Sehr gute Idee.
A Name - A Dorf, B Name - B Dorf)
Beispiel ?!

Haaallloooo erstmal.

Also, nicht Bange machen lassen.

Also, nicht Bange machen lassen.

Simon Zhang`s Interfax interview -
Interfax talks with Beijing UAC Stock Exchange Online Co., Ltd. CEO Simon Zhang about how UAC`s platform enables China`s first real-time, online stock trades by individuals. UAC works around CSRC`s ban on Internet (IP) trading by extending stock trading service to individuals through a platform linking users to China Telecom`s secure stock trading Intranet. UAC partners with China Telecom in a unique revenue model for the sector: Intranet use fees.
[IF] How does your trading platform work?
[SZ] UAC specializes in building trading platforms for the financial services area, particularly stock trading. Online trading, however, is not yet happening in China. The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CRSC) is concerned with the safety of IP protocol. Clients can access information on stocks through the Internet, but trades can only be made in person or by telephone. As a result, securities firms are forced to staff hundreds of phone lines. The system is highly inefficient.
The UAC platform interfaces with a packet switching data network known as ChinaPAC, based on the X.25 protocol. The network, owned and run by China Telecom and similar to an EDI, is a fast and secure Intranet that can easily connect all of China`s brokerage firms to the stock exchanges for online trading.
UAC has received the necessary MII license to provide an interface that enables individual customers to access their brokers through the Intranet to make online, real-time trades. UAC is the first and only national wide agent for China Telecom to market access to this Intranet trading service – customers access the Intranet by dialing 162.
After installing the SinoBull software (a platform developed by UAC that interfaces with the 162 Intranet), clients use the platform to register with their respective brokers. Each time clients access the 162 network, they are automatically connected to their broker, log on, and begin to make trades. The service is available in all of China`s major cities.
Under this closed system, securities firms do not have to worry about security. Trading using PCs, PDAs, and set top boxes is already being well received by SinoBull clients. Wireless data network (CDPD) access was just announced. WAP wireless access will soon be possible. In addition, major commodity trading centers in Zhengzhou and Dalien are connected to the 162 Intranet as well. Commodity traders are also able to use the UAC Intranet trading platform.
[IF] What kinds of revenue streams are available to non-securities firms in the online stock-trading sector?
[SZ] It`s highly unlikely that any of China`s securities firms will partner with Internet companies to handle online stock trades in exchange for a percent of their trade commissions. China`s securities firms hold a monopoly on trading commissions and have no need to give ground there.
Instead of sharing revenues with the securities firms, UAC and our parent group SinoBull partner with China Telecom to take a percentage of the RMB 0.5 (USD .06) per minute telephone fare charged to those using the 162 Intranet service.
We have first-mover status in this area. UAC has already secured the cooperation of 10 brokerages that pay a minimal monthly fee to UAC for the service. As the system catches on, more users will grow familiar with the SinoBull brand and SinoBull software, and we expect our revenue stream - through increased 162 access - to increase exponentially.
[IF] Tell me about your background and how you got started with UAC.
[SZ] I attended the Beijing University of Post and Telecommunications, the top university in China for IT communications. After graduation, I worked for the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, which is now MII. After a brief stint working for Alcatel, I opened my own company in 1993: Sunnywell Communications. Sunnywell specialized in telephone applications, and was an early leader in introducing US-style voice mail systems into China. In 1998, after finishing an MBA at Tsinghua University, I opened UAC.
At the time, I was very familiar with networks in China, and could see that IP stock trading in China was still a long way away for security reasons. Unlike US brokers, Chinese brokers don`t hold large amounts of capital to trade on the markets; they only represent the stock exchange to the public. Chinese securities companies lack the necessary capital to establish IP safeguards for online trading sites like Schwab in the US. I could see that brokerages were wasting a lot of money trying to handle trades over the telephone, and so, in 1998 with a staff of three, I founded UAC to develop a 162 Intranet interface. We now have over 20 staff.
[IF] How did you decide to join the Hartcourt Companies` SinoBull Group?
[SZ] Early last year we were considering an IPO of our own, but we knew we needed strategic partners, particularly in marketing and information service provision. We entered a joint-venture agreement with Hartcourt in June 1999. Together with The Hartcourt Companies (OTC: BB-HRCT) other invested partners, we formed the Sinobull financial group of five companies, each adding necessary strengths. Now that the corporate reorganization is complete, Hartcourt owns 48% of the SinoBull group, with the remaining percentage held by the 5 companies in the group. The SinoBull website (www.sinobull.com.cn) celebrates its official launch on July 6 in Beijing. SinoBull is tentatively planning an IPO for the end of this year.

Liebe HartcourtlerInnen,

E-Mail Reply from HRCT on Launch.
Hello Al,
Additional details will be provided about the SinoBull.com opening ceremony at the
press conference and your suggestion of a recap will be passed on to Dr. Phan.
Suffice to say, the event held at the Shangri-La Hotel on July 6th. We`ve rented a large
facility for the event. A TV personality is to host the event, with demonstration models on
site to illustrate online stock trading via the wireless "Pocket 162", set top box "Stock
Easy", PDA`s (HP Jornada and Palm OS, Windows CE client), PC, Laptop, and
possibly early stage mobile phone. A nice presentation will be made and speechs from
various guests. Invited attendees include members of government ministry and
committees, strategic partners of SinoBull and Hartcourt, members of China`s telecom
industry, several members of China`s securities and banking industry, members of
China`s emerging internet industry, special guests and naturally a host of Beijing and
national print and TV media.
I hope that provides a better idea of the ceremony.
Thank you for your interest in The Hartcourt Companies.

Ich habe mal eine böde Frage.
Unter Yahoo steht folgendes:
Shares Outstanding 30.1 M

etwa zehn Prozent steigen (bisherige Prognose: acht Prozent).

Hi Investorman. How was the vacation to Las Vegas? Have a good time?
As to your question, Dr. Phan may be heading to China this coming week. It`s dependant if his presence is needed for certain business negotiations or not.
Odd, I just noticed the time stamp must be Central Standard Time, and not the usual EST or PST.

AOL MoneyTalk Interview
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The AOL MoneyTalk Interview will be hosted by the AOL crew for the MoneyTalk. To my understanding, during a portion of the Interview, will be a live question and answer period by people submitting questions. Jack Westfield will be at the Interview. Possibly if Dr. Charlie Yang is available, he will participate too. But current schedules has Dr. Yang going to China during that time.

Will Dr. Phan be at the SinoBull ceremony?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dr. Phan will most likely be at the SinoBull ceremony on July 6th. But generally he doesn`t like to stay too long in China since there are many items that need his attention in the US as well. So ideally he would like to travel the week of July 6th, but certain negotiations may need his presence in the coming week.

Unfortunately, I have not interacted with a Mr. Kwok, so my knowledge on the subject is very little. I would assume such interaction would have been in Hong Kong. Naturally, even if I knew it would be difficult to elaborate on Mr. Kwok`s roll with Hartcourt. But from my understanding, Mr. Kwok and Dr. Phan are old friends. Actually, Dr. Phan has quite a few old friends, or at least he knows a lot people in Hong Kong and China. Of course that does not mean since Dr. Phan knows people that they would be involved with Hartcourt. Dr. Phan looks for a win-win situation, where it`s a winning situation for both parties. A good philosophy for long term business relationships.

Re: China Unicom`s use of Nokia handsets
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Bian, I`m not familar with the details of Unicom`s deal with Nokia, besides what I`ve read from the news articles. Since Nokia leaves a lot of language and special feature development to region distributors and developers like SIFTT, this is a possible situation unless Nokia or Unicom has their own development team that would handle the situation.
Since it would be a waste of effort for Nokia to develop Chinese stock market services and find a wireless distributor for the information source, it is likely Nokia would send the contract out to SIFTT to fill Unicom`s needs. As long as the right hand talks to the left hand, SIFTT (Nokia`s main developer and distributor for Eastern China) should use the SinoBull services in the Nokia Platform. This will be nice for added revenues, but unfortunately, the name recognition may not be there (I don`t know the wording of the contract is if we can also advertise our name on the stock service, ie. SinoBull Stock News ...)
Wireless Stock Trading won`t commence until China Telecom finishes building their CA (Certificat Agent) center, a method designated by China as the security method for Wireless transactions. Completion is expected (realistically) by December. It could be earlier if China Telecom is on schedule :-)

Anyone having problems with this interface. I understand it is different than RagingBull`s but it also has some nice features that RagingBull doesn`t.
And as people get used to using it, it`ll be more easy to seperate threaded conversations into groups for logical sequence as well. This interface is designed after the more common newsgroup breakdown.

Hi Seeyouatthetop,
I think you`re probably doing everything okay, but I`m jumping around back to the original post to start a new sub-thread when there is a different subject topic. Otherwise the normal posting all under one thread gets the subject titles heading far out to the right. Just trying to be organized :-)
Unfortunately, even though this software says its self "refreshing" at times I notice some posts aren`t readily seen unless I hit refresh.
Part of the reason, I am posting here tonight is to get people gradually used to this interface. This will eventually be the place where I and other Hartcourt company members would post.

Hi DaddyCool, the low volume is surprising, but in some ways is good, since the day traders seem to have left for the time being. In general, we`ve heard from many shareholders they "long" and don`t plan to sell in the near future, so that again, represents a body of people holding shares not making transactions.
In time, we foresee the stock price and volume moving upward, accordingly with to reflect our business operations, revenues, earnings, and opportunites.

Re: TV coverage in the US for SinoBull
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi DaddyCool, unfortunately it`s not our choice if the US networks pick up the newsfeed from China. In Beijing there will be reporters and I would imagine camera crews to film the event to the rest of China. The question is if CNBC on their internation segment finds this interesting enough for their programming. It`s mostly ceremonial. Also realize, this will all be promoted as a SinoBull event (not specifically Hartcourt), and also SinoBull`s name (although it will be written in English and Chinese) might get reported back in the States in Chinese if they use the direct feed, with no commentary.

Re: US ad campaign
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The US ad campaign will depend on the strategy chosen by the lead underwriter for SinoBull. Our budgets are limited until the SinoBull IPO brings in new funds. We can always sell additional stock, but that is at best 80% of face value, so not the best situation for the company. We will conserve our funds and follow the advice of the underwriters. I suspect much of our advertising budget will go the Road Show for SinoBull which is for the Institutional market, and purchase of ad space in those type of publications.

Hi Lucky5ive. Glad to see you on board now :-)
As for the level of involvement, compensation for, and said "introducer" roles, unfortunately I don`t have the knowledge of these details, as that is generally business conducted in Hong Kong with members of Financial Telecom and Hartcourt priciples in Hong Kong, besides Dr. Phan. Also, I`ll ask, but I suspect this very detailed information and the present and future roles of various entities may not want to be discussed openly by Hartcourt. Many people in Hong Kong are involved with many companies in one form or another. As mentioned in the earlier post that Dr. Phan knows many people, some of those people also have ties to competing elements.

Re: Profits
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In general, all of our individual business operations are profitable, but overall Hartcourt absorbs our costs leading up to the IPO, NASDAQ listing costs, travel, legal, FRB, BDO, etc costs. For the SinoBull Charity Night Hartcourt will spend in the millions of RMB, but it also places SinoBull`s name among the elite (ie. who else could hold such a top notch Charity event, with the pinnacle of Chinese entertainment - the national troop). Also those in attendance with be Beijing`s elite in politicians and social standing.
As to whether we will be profitable next quarter, CFO Manu Ohri would know best, but off the top of my head, I don`t think so, since we are also spending resources pending acquisitions, one which will be very significant (although outwardly it may not appear so). But essentially, we aim to solidify our position as #1 in China`s financial news information and be the authoratative source for years to come.
Once the IPO costs are all paid, I would anticipate then we will be profitable. But we do have an aim to be profitable before the IPO, since that will look much better on the Road Show.

Re: Underwriters by July 6th
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi SilverTop, actually while there is a chance one of the underwriters might be signed by that time, I really don`t expect it. Actually, I would anticipate all of the underwriters would be signed after the SinoBull ceremony on July 6th.
As to how it affects SinoBull`s ceremony, actually it doesn`t at all. The ceremony is for our customer base, the Chinese people, and to them the names of Underwriters mean as much as Hua Xia Securities, Guosen Securities and Xiangcai Securities probably did you before hearing their relationship with Hartcourt :-) So an underwriter name would have no effect on the ceremony, and to be honest, I would think we may not have mentioned the underwriter`s name if the lead were signed, since the crowd will have many government officials and press there. Mention of US support or backing is not the way to look good in the eyes of the Chinese government. In the Chinese culture, you have to remember to stroke the ego of China. The Chinese word for China itself means "Central Country", similar in thought to the Greeks` thought that the earth was the center of the universe :-)

Re: eSat
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Xcec22, the original agreement ESat and Hartcourt had, is no longer favorable for Hartcourt. It was for a stock swap for every 1 HRCT share, 2 ASAT shares. With the price differential, that is no longer an equitable solution. In terms of investing in eSAT, the possibility does exist, but it depends on if Hartcourt will use eSat as an ISP solution for COL and Innostar JV. That is still under investigation by Dr. Yang and our people in China.

Re: Thank you!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you Daddy Cool! One thing about Hartcourt, while money is an important factor, one thing I can say from my observations is that the company is full of builders. We all are very enamoured with building something of great significance, and improving the existing quality of services for the people of China.
As for a regular time, since the demands of Hartcourt`s business is very fluid, it`ll be difficult to schedule a fixed time each week. I would like to schedule a time for everyone perhaps a 2-3 days in advance to give everyone enough notice.
Dr. Phan would also like to get scheduled to appear on the board as well. In the future, we will try to find time for the other execs to come on board as well. But it`s an evolving plan, and naturally, business will always come first, ie. if a call from Hong Kong comes in, etc. :-)
Thanks again, I`ll copy and paste your sentiments to Dr. Phan ;-)

Re: RagingBull
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Lucky5ive, yes I saw the list, it was emailed to me. It is definitely very good to see the support and sense of community among the shareholders. Our intention with the addition of this board is to have a place where those of the Hartcourt community can post their thoughts in a fairly basher free environment. Naturally, a basher can sign on and start posting, but as soon as it is brought to our attention, we can start analyze the logs, ban IP addresses, and initiate tracing the source. Many people have emailed us about the hostility and unfriendly environment that the bashers create. So we wanted to create an environment the community could use to talk freely. Naturally some will choose RagingBull, AOL, SI or Yahoo instead, but I will try and post most frequently to HartcourtFoundation.com, but notify people on RagingBull that I am on the Foundation board.
Also to avoid language conflicts or provide for special interest discussions, we can create specialicized boards upon request. As you`ll notice we have a German and a Chinese board already.

Dr. Phan will most likely be at the SinoBull ceremony on July 6th. But generally he doesn`t like to stay too long in China since there are many items that need his attention in the US as well. So ideally he would like to travel the week of July 6th, but certain negotiations may need his presence in the coming week.

Re: The Girl of Dr. Phan`s dreams :-)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As to Dr. Phan`s dating life, as I understand it, there is a girl that he has been seeing lately. There was even talk of her going to China for a short time, but in general I don`t inquire about his private life. I don`t want to encourage him about spending time away from Hartcourt :-)

Thank you all!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you all for you kind sentiments. We at Hartcourt openly admit we do things a bit different than much of corporate America. At the same time, we hope that difference is also for the better.
I think I`m going to sign off, I have some emails I have to finish writing before it gets too late in the day in China.

sstocktrader,

an alle,

Hi RamonAllones.

HARTCOURT Artical on OTC News, By Jack Burney:
Has anybody seen the new article by Jack Burney released 6-30-00 by the OTC Network? This
is a follow up to the artical I found last week on OTC Network. Go To URL below:
http://www.otcnn.com/articles.html?id=962395080
Looks like the article is talking about the secret that HARTCOURT has in dealing with the PRC.
From the Investor in Virginia.
Go HRCT
Follow Up: Hartcourt’s Secret of Success In China
By Jack Burney
Published by OTCNN.com
06/30/2000 02:58 PM CST
Background: Hartcourt (OTCBB: HRCT) has made truly amazing progress in an “invasion” of the
budding Chinese internet business, as detailed in a recent OTC News Network story. Now, a
Hartcourt executive reveals the secret of that success.
Dennis Poon, an executive of Hartcourt, wrote to give us some late news and to reveal the secret
of the company’s success in China.
“We find ourselves in an advantageous position of being perceived as a China-domestic company
via our China-based subsidiaries, while energized with US capital and technical expertise,” Poon
wrote.
Poon also wrote about Hartcourt’s SinoBull subsidiary, UAC Stock Exchange Online, which
“has developed the ‘Pocket 162’, a revolutionary secure wireless solution for Chinese-based users
that provides Internet access as well as online trading capabilities for Chinese investors and
brokerages.
“This WAP-enabled hand-held device offers anywhere, anytime wireless Internet access. (It) was
successfully demonstrated at a recent financial technology workshop in Beijing that was jointly
organized by UAC Stock Exchange Online, China Telecom, the Beijing Government
Technology Council, and the National Telephone & Telegraph Bureau.
“With China Telecom ("CT") developing its own WAP applications (www.169wap.net), UAC has
been granted a license to use CT`s technology for the ‘Pocket 162’ and other PDAs that UAC is
developing for use in China`s emerging wireless market.”
Poon also wrote of events coming up after the holiday. “On July 5th VP of Corporate Finance,
Jack Westfield will be interviewed by AOL MarketTalk. July 6th will be our launch ceremony for
our www.SinoBull.com portal in Beijing. And on August 5th will be our SinoBull Charity Night in
Beijing with the China Charity Association, which should be a China-media event.
” Writer’s Comment: This enterprising company foresaw the emergence of the internet in China
and moved swiftly to establish acquisitions and partnerships in China to virtually become a Chinese
company. The Chinese seem to have accepted Hartcourt with its many Chinese “disguises” as one
of its own, and that’s good for business. This is private enterprise doing what the diplomats never
could.

Hallo Freunde
(Bin Long eingestellt !!!). Aber was bedeutet Long ???

@ all,

China Reviewing Trade Laws to Prepare for WTO Entry: Report
July 3 (Xinhua) -- China`s law-makers are busy reviewing the country`s foreign trade laws and regulations to see if they conform to the World Trade Organization
rules, China Daily reported today.
The paper quated Shi Guangsheng, minister of foreign trade and economic cooperation (MOFTEC), as saying that all the laws, regulations and policies concerning
foreign trade and investment will be reviewed for possible revisions and even repeal.
Possible revisions will go through the legislative procedures, and the revised drafts of three laws on overseas-invested ventures have been submitted to the State
Council, according to the minister.
Shi said as the country`s WTO entry is "not far away," China is required to reevaluate its foreign business laws and regulations to keep promises it has made to WTO
members.
The drafts of new laws, such as the anti-dumping and anti- subsidy codes, are ready for submission, and the country is also drafting laws to complete its foreign trade
and investment-related legal framework, Shi said.
The report said that transparency of laws and regulations, an improved business environment, and a system to timely notify investors of policy changes are like to make
China`s market more attractive.
In addition, the report said all industries and sectors of the country are examining possible measures to meet challenges and not to miss opportunities brought by its entry
into the WTO.

Hallo Hartcourtler,
Also was fühlt Ihr bei der Sache???

Also was fühlt Ihr bei der Sache???
Guten Morgen!
1 Millionen US$ Gewinn).
China securities lion goes in like a lamb
(3 July 2000) China’s securities sector has gained the industry’s behemoth, the China Galaxy Securities Co. (CGSC), which quietly began operations recently after being formed from five domestic financial-services companies.
Officials with Chinastock.com, which is one of the five companies, said the CGSC received permission from the China Securities Regulatory Commission to start operating at the end of May, Sina.com reported on June 28.
The CGSC is a nationwide comprehensive securities company offering a wide range of services. It was formed from the merger and restructuring of business departments and operating offices formerly under the China Huarong Trust and Investment Co., the China Great Wall Trust and Investment Co., the China Orient Trust and Investment Co., the China Cinda Trust and Investment Co. and the People’s Insurance Company of China Trust and Investment Co., Sina.com reported on June 28.
The CGSC is headquartered in Beijing and owns 174 operating offices in 54 cities in 28 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities nationwide.
Last year, the revenues of the new company’s five trust and investment components totaled 588.73 billion renminbi (US$71.1 billion)—which would have ranked it first in the nation had the CGSC existed at the time.
The head of Chinastock.com said the CGSC has launched online trading services at 34 offices in 25 medium-size and large cities. He said this makes the CGSC China’s most widely distributed and largest domestic online stock-trading company.
The CGSC will continue its efforts to develop its brokerage, registered trading and underwriting business, Sina.com reported.
The CGSC also intends to concentrate its efforts on asset and fund management; mergers, acquisitions and restructurings; financial counseling, venture investments and other new financial products.
In addition, the former Cinda.com was renamed Chinastock.com on May 6, Sina.com noted.

Hallo ZUSAMMEN!
Tja, was soll ich sagen....
bin seit Nov. 99 dabei;-))))
Viele Grüße an Euch alle, Garp.
P.S.: Go HRCT, go!

Asia Broadband Boom Forecast for Next Three Years
[July 4, 2000--HONG KONG] Asia-Pacific broadband
subscription will increase by more than 23 times the
current base of approximately 483,000 users by the year
2003, according to a new report by the Yankee Group
and Technowledge Asia.
Broadband subscribers in the region will leap to
11.2 million users, generating annual revenues of at
least $5.1 billion over the next three years, the report,
published June 7, said.
While broadband access will boom in Asia, widely disparate
environments among key Asian cities will cause natural
variations in actual growth. For instance, cable operators
in Singapore and Hong Kong can ramp up broadband services
within a relatively short time, due to existence of a
cable-modem-ready infrastructure. This creates a
potentially faster rate of subscription from the start,
compared to developing markets like China and India where
cable-modem-ready systems are more the exception than the norm.

hi hrctler,

Follow Up: Hartcourt’s Secret of Success In China
By Jack Burney
Published by OTCNN.com
06/30/2000 02:58 PM CST
Background: Hartcourt (OTCBB: HRCT) has made truly amazing progress in an “invasion” of the budding Chinese internet business, as detailed in a recent OTC News Network story. Now, a Hartcourt executive reveals the secret of that success.
Dennis Poon, an executive of Hartcourt, wrote to give us some late news and to reveal the secret of the company’s success in China.
“We find ourselves in an advantageous position of being perceived as a China-domestic company via our China-based subsidiaries, while energized with US capital and technical expertise,” Poon wrote.
Poon also wrote about Hartcourt’s SinoBull subsidiary, UAC Stock Exchange Online, which “has developed the ‘Pocket 162’, a revolutionary secure wireless solution for Chinese-based users that provides Internet access as well as online trading capabilities for Chinese investors and brokerages.
“This WAP-enabled hand-held device offers anywhere, anytime wireless Internet access. (It) was successfully demonstrated at a recent financial technology workshop in Beijing that was jointly organized by UAC Stock Exchange Online, China Telecom, the Beijing Government Technology Council, and the National Telephone & Telegraph Bureau.
“With China Telecom ("CT") developing its own WAP applications (www.169wap.net), UAC has been granted a license to use CT`s technology for the ‘Pocket 162’ and other PDAs that UAC is developing for use in China`s emerging wireless market.”
Poon also wrote of events coming up after the holiday. “On July 5th VP of Corporate Finance, Jack Westfield will be interviewed by AOL MarketTalk. July 6th will be our launch ceremony for our www.SinoBull.com portal in Beijing. And on August 5th will be our SinoBull Charity Night in Beijing with the China Charity Association, which should be a China-media event.
” Writer’s Comment: This enterprising company foresaw the emergence of the internet in China and moved swiftly to establish acquisitions and partnerships in China to virtually become a Chinese company. The Chinese seem to have accepted Hartcourt with its many Chinese “disguises” as one of its own, and that’s good for business. This is private enterprise doing what the diplomats never could.

Hartcourt Goes Deep Into China With Multiple Ventures
By Jack Burney
Published by OTCNN.com

The Hartcourt Companies Inc. (OTCBB: HRCT) has had a busy June, delving deeply into the Chinese market with agreements and deals. One can imagine executives in the Los Angeles office working through lunch and late into the night.
Hartcourt’s furious pace has apparently made its stock somewhat immune to the June swoon. The price started from a November ’99 low of $0.52, and climbed steadily to a peak of around $20.00, and traded in the $13.00 to $19.00 range till mid-March. It declined almost to $5.00, but experienced a June resurgence to $13.00 and closed Tuesday at a respectable $7.32.
The series of sustaining events unfolded like this.
June 1: Hartcourt subsidiary, Shanghai Guo Mao Financial Corporation, kicked off the month with the formation of a strategic partnership with China Broadcast and Television Cable Networks Ltd, also known as China Cable Networks (CCN). The alliance calls for a multi-year effort to jointly develop and deploy a financial TV channel to be marketed to 80 million Chinese cable TV subscribers across all Chinese provinces and cities. CCN will use its TV broadcasting expertise and integrated technologies to market the "CCN Financial TV Channel" with content developed by Shanghai Guo Mao. The content would be transmitted via satellite and ground transceiver systems optimized for cable TV networks.
June 6: Hartcourt subsidiary Sinobull.com became a strategic partner in China Telecom`s campaign to obtain 10 Million new ISP subscribers by the end of 2001. The goal being to establish a consumer focused web portal for China Telecom’s ChinaNet ISP (www.sinohome.com), with SinoBull as primary financial data provider. A major multi-media blast with advertisements promoting sinohome.com and other ChinaNet ISP services will be distributed through Chinese-based newsprint, radio and television.
June 12: Hartcourt subsidiary Shanghai Guo Mao Financial Corporation, owned by Hartcourt`s Sinobull Group, formed a joint development partnership with a China`s top tier Nokia distributor, Shanghai Industry Foreign Trade Telecom Corporation (SIFTT), to offer Chinese mobile users new Nokia handsets and wireless data terminal products integrated with Shanghai Guo Mao`s financial content. SIFTT is also a Nokia NOK authorized value added developer, and the partnership will provide multimedia information services over not only the existing Nokia`s GSM handsets distributed in China, but also on future Nokia`s wireless data terminals, including Nokia`s 7110 and newer models using WAP technology.
June 15: Subsidiary SinoBull Group, signed a profit sharing content license and usage agreement with Yahoo! Holdings Ltd., the Hong Kong subsidiary of Yahoo!, which will host a number of co-branded pages containing proprietary financial content provided by SinoBull, which, in return, licensed to Yahoo! Holdings global non-exclusive rights to deliver proprietary SinoBull content over the Internet or any wireless or electronic format delivering Yahoo!
June 19: Hartcourt signed a preliminary joint venture agreement with Shenzhen Rayes Group to provide investment and technical support to COL (China Online, www.col.com.cn) -- the largest private-owned ISP in China founded in 1994. Hartcourt agreed to support COL`s new business strategy and implementation plans, including broadband internet infrastructure developments. COL has 105 wholly owned or joint ventured subsidiaries today covering all of China`s major provinces and cities. Since 1994, these subsidiaries have developed over 80 COL-branded portals with localized content. Completion of the deal depends on a satisfactory business model and the completion of the due diligence process being conducted by a leading U.S. investment bank to value COL`s business.
Other than that, nothing much is happening at Hartcourt. (I’ll have egg roll with mine.)

with China Telecom in a unique revenue model for the
sector: Intranet use fees.
[IF] How does your trading platform work?
[SZ] UAC specializes in building trading platforms for
the financial services area, particularly stock trading.
(Internet) trading, however, is not yet happening in
China. The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CRSC)
is concerned with the safety of IP protocol. Clients can
access information on stocks through the Internet, but
trades can only be made in person or by telephone. As a
result, securities firms are forced to staff hundreds of
phone lines. The system is highly inefficient.
The UAC platform interfaces with a packet switching data
network known as ChinaPAC, based on the X.25 protocol.
The network, owned and run by China Telecom and similar
to an EDI, is a fast and secure Intranet that can easily
connect all of China`s brokerage firms to the stock
exchanges for online trading.
UAC has received the necessary MII license to provide an
interface that enables individual customers to access
their brokers through the Intranet to make online, real-
time trades. UAC is the first and only national wide
agent for China Telecom to market access to this Intranet
trading service - customers access the Intranet by
dialing 162.
After installing the SinoBull software (a platform
developed by UAC that interfaces with the 162 Intranet),
clients use the platform to register with their respective
brokers. Each time clients access the 162 network, they
are automatically connected to their broker, logon, and
begin to make trades. The service is available in all of
China`s major cities.
Under this closed system, securities firms do not have to
worry about security. Trading using PCs, PDAs, and set top
boxes is already being well received by SinoBull clients.
Wireless data network (CDPD) access was just announced.
WAP wireless access will soon be possible. In addition,
major commodity trading centers in Zhengzhou and Dalien
are connected to the 162 Intranet as well. Commodity
traders are also able to use the UAC Intranet trading
platform.
[IF] What kinds of revenue streams are available to non-
securities firms in the online stock-trading sector?
[SZ] It`s highly unlikely that any of China`s securities
firms will partner with Internet companies to handle
online stock trades in exchange for a percent of their
trade commissions. China`s securities firms hold a
monopoly on trading commissions and have no need to give
ground there. Instead of sharing revenues with the
securities firms, UAC and our parent group SinoBull
partner with China Telecom to take a percentage of the
RMB 0.5 (USD .06) per minute telephone fare charged to
those using the 162 Intranet service.
We have first-mover status in this area. UAC has already
secured the cooperation of 10 brokerages that pay a
minimal monthly fee to UAC for the service. As the
system catches on, more users will grow familiar with
the SinoBull brand and SinoBull software, and we expect
our revenue stream - through increased 162 access - to
increase exponentially.
[IF] Tell me about your background and how you got
started with UAC.
[SZ] I attended the Beijing University of Post and
Telecommunications, the top university in China for IT
communications. After graduation, I worked for the
Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, which is now
MII. After a brief stint working for Alcatel. I opened
my own company in 1993: Sunnywell Communications.
Sunnywell specialized in telephone applications, and
was an early leader in introducing US-style voice mail
systems into China. In 1998, after finishing an MBA at
Tsinghua University, I opened UAC.
At the time, I was very familiar with networks in China,
and could see that IP stock trading in China was still
a long way away for security reasons. Unlike US brokers,
Chinese brokers don`t hold large amounts of capital to
trade on the markets; they only represent the stock
exchange to the public. Chinese securities companies
lack the necessary capital to establish IP safeguards
for online trading sites like Schwab in the US. I could
see that brokerages were wasting a lot of money trying
to handle trades over the telephone, and so, in 1998
with a staff of three, I founded UAC to develop a 162
Intranet interface. We now have over 20 staff.
[IF] How did you decide to join the Hartcourt Companies`
SinoBull Group?
[SZ] Early last year we were considering an IPO of our
own, but we knew we needed strategic partners,
particularly in marketing and information service
provision. We entered a joint-venture agreement with
Hartcourt in June 1999. Together with The Hartcourt
Companies (OTC:BB HRCT) other invested partners, we
formed the Sinobull financial group of five companies,
each adding necessary strengths. Now that the corporate
reorganization is complete, Hartcourt owns 48% of the
SinoBull group, with the remaining percentage held by
the 5 companies in the group. The SinoBull website
(www.sinobull.com.cn) celebrates its official launch
on July 6 in Beijing.
Regarding the July 6th formal SinoBull ceremony in
Beijing, approximately 200 people will be expected
with key representatives from the government, China`s
Telecom industry, China`s Banking and Securities
industry, China`s IT and Internet industry, and
members of the Beijing and national press. Speeches
are to be made by CEO Dr. Alan Phan, SinoBull CEO
Michael Bianco, COO Dr. Charlie Yang, UAC CEO
Simon Zhang, and special government guest.
As a reminder, the AOL MarketTalk interview with VP of
Corporate Finance, Jack Westfield, hosted by Sage (a
subsidiary of financial portal Multex.com) will be on
Wednesday, July 5th at 12:00 EST (9:00 PST).
"For AOL browsers only, you can view AOL MarketTalk
produced by Sage via AOL keyword: MarketTalk"
Please encourage all who may be interest in Hartcourt`s
growing developments to view the interview as well. Your
support and enthusiasm have been and will continue to be
one of Hartcourt`s greatest assets. Thank you.

Dear Shareholders:
For those who may not have read the interview conducted
by Craig Watts of Interfax, the prominent Russian news
agency covering Europe and Asia, with UAC`s Simon Zhang:
Interfax [IF] talks with Beijing UAC Stock Exchange
Online Co., Ltd. CEO Simon Zhang [SZ] about how UAC`s
platform enables China`s first real-time, online stock
trades by individuals. UAC works around CSRC`s ban on
Internet (IP) trading by extending stock trading service
to individuals through a platform linking users to China
Telecom`s secure stock trading Intranet. UAC partners
with China Telecom in a unique revenue model for the
sector: Intranet use fees.

Guten Morgen

EZ - The launch is on July 6th. The event has been promoted in China where it is being held. As for the rest of the world... it is being covered with on site presence of reporters from the Financial Times and other international business media as well as a live television feed which may or may not be picked up by the likes of CNNfn or CNBC. In addition the Sinobull advertising campaign will commence with the ceremonies.
@Aston Martin, Moritz, jvolta
Danke !
@Gurki
Hi Gurki !
