Zitat von Morphy101: You should check your facts! I suggest you start here:
https://www.kraiglabs.com/comparison/

First the length of the tread has nothing to do with the strength of the tread!! 5 km of silk won't be any stronger the 1 m of silk! If you would say thickness of tread I would agree. Strength has to do with the complexity of the DNA chain: natural silk/spider silk DNA is a far more complex DNA than E.Coli DNA which Amsilk uses. I have seen no test results published on their "goo silk" or Biosteel and I find their below statement dubious to say the least. They have mostly focused on cosmetics and not technical fibres and I doubt Boing will find any good use for the fibres.

"Biosteel® fiber is identical in molecular composition to spider silk, a
material known for its strength, flexibility and lightweight structure."

-IQ190 lol. Maybe 1 person in a bilion people has an IQ of 190 and these people certainly wouldn't be able to function very wel in society due to other limiting factors.
The facts...
https://www.kraiglabs.com/management-team/ Btw 150 is the IQ for CEO K. Thompson...

Sorry I made a few mix-ups.
You're right, I quoted my post from memory - a few months ago, and actually confused Rice and Thomson.

Biosteel is the original brand name of nexia biotech.
However, I don't know whether amsilk took over these rights, overwrote them after the nexia insolvency or simply ignored them.

Do you know more about this?
In a german magazine, I mean braindeins, i read about the advantages of amsilk silk.
should kraig have the advantages in this respect on her side, all the better, my information was different, but also not the most current.

it's a shame that i'm not there, but my nose didn't deceive me and i was on the trigger early enough.

Ganz Allgemein.

Spider Silk Production Breakthrough from Kraig Biocraft Laboratories Nachrichtenquelle: Business Wire (engl.) | 30.05.2019, 13:05 | 178 | 0 | 0 Kraig Biocraft Laboratories, Inc. (OTCQB: KBLB) (“Company”), the leading developer of spider silk based fibers, announces today the creation of the next generation of recombinant spider silk using the Company’s new design, gene editing, and incorporation approaches. Kraig Labs designed this approach to customize mechanical properties for specific commercial markets and has demonstrated the ability to more quickly, accurately, and efficiently, generate new transgenics. This is the material science breakthrough that the Company has been pushing for since establishing the Dragon Silk line; this new transgenic was specifically engineered for high strength and significantly higher protein expression levels. This achievement marks a significant milestone in Kraig Labs’ mission to produce and commercialize eco-friendly materials that exceed the performance and strength of native spider silk. “This breakthrough has powerful ramifications that affect the core of how we develop future spider silk materials,” said COO Jon Rice. “These newly confirmed transgenics mark a revolutionary advancement in capability of our spider silk materials. The new tools developed by Dr. Trevor Kane and our research team will allow us to target commercial markets that were not originally on our radar.” Screening of these samples confirms that the gene edit was successful, validating the underlying protocols and genetic constructs. Furthermore, western blot analysis, performed on the silk, confirms expression of this new and potentially much more powerful spider silk protein. These results open the door for the Company to deploy this new methodology towards a variety of tailored spider silk designs. Kraig Labs expects these new recombinant spider silk fiber lines will open up broader commercial opportunities and complement the Company’s existing Monster Silk and Dragon Silk technologies.

Hello Travis,

Love you site. Love the think-o-later.

I did mention to you some time ago that I have already called the true “The Last Stock You’ll Ever Need”. It is Kraig Biocraft. KBLB They are on the verge of producing pure spider silk made form silkworm. Check it out. Kraig has successfully negotiated a license to use Sigma-Aldrich's powerful zinc finger technology to accelerate its scientific research and product development, along with an option to commercialize the resulting biomaterials in the textile and biomedical fields.
