ORIGINAL: RavenQuest Announces Significant Supply Agreement With Wayland Group

2018-12-18 13:06 ET - News Release

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Dec. 18, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- RavenQuest BioMed Inc. (the “Company” or “RavenQuest”) – (CSE: RQB OTCQB: RVVQF Frankfurt: 1IT) and Wayland Group (CSE:WAYL) (FRANKFURT: 75M) (OTCQB:MRRCF) (“Wayland”) are pleased to announce that they have entered into a supply agreement whereby Wayland will purchase up to 8,000 kg of dried flower cannabis from RavenQuest in 2019. The total quantity will be shipped periodically throughout 2019 as product becomes available.

As part of the supply agreement, Wayland will immediately make a one-time payment of $2 million to RavenQuest in anticipation of the first major shipment of cannabis flower in March 2019. Pricing for the transaction is comparable with prevailing wholesale cannabis prices.

“RavenQuest is very excited to be working with Wayland as we both do our part to meet the huge demand for cannabis across Canada,” stated George Robinson, CEO of RavenQuest. “Negotiations were smooth and without major challenges; Ben Ward and his team at Wayland are a pleasure to work with. This supply agreement is a significant win for both sides of the transaction. For RavenQuest’s part, 8,000 kg represents about 80% of our estimated production for 2019, meaning this transaction provides us much more certainty when it comes to selling our 2019 production at competitive prices,” Robinson continued.

“We are thrilled to be working with George and his team at RavenQuest to provide their specialty indoor product to recreational cannabis consumers across Canada through our existing distribution network. This agreement provides for efficiencies for both companies, constructively working together to meet Canadian demand through our existing resources. At the same time, this allows us to channel our existing supply to the European market,” stated Ben Ward, CEO of Wayland.

Maricann Group Inc., through its subsidiaries, is operating under the Wayland Group name. For further details see the press release dated September 24, 2018.

Mailen Sie Die MAL AN.

vielleicht sollte RQB mal ne Aussenstelle in Afghanistan eröffnen.

7/12/2018 Israel likely to allow medical cannabis exports by year-end: senior MP - Israel will likely allow exports of medical cannabis by the end of the year, a top lawmaker said on Thursday, a move that would boost state coffers and slow the growing number of firms establishing farms abroad. Israeli companies - befitting from a favorable climate and expertise in medical and agricultural technologies - are among the world’s biggest producers of medical cannabis.The finance and health ministries estimate exports could bring in about $1 billion a year - but some MPs have up to now stopped Israeli-grown cannabis going abroad, fearing more cultivation could push more drugs onto the streets at home, reports Reuters;
7/12/2018 Hemp legalization included in new farm bill could 'open the floodgates' on nascent industry - The final 2018 Farm Bill is expected to be voted on as early as next week. The bill would legalize hemp cultivation and could be a catalyst for explosive growth in a nascent industry that some forecast could top $20 billion by 2022. The long-awaited bill would remove industrial hemp from the federal government's list of controlled substances, making it a lawful agricultural commodity. The hemp legislation introduced by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., earlier this year also allows states to become the primary regulators of hemp cultivation, enables researchers to apply for federal grants and makes the crop eligible for crop insurance. "This open the floodgates for this industry to grow very rapidly and scale on a national level," said Bethany Gomez, director of research for Brightfield Group, a cannabis market researcher based in Chicago, reports CNBC;
7/12/2018 Cracks Form in Cannabis Surge After Short Seller Targets Aphria - Pot-stock euphoria appears to be wearing off, with a short-seller report targeting Aphria Inc. raising broader questions about governance and financial disclosure in the adolescent industry. Aphria’s stock price was chopped in half and several other pot stocks including Aurora Cannabis Inc. and Canopy Growth Corp. fell following the report from Quintessential Capital Management and Hindenburg Research, which alleged Aphria paid inflated prices for assets held by insiders. The report is adding to concerns that the sector can’t justify the lofty valuations reached shortly before Canada legalized recreational cannabis in October. Since Oct. 16, the day before legalization took effect, the Horizons Marijuana Life Sciences Index ETF has lost 41 percent, pressured by supply shortages and weaker-than-expected earnings, reports Bloomberg;
6/12/2018 Cannabis Shorts Gain After Tilson Conference Despite Expense - For those who think cannabis stocks are over-valued, it’s getting expensive. The cost to borrow and the frequency of recalled shares is rising as demand to short the stocks grows, according to financial analytics firm S3 Partners. Cannabis stocks handed shorts a $157 million mark-to-market gain on Tuesday driven by losses in Canopy Growth Corp., Aurora Cannabis Inc., Tilray Inc. and Aphria Inc., according to S3 managing director Ihor Dusaniwsky. Tilray and Aphira were mentioned as attractive shorts at Whitney Tilson’s short conference in New York on Monday. Aristides Capital LLC ’s Chris Brown argued that growing marijuana is a commodity business and said Tilray was overvalued by more than 40 percent, reports Bloomberg;
6/12/2018 Luxembourg PM Bettel begins second term of coalition government - Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel was sworn in for a second term on Wednesday after his liberal-led coalition secured a narrow victory in an election in October. Bettel’s government plans a stronger environmental drive, with some free public transport from 2020, to invest more in public services and to legalize recreational use of cannabis, reports Reuters;
5/12/2018 Evidence thin on medical pot, EU illegal drugs body says - Evidence is still thin on the benefits of medicinal use of cannabis, an EU agency that monitors illegal drugs and addiction said on Tuesday, urging more study into the topic as growing numbers of countries allow it. The Lisbon-based EMCDDA said in its first report on the topic that so far there were “important gaps in the evidence”. A handful of regulated pharmaceuticals use chemicals derived from cannabis, such as GW Pharmaceuticals’ Sativex which is approved for treating symptoms of multiple sclerosis. But cannabis itself and most products made from it are governed by countries’ individual criminal laws on illegal drugs, which may or may not allow medicinal use, reports Reuters;
4/12/2018 Passing of 2018 Farm Bill Activates CBD Stocks as Hemp Becomes Effectively Legal - A landmark deal has recently been struck on the 2018 Farm Bill, ending months of partisan debate, and effectively legalizing the growing of hemp for the first time in nearly a century. The agreement's impact is set to not only resonate across farmer's fields in all 50 states, but also into hemp-related stocks such as CROP Infrastructure Corp., GW Pharmaceuticals plc, Aurora Cannabis Inc., Isodiol International Inc., and Namaste Technologies Inc. Technically speaking, hemp is a species of the cannabis plant containing less than 0.3% tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana, but yielding its non-psychoactive cannabinoid cousin, cannabidiol (CBD). The key takeaway from this newly reached agreement is that CBD will no longer be in a legal grey area. News of the Farm Bill's incoming approval has put a spotlight on companies that have ramped up their exposure to CBD, such as CROP Infrastructure Corp., which earlier this year established a 2,115-acre hemp-CBD farm in Nevada. In the lead-up to nation-wide legalization, CROP has already engaged an ISO/GMP rated extraction facility developer to build a one-ton-per-day extraction facility on the farm, reports Reuters;
3/12/2018 Israel's Cannbit eyes medical cannabis growth, export in Portugal - Cannbit, an Israeli grower of medical cannabis, said on Monday it was examining the possibility of establishing a cannabis farm in Portugal as part of its strategy to expand outside of Israel. Cannbit said it was possible to grow medical cannabis in Portugal and export it from there, with the necessary licenses and permits required by authorities in the country. “We continue to implement our growth strategy, which includes the establishment of farms in Israel and abroad, in order to grow medical cannabis and sell it both in Israel and abroad,” said CEO Yaron Razon. He noted that includes sales to Canada’s Namaste, which bought a 10 percent stake in Cannbit in June even before the firm receives an export permit from Israel. Export of medical cannabis in Israel is not yet allowed but the government has been reviewing the matter after taking initial steps toward creating an export policy, reports Reuters;
3/12/2018 Surging Cannabis Beverage Company Expands Reach With Acquisition - A beverage company that has been riding the recent marijuana stock surge is using some of that equity to get bigger. New Age Beverages Corp., which has seen its share price more than triple since it mentioned plans to make CBD-infused drinks in September, is buying Morinda Inc., in a deal valued at $85 million. The acquisition of the American Fork, Utah-based drinks company, which sells products through multi-level marketing, will boost New Age’s revenue five-fold and give it a larger international presence. The deal includes $10 million worth of New Age stock, with the remaining balance being paid in cash, according to Brent Willis, the company’s chief executive officer. The company has taken advantage of the increased interest in cannabis to raise $90 million in recent months and is putting some of that work to fund the deal. New Age, a small maker of tea and kombucha, captured investors’ attention earlier this year when it said it planned to launch a line of CBD-infused drinks nationally. The ingredient is found in marijuana, but unlike cannabinoid cousin THC, it does not get users high. At the end of August, the stock was trading under $1.50. The shares shot up to $8.95 on Oct. 1, but have since pared part of the gain, reports Bloomberg."

"Supply shortage persists nationwide, B2B pricing is excellent"
