Ciao Kephas

Company Press Release
Applied Digital Solutions Subsidiary,
Digital Angel.net Inc, Signs Research
Agreement With Princeton University
and New Jersey Institute of Technology
PALM BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 7, 2000--
Expanded research team to speed development of Digital Angel(TM)
device for emergency medical monitoring, commodity supply chain
management, food safety, preventing misuse of firearms, locating
missing individuals and pets, tracking valuable property, and
providing tamper-proof identification for e-commerce security
Applied Digital Chairman, Richard Sullivan, believes Digital Angel
technology could launch new era in ``location-aware`` e-commerce
Applied Digital Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSX - news) today announced that its wholly owned
subsidiary, Digital Angel.net Inc., has signed a research agreement with Princeton University and the
New Jersey Institute of Technology.
The expanded research team will assist in the development of Digital Angel(TM), a miniature digital
transceiver that could be used for a variety of purposes, such as monitoring the medical conditions of
at-risk patients, commodity supply chain management, food safety, preventing the unauthorized use
of firearms, providing a tamper-proof means of identification for enhanced e-commerce security,
locating lost or missing individuals or pets, and tracking the location of valuable property. It is
anticipated that the tiny device - which is intended to be bonded closely to the body or implanted
just under the skin - will be able to send and receive data and that it will be tracked by GPS (Global
Positioning System) technology.
With the newly signed research agreement, three noted experts in the field of wireless
telecommunications and geo-location technologies will join the Digital Angel research team. The
three scientists are: Hisashi Kobayashi, Ph.D., of Princeton University`s Department of Electrical
Engineering; and Sirin Tekinay, Ph.D., and Edip Niver, Ph.D., both of the New Jersey Institute of
Technology`s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Dr. Peter Zhou, President and
Chief Scientist at Digital Angel.net Inc., will continue to provide overall leadership of the Digital
Angel research effort.
Commenting on the research agreement, Richard J. Sullivan, Chairman and CEO of Applied Digital
Solutions, said: ``We`re delighted that these three renowned experts, who are affiliated with such
prestigious institutions, will be joining our effort to develop Digital Angel. As previously announced,
our goal is to produce a working prototype before the end of this year. We`re making enormous
progress toward that goal, and I`m confident that this expanded research team will help us meet it.
We continue to see a huge potential market for Digital Angel, and we`re especially excited about the
role this device could play in launching what we call `location-aware e-commerce.``
Professor Sirin Tekinay of the New Jersey Institute of Technology said: ``We are excited about this
research project. The Digital Angel concept bears the potential to provide applications of significant
value and high impact. We are happy to be working with Dr. Peter Zhou on the enabling
technologies for these applications and on the general proof of this exciting concept.``

Hallo ADSX-Freunde!

Also viele Grüße

hallo zusammen!

Richard Sullivan interview notes....
http://www.ceocast.com had an interview with Sully on July 14. Highlights follow:
-http://www.adsx.com averages 1 million hits per month
-DA patent rights are exclusive. (They`ve never mentioned that before.)
-Aiming for a "early fall" date for the DA prototype to be complete.
-Company sees just the agribusiness side of DA as a potential $10 billion market.
-Will look for partners for DA and licensing.
-Research before the DA patent was bought showed a potential $150 billion vertical market opportunity
-Building an ASP central office in Jacksonville, Florida for DA
-Claimed institutional holdings up to 8%
-Thinks market capitalization should be "in excess of $1.5 billion"
-He views the company as, "Best, most undervalued, best kept secret on Wall Street today."
Ok, now for my comments.
The mention of the patent rights being exclusive and a prototype due in "early fall" were very pleasant surprises.

Also, DFCO kostet 1,5 ADSX Aktien.

KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR ‘ANGEL’
It was the brainchild of a retired police officer — a
coin-sized, implantable global positioning system
(GPS) transceiver that could help authorities locate
an abducted child. The cop patented his idea in 1997,
and now Palm Beach, Fla.-based “e-business
provider” Applied Digital Solutions (ADS) has
acquired rights to the somewhat Orwellian invention,
which the company has dubbed “Digital Angel.”
Equipped with both GPS and biological monitoring
capabilities, the Digital Angel could, in theory, not only
find a lost child but also alert a local hospital when an
elderly patient experiences cardiac arrest while at home.
ADS intends for the device to derive its power from
normal muscle movements, eliminating the need for a
battery.
ADS is working on a $130 million deal to acquire
Destron Fearing — a South St. Paul, Minn., maker of
identification devices for pets, livestock and wildlife —
and merge that company into a Digital Angel.net
subsidiary. Preliminary testing of a Digital Angel prototype
could begin by year’s end.

Applied Digital Solutions Acquires Perimeter Technology, an Innovative,
Privately Held Company Specializing in Multimedia Customer-interaction
Technologies
PALM BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 24, 2000--
The acquisition, which will allow Applied Digital to offer
cutting-edge products, including Net-VU(TM), an Internet-based
Automatic Contact Distributor (ACD), is designed to accelerate
Applied Digital`s strategic goal of enabling e-business through
CTII(TM) -- Computer Telephony Internet Integration
Applied Digital Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSX - news), a leading, single-source provider of e-business solutions, today announced the acquisition of Perimeter
Technology, a privately held company that provides a comprehensive suite of technologies that enable organizations to support a wide array of Internet customer
contact techniques.
These customer interaction tools include a Web-enabled Multimedia ACD engine, IP-ACD (Internet Protocol-Automatic Call Distribution), Web contact solutions,
Internet Softphones, and status displays. Perimeter Technology customers include such leading telecommunications service providers as Bell Atlantic, Pacific Bell,
Sprint, US West, GTE and SBC.
Commenting on the acquisition, Applied Digital`s Chairman and CEO, Richard Sullivan said: ``We`re very excited about this acquisition. As previously announced,
our strategic e-business direction is to provide customers with the full suite of services and capabilities they need for e-business success. By bringing Perimeter
Technology and its comprehensive suite of customer touch technologies into the Applied Digital family, we will be able to offer our customers a single point of
contact for managing all of their customer relationships, whether it`s via telephone, fax, computer network or the Internet. With this acquisition, we`re taking a major
step forward in our strategic initiative to enable e-business through the integration of computers, telephones and the Internet. We`re particularly excited about the
potential for marketing Perimeter`s revolutionary Net-VU product, which allows companies to provide real-time linkage between their websites and their customer
contact centers. Perimeter Technology has been embraced by some of the most respected telecommunications providers in the world, which attests to the high level
of service and reliability their products bring to the marketplace.``
Perimeter Technology introduced Net-VU, an innovative, IP-based ACD, in April. Net-VU transforms a company`s website into a dynamic communications and
information tool by providing real-time, multimedia agent-to-customer contacts. These contacts will enable customers to talk directly with an agent, submit an email
message or request a personal call back on-line. By enabling sales or customer service agents to handle both web inquires and telephone inquiries, Net-VU helps
companies maximize their investment in their contact centers, while facilitating the introduction of Internet-based e-business solutions. Ideally, today`s contact center
integrates multimedia technologies into all of its core business processes. Utilizing the same open-standards IP network, the multimedia contact center is the `front
door` into any business. The new Net-VU technology enables enterprises of all sizes to compete in the New Economy landscape that has the Internet at its core.
IP-based ACD capabilities grow out of the recent advances in data compression technologies, coupled with the evolution of Voice over IP standards and the
expansion of high-quality, cost-effective multimedia PC/server capabilities. Combining true IP telephony and multimedia technologies (voice, email, video and fax)
over a single IP network is the essence of so-called ``convergence,`` a prominent industry catchphrase in recent years. With the acquisition of Perimeter Technology,
Applied Digital Solutions will be able to offer customers a true IP-ACD solution, an important cornerstone of the company`s CTII strategy.
More About Perimeter Technology`s Net-VU Internet ACD
Net-VU Internet ACD is a software Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) solution that merges an organization`s Contact Center and Website, creating a ``virtual
storefront`` staffed with Contact Center Agents. Net-VU provides the means for the web customer on an organization`s Website to generate an inquiry at the time
they choose, connecting them to a Contact Center Agent via one or more communication mediums, including On-Line Text Chat, E-Mail, PSTN Call-Back and
Voice over IP. Net-VU facilitates the queuing and routing of all web-initiated inquiries from the website using ACD rules familiar to the Contact Center. It also
allows Contact Center supervisors to use a single MIS solution for the real-time display and reporting of both telephone and web inquiries/agents.
