      Hallo Leute,

      Was denkt ihr dazu ?

      Needham on BroadVision
--1:59 pm - By Michael Baron
Needham & Co. analyst Richard Davis offered his opinion on BroadVision (BVSN: news, msgs) Tuesday. Shares of the
      Redwood City, Calif.,
e-business applications firm are falling 4 3/4, or 11.9 percent, to 35 1/8 after rival Art Technology (ARTG: news, msgs) won
      its second high-profile
e-commerce platform contract in past week [see 11:40 am and 12:17 pm items]. "A shift in market share plate tectonics
      seems to be occurring,"
said Davis, who has a "hold" rating on BroadVision. According to Davis, BroadVision is at a disadvantage, at least in the
      near-term, when
compared to Art Technology because ARTG`s Dyamno e-commerce product is completely Java-based, which makes it easy
      to customize. "The
Java-based architecture is completely scalable," said Davis, "And that will make it the standard in the long-term." BroadVision
      has a proprietary
platform that`s not completely Java-compliant yet. Another advantage of ARTG is that it has "outstanding" relationships with
      channel integrators
compared to BroadVision`s "good" relationships, Davis said. BroadVision`s strength when compared to upstart ARTG is its
      stellar track record but
Davis believes the psychology of the importance of this took a serious blow in the past week. "Before BroadVision was
      always considered the
market leader," he said, "Now, as a result of ARTG`s recent success, that perception has been shaken a bit, leading to the
      sell-off." Davis noted
Vignette (VIGN: news, msgs), another player in the online customer relationship management sector, is also down, losing 6
      9/16, or 14 percent, to
40 5/16 in afternoon trading. Davis said BroadVision is "interesting" at these levels but trading could be a bit choppy over the
      next few weeks.
