Hat jemand Infos warum SCM plötzlich so heftig verliert?
Verkaufen da Fonds?
Gibt es Gerüchte?

@hans2000
Großinvestoren und Fonds verursachen die Kurseinbrüche (logisch, ich weiß);

Good trades ;-)

WARUM??????
Schaut Euch die Adhoc an...
SCM Microsystems, Inc.,(Nasdaq: SCMM, Neuer Markt: SMY), a
leading provider of solutions that open the Digital World, announced
today that it has completed the acquisition of Microtech
International, an industry-leading provider of digital photography
solutions for the consumer and business markets. SCM is paying
approximately $20 million to purchase Microtech, in equal portions of
cash and stock, which includes performance related payments of up to
$5 million.
SCM also announced its outlook for financial results for ist
second quarter. The Company expects to report net revenues of $29
million to $31 million in the quarter, an increase of 10% to 17%
compared with net revenues of $26.4 million in the second quarter of
1999. Including one-time items, SCM expects to report net income of
$1.1 million to $1.7 million, or $0.07 to $0.11 per share for the
second quarter. This compares with a net loss of ($3.3) million, or
($0.23) per share for the second quarter of 1999. SCMs revenues and
gross margin in the second quarter are expected to be impacted by
lower than expected sales of SCM digital media readers, which are
bundled with MP3 Internet music players, as well as by lower than
expected shipments of SCM readers for PC security. The Company
expects to announce final results for the quarter on July 20, 2000.
SCMs sales are tied to four primary markets, which are experiencing
differing levels of strength. In the digital TV and broadband access
markets, demand for removable conditional access solutions is gaining
momentum and demand for SCM products continues to grow. Within the
digital media transfer market, demand for readers bundled with MP3
players has slowed due to a number of factors, including the high
price of flash media relative to MP3 players and CD-ROMs, the music
publishing industrys legal challenges to the distribution of music
over the Internet, and a continuing shortage of MultiMediaCard flash
storage media used in MP3 players. At the same time, demand for SCMs
readers for digital photography applications has remained strong. In
the PC Security market, credit card companies, financial institutions
and other organizations have begun to embrace smart cards, but have
been slow in developing applications that utilize the functionality
of the smart card chip. This has resulted in delays in deploying
smart card-based services which require readers. Commenting on the
results for the quarter, SCM Chief Executive Officer Robert Schneider
said, "As a key enabler in early stage markets, we are sometimes
affected by the volatility of those markets. Once again, our balanced
business model has allowed us to shift our emphasis to stronger
segments. We believe the strength of our digital TV and broadband
access business, coupled with our acquisition of Microtech, will
allow us to maintain our growth momentum. We are confident that the
demand for digital media readers and smart card readers will grow
significantly over time, and that SCM is very well positioned to
benefit from this growth as it occurs. We believe our acquisition of
Microtech will help us to broaden our market opportunities for
digital media transfer solutions as well as strengthen our coverage
of the digital photography segment." "Microtech is pleased to be
joining the SCM team," said Brian Campbell, President of Microtech.
"The complementary focus of our two companies expands the
opportunities to address the need for access to digital content. We
are excited to combine our strengths to leverage these opportunities
worldwide as we expand our presence into Europe and continue our
focus in the U.S. and in Japan, which are the worlds largest markets
for digital photography solutions." SCM Chairman Steve Humphreys
added, "We have worked closely with Microtech and its talented
management team for several years, and are delighted they are joining
SCM. Microtech has earned a strong reputation in the channel and will
deepen our sales capabilities while broadening our market coverage.
With Microtech, we can address through the channel new worldwide
markets such as broadband access and PC security."

Abwarten - Tee trinken...
