An additional product of this research is sensor anomaly detection," said Piotr Stepinski. "These tools are extremely valuable across North America and the European Union in monitoring aging infrastructure which is vital for the safety of the environment and the public."

Greg Johnston, Carl Data's chief executive officer, commented: "These new products and features will further set Carl Data apart from its competition by dramatically increasing operational efficiency in sensor monitoring analysis. This advantage that will help Carl Data achieve its revenue targets by offering a superior product from its big-data-as-a-service (BDaaS) platform."

Carl Data Signs LOI to Acquire Connected Fintech to Further Blockchain and Fintech Data Services Development

VANCOUVER, March 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ - Carl Data Solutions Inc. (CSE:CRL, FSE:7C5, OTC:CDTAF) ("Carl Data" or the "Company"), has entered into a letter of intent (the "LOI") to acquire (the "Acquisition") Connected Fintech Inc. ("Connected"), a provider of crypto currency mining, support and hosting services, for 883,010 common shares of the Company (valued at $0.192/share).

Connected's assets including crypto currency servers (miners) and related hardware, data center facilities, hosting contracts, and expertise and knowledge of Connected's team of network specialists and developers will give Carl Data a competitive advantage adapting current software and predictive analytics for optimized transaction processing and continued development of breakthrough machine to machine (M2M) transactional capabilities using blockchain technology for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

Greg Johnston, Carl Data's President and CEO, commented, "This acquisition will allow us to take advantage of a number of immediate opportunities, and give us a competitive advantage working with IIoT data through new technology we are developing. Our Big Data as a Service (BDaaS) tools will be applied to the fintech market, taking advantage of the current need for crypto-mining hosting services as overseas operations look to Canada for expansion and re-location. Recent advances in our data collection hardware, combined with the blockchain expertise of Connected's staff and contractors, will allow us to continue development of our smart contract and M2M transaction solutions based on blockchain technology."

Jay Yu, CEO of Connected, remarked, "Merging with Carl Data will allow us to accelerate our expansion plans. The Carl team brings a wealth of experience in big data and AI that will help Connected Fintech offer value added services to our clients. This will provide a real competitive advantage in attracting clients who use us for hosting their cryptocurrency mining servers. Our relationship this past year has strengthened, and working with CEO, Greg Johnson and the rest of Carl's management team is an ideal fit for us. I am excited to become part of such a dynamic public company."

Pursuant to the LOI, Carl Data and Connected have agreed to use their commercial best efforts to formulate a structure for the Acquisition that will comply with all necessary legal and regulatory requirements, minimize or eliminate adverse tax consequences and be as cost effective as possible. It is anticipated that the LOI will be superseded by a definitive agreement between Carl Data and Connected and that such agreement will include representations, warranties and covenants typical for a transaction of similar nature to the Acquisition as well as customary conditions precedent, including completion of due diligence, receipt of any required consents and approvals and Carl Data's entry into of a consulting agreement with Jay Yu, CEO of Connected, providing for Mr. Yu's continued service as President of Connected following the Acquisition.

Our clients are typically governments or utilities, so sometimes it's challenging to keep our shareholders abreast of everything we are doing. A release about the adoption of one of our applications would usually beg the question by citizens under these governments or serviced by the utility is “why are on earth weren’t you doing this before?” To release news about these projects requires we follow strict compliance rules set out by our partners and clients, and we announce the signing of new contracts and the expansion of existing ones when we can.

Predictive Analytics for Waste Water Infrastructure:
We can pass along that we are currently expanding the scope of our work with several large municipalities to bring more sensors online, and incorporate more predictive analytics - like our seven day event forecasting to identify combined sewer overflows (CSO) - in order to allow these clients to more effectively manage their operations. On January 8, 2018, EPA published the final Public Notification Requirements for Combined Sewer Overflows (CSO) to the Great Lakes. This requires the development of a public notification system. We actually have built this exact product for the city of Boston that will be launched this month. There has been tremendous interest from other Great Lakes cities and municipalities, since systems like ours will now be required.

      Flood Risk Forecasting:
We have continued to expand our application deployments with Teck Resources. and are just days away from the lawyers finishing our Master Service Agreement (MSA). This will allow us to work directly with each Teck mining operation directly. We have been approached by many mine sites, eager to deploy our solution. We are also working with both Canadian and US dam safety organizations and associations to get exposure for the same product, and have gained interest from a couple of other large mining companies.

      Solid Waste Management:
Our solid waste pilot with Peak Disposal is just about to kick off. The customized hardware is finished development and we are currently out-fitting bins. We will be collecting data and releasing more news in the next week or two. This is a big productivity tool for solid waste companies as it allows them to know when bins are approaching 100% capacity. Picking bins up quickly as soon as they are approaching full allows companies to increase pick ups, which in turn increases profits.

Thanks for your continuing support of Carl Data, as we continue to grow and reach our potential. So much of the technology we have been developing for the last two years is just beginning to show results. There are many more great things to come!

      Carl Data
      Update

Well, I guess you've seen the news by now that we have signed a Securities Exchange Agreement with Astra Smart Systems, and our acquisition is nearing completion. We believe this will likely double our review and growth, since we are merging product lines and technical expertise to address an even larger chunk of the enormous market for Industrial IoT environmental monitoring.

One of the details I wanted to bring to your attention is the acquisition of a Data Centre that can host up to 1,000 servers. A recent Globe and Mail article, Big data needs big storage buildings, highlights the many reasons these Data Centres are important. Global demand for data storage and processing keeps growing, driven by things like the increase in mobile devices, the internet of things and cloud services.

If you have any questions about the Astra acquisition, or the financial trajectory of Carl Data Solutions, I'd like to invite you to a Carl Data Q&A Webinar on June 28th. Our CFO, Alastair Brownlow and myself with give a short presentation, and we welcome your questions and participation.

Our recent webinar about using machine learning for risk mitigation and sustainable resource development was well attended by a number of oil, gas and energy companies, as well as leading civil engineering firms. Check out the recorded version, if you are interested in learning more: Predictive AI Forecasting and Environmental Monitoring to Prevent Asset Impact Events. We will be showcasing the Flood Risk Forecasting solution we developed for Teck Resources at the Mine Water Solutions conference this week at UBC, June 12-14 at Booth #21.

Our Flood Risk Forecasting solutions are continuing to garner interest from many of our large municipal customers. A recent article, Climate Change and Urban Floods: How Machine Learning Can Save Lives, details how Carl Data Solutions is positioned to help protect infrastructure all over North America.

As we have continued to grow, seeking acquisitions and engaged investors, Mackie Research Capital Corp. has been an amazing resource over the past year. Shayne Nyquvest, Mackie Research Capital Executive Vice Chairman, and I discuss our mutually beneficial relationship in the recent BC Tech Issue of Business in Vancouver (pg 25).

Reach out anytime. I’m always happy to take a phone call or come and give a presentation about investing in Carl Data Solutions, just let me know!

      Sincerely,

      Carl Data Update

First off, I want to share with you that our sales pipeline has never been more full of opportunities! From successful pilots of new machine-learning solutions to Smart City projects in our own backyard, our technology and vision are being proven everyday. Our environmental monitoring solutions for flooding, drought and air quality have never been more sought after. September will be an exciting month, so jump on your chance to easily increase your position with Carl Data Solutions now, and then join us for a ride as we grow in leaps and bounds over the next 6 months.

This week, Vancouver had the worst air quality in North America. Last week, Toronto was plagued by flooding caused by torrential downpours, which in turn caused millions of liters of sewage to be discharged by surrounding municipalities. We are well on our way to help mitigate the damage from these kinds of weather situations with machine learning enabled air quality sensor under development, and our Infinitii I&I tool that allows real-time analysis of how stormwater will effect sewage and is being currently piloted by four municipalities in North America. And since our acquisition of Astra Smart Systems, we have been working with the Columbia Basin Trust to help bring interconnected Smart City solutions to larger and smaller municipalities in BC.

On another note we are excited to have a fully CSA certified 1 MegaWatt Tier 1 Data Center operating at Astra's location. Our services include perimetric security, monitoring cameras, and temperature and relative humidity sensors. With the potential to expand to 4 MegaWatts in the near future, we are ideally set-up for meeting the hosting needs of Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Cryptomining operations. We already have one client and are currently fielding interest from several more.

Reach out anytime. I’m always happy to take a phone call or come and give a presentation about investing in Carl Data Solutions, just let me know!

Kunde von Carl Data erhält Auszeichnung im aufstrebenden 20 Mio. US-$ schweren Markt für Gesundheitswarnsysteme

US-$ hat.

      October 2018
      Carl Data
      Update

It's been a busy time here at Carl Data Solutions these past two months! We are experiencing a flurry of activity for both our hardware and software products, with numerous pilots in mining, forestry and wastewater management. Bringing years of experience working on both Wall Street and Bay Street, Julie McClure joined our board of directors to help with IR strategies. We are also excited to welcome Nicholas Jeffery to our team as a key strategist for bring our end-to-end smart city solutions to market.

We have been asked to participate on a number of speaking panels for thought leadership in IoT, including a smart city panel for business excellence hosted by Business in Vancouver, Capre's Greater Vancouver Data Centre Summit, and an IoT event in Northern Texas. We also exhibited at WEFTEC, North America's largest water technology conference, and the Canadian Dam Safety Association conference where we continued to follow up on our progress making the mining industry safer through better tailings pond management.

As we work to wrap up a number of pilots for our break-through Infinitii I&I application, we have experienced a level of interest almost unheard of for this unique software product, and are lining up a number of perspective sales. Making simple actionable information out of advanced analytics that is accessible to operations and management, as well as engineers, is truly a breakthrough for the water/waster industry. So, we are enhancing the tool and gathering feedback every step of the way as we move our pilots towards completion.

Astra's environmental sensor is being piloted by three companies in the mining and forestry industries. This sensor is cost-effective and precise, giving specific information as to the composition of smoke, gases and other substances. Look for more specific details on those pilots in the near future.

Read more about these projects below and reach out to me anytime. I’m always happy to take a phone call or come and give a presentation about investing in Carl Data Solutions.

      Sincerely,

      Greg Johnston

The Issuance marks the second and final issuance of its Shares to AB Embedded as consideration for certain intellectual property assets, tangible assets, and intangible assets purchased by the Company pursuant to the Asset Purchase Agreement. In total, the Company has issued an aggregate of 800,000 Shares to AB Embedded in connection with the transaction.

      Carl Data Solutions Wiederauferstehung

      http://www.carlsolutions.com/assets/resources/CARL_InvestorD…

Carl Data Solutions has invested millions of dollars building the technology that is revolutionizing the way industries extract value from their data. After years of developing a unique set of intelligent applications on a flexible and scalable platform, the technology has now reached a point of maturity at a time when it is most needed due to the explosion in data collection brought through IoT. As our domestic market share increases exponentially, we are both excited and fully prepared to begin global commercialization of our cutting-edge industry- disruptive technology.

CARL DATA SOLUTIONS RELEASES CEO LETTER TO SHAREHOLDERS

August 22, 2019 - Vancouver, British Columbia - Carl Data Solutions Inc. (CSE:CRL, FSE:7C5, OTC:CDTAF) (“Carl Data”), is pleased to provide a corporate update.

      Dear Shareholders,
During the past few months, Carl Data management has been very active in developing business opportunities. This summary of our various corporate developments provides an update on our progress.

Industrial IOT Business Development - Water Monitoring
Building on FlowWorks, our real-time monitoring platform for water and sewer system management, we have created a suite of tools and applications that help predict when and where environmental events like flooding may cause damage to critical infrastructure. By automating calculations with data updated in real-time, engineering reports that previously took days to complete are dynamically generated instantly. This provides significant time and cost savings for our clients. Working closely with trusted, long-term municipal government partners to pilot these products, we are now commercializing these essential risk mitigation tools to a very receptive marketplace.
Cities such as Los Angeles and Toronto and engineering firms such as CH2M and AECOM already rely on our software platform, and 97.5 per cent of our customers renew their contracts. Existing customers are also being upsold to our newly released products that complement their basic software subscriptions. Enquiries about our technology from municipalities, engineering firms and environmental groups has increased exponentially. An estimated $300 billion USD investment is needed to repair and manage aging US sewage systems alone.1 Carl’s products and services are perfectly positioned to meet the needs of governments looking for resources to tackle this massive problem.

Industrial IOT Business Development - Dam & Mines Monitoring
After years of software development and several successful pilot projects around the world, Carl Data is allocating more resources to focus on the lucrative dam monitoring market. There are over 3,500 mine tailings dams2 and 56,000 large water dams worldwide, many aging and ill equipped to manage climate uncertainty and environmental changes. Currently, only 1 per cent of data collected is actually used to ensure productivity and safety within the mining industry.3
Successful pilot projects and subsequent full deployments at several of Teck Resources Limited’s (“Teck”) mine sites have proven that our platform is superior to traditional flood risk assessment methods. We are confident this validation from Teck will establish us as the benchmark for monitoring tools in the industry.
In 2019 just one tailings dam disaster in Brazil resulted in hundreds of deaths, 11.7 million cubic meters of toxic mud pollution4 and over USD$19 billion loss in market capitalization5. To protect investments, save the environment and lives, real time monitoring platforms are required to avoid future disasters. Carl is on the forefront of developing and delivering these solutions.

Industrial IOT Business Development - Oil & Gas 2.0 Monitoring
Carl Data Solutions is changing the way oil & gas companies monitor their pipeline infrastructure. Our holistic approach not only monitors the pipeline itself, but also the surrounding environment. Pipelines are susceptible to breaks and leaks when there are movements in the earth or rivers that they cross become swollen with rainwater. Our automated risk analysis is a completely different approach than current practice of manual calculations and modelling.
We benefit from the current trend of increasingly stricter environmental laws and regulations that demand products like ours are used in infrastructure monitoring. The pipeline maintenance market is estimated at $5.2 billion USD in the US alone while the worldwide the market potential is estimated at $8.3 billion USD.6 Carl Data’s software platform predicts events that can lead to failures and help avoid disastrous oil spills. We are currently discussing solutions with companies in the Unites States, Norway and the Middle East.

      Pilot Project Status
A total of eight innovative machine learning (AI) enabled software pilot projects for infrastructure monitoring are nearing completion this fall. Each pilot is being assessed for full scale deployment. Carl Data’s fully owned subsidiary, Astra Smart Systems Corp.’s AirSafe sensor pilots for mining, forestry and property management were successfully completed. We already have partners in resource development placing orders for these low-cost sensors to expand their environmental monitoring and analysis of their data.

      Transition & Global Commercialization
Carl Data has invested millions of dollars in building technology that revolutionizes the way industry extracts value from data. Now that our technologies have proven their worth to large municipalities and multi-billion dollar corporations, we are prepared for the global commercialization of our product lines.
PRC PARTNERS LTD. (“PRC”), a consultant group based in Hong Kong, with strong representation in China, Germany and Scandinavia is helping us approach potential clients around the globe. PRC is working closely with us during this transition period to introduce new joint venture partners, licensing deals and strategic investors.

      Europe
At the end of September, PRC has planned a roadshow where we will meet with European institutional investors. Engaging with funds that specialize in investing in technology companies like Carl Data will allow us to increase liquidity in our stock and attract analyst coverage. We will also meet with potential clients and joint venture partners in Scandinavia, Germany and the Netherlands. The focus will be on water monitoring and the upcoming Oil & Gas monitoring platform.

      China
Several perspective Chinese clients have approached Carl Data about our real time predictive water and sewer system monitoring platform. Currently, China’s infrastructure does not meet the needs of their expanding population. They have approximately 4,000 treatment plants7 compared to the 16,000 treatment plants in the US8, and four times the population.
As China attempts to modernize their sanitation infrastructure, there is huge potential for Carl Data’s platform. In the past, PRC successfully negotiated major licensing deals in China, and will assist us in securing future licensing deals and joint venture partners.

      Research & Development
Carl Data is building a first of its kind low-cost IoT sensor laboratory in our 12,000 square foot, Trail, BC facility. We will be able to test the performance of our new machine-learning and AI enabled products, and access other sensors and hardware.
We are also developing a new generation of vibrational sensors that will complement our machine learning applications and monitoring platform. We plan to disrupt the existing sensor hardware industry by lowering the cost of deploying environmental monitoring networks and putting the focus on the data versus the data collection device.
For two years, we have been leaders in using machine learning to detect anomalies and problems with data as it is ingested into cloud storage. We are continuing to build on this lead, increasing the amounts of data that can be “cleaned” and recognizing patterns in datasets that can lead to biased results.

      Recent Private Placement
Last week’s private placement at CAD$0.20 per share represented a considerable premium to the current market price, and demonstrates that strategic investors are starting to realize the enormous potential of our industry disruptive technology. Further financings will only be considered at a much higher company valuation. We believe that our current share price does not represent our true potential.

We thank you for your continued support and are looking forward to reporting our continued progress.
