Mit einem Tageshoch von 68$ können die Aktien von der Macrovision Corp. (MVSN) heute aufwarten. Derzeit liegen sie mit knapp über 17 Prozent oder 9 9/16$ im positiven Kursbereich bei 65 9/16$. Das Unternehmen, gelistet an der NASDAQ, entwickelt, designed und vermarktet Video-Sicherheitstechnologien und Produkte die Viedeokopien, DVD und anderen Medienerzeugnissen Kopierschutz verleihen. Die Macrovision-Produkte werden an kommerzielle Videokopierer, Softwareunternehmen, professionelle Filmstudios und Set-Top-Decoder-Hersteller geliefert. In Konkurrenz steht die Company dabei zu Norsat International (NSATF), Rainbow Technologies (RNBO) und Scientific Atlanta (SFA).

Macrovision brachte gestern seine Ergebniszahlen für das erste Quartal heraus. Demnach erwirtschaftete Macrovision ohne Goodwill-Abschreibungen einen Gewinn von 4,8 Mill. $ oder 12 Cents je Aktie. Das entspricht einer Zunahme gegenüber dem ersten Quartal des Vorjahres von 160 Prozent. Nach Goodwill-Abschreibungen lag der Gewinn bei 4,4 Mill. $ oder 11 Cents je Aktie. Die Einnahmen stiegen um 78 Prozent auf 12,7 Mill. $ an. Die Aktien wurden bereits zweimal gesplittet, jeweils im Verhältnis 2:1.

Daraufhin bekräftigte ING Barings nochmals ihre strong buy-Einstufung für die Aktien des Unternehmens. Das Preisziel wurde ebenso angehoben. Es steht jetzt bei 75$. Nach Meinung der Analysten wurde das Ergebnis besonders vom DVD-Absatz angetrieben. Darüberhinaus erwartet man aus diesem Grund auch starke Ergebnissefür die noch folgenden Quartale.

Das Analystenteam von Chase H&Q erhöhte das Rating von buy auf strong buy. In den nächsten 12 Monaten sollen 100$ als Targetpreis erreicht werden. Die starke Nachfrage im DVD-Bereich und bei CD-ROMs für den Computerbereich, sowohl die in der Pipeline befindlichen neuen Produkte sorgen für einen positiven Geschäftsausblick.

Sonopress (www.sonopress.com), a member of Bertelsmann Arvato AG, is a leading information media manufacturer catering mainly to the music, video, and computer hardware/software and entertainment industries.

SafeAudio is a 100% software-based, Red Book compliant, audio copy protection solution for music CDs designed to prevent unauthorized copying of CD albums, or particular tracks on a CD.
