(ids lhsg, sino i, nanopierce, calypte, nanophase, synsorb, plambeck, china online, team, scmm, onvista)

schreinbt mal was.. heute nachmittag werde ich mich entscheiden..

im moment tendiere ich fuer hrct...

      Hi.

      US-Konjunkturdaten - Ergebnisse:

      Baubeginne Mai: 1.59 Millionen/ - 3.9% (Prognose: 1.62 Millionen/ annualisiert)
      Baugenehmigungen Mai: 1.492 Millionen/ - 4.3% (1.56 Millionen/ annualisiert)

      In Freudiger Erwartung

      Hallo

"Hartcourt`s strategy has been so successful not because Hartcourt is an American company, but because it relies on local leading companies in China. As a result, it is poised for even greater success in the future.

U.S. companies are trying to break into the Chinese market, but many have not been successful. Hartcourt understands the process in China. They understand how to work with that process. Hartcourt has an extremely large head start in the market. Dr. Yang believes quite strongly that if Hartcourt cannot successfully implement the existing joint ventures---plus others in the works---then nobody can. Hartcourt has the relationships and the connections. Nobody else is in the position to accomplish these goals that Hartcourt now occupies. Once the Chinese government finishes defining its regulations, Hartcourt will be the first to get it done."

      Nochmals Entschuldigung

und hier frisch auf den tisch :)

The Hartcourt Companies Inc.: Asien goes Internet

      Beteiligungen:

48 Prozent an Sinobull.com.
100 Prozent hält Sinobull.com an UAC.
      Management:

      an anderer stelle:

      ???

      Hi HartcourtlerInnen,

      We will see.

Nokia brings WAP to life in China

Telecommunications hardware vendor Nokia has just signed a major deal with China Unicom for the supply or the Nokia Artus messaging platform. China is now the largest GSM/PCS market in the world by far, so any deal with Unicom is bound to generate significant revenues. Nokia is not, however, saying how large the deal is.
The contract will be good news for Unicom GSM mobile phone users, since it will allow the introduction of WAP (wireless application protocol) services to the carrier`s network.
Critics of WAP have been saying for the past few few months that the technology is little more than a passing fad. With China`s massive GSM user base of 5 million now poised to embrace the technology, its future now seems assured for some time to come.
Nokia says that the Anhui, Chongqing Hebei and Zhejiang branches of China Unicom have signed agreements to order the Artus messaging platform, which acts as a gateway between information and applications on the Internet and a mobile phone.
Equipment deliveries on the contract have already begun and the equipment is now being taken into commercial use.
Malcolm Arnold, vice-president of Nokia China, said that the will help his firm`s drive to bring WAP to the booming Chinese market, following Nokia`s demonstration of Chinese language Internet browsing using a WAP-enabled mobile last November.

      hallo auge,

forming certain strategic alliances with various
companies to strengthen HRCT`s position in the

Dr. Yang believes that by forming partnerships
and, by building relationships with various

Internet infrastructure in China. According to
Dr. Yang, HRCT is in a position to become, what

18Jun2000 CHINA: 20m Net users in China by year end.
      By MARY KWANG CHINA CORRESPONDENT.
In a staggering Internet boom, Beijing will see a doubling in number of users, says its Information Minister in a briefing to ANN senior editors

BEIJING - The number of Internet users in China is set to double to 20 million between now and the end of the year, according to the country`s Information Minister, Mr Zhao Qizheng.
Mr Zhao, while briefing senior editors of the Asia News Network (ANN) on developments of the Internet in China on Friday, cited the figure to give an inkling of the country`s staggering Internet explosion.
He also said that the Chinese government encouraged major newspapers and agencies to develop Internet services, not only in Chinese but also in foreign languages such as English, German and Japanese.
He said that at present, the government did not encourage television stations to develop such services because it did not wish to see excessive competition for limited bandwidths.
""When we have wider bandwidths in a few more years, we will encourage the TV stations to do so."
Commenting on restrictions on the Internet in China, he said there were few regulations at present.
He added that China had yet to find a foreign law that was comprehensive in this aspect.
He noted that regulations were necessary to deal with such problems as irresponsible reports about the private lives of personalities, falsified news, pornography, anti-government messages as well as the leaking of state secrets.
In his briefing on media developments, he noted that the country had 2,200 newspapers, 8,000 periodicals and 3,000 television channels, but lacked experienced and good editors and journalists.
""Outstanding media organisations are rare in China because of the dispersal of talent in the field," he said.
""From this angle, the Chinese press is too free, because one can set up a news organisation without a professional background."
He said that a newspaper could survive in China as long as it achieved a daily circulation of as few as 10,000 copies.
In news selection, he said that while the Chinese press would pick up speeches made by US President Bill Clinton, they might stop short of carrying stories about the American leader`s personal life.
For instance, Chinese newspapers carried little about the Clinton-Lewinsky affair which hit the headlines overseas in 1998 and early last year.
""If we had carried it in detail, many readers would have protested," he said.
In selecting articles for publication, the Chinese press would not necessarily reject opinions attacking the country.
""But of course, my rebuttals are carried in greater detail," said the minister.
The State Council Information Office, which he heads, advises the Chinese media on how to present the country to the world and disseminates information on issues other than Chinese foreign policies, which are in the Foreign Ministry`s purview.
The ANN is a network of 10 major English-language newspapers in Asia that promotes news coverage of Asian affairs by the Asian media.
Members are The Straits Times; the Statesman of India, Jakarta Post, Philippine Daily Inquirer, Korea Herald, China Daily, Vietnam News, The Nation of Thailand, The Star and Sin Chew Jit Poh of Malaysia.

Was haltet eigentlich von OTI?

Hartcourt to Invest in China Online
Largest Private ISP in China; Hartcourt and Rayes Group Will Develop COL into a Commercial Broadband ISP in China
      ================================================================
      LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 19, 2000--The Hartcourt
      Companies Inc. (OTC:HRCT) (Frankfurt:HCT), www.hartcourt.com, today
announced that it has reached an agreement in principal to joint
venture with Shenzhen Rayes Group to provide investment and technical
support to COL (China Online, www.col.com.cn), the largest privately
      owned ISP in China.
The agreement calls for Hartcourt to support COL`s new business
strategy and implementation plans, including broadband Internet
infrastructure developments. COL currently has 105 wholly owned or
joint-ventured subsidiaries covering all major provinces and cities in
The Peoples Republic of China (China). Since its inception in 1994,
COL and these subsidiaries have developed more than 80 COL-branded
portals with localized content. At present, the ISP business of COL
      has more than 240,000 customers.
The closing of the Hartcourt`s acquisition and investment into
China Online is contingent upon the completion of three steps: (1)
COL`s to develop a new business plan satisfactory to Hartcourt`s
broadband ISP strategy in China; (2) Completion of a due diligence
process by a leading U.S. investment bank appointed by Hartcourt and
Rayes to value COL`s business; and (3) All necessary legal documents
being completed and approved by Chinese authorities and all parties.
According to People`s Post & Telecommunications, the official
newspaper of Ministry of Information Industry of China, E-commerce and
China are now converging. As of June 7, 2000, China has more than
      270,000 registered Internet domain names.
By June 5, China had 90,817 Web sites with registered ".cn" China
domain names, up 50% from 60,267 Chinese domain names recorded by May
2000. These numbers indicate the explosive growth in China`s business
Internet service market. Since 1999, COL has shifted its ISP strategy
toward mainly business Internet services, and thus the number of
individual ISP subscribers has decreased since and the business
      customer base is growing.
Dr. Alan Phan, chairman & CEO of Hartcourt, said: "Given the fact
that China is rapidly deploying its fiber-optic capacity for broadband
ISP services and other wireless applications, Hartcourt has been
aggressively developing and evaluating our business partners in China
for a timely investment and broadband Internet infrastructure
      development.
"Once the WTO is approved and implemented, we want to be sure that
Hartcourt is the first foreign company to participate directly in
China`s broadband Internet market growth. Our agreement with COL is
one option we have been evaluating, and we are excited about the
backbone infrastructure that COL provides for potential business
      growth on a nationwide scale."

About Shenzhen Rayes Group and COL (China Online)

Shenzhen Rayes Group is registered in Shenzhen, and its main
business is in developing network infrastructure and services via
China Online (COL). Since 1994, COL has deployed a large-scale ISP
network with national coverage of 105 major cities in China. COL was
approved by MII (Ministry of Information Industry, formerly Ministry
of Post and Telecommunications) in 1997 as a national ISP and related
services provider. COL and China Telecom`s 169 national ISP network
has a strategic alliance since 1998.

16Dec1999 SINGAPORE: INTERVIEW-Largest China private ISP mulls listing.
      By Chen Aizhu
SINGAPORE, Dec 16 (Reuters) - China`s largest privately owned Internet service provider (ISP) will aggressively seek global alliances and is planning an overseas listing, a senior company executive said on Thursday.
The low-profile Shenzhen-based Rayes Group Co. Ltd, China`s first and largest private ISP, sees aggressive strategic alliances with foreign content providers and portals as its key strategy for 2000, vice-president Dragon Lu told Reuters.
Started in 1995, Rayes Group has spent around 1.8 billion yuan ($216.8 million) establishing its network and is licenced to provide Internet service to 108 Chinese cities.
The group found that as a provider of communication services such as fax and voicemail and as a content provider through digital networks rented from the government-backed China Telecom , its revenues could barely cover costs, Lu said.
"We have around 600,000 subscribers, almost 15 percent of China`s total. But the number of paying subscribers is much smaller... We need more globally-oriented contents."
Lu declined to give the number of paying subscribers.
"Globalisation would boost our investors` confidence," Lu said on the sidelines of a signing ceremony with Singapore-based vLifestyle.com, an Internet portal using voicemail technology to deliver multi-lingual information from the Web to phones.
      NASDAQ LISTING?
The Rayes Group was also actively preparing for a listing in Hong Kong or the U.S. technology market Nasdaq, Lu said.
"In the past few years we were concentrating on building our infrastructures. Now we are at a stage where we can consider a public listing within six months," he said.
The issue size, which was still under evaluation, would probably top $1 billion, Lu said.
Lu, a computer engineer from Taiwan, sees his company as a choice partner for China`s existing Internet content providers (ICPs) and new entrants to the Chinese market.
"We are a pioneer. New players can`t possibly rent all the networks throughout China. We are here ready with an extensive marketing channel," Lu said.
China`s fledgling Internet sector is predominantly run by China Telecom, with foreign investment officially forbidden.
Leading portal sites like Sina.com and Sohu.com rely almost solely on foreign capital or were seeking foreign listing.
The landmark World Trade Organisation (WTO) deal signed in November between China and the U.S. raised hopes China would allow foreign Internet companies to take up to 49-percent stakes in its Internet firms upon joining the WTO, expected in 2000.
But a top government official said in Beijing on Monday that China planned to impose strict regulations on foreign Internet companies, including a cap on ownership and a licencing regime.
Lu said the Rayes Group filed applications for its service licence in 1994 and won a full licence in 1997.
"At that time, ISP was a brand new concept to China. The government knew little about it so they were not against it...With convincing proposals, we were picked as an experiment," said Lu, who joined Rayes Group in 1995 as chief engineer.
He said financing came from private shareholding and loans from state banks such as China Agricultural Bank.
"Banks and private investors supported us because they think we are a potential big earner. It is high time that we prove that we are up to their expectations," said Lu.
He expected his company to break even in two years with revenues derived largely from information and net advertising, with a longer-term focus on electronic transactions.
      ($ = 8.3 yuan).

      Danke Hollin,

      hatte es tatsächlich vergessen.

By the way: vielleicht nix neues aber immer wieder nett diese Zahlen zu lesen. Gearde aus dem RB-Board kopiert.

(16 June 2000) China’s stock exchanges set a record on June 13 when their overall number of investor accounts exceeded the 50 million mark.

On that date, the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange had 25,636,200 and 24,836,500 investor accounts, respectively, the June 14 Shanghai Zhengquan Bao (Shanghai Securities News) reported.

These 50,472,700 investment accounts included a total of 5.6 million new accounts opened on the two stock exchanges this year. China’s rapid increase in account holders is demonstrated by the fact that in past years, it took more than a year for 5.6 million new accounts to be opened.

China’s securities sector currently consists of 986 listed companies and 1,067 stocks. The sector’s total market value exceeds 4.03 trillion renminbi (US$485.92 billion), which was almost 24 percent of the country’s gross domestic product in 1999, the newspaper noted.
