Hi folks -
gruss an alle antigone

Hi antigone,
Zudem stehen bald gute Quartalszahlen an (hoffentlich).

nachzufragen.

Needham on BroadVision
--1:59 pm - By Michael Baron
Needham & Co. analyst Richard Davis offered his opinion on BroadVision (BVSN: news, msgs) Tuesday. Shares of the Redwood City, Calif., e-business applications firm are falling 4 3/4, or 11.9 percent, to 35 1/8 after rival Art Technology (ARTG: news, msgs) won its second high-profile e-commerce platform contract in past week [see 11:40 am and 12:17 pm items]. "A shift in market share plate tectonics seems to be occurring," said Davis, who has a "hold" rating on BroadVision. According to Davis, BroadVision is at a disadvantage, at least in the near-term, when compared to Art Technology because ARTG`s Dyamno e-commerce product is completely Java-based, which makes it easy to customize. "The Java-based architecture is completely scalable," said Davis, "And that will make it the standard in the long-term." BroadVision has a proprietary platform that`s not completely Java-compliant yet. Another advantage of ARTG is that it has "outstanding" relationships with channel integrators compared to BroadVision`s "good" relationships, Davis said. BroadVision`s strength when compared to upstart ARTG is its stellar track record but Davis believes the psychology of the importance of this took a serious blow in the past week. "Before BroadVision was always considered the market leader," he said, "Now, as a result of ARTG`s recent success, that perception has been shaken a bit, leading to the sell-off." Davis noted Vignette (VIGN: news, msgs), another player in the online customer relationship management sector, is also down, losing 6 9/16, or 14 percent, to 40 5/16 in afternoon trading. Davis said BroadVision is "interesting" at these levels but trading could be a bit choppy over the next few weeks.

hi sherpy,

Was ist schlecht an Kursschwankungen? Beruhigt Euch bitte! Schönen Abend!
Ich habe heute ebenfalls nachgekauft. Absolute Schnäppchenpreise. Ich denke das Kursniveau ist deutlich untertrieben

Hallo BVSN-Freunde,

muesst: Homepage nasdaq.com, dann Kuerzel BVSN eingeben. Danach auf "Get Info Quotes" gehen.

RESEARCH ALERT-ABN AMRO cuts Art Technology Group
CHICAGO, July 10 (Reuters) - ABN AMRO analyst Jackson Spears Jr. said on Monday he cut his
rating on technology provider Art Technology Group Inc. <ARTG.O> to hold from outperform and
repeated his buy rating on BroadVision Inc. <BVSN.O>. -- said in a research note he expects Art
Technology to have a "great" second quarter with revenues rising about 315 percent to $25.9 million, but
he is downgrading the company due to its high stock price. -- said, "At current prices, Art Technology is
selling at 565 times our fiscal year 2001 EPS estimate and 34 times our revenue estimate." -- said
BroadVision lost American Airlines` Web site business to Art Technology due to account support issues.
He said he expected the company to step up its commitment to client support significantly. -- said
American Airlines was not one of BroadVision`s top 20 accounts, based on revenue, and the loss of
American Airlines as a client would reduce BroadVision`s fiscal year 2001 revenue by about 0.1 percent.
-- said BroadVision and Art Technology Group target different segments of the Internet infrastructure
software market. -- said rumors of other major account losses by BroadVision appeared to be false.
Shares of Art Technology Group rose 1/2 at 112 and shares of BroadVision rose 2-7/8 at 42-7/8 on
Nasdaq in morning trade.

Grüsse an alle BVSN-Fans

Just try it again.

BROADVISION (BVSN) CHAIRMAN AND CEO PEHONG CHEN ON THE COMPANY`S LOSS OF THE
AMERICAN AIRLINES (AMR) CONTRACT
JULY 11, 2000
SUMMARY: Chen discusses the loss of the American Airlines (AMR) contract to Art Technologies
(ARTG). He says the company`s biggest strength is providing companies with technology solutions
from the supply side to the sell side and says the company is a strong supporter of Java.
Bill: Today`s "By Request" segment focuses on a company called BroadVision, a leading software
developer that helps companies do business online. Its big name clients, including Bank of America
and Citigroup, have helped push the company to the forefront of the e-business applications market.
Last week was a rough one, though, for BroadVision.
On Friday, the stock fell 25% after rival Art Technology won away the contract to power the American
Airline`s Web site, effectively wiping away more than $3 billion in market cap in one day. Here to talk
about that and the outlook going forward is BroadVision`s chairman and CEO, Pehong Chen, joining us
today from Stanford, California.
Nice to see you again, welcome back.
Good to see you.
Bill: What happened?
Well with, you see the, for the buyers of software application, the perennial question has always been
bill versus buy and for American Airlines, and we`ve been powering this site for the last three years to a
greater claim of success, last year there came in a new management team and decided to have some
new ownership on the site going forward. And now they opted to go with the bill category rather than
buy which is something we represent.
Bill: The scouting report is you didn`t do enough hand-holding, didn`t have enough on site people to
really do what is necessary to maintain a large contract like American Airlines.
Something to do with that because we are growing so fast, I think that there are some degree of truth to
that. However, they also contracted the whole development out to a third party integrator who in this
case also favors the competing product.
Bill: Art Technology.
Yeah. So we basically --.
Bill: You are growing fast but is that really an excuse for losing a contract like that, though?
We are not, therefore we have made tremendous sort of improvements in that department. We have
grown from only about 55 consultants now to over 600 over the last 12 months, so I think those kind of
situations will not repeat again.
Bill: I have received a number of e-mail questions about this issue to sum of what they are asking,
basically, is how big was the contract with American Airlines relative to other customers and what are
you doing to make up the lost revenue there?
Indeed, I think the investors really over reacted in the situation. This is one of 700 customers that we
have, so by any account it is really immaterial. For a lifetime size standpoint, it is about number 39 in
the ranking and so it is really, really very, very small. For one --.
Bill: What people are wondering if you lose one contract, you admit it, growing too fast and didn`t do as
much as you could to keep that one, could there be others behind at this point?
As I said, we have made great strides in terms of services and support organization over the last twelve
months and we now have a fairly good footprint and we think are doing a very, very good job now.
Bill: Get to other e-mail questions: Because of the fierce competition for e-commerce dollars to build
out the marketplace infrastructure, could you see your company emphasizing a particular area to gain
an edge?
Sure. That is a very good point. I think the biggest strengths that we have is that we provide companies
technologies to link their entire value chain together from the supply side all the way to the sell side.
We have solutions that covers it all, probably the best example is Hallmark which is doing everything on
BroadVision technology, linking the suppliers, stores as wells consumers online.
Bill: Another question about your competitor, Art Technology. This viewer points out: your software is
less attractive from the standpoint that it is not written in Java from the ground up as Art`s is. They want
to know your possible integration with Java and XML in BroadVision products.
Very good question. We are a staunch supporter of Java, we have announced in March a $30 million
co-development, co-marketing deal with Sun Microsystems, the inventor of Java, to actually together
define and push new standards in J2EE. We have always supported Java. To the question of whether
ground up should be Java, let me say that Sun`s own operating system is not written in Java, so that is
not the question. The question is in the development environment, do you really fully support Java,
which we do. In terms of XML, with you we now have the strongest XML technology in the market, we
acquired a company the last two and a half years is building full XML content management technology
as well as XSL which allows us to go for wireless devices in an independent manner.
Bill: Nice to see you again, thank you for joining us.
Pleasure.
Bill: My thanks to Pehong Chen, chairman and CEO of BroadVision.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

See you

Hallo antigone,
Folgendes Fazit scheint mir plausibel:
Bislang hat BVSN die Schaetzungen immer uebertroffen, they better do it this time again.

2. Technik:

Da könnte Licht ins Dunkle kommen, da US-Konjunkturdaten folgen. Wenn Du längerfristig denkst, dann schlag zu.

Organic Establishes Business Partnership With Broadvision to Provide One-To-One E-Business Solutions to Clients
SAN FRANCISCO, July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Organic, Inc., (Nasdaq: OGNC - news), an international Internet professional services firm, and BroadVision (Nasdaq: BVSN; Neuer Markt: BDN), the leading worldwide supplier of personalized e-business applications, today announced that they have entered into a business partnership to provide personalization solutions to Organic`s clients.
In addition to BroadVision granting software licenses for all of their products to Organic, the two companies will also be involved in joint marketing and sales. The collaborative promotional efforts will focus on highlighting Organic`s ability to provide one-to-one solutions to clients through the deployment of BroadVision technology. Efforts will include building a business plan with sales, marketing, and technology components, pursuing joint business development opportunities, and combined participation in marketing events such as trade shows and seminars.
Organic intends to use BroadVision`s software to help create personalized e-commerce solutions for its clients -- clients like online clothing and home design catalog, Garnet Hill, who entrusted Organic and BroadVision with developing the garnethill.com retail site. To deliver a personalized experience to customers, Organic, BroadVision and Garnet Hill worked together to create an ``Express Shop`` feature, as well as systems to remember registered customers when they return to garnethill.com.
Organic is also creating technology-based BroadVision solutions for telecommunications giant British Telecommunications plc, for bt.com. As part of an effort to overhaul bt.com, Organic is redeveloping the site to allow greater integration of BroadVision software, which will increase personalization for users.
``When developing an interactive business, we focus on the customer and their needs,`` said Jonathan Nelson, Organic`s CEO. ``Using BroadVision`s One-To-One(TM) applications, we`re able to understand what customers really want. This information ensures that the solutions we develop fulfill customer preferences.``
``Personalization can be a powerful tool for businesses that appreciate the importance of effectively understanding their customers,`` said Nancy Mills, vice president of BroadVision`s Worldwide Professional Services Organization. ``Organic has achieved great success with online businesses that they have built for their clients due to their intimate understanding of customer behavior and preference. BroadVision will help them take that understanding a great leap further through the usage of our personalization solutions.``
The BroadVision One-To-One application suite can provide online business solutions across all channels within an enterprise, including Internet, call center, and interactive voice response systems. It can also link an enterprise`s customer database to increase its ability to create customized content, product offerings and integrate information based on user preferences. In addition, the technology will provide security for users to gather information and purchase products and services on the Web.

http://messages.yahoo.com/bbs?.mm=FN&action=m&board=4687999&…
14 Jul 15:23
SAN FRANCISCO (Dow Jones)--BroadVision Inc. (BVSN) won`t disappoint investors when it reports second quarter results next week, Chief Executive Pehong Chen told Dow Jones.
"We`ve always beaten earnings estimates, and normally by a fairly good
margin," Chen said. "You can say we are extremely comfortable with analysts` expectations."
Chen wouldn`t discuss specific figures. The per-share profit consensus for the period ended June 30 is two cents, according to First Call/Thomson Financial.
In the year-earlier period, BroadVision reported net income of $3.3 million, or 1 cent a share, on revenue of $23.4 million.
Chen is trying to reassure jittery investors. On Wednesday, Open Market Inc. (OMKT), one of BroadVision`s long-time rivals in Internet commerce software, warned that it would lose more money than expected.
He is even more eager to counter investor perceptions that BroadVision is having trouble holding or winning customers, fears that he estimates have sliced $3.5 billion off the company`s market capitalization in the past week. The sell-off, including a 34% plunge on July 7, was triggered when longtime customer American Airlines, a unit of AMR Corp. (AMR), said it was switching to software from rival Art Technology Group Inc. (ARTG).
Then there was a rumor that BroadVision had lost Wal-Mart.com as customer. It never had been, Chen says. But Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (WMT), a separate organization, is a customer and remains one, he said.
The noise over a few companies, Chen said, obscures the fact that BroadVision continues to add new customers "faster than ever." This is despite the perception that the Internet business is in something of a slump.
"Business is hotter than the March quarter," Chen said. "We don`t see a slowing down at all."
Though dot-com start-ups may be cutting back, big companies that need to restructure their operations continue to need to buy, Chen said.
"Deals are won and lost every day,"Chen said. "Why one (American Airlines) should cost a third of our market value is the kind of question I find mind-boggling."

@ BVSN´ler,

Hi,
bin auch mal wieder fuendig geworden:
Italcementi Starts Online Construction Marketplace (Update1)
7/17/00 10:41:00 AM
Source: Bloomberg News
Milan, July 17 (Bloomberg) -- Italcementi SpA, the world`s fourth-biggest cement maker, said it started an Internet-based exchange for
construction industry supplies, seeking to cut transaction costs and benefit from Italy`s growing Internet use.
Italcementi said it plans to invest 100 billion lire ($48.5 million) in the online marketplace, called BravoBuild, during the coming three years. It
said the exchange will cut transaction costs for companies taking part by between 5 percent and 20 percent.
``Staying out of the new economy is a weakness these days,`` said Anna Maria Mortari, an analyst at Studio
Mortari who has a ``buy`` rating on the stock, ``so it is important that Italcementi is committing itself to the
Internet with such a substantial investment.``
Companies are looking to the Web to reduce the cost of buying and selling supplies. Impregilo SpA, Italy`s
largest construction company, Fiat SpA, the world`s sixth-biggest car and truck maker and Parmalat
Finanziaria SpA, Italy`s largest dairy company, are among the companies that are planning online
marketplaces to cut costs.
``We`re aiming to make this the leading European Internet portal for the construction industry,`` said Rodolfo
Danielli, Italcementi`s general manager in an interview with Bloomberg Television.
Danielli said the company is studying taking the Internet venture public in an initial public offering.
``For one thing, that could allow our fellow stakeholders to reap the value of their stakes in BravoBuild,`` he
said.
Venture Capital
He also said the Internet unit is open to venture capital investment.
Italcementi said companies joining its exchange can take part in online auctions and publish their product catalogues as well as access
specialized financial, logistical and project management services. Taking part will also give smaller companies wider reach, saving both time
and money, it said.
Management consultants McKinsey & Company Inc. advised Italcementi on the project. BroadVision Inc., which makes software allowing
companies to personalize what their customers see on their Web sites, and TXT e-solutions, an Italian business-software developer,
provided the technology.
Danielli said Italcementi expects the venture to break even within between 24 and 36 months.
Italcementi shares gained 0.11 euro, or 1.1 percent, to 9.82, their biggest rise in over two weeks. TXT shares fell 0.52 euro, or 0.7 percent,
to 75.03 euros.

Also erstmal abwarten.

Barclays PLC, (LSE:BCS) one of Europe`s leading banking groups, has selected BroadVision to provide One-to-One applications software to drive its
business portal, Barclays B2B.com. Providing personalisation and content management capability, BroadVision will enable Barclays B2B.com customers to
receive and manage advanced, profile-based content and transaction services.
A true B2B proposition, Barclays B2B.com is an electronic trading network, selling value added business and financial services beginning with a secure
"purchase to payment" e-procurement system. The Barclays B2B.com web portal is initially designed to help businesses increase sales and decrease
support costs. Future plans will see the portal offer a wider range of business services across the Net.
Rachael Atkinson, acting CEO of Barclays B2B.com, comments:
"Barclays has always committed to be at the forefront of innovation, and Barclays B2B.com is yet another example of this. We will offer our customers an
online experience that stands out from the competition in what is a very crowded marketplace.
"With this in mind, and with the demands of business-to-business e-commerce, it is necessary that the application chosen is best of breed, offering
functionality, scalability and security, whilst the application provider must also be stable, established and experienced.
In BroadVision, Barclays B2B.com has chosen the best of breed e-commerce applications provider for a best of breed B2B site. We will continue to work
closely with our colleagues in BroadVision to ensure that we remain at the leading edge."
Core to the success of Barclays B2B.com is a strong technology foundation. In BroadVision`s One-To-One applications, Barclays B2B.com will receive an
ongoing commitment to open standards, high performance and scalability. BroadVision One-To-One applications are a robust foundation for real-time,
individualised targeting, offering easy, flexible content management and a foundation for the next generation of Internet applications running from Web to
wireless environments.
Mark Hughes, managing director of BroadVision (UK), comments:
"Our experience providing e-commerce software and services for some of the world`s largest banking and business-to-business sites places us in a
leadership position for bringing a unique application solution such as Barclays B2B.com to market.
"A leading edge business proposition, Barclays B2B.com will bring real benefits for those organisations that use it. Full personalisation will provide
organisations with the information and services they want, delivered how they want, to help run their business more profitably."

Na was ist denn nun los? Keine Kommentare mehr? He, Antigone.....was ist denn nun mit Deinen unbrauchbaren Parolen?

Leapnet Helps Develop Large Scale Web Site for the Largest U.S. Warehouse Club Using BroadVision Applications
CHICAGO & REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 25, 2000--
Companies Join Forces to Deploy SAMSClub.com
Leapnet, Inc.`s (Nasdaq: LEAP) Internet development and marketing subsidiary, Quantum Leap Communications, Inc., and BroadVision Inc. (Nasdaq: BVSN, Neuer Mrkt: BDN), a leading provider of personalized e-business applications, today announced their participation in the development of a large scale Web site for SAM`S Club located at http://www.SAMSClub.com.
Quantum Leap optimized BroadVision One-To-One e-business applications for the new Web site and leveraged Leapnet`s vast and growing expertise in the implementation of BroadVision-based solutions.
SAMSClub.com illustrates the integration of Leapnet`s expansive strategic, creative and technology resources, as well as the transition of its developers from mainframe to BroadVision focused. Capitalizing on its top-tier partnership with BroadVision, Inc., Leapnet tapped into several of the 70-plus consultants who have been trained on the BroadVision One-To-One suite of application solutions for customer relationship management to help SAM`S Club achieve its online needs.
"The launch of SAMSClub.com is a good representation of Quantum Leap`s ongoing dedication to the implementation of BroadVision One-To-One applications," said Gino Padua, Vice President and General Manager, Worldwide Channels for BroadVision, Inc. "Demonstrating the capacity to scale quickly, Quantum Leap harnesses the pervasive influence of e-business personalization to best meet the client`s demand."
Targeting existing and potential SAM`S Club members, the unique features of the site currently include:
o Club Support Service Center that comprehensively provides online instructions to members on how to handle and check status of orders, cancellations, returns and exchanges, as well as addressing any questions or suggestions;
o General Merchandise section for online purchase of books, CD`s, DVD`s, videos, computer software and office supplies;
o Catalog Selections line of business-specific products, such as greenhouses, school and daycare equipment, vending machines, and hospital linens.
"The front-end development and execution of SAMSClub.com solidifies our dual relationship with SAM`S Club and BroadVision, in addition to our commitment to company-wide integration. In collaboration with Wal-Mart`s Information Systems Division, Quantum Leap displays its knowledge of innovative programming and technologies through the strength of our client and partner alliances," concluded Matthew Hanson, Quantum Leap`s Chief Technology Officer.

"LISTEN TO THIS 3 weeks ago an anlayst from SG COWEN downgraded BVSN citing that a competitior company`s (Art Technology Group ; ARTG ) technology is superior and might have contributed to the loss of a major customer ( American Airlines ; AMR) by (Broadvision), and warned that organic growth of the company might be slowing. After the downgrade BVSN`s price slipped 26% and ended up down $14 from the prior closing price of $53 to close at $39. A couple of days later we could see that SG COWEN started to accumulate heavily on the stock up to last week. Finally middle of last week one of your analsysts upgraded the BVSN to a strong buy. His actions as a representative of your firm is highly suspicious and the majority of BVSN`s investors would like an explanation to his actions. Please reply promptly before LEGAL ACTION is being considered. INaddition this complaint letter has been forwarded to the SEC and their enforcement departmnet is looking into the matter as we speak.

so what?

@Scrabble,
Zuerst meinen Respekt.
Also sei bitte etwas objektiver ok?
