Eurobio Scientific -- 2 neue Tests für das Coronavirus

Heute hat Eurobio die endgültigen Zahlen für 2020 mitgeteilt: Umsatz mehr als verdreifacht auf 189.2 Mio. €, Nettogewinn verdreiundzanzigfacht auf 73,5 Mio. €, Cashposition mehr als verachtfacht auf 65,6 Mio. €. Und zusätzlich u.a. die Aussage, dass sich der starke Anstieg der Cashposition auch im ersten Quartal 2021 fortgesetzt hat.

Und das bei einer Marktkaptalisierung von zzt. 241 Mio. €. Die Anleger müssen schon sehr skeptisch sein, was die künftigen Absatzentwicklung v.a. in Bezug auf die Corona-Tests anbelangt.

Eurobio Scientific (FR0013240934, ALERS, PEA-PME eligible), a French group leader in specialty in vitro medical diagnostics, announces the CE marking of the ALLPLEX ™ CORONAVIRUS panel, which Eurobio Scientific distributes exclusively in France. It is the first real-time multiplex PCR * CE marked CE IVD test for the detection of Coronavirus (sarbecovirus), and for the typing of Covid-19, directly from the primary tube.

ALLPLEX ™ CORONAVIRUS is a kit developed and manufactured by the partner SEEGENE ™ (Seoul, South Korea), allowing the detection and differentiation in a single well of PCR, sarbecoviruses as well as 2 genes for the identification of Covid-19. ALLPLEX ™ technology gives the opportunity to simultaneously detect more than 20 respiratory pathogens and type different virus genotypes (influenza, coronavirus, RSV).

The ALLPLEX ™ CORONAVIRUS kit enriches Eurobio Scientific's offer in Molecular Biology and makes it possible to envisage a complete offer for respiratory pathogens.

The Allplex ™ Coronavirus test is one of the first diagnostic tests for Covid-19 to obtain CE marking.

In parallel, and building on its R&D expertise, Eurobio Scientific continues to develop its own diagnostic kit for Covid-19 coronavirus by real-time PCR. This will be available in a few weeks and will enrich the existing EurobioPlex range. This test, complementary to that of Seegene, could be distributed to laboratories worldwide. It will be functional on several instruments, in particular the T-COR 8 ™ designed for emergency applications, in unit test performed patient by patient, or decentralized near patients (POC) in authorized laboratories.

* The “Polymerase Chain Reaction” (PCR) is a method based on the selective multiplication of target DNA sequences, which makes it possible to detect specific DNA sequences present in a sample.

The Allplex Coronavirus panel is a real-time multiplex PCR test for the detection of Coronaviruses (sarbecoviruses), developed by Eurobio Scienfic's partner, Seegene (Seoul, South Korea). This test allows the simultaneous detection and differentiation in a single PCR well of sarbecoviruses, as well as two genes for the identification of the Chinese coronavirus 2019 nCov.

Pending CE marking, Allplex Coronavirus is currently an RUO (Research Use Only) test and is already marketed for research laboratories.

In parallel, Eurobio Scientific is developing its own diagnostic kit for nCov coronavirus by real-time PCR. It will be available in a few weeks and will enrich the existing EurobioPlex range. This test is complementary to that of Seegene and will be functional in particular on the T-Cor 8 thermal cycler, designed for emergency applications.
