QUALCOMM Enters Into CDMA Enterprise Infrastructure Equipment License Agreement with ExiO Communications, Inc.

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 5, 2000--QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq:QCOM), today announced that it has entered into a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) worldwide enterprise infrastructure equipment license agreement with ExiO Communications, Inc., headquartered in San Jose, Calif. Under the terms of the royalty-bearing agreement, QUALCOMM has licensed ExiO Communications certain QUALCOMM patents and technology to develop, manufacture and sell wireless infrastructure equipment for private, in-building or campus-wide network enterprise applications using cdmaOne(TM), cdma2000(TM) and QUALCOMM`s High Data Rate (HDR) technology.

"Private, in-building wireless systems are particularly attractive in the educational campus, airport, health care facility, retail establishment, government and manufacturing office environments, providing users mobility throughout their work environment while receiving and making mobile phone calls with all the features of their office telephone systems," said Marvin Blecker, senior vice president of business development for QUALCOMM. "QUALCOMM looks forward to ExiO Communications contributing to the expansion of the CDMA marketplace through its development of this new application."
