hallo olympionisti von der heimatfront. möchte eine kommunikation mit unseren
olympioniken anregen. geht simpel und macht spass bei realem bezug.

geht auf die seite, send fanmail. sucht olympioniken. oder geht auf liste von olym-
pioniken-homepages. tip, franzi ist noch nicht drin. habe gerade zur einstimmung
meinen ersten "feindkontakt" (kl scherz), aufgenommen. Thorsten Schmidt, Ruderer,
22jahre jung der mensch.

antwort: (engl) danke, mustername, daß sie eine fanmail geschickt haben. es wird
an die athletische surf-hütte (shack) im olympischen dorf (village) geschickt. es wird
eine großartige botschaft der unterstützung für Thorsten Schmidt, der in der lage sein
wird ihre botschaft zu lesen und möglicherweise zu beantworten.

eine großartige sache, die unseren sportlern auch plastisch die unterstützung ver-
deutlicht.

8 tage vor den spielen deutsche mannschaft schon erfolgreich (?).

im olympischen dorf, hat der exclusiv-tech-anbieter der OSpiele, IBM
eine sogenannte Surf-Hütte eingerichtet, wo die spieler mit der welt
eMails austauschen können und ihre eigene homepage reinstellen
können. www.fanmail.olympic.ibm.com. wo fans dem einzelnen
athleten eine grußbotschaft schicken können, dem ganzen O-Team
oder einem einzelnen verband oder disziplin. eine wunderbare ein-
richtung. schade daß armin harry, christine otto, witt, lauer nicht
mehr dabei sind.

habe schon dort jedem einzelnen teilnehmer eine grussadresse ge-
schickt (4 homepages). andere länder sind da erfolgreicher:

liesst!!!
wir spielen am 16.09. unser 1.spiel gegen neuseeland, weitere spiele:
suedafrika, holland, china. je nach plazierung gehts dann in die endrunde!

A new sport: Olympic Web surfing

SYDNEY -- Greetings from the Surf Shack
at the athletes` village here in Sydney. The
Shack is the computer haven athletes drop by
to build their own Web pages and design
personalized T-shirts based on their likes,
dislikes, hobbies and answers to a set of standard questions. The answers
range from touching to trite and from serious to zany, with a few we can`t
quite figure out. For the next two days, we`ll be sampling some of the
highlights from Web pages created at the Shack.

First, a few selected answers from U.S. athletes:

Sandra Bacher, judo: I started competing in the sport because ... "my little
brother started and I couldn`t let him get tougher than me."

Michael Bennett, boxing: I started competing in my sport ... "to stay in

Kibunde und seine acht Teamgefährten im Aufgebot für die Olympischen
Spiele in Sydney verpassten das Flugzeug und traten die Australien-Reise
erst mit einem Tag Verspätung an.
