Irgendwie verwuindert es mich, daß dieser Wert gerade jetzt, wo die Mega-News für den gesamten Biotechsektor unmittelbar bevorsteht, so wenig diskutiert wird.
Über Oti, Comdirekt, adultshop etc redet man sich hier den Mund fusselig, und über Celera, Protein design, Sequenom und co so gut wie nichts, obwohl hier schon über 100% Gewinn (PDLI) in 2 Monaten zu holen waren und noch sind!!!!!!!

Zu Celera hab ich noch folgende Info, die sowohl die Chance, als auch das Risiko beschreibt:

Groups in tug-of-war to announce genome map

WASHINGTON, June 20 (Reuters) - Scientists, health officials and politicians were in a trans-Atlantic tug-of-war on Tuesday to decide where, when and how to announce the completion of a rough draft of the human genome -- all the genes that make us what we are.
With both the public and private efforts just about finished sequencing and assembling the human genome, British researchers on Tuesday told reporters they would call their own news conference next Monday to make the long-awaited announcement.
They said they were coordinating with counterparts in United States.
"Details are still being worked out," a spokesman for the Sanger Center at Britain`s Cambridge University, which is doing a portion of the work of the publicly-funded Human Genome Project, said at a briefing.
But U.S. government officials who asked not to be named expressed annoyance and surprise that their Sanger colleagues had briefed reporters. "I don`t know what they are trying to do," said one.
The White House denied a report published in the Wall Street Journal saying the announcement would be made in Washington on Monday.
"While we look forward to their announcements, and we know it will be watershed event that will vault biomedical research ahead, there is no time, date and place scheduled for any joint announcement, nor is there a White House event scheduled," Jeff Smith, of the Office of Science and Technology Policy, said.
At stake is public credit for one of the biggest scientific undertakings ever -- mapping out the detailed blueprint of all the human genetic information, including not only the actual genes, but the bits of DNA that control the genes.
It is only one of many steps towards decoding the genome and learning how to read it for the errors that lead to disease, for the differences that make one person thinner than the next and for the blueprint of life itself.
But it will be a landmark step, and one that both Celera Genomics Inc. <CRA.N>, based in Rockville, Maryland, and the Human Genome Project have been racing to reach.
Both are far ahead of their original schedules, while denying that they are in a race or in any sort of competition at all. Earlier this month Celera president and chief scientific officer Craig Venter and Dr. Francis Collins, head of the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), said they were still trying to find ways to cooperate.
One government official said some sort of joint announcement would ease some of the tension.
"What is being worked out is an opportunity for both camps to make their milestone announcements on the same day, not simultaneously but possibly back to back," the official, who aksed not to be named, said.
"This is all part of an effort to take these announcements and not have the acrimony and backbiting that has characterized this whole effort for years. Both research groups want peace."
The official said it was still possible that president Bill Clinton would take part in the announcement. "Hopefully something can be worked out so we can present a very nice face," the official said.
A Celera spokeswoman said on Tuesday simply: "I can`t talk about this."
Venter, who used to work at the National Institutes of Health, has said the job is too big for anyone to do alone, but the two sides have been unable to reach an agreement for jointly publishing the data.
Celera, which cooperated with public scientists on an earlier project to sequence the fruit fly genome, says it wants to ensure that no company could sell the database, which the Human Genome Project has been posting on the Internet as it goes along and which Celera has also pledged to publish.
Celera has finished the sequencing portion of one human being`s genome, but the assembly step means putting the code of As, Cs, Ts and Gs -- the "bases" or nucleotides that make up DNA -- into an order that scientists can begin to interpret.
The Human Genome Project is expected to announce that it, too, has finished its sequencing of a mosaic of several different people and has assembled this, but it is using a different method to Celera`s.
Both teams have to fill in gaps and are nowhere near to even knowing precisely how many genes there are in the miles and miles of code, let alone what they all mean.

Ich glaube auch an CELERA, auch wenn niemand so richtig weiß wie diese Firma ihr Geld verdienen will. Mr. Venter sorgt für ständige Meldungen über Celera, dies gibt der Aktie vermutlich mehr Auftrieb als irgendwelche charttechnische Ergüsse.
Bin versehentlich bei 185,- eingestiegen, habe aber bei 60,- und bei 77,- wieder nachgelegt. Herr Venter und seine Supermannschaft hat mich überzeugt.

Hallo,
irgendwelche Analysten haben heute in Amiland gesagt, dass man vorsichtig seien sollte bei Biotechs, sie wären jetzt schließlich durchschnittlich schon wieder 70% in kürzester Zeit gestiegen und eh schon überteuert.

Die Deppen an der Wall Street haben auf die Analyse heftiger reagiert als ich dachte.
In irgend einem Mag. stand ein Bericht, dass die Biotechwerte leich nocheinmal einbrechen könnten und dass man Vorsicht walten lassen muss etc.
Nichts besonderes aber der Bio markt ist sehr sensibel.
Mit meinen Kurszielen wirds wohl nix, aber ich denke dass wir bei CELERA morgen einen Aufschwung sehen MÜSSEN !!
Wenn morgen kein + steht gegen Ende des Handelstages - verkaufen oder hoffen dass am Montag doch noch die erhoffte Nachricht kommt

Die Vorzeichen stehen gut ich denke Celera wird heute im Plus schließen!! Ob kräftig oder nur ein bißchen im Plus ist schwer
einzuchätzen, denke aber die Leute bei den Amis sehen die jetzigen
Kurse als letzte billige Einstiegsmöglichkeit!!

Wir werden es sehen, vorbörslich steigen die Biotechs aber wieder!!
