Casino and Sportsbook has become the first casino to advertise on MSN.com, with
a two- month banner ad campaign. But according to Monika Owen, Marketing Manager
of 1Lucky Gambler, what`s more important than the ad campaign is that the casino
has exclusive response rights to all casino-related keyword searches.
Negotiations for a one-year campaign to follow the two-month test period are
currently underway.
The casino was attracted to MSN.com in part due to demographic compatibility.
For example, 63.9% of MSN.com`s visitors are men, a statistic that reflects the
majority of the casino`s visitors.
"Research has indicated that online gambling is expected to generate
approximately $20 billion in the next three years," stated Owen, "we are
committed to capturing a majority market share."
In addition to the MSN.com contract, Owen points to a similar contract with
AltaVista. That contract includes exclusive advertising access to AltaVista`s
"Games/Gambling" category. Additional marketing efforts include banner ads
campaigns on Excite.com, Lycos (in Europe and South America) and HotBot (a Lycos
network).
