Ja ORAD kaufen! Viel technologie fur Fernsehn und web !
Orad Reveals an Array of Technological Innovations at IBC 2000

Visit Orad at IBC Stand #2.240 (Hall 2)

      CYBERSET

The “Clickable Video” concept and other webcasting solutions: Television is making the move into Internet space, and more and more websites are using virtual sets for their productions. Orad is now offering a useful tool to bring the virtual set into the Internet enabling both cost savings as well as interactivity. The current interactive plug-in can be used for streaming of game shows, sports, news and weather programmes. Several pioneers such as AENTV (US), Skynet (HK), WSI (UK), and The Toronto Star (Canada) are leading the way by demonstrating how the virtual studio will be a natural tool for interactive webcasting. Next generation “Clickable Video” concept enables producers of content to provide users interactivity with specific objects within the video footage. Information about active clickable areas (hot spots) is embedded in the video and streamed over web (please see separate press release on ‘Clickable Video’). The same technology is used for Interactive TV.

CyberSet NT: Orad now offers the only full-featured NT based virtual set rendering live on off-the-shelf Windows NT workstations. This multi-camera 3D NT virtual set version is the most cost-effective solution on the market. CyberSet NT is integrated with Orad’s tracking modules and allows free camera motion. The system comprises all other virtual set features such as live video I/O, Depth Key, texture processing tools (for photo-realistic look) and more. It is simple and easy to use and configured as a plug-in to 3D Studio MAX. Within a short period Orad gained customers in Japan, USA, Italy and Germany using the NT virtual set live on air. Some of these customers include: the BBC, Brazil’s CNT, US’s MirageQuest and Indonesia’s RCIT.

Lava, 3D On-Air Graphics product: Orad is proud to announce its new 3D live-to-air graphics tool termed Lava using dozens of creative ready-to-go animation and graphic templates. It is available as the new animation authoring and control system of CyberSet as well as stand alone 3D live graphics and animation system. These new product offers the broadest variety of 3D effects and the most intuitive user interface on the market.

New Loader for Maya: This new feature enables the immediate usage of complex models and animations designed in Maya by CyberSet. It is fully compatible with the Maya 2.5. CyberSet virtual set systems also work with SoftImage, Alias Power Animator, Wavefront , 3D Studio Max and others.

MapSetTM: This new cutting-edge feature allows the user to preserve the exact qualities and attributes of the renderer in the authoring software, instead of using inaccurate and ‘cartoonish’ scenes that are hardware rendered in the host computer. This allows the user to obtain a photo-realistic look to his virtual set.

InfraTrack: Orad’s new proprietary tracking method which tracks a rigid array of targets attached to the studio camera. The system supports a complete 3600 shooting sector and unrestricted camera movement. The camera-mounted structure is compact and light, so that the camera can be shoulder-mounted or hand-held.

High video quality option - in order to improve the video insertion quality of CyberSet productions, Orad has developed new ways to insert the video into the graphical set without losing the quality of the video in the process. As a result the video insertion has higher resolution when presented in the graphic set.

CyberWeather and other packages - Orad has launched CyberWeather together with WSI that will enable customers to create a customized, high-tech, look for weather sets using WSI’s WEATHERproducer and Orad’s CyberSet system. In addition, broadcasters can choose a system version, templates, sets and technical assistance for special productions such as Election Night coverage, News Specials, or the Olympics.

      Sports Production System/IMadGINE

Orad’s real time tool for sports broadcasting enhancement now offers a range of improved features. New live/instant replay effects such as off-side, 10yds circle and virtual runner are now available. System versions have been developed for American football, track and field and other sports types. Orad has over 70 customers worldwide for its sports production systems including Sky Sports (UK), TV Globo (Brazil), CFL & TSN (Canada), IMAGICA (Japan), and Nine Network (Australia). Many leading international broadcasters will be using the system during the Sydney 2000 Olympics, among them are: USA’s NBC, Germany’s ARD, France2 and Australia’s Channel 7. CyberSport will be demonstrated live at Orad’s booth.
Recently, IMadGINE was chosen by the ATP’s Tennis Masters Series as well as the Canadian Football League and The Sports Network (TSN) to provide virtual advertising for their broadcasts.
      The new features are:

Integration of PSY and CyberSport - Since the acquisition of Getris, Orad has integrated PSY, Getris’s unique video graphics workstation, with CyberSport. The outcome will enable the display of the most compelling 3D graphics of statistics, scores and other information to be shown in field coordinates as well as video effects. PSY’s field coordinates graphics’ output will be fed to the CyberSport system showing it with chromakey feature.

4 video insertions: the DVP 200/240 can have up to 4 simultaneous video insertions. Up to now, the DVP 120 had one video insertion only. Each video insertion can come from a different source (NTSC, PAL, ITU-R601 YUV 4:2:2) and each is handled separately creating mipmap levels to preserve the highest broadcast quality of images.

DVP200/240: the new and improved DVP200 is 20% faster than the old DVP. It has up to 24 processors (compared to 8), up to 4 simultaneous video insertions, and up to 2GB texture memory. The DVP200 is only 4u high with 128MB texture memory.

Sensors over audio: with the new ASR (Audio Sensor Receiver), the sensor data coming from the camera can be sent to the CCU over the triax cable as an audio channel. The audio signal can then be extracted back to the sensors data and then sent to the system for processing. One ASR can handle up to f our cameras. The data from the ASR can be sent either on serial cable or via Ethernet.

New GUI: the new GUI will give CyberSport a new look. It will enable the user faster access to key features, use of text file, hot keys and many small utilities will no longer be necessary. The integrated application will have easy to use MMI as well as several applications such as drag & drop and mouse clicks.

Country Box - For the first time Orad has tested its system to enable insertion of graphics in remote locations. This multiple global signal transmission would enable to insert customized graphics according to the specific locations around the world. The system will be operated during the Olympic Games, transmitting signals from Sydney to Beijing.

      Sports Production System
SporTrack: Active real-time RF tracking and identification of multiple cooperative targets in real-time with high positional precision and with video refresh rate. System will have miniature ID tag - smaller than a credit card and lighter than 20 grams which identifies each target in its exact location. The system can produce broadcast enhancement features, for example: live highlighting, of a moving object like a specific horse, showing the distance between two constenants and displaying real-time are coverage maps, locations of kicks to goals etc. On the webcasting, system can provide live or delayed graphical simulation of real events, statistical analysis, unique databases and more.

Vtrack: Uses automatic video tracking to track football, tennis players, swimmers, etc. Like SporTrack, Vtrack allows the instant display of statistical functions like accumulated distances, locations of kicks to goal, players’ speed profiles, ball possession, etc.

      Immersive Sports webcasting
Orad’s new proprietary simulation technology allows interactive viewing of sports highlights. The 1st version is delayed and current development of real time tracking technologies will soon provide the user with real time interactive experience. A live application is available for horse webcasting. Orad’s new application provides LIVE 3D webcast with a unique on-line archive of tracking data.
