was macht denn mp3.com ??

Freddy

SAN DIEGO, June 20 /PRNewswire/ -- MP3.com, Inc. (Nasdaq: MPPP), the Internet`s premier Music Service Provider (MSP), will unveil its new MSP Platform 1.0 at today`s MP3 Summit 2000, in San Diego. The Platform will allow the company`s MSP Partners to generate increased revenues by offering customers a suite of personalized music content and services.

Buy: 1
Buy Hold: 2
Hold: 1
Weak Hold: 0
Sell: 0
Quelle:
http://link.multexinvestor.com/TickerSearch.asp?ticker=MPPP&…
Strong Buy: 0
Moderate Buy: 4
Hold: 2
Moderate Sell: 0
Strong Sell: 0
Quelle:
http://biz.yahoo.com/z/a/m/mppp.html
http://www.redmailorder.com/boerse/mag515.htm

MP3 kurbelt CD-Verkäufe an

Did MP3.com Sellout?
On Trial
June 20, 2000
by Ali Asadullah
Editor`s Note: This is the first of UpsideToday`s new On Trial
column. Every Monday, Ali Asadullah will put someone new
on the stand for various crimes related to tech business. Then
it`s up to you, the reader, to debate the case on our
discussion boards. On Friday, Judge Asadullah will issue his
verdict, and, of course, the proper punishment.
Michael Robertson, you and the
company you head, MP3.com
(MPPP), are accused of
infractions related to the spirit of
the downloadable digital content
industry. While these
transgressions do not constitute
legal malfeasance, they do call into
question your loyalty to the
movement against recording
industry tyranny. For while the
masses and their proxies -- Napster, Gnutella, Freenet,
Radiate, etc. -- walk the streets alone, you have run and found
yourself a few very high-priced pimps.
Having shown your true colors by settling for a licensing deal with
the "Big Five" record companies (Warner (TWX), BMG,
Universal, EMI and Sony) (SNE) that, according to CNET`s
News.com, will cost you in the ballpark of $75 million each year,
you have, in effect, worked to stymie a groundswell of support for
technology and distribution paradigms that would finally bring
equity to creators of content. And if you bothered to read
Courtney Love`s recent rant on Salon.com (SALN), then you
would know what I mean.
Additionally, there is reason to question your strategy for revenue
generation in the industry. Your recent statements at the
Streaming Media East 2000 conference in critique of pay-per-play
schemes by your competition, at first glance, seemed
well-founded. But your substitute scheme of relying on a yearly
subscription plan fails to address the cries from the usership for
free content. This simply will not do.
Therefore you are to be judged by the UpsideToday jury.
Members of the jury, you are instructed to be as partisan,
self-serving and opinionated as you wanna be; cause that`s how
true consumers act. How says ye?

Hi Freddy30!!
Immer ruhig Blut.

MP3.com Says `Thanks A Million` to Digital Artists
With Payback For Playback Program
Groundbreaking Royalty Program Could Distribute Millions of Dollars To Online Artists
SAN DIEGO, June 21 /PRNewswire/ -- MP3.com (Nasdaq: MPPP - news), the Internet`s premier Music Service
Provider (MSP), today announced compensation figures to illustrate the success of its innovative Payback for Playback
program (www.mp3.com/payback/). MP3.com made available $1,000,000 in the month of May alone to digital artists
who post music on its site and announced that the $1,000,000 Payback for Playback program will be extended through
June and July.
``The Payback for Playback program serves as the cornerstone of our revolutionary royalty tracking technology,``
commented Michael Robertson, chairman and chief executive officer of MP3.com (www.mp3.com). ``We are
dedicated to growing the digital music space by creating a revenue-generating online infrastructure that will drive the new
music economy. Projecting the band`s compensation in May to continue over the course of a year, a digital artist like
303Infinity could generate approximately $275,000 profit annually. That`s an incredible figure that validates the
commercial viability of an advertising-based revenue model for music.``
The top earning Payback for Playback artist in the month of May was 303Infinity. Mikel Fair, the founder of 303Infinity
(www.mp3.com/303Infinity), earned $23,786.81 through the program. Fair has maximized his earning potential using
MP3.com, its extensive promotional tools and the Payback for Playback program.
``Payback for Playback empowered me to reinvest in my music, which is the greatest dream an artist can ask for,`` Fair
commented. ``I`ve held the number one spot with two different songs in my MP3.com career, made over $40,000 in
royalties, and I`ve sold CDs in every state in the United States and all over the world. I have a complete home studio, a
monthly advertising budget, a business plan, and thanks to MP3.com, 303Infinity is now my full-time job.``
Employing an advertising-based revenue model similar to network television, the Payback for Playback program utilizes
a portion of advertising dollars raised on MP3.com to pay content owners for their music. The program is designed to
compensate the more than 74,000 digital artists who post music on MP3.com, based on the popularity of their music. In
the month of May, the top ten Payback for Playback earners at MP3.com combined to receive over $135,000.
Encompassing a wide range of styles, the May top ten includes artists from Electronic, Easy Listening, Comedy, Hip
Hop and Latin genres.
MP3.com launched the Payback for Playback promotion in November 1999. To join the MP3.com artist community
and become eligible for Payback for Playback, an act must make at least one song, in its entirety, available on MP3.com
for free streaming or downloading. The site does not charge any fees to artists for membership, and currently more than
74,000 artists have more than 469,000 songs available through the site. Musicians interested in becoming eligible for the
Payback for Playback program can register to post music on MP3.com at www.mp3.com/newartist.

HI MP3er,

SAN MATEO, Calif. (CBS.MW) -- Napster is in talks with the record
industry to settle lawsuits that could force the Internet music-sharing site to
shut down, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday.
The report of Napster talks comes shortly after another popular music site
MP3.com (MPPP: news, msgs) reached an out-of-court settlement with
two big record companies.
In Napster’s case, the record industry is seeking money to compensate
for what it believes is music piracy that Napster has allowed users to
engage in. The Wall Street Journal describes the talks between Napster
and the record industry as “informal and exploratory.”
The Record Industry Association of America has filed suits against
privately held Napster that could force the site to shut down. The next
hearing the case is scheduled for July 26.

http://www.upside.com/Story/394eb47d0_yahoo.html

MP3.com Joins Forces With CafePress.com to Offer Virtual Merchandising Solutionsto Digital Artists Artists Promote Their Work and Profit From Merchandise SalesWith No Up-Front Costs
Mon Jun 26 06:30:00 EDT 2000
SAN DIEGO and HAYWARD, Calif., Jun 26, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ --
MP3.com, Inc. (Nasdaq: MPPP), the Internet`s premier Music Service Provider
(MSP), and CafePress.com, a free online service for designing and selling custom
merchandise, have formed a strategic alliance that will provide virtual
merchandising services to digital artists found at MP3.com. The announcement
benefits digital artists because it provides them additional revenue and
promotional opportunities.
This agreement allows digital artists who post their music on MP3.com
(www.mp3.com) to design and sell their own products such as T-shirts on the
MP3.com Web site with no up-front costs, inventory, or production concerns. To
use the service, artists simply upload their artwork, design the products they
wish to sell, and receive a private online store to sell their products. When
orders are made, CafePress.com manages product manufacturing, fulfillment and
customer service issues. Artists retain complete control over product designs,
prices, and profit margins. To take a virtual tour of the Merchandise Shops,
visit http://mp3.cafepress.com.
"Our partnership with Cafe Press furthers MP3.com`s commitment to providing
digital artists with marketing tools that will allow them to succeed in the
digital marketplace," said Michael Robertson, chairman and chief executive
officer of MP3.com. "As a Music Service Provider, we are building an
infrastructure that will support the creation of a new music community.
Empowering digital artists through revenue, marketing and promotional
opportunities is an important part of that vision."
As part of the agreement, MP3.com will promote "MP3.com Merchandise Stores"
through its web site, allowing artists and fan club organizations to design
their own merchandise for fans to purchase.
"My band has been able to sell merchandise across the country right from our
website without spending a dime," said Lonnie Lyver of the band ArmaGetItOn.
"There are none of the usual hassles associated with merchandizing. No
out-of-pocket fees, no back stock and no minimums! You can even order from your
own store so you can have merchandise to sell at shows. We ordered 100 shirts
and the turn around time was less than a week! I can`t think of a reason not to
join CafePress.com."
"We are excited to be working with MP3.com," said Fred Durham, President of
CafePress.com. "The combination of MP3.com`s virtual music distribution and
CafePress.com`s virtual merchandising solutions is a natural fit and further
empowers independent artists with the ability to control and promote their work
and build name recognition."

Je 1000 klicke bekommt MP3.com etwa 30 US$. (naja so 10 klicks dürten genügen)
Gruss: RazzFazz

Hallo Razz FAzz

Nabend,
einigermaßen normale Diskussionen über mp3.com hier. Mal was erfreuliches.

ich wünsch euch was!

Hallo an alle mp3 Fans,
Jetzt aber die _News :MP3.com and Quickdot Partner to Bring Digital Music to the Net Generation

UPDATE 1-AOL inks security pact with InterTrust
Reuters Company News - June 27, 2000 15:34
(Adds companies`, analysts` comments, byline; updates share price; pvs DULLES, Va.)
By Derek Caney
NEW YORK, June 27 (Reuters) - No. 1 Internet services provider America Online Inc. said on Tuesday it plans to use InterTrust Technologies Corp.`s software to allow music and video to be securely downloaded from the Internet.
The companies hope their deal is the next step toward selling digital music, video and text files over the Internet, while protecting copyrighted material from piracy.
AOL said its first use for the security software will be for its Winamp digital music player for downloading music files, which will now be compatible with music files that are encoded using InterTrust technology.
As the distribution of music and other media files over the Internet gains wide acceptance, the ability to control piracy is a key concern among many media companies.
The concern is epitomised by the record industry`s battles with several Internet companies, such as Napster Inc. and MP3.com Inc , accusing them of infringing copyright law.
The increasing popularity of the MP3 format, which converts music into small digital files that are easy to store and copy, has given rise to companies like InterTrust, which specialise in "digital rights management" (DRM), or software that can apply customised forms of security to media files.
"With this deal, InterTrust emerges as a market leader in the DRM space," said Todd Raker, an analyst with Credit Suisse First Boston, one of the underwriters for an initial public offering in October. "It also validates its position when it tries to negotiate deals with other companies."
The deal is AOL`s first partnership with a digital rights management company. It comes at a pivotal time, as AOL is poised to merge with Time Warner Inc. , whose Warner Music Group has a huge catalogue of music. Warner Music is also slated to merge with EMI Group Plc .
Neither Time Warner nor AOL have unveiled the strategy for their music assets after the merger, although Time Warner has said it plans to start offering songs for download in the second half of the year.
Asked if InterTrust fits into the combined company`s longer-term music strategy, an AOL spokeswoman said, "It would be premature to say that. But this deal is one step toward commercializing digital downloading of music."
While CSFB`s Raker sees potential for the DRM market, he acknowledges it is growing slower than he expected. "The music industry is about six to nine months behind where we expected when we did InterTrust`s IPO," he said.
Raker Tuesday lowered his 2000 estimate for InterTrust revenues to $10.2 million from $12.5 million and cut his 2001 estimate to $40 million from $60 million.
InterTrust shares declined 2-5/8 to 22-1/8 on Nasdaq. Its shares reached a record intraday high of 99-3/4 in February and hit a low of 14-1/8 a month ago. AOL gained one to 52-3/4 on the New York Stock Exchange.
Analysts said InterTrust`s weakness was also due to the expiration next week of a lockup agreement that prevents certain shareholders from selling their stock.
The company already provides DRM technology to Seagram Co. Ltd.`s Universal Music Group and BMG, the music arm of Bertelsmann AG .
"The market is already expanding into the publishing world," said Talal Shamoon, InterTrust senior vice president or media. "And we`re already seeing the first snowflakes of DRM in video, which is eventually going to become a blizzard

Hallo MP3.com-friends!
Sollte man jezt Gewinne mitnehmen?
Gruss: RazzFazz

MP3.com`s Little Box Opens Global Retail Music Market; Technology Offers Savings to Businesses Playing Music
http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/000628/ca_mp3_com.html

BMG CEO Addresses Digital Music
http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/ap/20000629/tc/digital_music_1.…
BMG CEO Strauss Zelnick schießt wieder Giftpfeile gegen MP3.com.

http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/ap/20000629/tc/digital_music_1.…
BMG CEO Strauss Zelnick schießt wieder Giftpfeile gegen MP3.com.

Hi

Quelle: http://www.tecchannel.de/news/20000703/thema20000703-1880.h…
Der Marktführer bei CD-Brennern,
Hewlett-Packard, hat mit dem Anbieter von legaler
MP3-Musik, EMusic.com, einen
Kooperationsvertrag geschlossen. Demnach dürfen
HP-Kunden, die einen CD-Recorder kaufen,
demnächst MP3-Dateien im Wert von insgesamt 3
Millionen Dollar herunterladen.
spezialisiert. Von angesagten Rockbands (Bush,
Green Day) über Jazz- und Blues-Klassiker (Duke
Ellington, B.B. King) bis zur Weltmusik reicht das
Spektrum.
Dollar kaufen.

RIAA: http://www.riaa.com/
Sony Music: http://www.sonymusic.com/
Warner Brother´s Music http://www.warner.com/pages/music/index.jsp?fromtout=home_me…
BMG: http://www.bmg.com/
EMI: http://www.emicmg.com/
Universal music: http://www.universalmusic.com/
Net woes hit music industry
http://cbs.marketwatch.com/archive/20000704/news/current/net…
Wer will soetwas schon für 7,--DM kaufen???

`Best of MP3.com` to Air on Cox Radio Stations; Digital Artists` Music Will be Exposed to 4.3 Million Listeners
http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/000705/ca_mp3_com.html

MP3.com Agreement With AdAce Could Mean Banner Days for Content Owners
http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/000706/ca_mppp_ad.html

Labels and Digital Artists Such as Ernesto Cortazar Use
Payback for Playback Program and Online CD Sales to Generate Revenue
SAN DIEGO, July 10 /PRNewswire/ -- MP3.com, Inc. (Nasdaq: MPPP) today announced that digital artists from all over the world continue to use the company`s sales and marketing tools to generate revenue in a variety of ways. Exemplifying that success is Ernesto Cortazar, a digital artist who recently surpassed $100,000 in total earnings in less than a year by utilizing the company`s Payback for Playback and DAM CD programs.
"Ernesto is just one of the many digital artists who have achieved success by taking advantage of the revenue opportunities offered on the Internet," commented Michael Robertson, chairman and chief executive officer of MP3.com. "We are pleased that digital artists are able to thrive financially by leveraging the myriad marketing services we offer, and we intend to continue to offer tools designed to help them achieve this success."
Cortazar, a Mexican-born easy-listening pianist, has leveraged the promotional and marketing tools offered by MP3.com (www.mp3.com) to earn revenue. Reaching fans in countries all over the world, Cortazar has generated significant revenue via MP3.com`s Payback for Playback Program, which distributes money to digital artists based on the popularity of their music.
Achieving the figure of 3,000,000 downloads since first posting music on the site, Cortazar has consistently ranked among the top monthly earners in Payback for Playback, earning over $65,000 total since the inception of the program. Additionally, Cortazar has seen a phenomenal response to the 15 CDs he has posted for sale through his MP3.com site (www.mp3.com/ernestocortazar).
"I remember when I first heard that MP3.com had created a new way to pay independent artists called Payback for Playback in November of 1999," Cortazar said. "I thought the program would be the first step in a new era, but I never imagined that eight months later I would be living such a dream. I want to thank MP3.com for giving artists the opportunity to dream of a better future in our lives and music careers."
MP3.com launched the Payback for Playback promotion in November 1999. To join the MP3.com artist community and become eligible for Payback for Playback, an artist must make at least one song, in its entirety, available on MP3.com for free streaming or downloading. The site does not charge any fees to artists for membership, and currently more than 74,000 artists have more than 469,000 songs and audio files available through the site. Musicians interested in becoming eligible for the Payback for Playback program can register to post music on MP3.com at www.mp3.com/newartist.

@Loserin

Senate Committee

Hart Senate Office Building, Room 216
- 07/11/2000 - 1:30 -
Hatch, Orrin, U.S. Senator, R-UT

Barry, Hank, Chief Executive Officer, Napster

Hallo Razz Fazz,

Doch , doch ,das interesiert mich wohl was Ihr da schreibt.

@kunokuhn
Viel Glück kunokuhn fallst Du in Women.com investiert bist.
