      Hallo JNICler,

ich denke es ist mal wieder soweit. JNIC is ready to run.

JNI Unveils ``FibreStars`` Channel Program in Fast-Growing European Market
      THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 07, 2000 3:19 AM
      - BusinessWire
MUNCHEN, Germany, Sep 7, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Stockage 2000-Paris Features Expansion of JNI`s Successful
Partner Program for Preferred Solutions Integrators and VARs

JNI(R) Corporation (Nasdaq:JNIC), the fastest-growing Fibre Channel host bus adapter (HBA) company in 1999, today announced plans to debut its FibreStars(TM) Channel Program in Europe, a comprehensive program for solutions integrators and resellers.

The program makes its debut at Stockage 2000, a premier European storage networking trade show held in Paris on Sept. 10-13. JNI will be exhibiting at Stockage 2000 in Stand n-A50.

The next few years will see explosive growth in the Fibre Channel market in Europe. According to the research firm Macarthur Stroud International, European sales of Fibre Channel-related products will total more than US$3.9 billion by 2004, up from US$204 million in 1999, a projected compound average annual growth rate of 80 percent.

The European launch of the FibreStars program is the next step in a comprehensive, multi-phase, worldwide channel program designed to significantly increase the availability of JNI Fibre Channel adapters to satisfy growing worldwide demand. According to Macarthur Stroud, JNI is one of the leading providers of Fibre Channel products in Europe. JNI launched the U.S. FibreStars program in April.

"As the SAN market grows extensively across EMEA, the requirement for strategic integrator/resellers is essential," said Andy Litherland, vice president of ACAL Fibre Channel Solutions. "Programs like JNI FibreStars will enable successful deployment of Fibre Channel and Storage Area Networking in Europe." ACAL Fibre Channel Solutions is the leading technical pan-European distributor in Storage Area Networks supporting the JNI FibreStars Reseller/Integrator program.

"We think JNI FibreStars program will be a great benefit to us and for our customers. We see the program as ideal for our needs," said Patrick Prud`homme, Synstar. Synstar is a SAN expert deploying Fibre Channel solutions in France. The company is a leading independent supplier of IT Services, providing end users with products, solutions and support. With a turnover of 2200 MF, Synstar is in most European countries and employs 2,700 people. The group addresses its customer IT services needs by offering Integration Services, Data Management, High Speed Networks, Business Continuity and Help Desk assistance.

JNI`s FibreStars program greatly amplifies an already strong commitment to its two-tier distribution channel. It recognizes the important roles solutions integrators and resellers play in the delivery of Fibre Channel and Storage Area Networks (SANs) to companies of all sizes. To ensure the success of the JNI FibreStars members, JNI provides the tools, support and motivation for the resellers to effectively sell and support JNI-based Fibre Channel solutions in their home market.

"FibreStars enhances our leadership role in the deployment of Fibre Channel connectivity products through the European channel," said Dietmar Schnabel, business manager for JNI`s European headquarters. "Matched with our world-class technical support, high reliability and broad connectivity on Solaris, Windows 2000/NT, Novell, Linux, and MacOS, JNI is the right choice for the solutions integrator."

      Das hört sich gut an.

      JNI HCA Modules

JNI offers three separate InfiniStar HCA modules for server clustering: the IBP-1x02 is a PCI, dual-port module that incorporates the Mellanox InfiniBridge ASIC and supports link speeds up to 2.5 Gb (1x) per port; the IBX-4x02i is a PCI-X, dual-port module based on the new IBM Microelectronics InfiniBlue ASIC and supports link speeds up to 10 Gb (4x) per port; the IBX-4x02m is also a 4x, dual-port, PCI-X module based on the new Mellanox Technologies InfiniHost ASIC.

InfiniBand HCA modules are similar to Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs) in that they enable the creation of scalable, extensible networks by sharing resources outside the host server. Server networks connected via the high-performance, low-latency InfiniBand interconnect are widely expected to compete with Symmetric Multi-Processor (SMP) systems for many compute and I/O intensive applications, such as High-Performance Computing Clusters (HPCC) and parallel database clusters.

JNI`s InfiniStar(TM) IBP-1x02 HCA Module is the first InfiniBand product to be incorporated into an OEM enterprise data center solution, the FAS900 series enterprise storage systems from Network Appliance.

Early access versions of the new 4x HCA modules are currently available for OEM evaluation and qualification. General availability of new modules is planned for the first quarter of 2003, including full InfiniBand protocol support for the Linux operating system.
