Mexican Gold acquires Pueblo Nuevo, La Luz concessions

      2017-05-16 07:43 ET - News Release

      Mr. Brian Robertson reports

MEXICAN GOLD ACQUIRES PUEBLO NUEVO AND LA LUZ 1 CONCESSIONS AT LAS MINAS PROJECT

Mexican Gold Corp. has acquired a 100-per-cent interest in the Pueblo Nuevo and La Luz 1 concessions at the Las Minas project, Veracruz state, Mexico.

Pursuant to the terms of the option agreement, the company acquired the Pueblo Nuevo and La Luz 1 concessions for $150,000 (U.S.) plus VAT (value-added tax) in cash. Ramon Farias Garcia, property owner, retained a 1.5-per-cent royalty, of which 0.5 per cent can be purchased for $500,000 (U.S.) plus VAT. Mexican Gold has a right of first refusal on the remaining 1-per-cent royalty.

Brian Robertson, chairman, president and chief executive officer, stated: "We are very pleased to own a 100-per-cent interest in these two concessions. I wish to thank Mr. Farias for his strong support during the option period and willingness to renegotiate the option agreement on many occasions during difficult market conditions. We now look forward to advancing these properties, which contain historical mines with extensive workings, to the drill-ready stage."

The company recently completed an exploration program at the Pueblo Nuevo concession, including trenching, sampling and mapping. Assay results from the sampling program are pending. The program was focused on identifying drill targets, building on earlier grassroots exploration work completed in 2015.

      The Pueblo Nuevo concession

The Pueblo Nuevo concession covers an area of approximately 97.5 hectares with numerous high-grade epithermal quartz veins and silicified structures hosted in a sedimentary-igneous package. The veins have indicated strike lengths of 100 to 300 metres, with widths varying from 0.50 to three metres.

The concession is the site of several historical underground mines and adits including the La Miqueta, La Miqueta Alta, Marangola, Murcielagos, Dos Rios and El Cobre. The La Miqueta mine was extensively mined in the past and has 21 known levels. Historic mining activity was carried out on narrow quartz veins (10 to 20 centimetres) in both diorite and marble, extending approximately 100 metres on strike and over 100 metres vertically. Recent chip sampling of a vein on level 1 at the historical La Miqueta mine graded to 11.99 grams per tonne gold, 40.8 g/t silver and 1.34 per cent copper or 14.76 g/t gold equivalent (AuEq) (1) over one metre. The Tamiagua vein structure consist of two parallel veins located approximately 16 metres apart and varying from 20 to 50 centimetres in width. Historical mining carried out on one of the veins included three levels with extensive stoping between levels. Recent sampling of the veins graded up 28.02 g/t Au, 14.0 g/t Ag and 0.01 per cet Cu over 0.2 metre.

      SELECTIVE SAMPLING RESULTS

Sample Width Au Ag Cu AuEq
      No. Location (m) (g/t) (g/t) (%) (g/t)

      6995 Level 1 La Miqueta mine 1.0 11.99 40.8 1.34 14.76
      2591 Tamiagua 0.2 28.02 14.0 0.01 29.38
      1360 La Luz I Chip 0.49 6.7 0.01 0.58

      The La Luz concession

The La Luz 1 concession adjoins the west boundary of the main Las Minas concession block and covers an area of approximately 43 hectares. Historical underground workings are present on the property, including Mina Blanca and other smaller adits. The mine workings are located in a deeply eroded valley and targeted a pyritic zone within a highly bleached diorite host rock. A selected chip sample from the pyritic zone graded up to 0.49 g/t gold, 6.7 g/t silver and 0.01 per cent copper. Marble is found on the concession, indicative of a potential underlying skarn zone similar to the six other skarn zones located at Las Minas.

All reported intervals referred to in this news release are sample lengths and additional information is required to determine true widths. Assays are uncut, length-weighted average values.

Gold equivalent (AuEq) calculations use metal prices of $1,250 (U.S.) per ounce for gold, $18 (U.S.) per ounce for silver and $3 (U.S.) per pound for copper. No adjustments have been made for potential relative differences in metal recoveries.

      About Las Minas

The Las Minas project hosts near-surface gold, silver and copper skarn mineralization and high-grade gold-silver epithermal vein deposits. The project comprise six mineral concessions covering approximately 1,616 hectares (3,995 acres), with several small-scale, past-producing mines and a number of untested targets.

The district is host to one of the largest underexplored gold-silver copper skarn systems known in Mexico, and has a production history that extends back to the Aztec era. The Las Minas granodiorite intrusive measures approximately 10 kilometres in diameter and underlies the Las Minas concessions. The mineralization controls and association with magnetite appear to be similar to the Guerrero gold belt, which is the site of the Los Filos and Morelos gold deposits.

Las Minas is an early-stage exploration project and does not contain any mineral resource estimates as defined by National Instrument 43-101 standards of disclosure for mineral projects. The potential quantities and grades disclosed herein are conceptual in nature and there has been insufficient exploration to define a mineral resource for the targets discussed herein. It is uncertain if further exploration will result in these targets being delineated as a mineral resource.

And With One Hole, Mexican Gold (CVE:MEX, FRA:4QW1) Shows Multi-Million Ounce Potential

Mexican Gold (CVE:MEX, FRA:4QW1) is currently preparing its maiden resource and our internal estimate pegs it to be between 750,000 and 1.0 million ounces of gold equivalent.

Yesterday, Mexican Gold announced the result from its sole step-out drill hole, LM-17-CS-04, and we consider it to be the biggest news the company has put out since the discovery of the El Dorado Deposit.

Mexican Gold’s current drill program has primarily been dedicated to in-fill the El Dorado-Juan Bran Zone to complete a maiden resource, slated for late June and early July.

However, Mexican Gold dedicated one hole from the program as a step-out in a totally new area, to test the geological concept at the Cinco Senores historical mining area. Cinco Senores is littered with old workings, including large underground openings.

The hole hit in a big way, intersecting a high-grade two-metre interval with massive chalcopyrite grading 10.8 g/t gold, 41.7 g/t silver and 2.8% copper, or 15.98 g/t gold equivalent.

LM-17-CS-04 was actually a follow-up to three holes drilled back in 2011, headlined by 1.69 g/t AuEq over 22.0 meters. At the time, the results were fairly lackluster, but still warranted further investigation. MEX was finally able to follow-up, drilling a step-out 100 meters to the west of previous drilling:
This drill hole, combined with the 2011 drilling and sampling program, indicates that Cinco Senores has the potential to be another El Dorado/Juan Bran-type zone.
o put this in layman’s terms, imagine a blanket of gold running across a large swathe of land called sill. Over millions of years, valleys were cut and the sill was eroded away where exposed, however, this precious blanket still remains where it is covered by mountains and rock. The remnants of this sill can be seen as ‘outcrop’, depicted by the redline in the above map. These are areas where ‘valleys meet mountain’.

In one valley, drilling deeper and into the side of the mountain, the El Dorado Zone was delineated, however, there was another valley laying 670 meters to the west.

Brian Robertson, Chairman & CEO, along with his geological team, had a strong inkling the sill extended. This step-out confirmed that the blanket actually extended across valley and mountain, and validates that Las Minas is littered with El Dorado-like deposits.

We feel this increases the amount of gold potential at Las Minas from a million ounces to multi-million ounces. Nevertheless, there will need to be a lot of drilling to see what is truly going on.

First things first, we reiterate that Mexican Gold’s maiden resource will be a barn burner. If Cinco Senores can replicate even half of El Dorado/Juan Bran’s potential, Mexican Gold will be the best performing gold explorer of 2017.

Mexican Gold Announces 3,000 Metre Diamond Drilling and Field Exploration Program at Las Minas

Mexican Gold Announces 3,000 Metre Diamond Drilling and Field Exploration Program at Las Minas

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - June 20, 2017) - Mexican Gold Corp. ("Mexican Gold" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:MEX) is pleased to announce a 3,000 metre diamond drilling program for its Las Minas gold - copper - silver project. The drilling program targets expansion of the recently discovered mineralization at the Cinco Senores zone as well as step-out drilling at the El Dorado / Juan Bran zone to extend the on-strike and down-dip mineralization. Additionally, a field exploration program, consisting of trenching, sampling and mapping will be carried out at the Santa Cruz zone to test the upward continuation of the zone above the area of previous drilling. Trenching, sampling and mapping will also be undertaken at the Pueblo Nuevo concession to further outline the quartz veins recently sampled at the site.

Brian Robertson, President and CEO, stated, "The exploration program is focused on three high priority mineralized zones at Las Minas. The program combines a geophysical survey with expansion and discovery diamond drilling and preliminary field exploration work. We believe the program will expand the resource at El Dorado - Juan Bran and lead to the discovery of new zones of mineralization at both Cinco Senores and Santa Cruz. The Pueblo Nuevo concession, with its numerous historical high-grade mines, is a high-priority target area."

Exploration Drilling at Cinco Senores Zone

Widespread mineralization has been outlined at the Cinco Senores zone by numerous historical mine workings, a large ground magnetic geophysical anomaly, plus mapping and sampling. Extensive sampling of the mineralized zone outlined a wide area of highly mineralized skarn (see press release dated February 2, 2011). Recent drilling at Cinco Senores intersected a high-grade 2.0 metre interval with massive chalcopyrite grading 10.8 g/t gold, 41.7 g/t silver and 2.8% copper or 15.98 g/t Au Eq. in hole LM-17-CS-04.(see press release dated May 15, 2017). The strong presence of chalcopyrite-mineralized magnetite at the targeted skarn elevation in the step-out hole, when combined with earlier drilling and sampling results (see press releases dated February 2, 2011 and August 8, 2011) is believed to be indicative of a potential El Dorado/Juan Bran type zone at the Cinco Senores zone. The Cinco Senores zone is located 670 metres west of the El Dorado/Juan Bran zone. The mineralization occurs on the same contact of a district-scale diorite sill with the overlying Cretaceous platform as the large scale El Dorado/Juan Bran zone - see Figure 1.

Figure 1: Cross Section of Cinco Senores, El Dorado/Juan Bran and Santa Cruz Zones

The exploration program at the Cinco Senores zone will commence with a detailed ground magnetic geophysical survey to identify high priority targets for diamond drilling. Ground magnetic geophysical surveys at Las Minas have proven to be very successful for identifying highly mineralized zones. An earlier geophysical survey at Cinco Senores outlined a large magnetic anomaly coincident with historical mine workings (see press release dated February 4, 2013). Following the geophysical survey, a diamond drilling program will be undertaken to test high-priority drill targets and extend the mineralization discovered in Hole LM-17-CS-04.

Expansion Drilling at El Dorado / Juan Bran Zone

The Phase 1 drilling program at the Eldorado/Juan Bran zone was successful in expanding the El Dorado/Juan Bran zone both on-strike and down dip. The drilling results are being incorporated in a mineral resource estimate. The Eldorado/Juan Bran zone remains open both on strike and down dip. The Phase 2 drilling program will focus on expansion of the current footprint of the mineralized zone, which has been outlined up to 420 metres in width, extending over 600 metres down dip, with thicknesses varying from 6 to 38 metres.

Exploration at High-Grade Santa Cruz Zone

The Santa Cruz zone has been partially outlined by high-grade diamond drill hole intersections, including 10.06 g/t Au Eq over 16.0 metres within 2.70 g/t Au Eq over 97.2 metres in hole LM-14-SC-03, 4.36 g/t Au Eq over 25.0 metres in LM-14-SC-07, and 24.1 g/t Au Eq over 9.6 metres within 3.57 g/t Au Eq over 99.0 metres in hole LM-14-SC-08 (see press releases dated May 31, 2017, April 7, 2014 and August 6, 2014). Recent field work identified highly mineralized boulders dislodged from the area above the drill sites. Additionally, in-situ mineralization has been identified in the upward extension area of the known mineralized zone. The area is also the site of a large magnetic geophysical anomaly. A field exploration work program, including trenching, sampling and mapping, is scheduled to identify the upward extension of the high-grade Santa Cruz zone.

Exploration at High-Grade Pueblo Nuevo Concession

The Pueblo Nuevo concession is host to several historical underground mines and adits, including the La Miqueta, La Miqueta Alta, Tamiagua, Marangola, Murcielagos, Dos Rios and El Cobre. The La Miqueta mine was extensively mined in the past and has 21 known levels. Historic mining activity was carried out on narrow (10-20 cm) quartz veins in both diorite and marble, extending approximately 100 metres on strike and over 100 metres down-dip. A recent sampling program at the Tamiagua 1 vein structure yielded up to 24.86 g/t gold and 17.8 g/t silver or 25.13 g/t Au Eq over 0.25 metres, contained within a 0.72 metre interval grading 19.09 g/t gold and 10.6 g/t silver or 19.24 g/t Au Eq (see press release dated May 31, 2017). The Phase 2 field exploration program will consist of trenching, sampling and mapping to extend the known veins on strike and explore for parallel vein systems. All of the vein structures at Pueblo Nuevo strike NNE to NE, indicative of a potential series of parallel vein structures.

      Status of Mineral Resource Estimate

Mexican Gold contracted John T. Boyd Company to complete a mineral resource estimate for the El Dorado/Juan Bran and Santa Cruz zones. The required site visit has been completed and the estimate is well advanced. Because of the steep topography at Las Minas and heavy vegetation cover, the existing PhotoSat survey of the area did not provide sufficient survey accuracy for bare ground elevations. A ground or LiDAR survey is required to obtain the accuracy required for the estimate. Mexican Gold is working with companies providing LiDAR and ground surveys in Mexico. The mineral resource estimate is now expected to be completed by late July, following a LiDAR or ground survey of the resource area.

      About Las Minas

The Las Minas Project hosts near-surface gold - copper and silver skarn mineralization and high-grade gold - silver quartz vein deposits. The project is comprised of six mineral concessions covering approximately 1,616 hectares (3,995 acres), with numerous small scale, past-producing mines and a number of untested targets.

source exploration (vorgänger-unternehmen) hatte wohl einige finanzielle probleme - geht hin
und firmiert die firma um , um dann anschließend/gleichzeitig geld einzusammeln. so u.a. auch
      bei palisade.

nachdem genug geld vorhanden erweitert (zusätzlich) man die sharezahl durch ausgabe von
      debt-optionen zum ausgleich von ausstehenden gehältern. (muss sicherlich sein !);

60% von torex), another 720.000 inf.oz (also etwa 80% von torex) for a total of 1,02 moz
