Anja-Isabel Dotzenrath, BP's head of gas and low carbon, said that problems in the United States included permitting, the time lag between signing power purchase agreements and projects being built and a lack of inflationary adjustment mechanisms.

"Ultimately, offshore wind in the U.S. is fundamentally broken," Dotzenrath told an FT Energy Transition conference in London.

"There is a fundamental reset needed in the speed of permitting, security of permitting, etc..."

She added that BP and Equinor are studying a new 10-point proposal by U.S. regulators that would allow the companies to re-bid for projects in an "accelerated" process.

Das hat nichts mit Windgang zu tun.
Wenn die Anlagen statt prognostiziert 20 Jahren nur 15 oder gar 12 Jahre laufen, bekommt irgendwer ein finanzielles Problem.

Die nächsten Horrornachrichten von den Windbeuteln sind vorprogrammiert.
Bei vielen Offshore-Windanlagen zeichnen sich deutlich kürzere Laufzeiten an
aufgrund Korrosion, trotz der vielen umweltschädlichen Antikorrosion- Chemikalien.
Noch wird das Thema unterdrückt, aber wenn die Anlagen stillstehen,
wird es nicht mehr zu verheimlichen sein.

"We are still upholding a real option to walk away," Orsted CEO Mads Nipper told Bloomberg News in an interview. "But right now, we are still working towards a final investment decision on projects in America."

Im Annual Report 2022 weist Orsted selber auf ihre Probleme in den US hin:
