      Finanzierung secured:
      Dear Sir/Madam,

We are pleased to announce that Photon Energy has closed the long-term non-recourse project financing of its 11.5 MWp proprietary PV power plant portfolio in Hungary. The portfolio is comprised of 17 individual KAT-licensed PV power plants in three different locations.

The 0.5 MWp project in Fertöd was connected in March 2018, the 8 projects in Tiszakécske with a total capacity of 5.5 MWp were connected in December 2018 and the 8 projects in Almásfüzitő, with 5.5 MWp in total, are expected to be connected by the end of January 2019.

All PV power plants were built by Photon Energy’s own EPC subsidiary Photon Energy Solutions HU Kft and the long-term Operations & Maintenance will be provided by the Group’s own O&M subsidiary Photon Energy Operations HU Kft.

Financing amounting to HUF 3.33 billion (EUR 10.4 million) is being provided for a 15-year period by K&H Bank, the Hungarian subsidiary of the Belgian KBC Group and one of Hungary's largest banking and financial services firms as well as a leading local player in project finance.

“We have built and pre-financed the power plants with the proceeds of our EUR bond placement from last year. The refinancing with K&H Bank is a major step in our strategy for the Hungarian market to build at least 50 MWp of PV for our portfolio until year-end 2020. This step allows us to free up again significant liquidity and to build further projects in Hungary this year. Through this transaction we have added KBC, a leading banking group in the CEE region, to our project financing partners for our growing proprietary portfolio, ” said Clemens Wohlmuth, CFO of Photon Energy.

das hier könnte die Dinger potentiell wieder entwerten:
      https://www.pv-tech.org/news/australias-neg-would-trash-rene…

"Australia's National Energy Guarantee (NEG), which has been waived through for a final decision in August, would significantly harm the country's large-scale renewables pipeline, with just 1.5GW expected to be completed by 2025 despite the current 16GW pipeline, according to the head of the country’s solar and storage council.

Moreover, uncertainty around the NEG has already started hitting funding parameters and therefore it has had an immediate impact on all players in the large-scale renewables field, John Grimes, CEO of the Smart Energy Council told PV Tech.

Grimes said the policy announcement has meant that everything in the sector has come to a halt once again, echoing the days when political to-and-froing around the original Renewable Energy Target (RET) had completely stifled the renewable energy sector."

keine Ahnung was ready-to-build Projektrechte in Oz so kosten,
aber jeder Cent pro Watt ist für PE

      0,5 x 3,16 MAUD + 0,25 x 8,25 MAUD

=> also rund 3,5 MEUR wert

Photon Energy NV announces that Canadian Solar will become a shareholder and provide development financing to complete the development of five of its Australian utility scale solar projects totalling 1.14 GWp.

Photon Energy NV announced today that as a result of its development partner selection process managed by its financial advisor Pottinger, the company has signed an agreement for the joint development of five of its utility scale solar projects with a total capacity of 1.14 GWp in New South Wales, Australia with Canadian Solar, one of the world’s largest solar power companies.

Photon Energy’s utility scale solar project pipeline, the largest pipeline in Australia, includes the to-date fully-owned 316 MWp project in Gunning as well as four projects co-developed with a local partner, namely the 178 MWp project in Mumbil, the 165 MWp project in Gunnedah, the 286 MWp project in Suntop and the 196 MWp project in Maryvale, all of which will be further co-developed with Canadian Solar.

Canadian Solar will acquire a 51% shareholding in all five project companies. The equity capital contributed by Canadian Solar is subject to certain development milestones, joint management processes and other terms customary for project co-development and covers the development budgets to bring all five projects to the ready-to-build stage. Post-transaction, Photon Energy NV will retain a 49% stake in the Gunning project and 24.99% stakes in the four other projects.

“Canadian Solar is delighted to partner with Photon Energy and bring 1.14 GWp into the market,” commented Dr. Shawn Qu, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Canadian Solar. “As a very active developer for solar power plants in Australia, we will continue to strengthen our leading position in the market by partnering with Photon Energy.”

PHOTON ENERGY EXPANDS ITS STRATEGIC FOCUS TO WATER

Photon Energy announced its strategic expansion to water management, adding it as a parallel business line to its core solar activities and aiming to offer comprehensive container-based solutions for off-grid systems worldwide by combining water purification powered by solar energy.

Photon Energy NV is pleased to announce a fundamental pivot in its strategic focus by adding water purification, remediation and treatment as a parallel business line. By establishing its subsidiary Photon Water Technology (PWT) Photon Energy’s management strongly believes in the exceptional potential of container-based water purification and treatment solutions powered primarily by solar energy. Therefore, the combination of the company’s expertise in off-grid solar installations integrating PV plants and energy storage with water management solutions will enable Photon Energy Group to provide grid-independent solutions and bring water and energy to essentially any place in the world.

In line with Photon Energy’s business model for solar PV plants, the company intends to cover the entire life cycle of water purification and remediation systems both as a turn-key supplier as well as a provider of the final product – drinking water. Thanks to available and reliable technologies to turn both saline and contaminated fresh water into drinking water, PWT offers packaging the customized water solutions into containers and thus to deploy these to any location. Finally, Photon Energy’s proprietary monitoring and control software will allow integrated real-time management and efficient operations and maintenance.

Photon Energy based the operations of its subsidiary Photon Water Technology s.r.o. in Liberec in the Czech Republic, which will act as the Group’s competence centre for water management. Liberec is a highly attractive location due to the Technical University of Liberec, with which PWT closely cooperates and which represents one of the world’s leading nanotechnology hubs developed in recent years. Nanotechnology solutions are rapidly coming to the forefront as the most effective approach to water filtration, thus allowing PWT to provide modern and highly efficient water technology solutions for a wide range of applications. Photon Energy will market its Water services and solutions via its brand “Photon Water”. More information is available on www.photonwater.com.

PWT is 65% owned by Photon Energy NV with the remaining equity held by management. While 2017 is expected to be a start-up period for PWT, the corporate expansion to water activities is meant to become a significant contributor to Photon Energy’s revenue growth and profitability from 2018 onwards.

“Following our customer’s needs and demand for accessible, affordable, clean and safe drinking water we expect to enter markets and to win customers which would not be addressable with our solar energy solutions alone. After careful analysis of various strategic options over the past two years, we have come to the conclusion that solar energy will continue being the highest potential renewable energy source, while worldwide the supply of drinking water is rapidly becoming the most serious problem facing humanity,” commented Georg Hotar, CEO of Photon Energy NV.

PWT is managed by Dr Petr Kvapil, who has a long track record in realising water technology projects internationally. “This expansion reaffirms Photon Energy’s driving vision that Energy and Water must be Accessible, Affordable, Clean and Safe for Everyone and my team is excited to act on making this vision a reality for the less advantaged regions on the planet,” added Petr Kvapil.
