Summary for all interested.
The announcement from DevEx Resources highlights significant intersections of shallow Rare Earth Elements (REE) mineralization in surface clays at the Kennedy Project in Queensland. Key points from the news include:
- Wide-spaced shallow reconnaissance drilling has identified several intercepts of over 1,000ppm Total Rare Earth Oxide (TREO) in clays from the surface.
- Preliminary leach test work demonstrates good recoveries of REE using ammonium sulphate solution in weak acidic conditions, supporting the potential for favorable Ionic Adsorption REE Clay mineralization.
- The drilling has encountered these REE-bearing clays from the surface on broad drill-hole spacings, and further drilling is required to fully assess the project's potential.DevEx Resources has engaged rare earth processing experts at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) to conduct further metallurgical test work.
DEV Price at posting: 33.0¢ Sentiment: Buy Disclosure: Held

Excellent news - I watched the RRS presentation for the U, and a decision on buying back in - but the REE blew me away, excellent news.
1. They already have good evidence that it is an adsorption deposit - not an absorption one which would be too expensive to treat.
2. It is located close to the granite to the north - which is likely the source of the weathered REE source minerals.
3. Because the clay has adsorption quality the grade is not high, that's because even ground water could remobilise the rare earth minerals and send them further from source. That could also create local areas of higher grade, almost certain IMO.
4. The major producing adsorption clay REEs are in the tropics (South China, and Brazil noteably)
5. Bryn Jones is a NED and an Industrial Chemist - an ideal background for someone seeking to process Ionic Adsorption REEs. Ion exchange ligands are within his sphere. Further Tim Goyder (he made a great presention by Q and A for LTR yesterday) will see that the right men are available for the job when necessary.
As a further aside Tim Goyder's lithium offsider David Richards will be presenting at 2.15 today for MI6 - which I hold for lithium in the potential new Gascoyne Lithium Hub.
Very happy to be on board. Not going to miss TG's next company maker.

1 March 2023
Reverse circulation and diamond drilling commences to test new IP anomalies at Sovereign Nickel-Copper-PGE Project
Drilling expedited to test shallow anomalies for potential disseminated Ni-Cu-PGE mineralisation, to the north of previously completed Hole 2
DevEx Resources Limited (ASX: DEV, “DevEx” or “the Company”) is pleased to advise it has commenced a short program of Reverse Circulation (RC) and diamond drilling at the Sovereign Nickel-Copper-PGE Project in Western Australia’s Julimar Province. The Sovereign Project lies within the highly prospective Julimar Complex and is located north of Chalice Mining Limited’s (ASX: CHN) Julimar Ni-Cu-PGE Project.
With systematic ground-based electromagnetic (EM) surveys currently underway, DevEx also recently trialled two Induced Polarization (IP) traverses testing for near-surface disseminated nickel-copper-PGE sulphides within the prospective ultramafic rocks at Sovereign (Figure 1). IP is a geophysical exploration method used to locate chargeable metals in the sub-surface and is specifically suited to mapping disseminated sulphide mineralisation.
Initial results from this trial survey have resulted in the identification of two near-surface IP chargeability anomalies, with the southern anomaly (Figures 2 and 3) located within the prospective ultramafic rocks north of both diamond hole 21SVDD02 (Hole 2) completed in late 2021 (see ASX announcement, 23 December 2021) and sub-surface elevated palladium (Pd) results previously reported in shallow air-core drilling.
Two RC holes are planned to test these IP anomalies to determine whether they are related to disseminated nickel-copper-PGE mineralisation.
In addition, a review of Hole 2 indicates the presence of elevated PGEs together with copper sulphides at the base of the intrusion and in the underlying volcanic rocks. DevEx plans to extend Hole 2 to determine the extent of copper sulphides beneath the intrusion.
In conjunction with this drilling, ground EM is continuing over the eastern half of the intrusion. This survey will likely take another two months to complete and is testing for massive sulphide Ni-Cu-PGE mineralisation within the mafic-ultramafic intrusion.
Any significant conductors identified from this survey would be fast-tracked to drilling.
