Activis Adopts Check Point¡¦s Provider-1 to Broaden Managed Security Services
      9/20/00 1:25:13 PM

RAMAT GAN, Israel, Sep 20, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced that Activis, a global provider of managed security services, will integrate Check Point¡¦s Provider-1(TM) into its extensive managed Internet security service offering.

The agreement enables Activis, part of the Articon-Integralis group, a European market leader in the IT security solutions sector, to provide its customers with the industry¡¦s leading security management solution designed to deliver scalable, multi-policy security management -- vital elements for eBusiness growth and profitability.

Today¡¦s announcement reflects a growing trend among service providers and telcos to incorporate solutions based on Check Point¡¦s Secure Virtual Network (SVN) architecture into their managed service offerings. Provider-1 is a key component of this unique architecture as it allows service providers and large enterprises to meet diverse and demanding requirements for large-scale VPNs/security.

"Activis¡¦ top priority is to meet the unique security requirements of our customers. As a global managed service provider, we opted for Check Point¡¦s Provider-1 because it offers an integrated and scaleable solution that can be managed centrally," John Cheney, general manager, Activis. "Check Point is the clear market leader and so the preferred platform for the majority of our customers."

As Activis already manages over 120 firewalls and VPNs worldwide, Provider-1 will enhance both manageability and scalability of each customer¡¦s network security deployment. In combination with Provider-1 at the Network Operation Center, Check Point¡¦s VPN-1 Appliance, developed in partnership with Nokia, will be deployed at customer locations hosted and managed by Activis to ensure secure VPN sessions and firewall protection for each customer.

"We are pleased that Activis has chosen to build its services around Check Point¡¦s Provider-1," said Limor Bakal, vice president of international sales and marketing at Check Point Software Technologies. "With Provider-1 and Check Point¡¦s VPN and firewall solutions, Activis can offer its customers comprehensive Internet security that meets the demands of today as well as the challenges of tomorrow."
