The Davnet (DVT) briefing machine moved to S11`s Melbourne Wednesday after announcing NTT Communications Corp. increased its investment in Davnet`s Australian operation Tuesday with the option to roll that investment up into stock in the parent company at a later date. Davnet COO Hal Turner lead Wednesday`s briefing.

Davnet stock closed down 6% at $1.24 Wednesday as investors unloaded their telecommunications stocks. For those of you curious as to what a BLEC is: Building Local Exchange Carrier.

Key Points:

At the end of financial year 2001, Davnet hopes to have wired 348 buildings in 35 cities in Australia, North America and Asia. That figure represents 6% of the 5,800 buildings in those target cities. By that date all existing Davnet buildings should be EBITDA positive.
Nearly 79% of Davnet`s revenues are projected to come from Australia this financial year, that figure should fall to around 60% in three to five years.
Revenues for August were $6.7 million. Monthly burn is not more than $5 million and Davnet had $80 million cash on hand as of 30 June 2000.
Infra-red technology licensed from the Israelis is used less and less in maintaining redundant networks as the cost of fibre comes down.
NASDAQ listing is still on the cards.
If there was ever any dount that NTT and Davnet share a close relationship, NTT is now a reseller of Davnet`s services and NTT`s number 2 man world wide was in the Davnet offices while Wednesday`s briefing took place.

An affable Turner pointed out that while Davnet is a "global company" it does not want to be ubiquitous. The company`s sales strategy is to maximise earnings by targeting buildings in areas that have been marked for Davnet expansion.

When Davnet listed nearly two years ago, one of the big selling points was the technology that it had licensed - with the cost of fibre coming down over the last two years, the importance of that technology has decreased.

Turner singled out US BLECs Allied Riser and Cypress as its competitors but said Davnet`s capital expenditure per building is well under that of both US players.

By June next year Davnet will also offer voice services to customers. Open Telecommunications completed interconnect testing for the Davnet VoIP network earlier this year.Turner said this voice service will not be promoted heavily but offered as a "value added service" to customers.


Was hats gebracht. Tiefstkurs heute. Schon wochenlang nur gute News, die Aktie fällt nur von einem Tief zum Nächsten, mit teilweise steilen Anstiegen, die sich meist innerhalb weniger Tage noch tiefer erledigen.
So langsam fühl ich mich etwas verarscht, ihr etwa nicht ?

EIGENTLICH SOLLTE HEUTE DIE HV SEIN; ZUR BESTÄTIGUNG DER EIGENTLICH HERVORRAGENDEN FINANZZAHLEN. Kann aber sein, daß das erst am späten Nachmittag stattfand, kurz vor Börsenschluß, da der oben gepostete Artikel erst um halb vier nachmittags erschien.

Mal schauen, was morgen abgeht.

Kann sein. Gegen Nachmittag hat der Kurs im Xetra angezogen (reagiert
eh schneller auf so was). Erstaunlich finde ich, das nirgends etwas zu lesen ist, weder bei Yahoo oder XNase noch sonst wo.

Ich denke auch, daß wir heute nachmittag mehr wissen.
