IBM, DSL.net Team to Deliver Faster, Easier Internet Access and Services for IBM Small Business WebConnections Customers

NEW HAVEN, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--August 22, 2000--IBM (NYSE: IBM) and DSL.net, Inc. (NASDAQ: DSLN), a direct national provider of high speed data communications and Internet solutions, today announced plans to enhance IBM`s flagship Small Business WebConnections offering by providing customers with more options and greater benefits, while expanding marketplace opportunities.

DSL.net will become a bandwidth provider to IBM, offering digital subscriber line (DSL) access and services to IBM`s small business customers. DSL.net provides a business-class DSL service that features a constant, high-performance connection to the Internet with guaranteed access speeds up to 25 times faster than dial-up.

Under the agreement with IBM, DSL.net`s reliable, "always-on" DSL service will be included as part of the IBM Small Business WebConnections solution in selected US markets. IBM Small Business WebConnections is a monthly subscription offering that provides all the necessary hardware, software, and ISP and e-business services a small business needs to connect to the Internet and become an e-business. It includes a local appliance server - the toaster-sized IBM Whistle InterJet -- for file sharing, e-mail, and firewall protection; a unique "dot.com" address for each customer, full business-class ISP service at high speeds, hosting and e-commerce. WebConnections includes Internet connections via analog, ISDN, or DSL. Everything is backed by 24x7 telephone technical support. Subscriptions to support up to 100 users start at a low $99 a month. The DSL packages start at $219.

The agreement also means IBM Small Business WebConnections users will benefit through access to DSL.net`s dedicated national 24 x 7 network operations center and private gateways to the Internet backbone, giving them faster and more reliable Internet access. The enhanced WebConnections solution will enable small businesses to be more productive, competitive and efficient, and allows them to deploy Web-based applications and other on-line services once available only to large corporations.

"DSL.net is pleased to partner with IBM to help small businesses grow into e-businesses," said David Struwas, president and chief executive officer of DSL.net. "DSL.net and IBM share a philosophy of providing complete, packaged technology solutions to small businesses, allowing them to exploit the Internet to maximum competitive advantage while at the same time reducing their IT and administrative burdens. Our broadband services are the perfect addition to the IBM Small Business WebConnections program, and allow IBM to offer a turn-key solution to the problem of fast, cost-effective Internet access for smaller businesses. This arrangement will expand the market opportunity for DSL.net," he said.

"DSL.net`s strong, fast bandwidth coverage in secondary cities will enable many more small businesses to take full advantage of IBM`s Small Business WebConnections service," said Mike Braun, general manager, IBM Global Small Business. "Together, we will provide small business customers with the most comprehensive and easy-to-use offering to help them better harness the opportunities the Internet offers." About DSL.net

      Klar,
      Klärchen,
      versteht sich von selbst.
Habe auf meine Frage hin keine Antwort erhalten.
      Was blieb mir da übrig??
Meine Entscheidung war eine klare Kaufentscheidung.
      Autonom sozusagen.
Niemand musste mich zwingen oder psychisch unter Druck
setzen. Ist das nicht mal ein Ding?
Weiterhin versuche ich entgegen der Erkenntnisse der
      prospect-theory respektive dem "Dispositionseffekt"
      zu handeln.

      Tja, was bedeutet das jetzt?

      Frohe Weihnachten!

Mal schauen wie es hier weitergeht.
Der Hype ist noch nicht ganz angekommen.
      Gruß Payline
