Hallo zusammen,

also, viele offene fragen und wenige gesicherte antworten.

Thread sehr viele Fachleute u. Kenner ihre Meinungen austauschen. Ich bin im Jan. 2000 durch den
Berlin Stock-News u. Bericht Volker Arndt auf LPTH aufmerksam geworden. Weitere Recherchen führten
mich ins Board, wo Erbse 1 u. andere sehr fundierte Beiträge hereinstellten.

daraufkommenden Quartral bemerkbar machen. Außerdem ist wichtig das Umsatzwachstum. Man sollte
vom net loss jetzt keine Riesensprünge erwarten. Aber haltet euch vor Augen. Wir produzieren für Corning, haben
mit Avanex was laufen.
Portfolio liegen.
Viel Glück weiterhin mit LP

Hallo Seraleone u. For4!
Habe jetzt länger gesucht, wo ich das Ding her hatte u. bin fündig geworden. Schaut mal ins Juchu-Board
(www.juchu.de) unter "Internet", Thread v. "magoo-1" vom 7.8.00, 18.52 h, Titel "Optische
Netzwerke. Diskussionsgrundlage".

The following site serves as an "archive" for LightPath investors and prospective investors:
http://www.lightpath.intranets.com/
The registration code is "LP2000". The site contains links to various Fiber Optic articles (first quoted on Raging Bull or Yahoo!), as well as copies of certain posts. The information is organized in "Folders" by topic.
The Intranet does not always work perfectly. For example, yesterday it "lost" the Valdor articles....
Also, be sure to look at the Forbes ASAP articles about FO (including refence to LPTH and its affiliate Lightchip Optical Networking):

Press Release
SOURCE: LightPath Technologies, Inc.
LightPath Technologies Announces Fiscal 2000 Financial Results; Revenue Growth Reflects Isolators Sales and Increased Collimator Sales
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- LightPath Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: LPTH - news), manufacturer of families of high-performance fiber-optic collimator and isolator products®, today announced financial results for the quarter and fiscal year ended June 30, 2000. Results for the three month and twelve month reporting periods ended June 30, 2000 include the operating results of Horizon Photonics, Inc. (HPI) since April 14, 2000, the date the Company acquired HPI.
For the quarter ended June 30, 2000, the Company reported total revenues of $1.4 million compared to total revenues of $349,228 for the fourth quarter of the previous year, a 297% increase due primarily from HPI isolator sales. Excluding development fees, product shipments alone increased by 597% over the fourth quarter of 1999. Net loss for the quarter was $11.5 million, which includes approximately $9 million in non-cash charges for the write off of the acquired in-process research and development of HPI, amortization of HPI intangible assets and stock based compensation expense. Net loss applicable to common shareholders in the fourth quarter of 2000 was also $11.5 million or $(0.73) per applicable common share, compared to a net loss of $561,035 and a net loss applicable to common shareholders of $589,027 or $(0.12) per applicable common share, in the fourth quarter of the previous year. Excluding the non-cash charges, which attributed $(.57) to the net loss per share, the net loss per applicable common share would have been $(0.16) in the fourth quarter of 2000.
For the year ended June 30, 2000, the Company reported a 109% increase in total revenues to $2.3 million compared with $1.1 million for the comparable period in the previous year. Excluding development fees, product shipments alone increased by 194% over the previous year. Net loss for fiscal 2000 was $15.6 million, and net loss applicable to common shareholders was $17.8 million or $(1.86) per applicable common share, compared to a net loss of $3.1 million and net loss applicable to common shareholders of $3.4 million or $(0.79) per applicable common share, for fiscal 1999. The Company has incurred significant non-cash charges, which total $10.2 million, for the write off of the acquired in-process research and development of HPI, amortization of HPI intangible assets, debt discount amortization and stock based compensation expense. Excluding these non-cash charges, which attributed $(1.06) to the net loss per share, the net loss per applicable common share would have been $(0.80). The net cash used in operations for fiscal 2000 was $3.3 million as compared to $2.7 million for the comparable periods in 1999. The number of shares outstanding used in the per-share calculations for the three and twelve month period increased by 227% and 124% respectively, from the previous year`s comparable periods due to the conversions of the convertible debentures and preferred stock issued in private placements and the exercise of Class A and Class B warrants and other outstanding warrants and options. The Company ended the fiscal year with no debt and approximately $59 million in cash.
The Company also announced that it had posted record product sales bookings for the fourth consecutive quarter. Sales bookings increased by over 300% for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2000 compared to the previous quarter. This increase was primarily attributed to new collimator and isolator orders taken from Corning Inc. and Lucent Technologies, Inc. As of June 30, 2000, the Company`s sales orders stands at over $4 million and the Company expects significant growth in both its telecom product areas over the next twelve months.
During fiscal 2000, the Company added approximately 135 new customers, of which 70% purchased products directly related to telecom applications. Geographically, the Company`s customers are primarily U.S. based (77%), with customers from Germany (11%) and other foreign countries (12%) making up the balance.
During fiscal 2000, the Company invested approximately $5.2 million for capital equipment and patent protection. The majority of the capital expenditures during the year were related to the build out of clean rooms and equipment used to expand the manufacturing facilities for collimator production. The Company has committed another $5 million in fiscal 2001 to be used primarily to expand its isolator manufacturing facilities at Horizon.
Don Lawson, President and CEO, commented, ``I am pleased with the results of the quarter as they are reflective of our effort in fiscal 2000 to establish momentum in the fast growing telecommunications component sector. Additionally, fiscal 2000 marks the merger of our automated technologies, a significantly improved cash position and product acceptance by key industry leaders. The sales orders we took in the quarter resulted from the completion of very extensive qualification cycles by both Corning and Lucent and the movement to ramp-up quantities. The fact that this cycle is ongoing with many other telecom customers is a reflection that the optical solutions we are providing are in demand throughout the industry as the optical network is built out. Our automation platforms are producing collimator and isolator products with real cost advantages to our customers. We will continue to leverage these capabilities to package additional products and modules to meet their needs.``
LightPath manufactures its proprietary collimator assembly, GRADIUM glass products and other optical telecommunications products at its headquarters in Albuquerque. The Company`s subsidiary, Horizon Photonics Inc., manufactures isolator products utilizing its proprietary automation technology in Walnut, California. LightPath also has an office in Warren, New Jersey for the purpose of development of various optical switch products. The Company has 22 patents, plus 7 more pending, associated with its optical technologies. In addition, various foreign countries have issued a total of 8 patents with 9 patents pending. LightPath common stock trades on the Nasdaq National Market under the stock symbol LPTH.

Hallo LPTH-Experten!
Was macht Geltech? 29 Patente hört sich aber gut an.

LightPath Technologies Announces Agreement to Acquire Geltech,
Inc
PR Newswire
Monday August 14 9:00am
LightPath Expands Product Portfolio With Entree to The
Telecommunication Active Optical Component Markets
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Aug. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- LightPath
Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: LPTH), manufacturer of families of high
performance fiber-optic collimator and isolator products, announced today
the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire Geltech, Inc. Geltech, a
privately held company headquartered in Orlando, Florida, is a leading
manufacturer of precision molded aspherical optics used in the active telecom
components market to provide a highly efficient means to couple laser diodes
to fibers or waveguides. Additionally, Geltech has a unique and proprietary
line of all-glass diffraction gratings (StableSil(R)) for telecom applications
such as optical switching, mux/demux and laser tuning as well as a product
family of Sol-Gel based waveguides.
Under the terms of the agreement, approximately 823,000 shares of
LightPath common stock will be exchanged for all outstanding shares of
Geltech, placing the current market value of the transaction at $27.5 million.
The final number of shares is subject to adjustment and will be determined at
closing, which is expected to occur prior to September 30, 2000. LightPath
will also assume Geltech`s debt of approximately $1.7 million.
"This acquisition reflects the continuation of our strategic plan to provide a
broad and comprehensive range of optical product solutions to the telecom
industry," stated Donald E. Lawson, President and CEO of LightPath. "With
Geltech we are adding depth to our product offerings, gaining access to a
larger customer base and expanding our optical material technologies. We
are also adding a very talented group of employees to our organization. The
optical products from Geltech`s mature precision molded asphere
manufacturing process are aimed directly at the fast growing 980-nm pump
laser market. Of equal importance is their established Sol-Gel technology,
which provides a vehicle to exploit opportunities with diffraction gratings
(DWDM), lens arrays (switches and DWDM), optical amplification
(high-gain dopants), and tunable high power transmitter lasers. We are
pleased to be able to acquire Geltech at a time when optical material
technologies are becoming of increased importance in the build out of the
networks."
Dr. Jean-Luc Nogues, Chief Operation Officer of Geltech, stated, "Our
management and employees are very excited by the opportunities and
potential this merger brings to the Company. We have been on a very
aggressive growth track since the end of 1999 fueled by strong acceptance
of our Telecommunications products. We are delighted by the synergy
between the two companies. Complementing LightPath`s passive optical
components with the active components Geltech brings will provide an
extensive depth of products for an exploding market. There are no doubts
that the combination of technologies, talents, expertise and resources will
bring spectacular results."
Geltech will continue to operate from its 23,000 square foot facility in
Orlando, Florida and its 12,000 square foot facility in Auburn, California as a
wholly owned subsidiary of LightPath. Geltech`s revenues, which totaled
approximately $7 million in 1999, have grown to $6 million through the first
seven months of 2000, primarily due to increasing telecom product orders
from two of its largest customers, one of which is New Focus, Inc. Geltech
has a total of 104 employees at its two facilities.
Geltech has developed or obtained the rights to an extensive portfolio of
intellectual property, including patents, licenses, trade secrets and
technological know how. In total, Geltech has 23 U.S. patents and 29 foreign
patents in the areas of Precision Molded Optics and Sol-Gel technologies.
Geltech also holds the exclusive rights to certain materials key to the
development of high precision molded optics. Corning Incorporated
developed the original process of molding a unique low melting temperature
glass. In 1994, Geltech acquired the laboratory scale process, key personnel
and equipment from Corning, and secured a perpetual license to all of
Corning`s intellectual property associated with the development of Precision
Molded Optics. Over the past year, key telecommunications applications for
active components have become a significant portion of Geltech`s business
with several of the world leading telecom companies as its largest customers.
In addition, Geltech recently launched the StableSil(R) line of diffractive
gratings and lens arrays specifically designed for Telecom applications.
"Geltech`s unique and proprietary replication process for all-glass gratings is
an exciting addition to our product lines as it presents a low-cost, highly
scalable alternative to the more environmentally sensitive grating products on
the market," said Todd Childress, Chief Financial Officer of Geltech.
According to RHK, 43% of the $3.3 billion DWDM multiplexer market is
expected to use gratings by 2003, as the migration to the metro area requires
higher channel counts and decreased spacing between channels but at lower
costs than currently offered by thin film filters.
The transaction will be accounted for using the purchase accounting method,
resulting in a significant amount of goodwill, which will be amortized over a
relatively short time period. Acquired in-process research and development
will be expensed at the time of the acquisition. These amounts will be
reflected beginning in the Company`s second fiscal quarter. Completion of the
transaction is subject to customary closing conditions.
LightPath manufacturers its proprietary collimator assemblies,
GRADIUM(R) glass products and other optical telecommunications
products at its headquarters in Albuquerque. The Company`s subsidiary,
Horizon Photonics, manufacturers isolator products utilizing its proprietary
automation technology in Walnut, California. LightPath also has an office in

has a total of 104 employees at its two facilities.

LightPath Technologies Introduces New Fiber Optic Switch at NFOEC
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Aug. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- LightPath Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: LPTH - news), manufacturer of families of high performance fiber-optic collimator and isolator products, introduced the LP1600 opto-mechanical switch at the National Fiber Optics Engineers Conference in Denver, Colorado today. The LP1600 is a 1xN optical switch, which is designed to route one incoming fiber into one-of-many output fibers. The current design allows customers to select custom configurations of 4 to 24 output channels, with future designs allowing up to 100 output channels. The Company is demonstrating the 1x8 switch at NFOEC.
The LP1600 optical switch employs a patented retro-reflecting mirror design in conjunction with LightPath`s ultra low-loss single mode fiber collimator, the GEN3. This combination has yielded a typical switching speed of 7.5 milliseconds between adjacent channels which is superior to any competitive product currently advertise in the market today. The LP1600 product provides a typical insertion loss level of 0.5 dB. Applications for this type of switch include component test and measurement systems, as well as monitoring, protection and restoration of fiber optic communication networks. Flexible configurations of the LP1600 including custom enclosures, interface and number of channels allow LightPath to tailor its 1xN switch to the specific needs of the telecommunications industry, industrial laboratory testing, and biomedical instrumentation.
Donald E. Lawson, CEO of LightPath, commented, ``Our first optical switch product release is a continuation of our strategic plan to bring additional component products into the telecom sector. With it we are also leveraging our automated platforms to reduce component cost by eliminating tedious and expensive alignment. The physical size reduction that we have achieved with this switch is another attractive attribute to system level products such as metro add/drop multiplexers.``
The Company will manufacture the switch at its Albuquerque location using its patented automated fiber fusion and active alignment processes. The switch products will be field tested over the next six months and a pilot manufacturing line is scheduled to commence operation by March 2001.
LightPath manufacturers its proprietary collimator assemblies, GRADIUM® glass products and other optical telecommunications products at its headquarters in Albuquerque. The Company`s subsidiary, Horizon Photonics, manufacturers isolator products utilizing its proprietary automation technology in Walnut, California. LightPath also has an office in Warren, New Jersey for the purpose of developing various optical switch products. The Company has 22 patents, plus 4 more pending, associated with its optical technologies. In addition, various foreign countries have issued a total of 8 patents with 9 patents pending. The Company also announced earlier this month that it had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire privately held Geltech, Inc., a leading manufacturer of precision molded aspherical optics and all-glass diffraction gratings. LightPath common stock trades on the Nasdaq National Market under the stock symbol LPTH.
This news release includes statements that may constitute forward-looking statements made pursuant to the safe harbor provisions of the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995. This information may involve risks and uncertainties that could cause actual results to differ materially from such forward-looking statements. Hallo zusammen!
