      Hallo Leute,
Man hört--bessergesagt liest viel.

      CMGI-Beteiligungen (Stand: 26.09.2000):

      Name *** Kürzel *** Unternehmenswert *** CMGI-Anteil *** Beteiligungswert

      Altavista ****** ALTA *** 5,000 Mrd. *** 83% *** 4,15 Mrd. $
      Critical Path *** CPTH *** 3,285 Mrd. *** 7,0% *** 0,23 Mrd. $
      Div. Inter V. *** DVIN *** 0,997 Mrd. *** 4,9% *** 0,05 Mrd. $
      Engage ******* ENGA *** 1,495 Mrd. *** 87% *** 1,30 Mrd. $
      Kana ******** KANA *** 2,968 Mrd. *** 5,4% *** 0,16 Mrd. $
      Lycos ******** LCOS *** 6,321 Mrd. *** 17% *** 1,07 Mrd. $
      MotherNature** MTHR *** 11,3 Mill. *** 11% *** peanuts
      Navisite ****** NAVI *** 2,727 Mrd. *** 80% *** 2,18 Mrd. $
      Netcentives *** NCNT *** 0,462 Mrd. *** 4,9% *** 0,02 Mrd. $
      Ventro ******* VNTR *** 0,519 Mrd. *** 8,5% *** 0,04 Mrd. $
      Vicinity ****** VCNT *** 0,379 Mrd. *** 32% *** 0,12 Mrd. $

      Beteiligungen, gesamt: 9,32 Mrd. $
      CMGI, Cash: 2 Mrd. $
      Beteiligungen & Cash: 11,32 Mrd. $

      CMGI-Wert am 11.08.2000: 10,758 Mrd. $

      1.) CMGion:

Novell Inc. (NasdaqNM:NOVL - news) and Sun Microsystems Inc. (NasdaqNM:SUNW - news) will each invest $20 million in CMGion. Novell also plans to provide a software platform that includes protocol, directory and caching services. Sun plans to provide appliance and server platforms and key operating system components.

CMGion will ``mine the flow`` of Internet traffic by profiling and delivering content and creating a system to support personal portals that are privacy-enabled and profile-driven, the Internet venture capital firm said in a statement about the new company.
CMGI Chairman and Chief Executive David Wetherell will serve interim chief executive of the new company, which will be based in Andover, Mass.
The new company will incorporate anonymous profiling technology from Engage Technologies Inc. (NasdaqNM:ENGA - news) and application hosting and management services from partners such as Internet application service provider NaviSite Inc.(NasdaqNM:NAVI - news).
One of CMGion`s primary roles will be to act as an ``infomediary`` between clients and servers, which represents an important role in the business-to-business Internet economy because it links content, consumers and information flow, CMGI said.
``Never before have users demanded so much refinement from a technology base that is commercially only five years old. The introduction of wireless Internet access, new forms of Internet access tools, and increasingly complex content such as voice and video, represent a new gauntlet for service providers to recognize and overcome,`` Wetherell said in a statement. ``We see CMGion as introducing a next generation solution to a current generation problem.

      2.) CMGI Solutions:

      - CMGI announces definitive agreement to acquire Tallan in a combined cash and stock transaction valued at approximately $920 million.
      - CMGI to integrate Tallan with the growing CMGI Solutions organization, accelerating CMGI Solutions` ability to deliver end-to-end e-Business solutions to Global 2000 corporations
      - CMGI Solutions will support the full array of CMGI related properties in its solutions as well as best-of-breed technologies and services from outside of the CMGI family.
      - Acquisition to grow CMGI Solutions` billable resources by 350%, enabling rapid time to market and deepened expertise in a variety of e-Business applications

      3.) Equilibrium:

Internet investment company CMGI said it will acquire Sausalito, Calif.-based Equilibrium in an effort to expedite content production throughout its network of Web holdings.
With the acquisition, which is expected to close in January 2000, Equilibrium will become a majority-owned CMGI operating company.
With Equilibrium, CMGI is looking to beef up it content delivery infrastructure throughout its network of Web sites. Equilibrium develops software that automates the way sites publish and update content.
"This acquisition will provide benefits to Equilibrium while offering state-of-the-art content infrastructure technologies to companies across the CMGI and @Ventures network," David Wetherell, chief executive of CMGI, said in a statement.
      4.) Ubid:
CMGI will use uBid’s auction service at several of its own properties, including business services firms CMGI Solutions and MyWay.com.
Internet incubator CMGI, which runs a network of more than 60 firms including AltaVista, will acquire auction site uBid in a deal valued at $407 million, the companies said today.
uBid (Nasdaq: UBID - news) runs auction sites for manufacturers including Sony, IBM, Hewlett-Packard Co. and Canon. CMGI (Nasdaq: CMGI - news) said it will use uBid`s auction service at several of its own properties, including business services firms CMGI Solutions and MyWay.com. CMGI will also use some of its marketing and advertising properties, such as Engage and yesmail.com, to help drive traffic and revenue at uBid.
"We believe there`s tremendous opportunity in applying (uBid`s) techniques to CMGI`s existing e-commerce companies, and in building aggressively to extend these technologies into the emerging B2B (business-to-business) marketplace through licensing and other channels," CMGI CEO David Wetherell said in a release.

      5.) ICast:

iCAST (http://www.icast.com/) is a multi-media rich, online entertainment company that champions self-publishing within a personalized, community oriented environment. iCAST.com empowers individuals with the tools to create, customize and share their personal entertainment passions. It will offer original, user-generated and syndicated audio and video content, entertainment news, features and interviews, live and archived events, and more. iCAST and the iCASTER, its downloadable media player, use Microsoft`s Windows Media as its preferred streaming media format.

CMGI, Inc. (Nasdaq:CMGI - news), the world`s largest and most diverse network of Internet companies, today announced it has acquired Green Witch, LLC (The Green Witch Internet Radio), the leading provider of open source Internet radio broadcast solutions. Green Witch Internet radio runs on Icecast, an innovative open source audio streaming server software used by Internet media companies and personal broadcasters to stream MP3 music. Green Witch will become part of iCAST.
The Icecast open source streaming media server will enable iCAST to offer a wide range of high-quality Internet radio streams to a broad audience of listeners. Icecast streams can be played by nearly any of the currently available media players, including Windows Media Player, Real G2, Sonique and WinAmp. Green Witch broke new ground in March 1999, when it became the first major Internet radio broadcaster to use Icecast software to stream MP3 music online. Green Witch`s current offering of music streams will be available for iCAST.com`s upcoming debut and is intended to be significantly expanded upon thereafter.
``Green Witch`s success as an open source software company and its dedication to empowering music listeners, musicians and broadcasters make it a perfect addition to iCAST,`` commented David Wetherell, chairman and CEO of CMGI. ``I`m thrilled to have such a visionary company joining the CMGI network and look forward to exploring the many future innovations possible with open source software.``
``We are very happy to become part of iCAST,`` said Patrick Mahoney, president of Green Witch. ``We realized that in order to grow Green Witch beyond its success as an Internet radio company, and to thrive in a traditional music space, we would need the marketing, capital, resources and Internet business expertise that very few companies could provide. We`ve felt all along that CMGI is the best company to work with, and that its experience developing early stage Internet companies will help catapult Green Witch toward our most ambitious goals.``
Icecast is an open source MP3 streaming server under the GNU General Public License (GNU GPL) that allows programmers to alter its code to better suit their particular needs, or improve the streaming audio sound quality for their audience. Green Witch shares its software innovations to Icecast freely with the open source community under the GNU GPL. Green Witch`s scalable, multi-processor Linux cluster, which allows a large number of songs to be efficiently prepared for Internet radio broadcasting, will allow iCAST to offer independent musicians an easy way to have their music heard online. iCAST and Green Witch will continue working with the open source programming community to develop new forms of high-quality streaming audio and video technology and to further advance the growth of free online music.

      6.) Primedia:

CMGI and PRIMEDIA Announce Strategic Alliance -- New Alliance to Include Equity Exchange Between the Two Companies

March 30, 2000-- David Wetherell, chairman and CEO of CMGI, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMGI - news) and Tom Rogers, chairman and CEO of PRIMEDIA (NYSE: PRM - news) today announced the formation of a strategic alliance that is intended to leverage each company`s respective expertise in Internet investment and development and deep vertical industry content to fund and develop a series of new Web ventures. As part of the alliance, CMGI will acquire approximately 5 percent of PRIMEDIA (8 million PRIMEDIA shares) in exchange for 1.53 million shares of CMGI.

PRIMEDIA Inc. is a targeted media company, reaching consumer and business-to-business audiences through print, Internet, live events, video and radio. Some key consumer brands include Seventeen, New York, Chicago, Fly Fisherman, Channel One Network, Horticulture, Modern Bride and American Baby and some key business-to-business brands include IntelliChoice, Telephony, Ward`s, PROMO, SIMBA and American Demographics. Some of its more than 200 Internet sites include Seventeen.com, Mediacentral.com, Apartmentguide.com and Modernbride.com

In addition to the initial share exchange, the new online companies, to be jointly created and funded by CMGI and PRIMEDIA, are expected to include participation from CMGI @Ventures, CMGI`s affiliated venture capital arm, and vertical-specific content and intellectual property investments from PRIMEDIA. In addition, it is intended that each vertical venture will access and leverage the growing stable of CMGI-related products and services including companies such as MyWay.com, Engage, 1stUp.com, and NaviSite to help drive traffic, fuel monetization and provide access and hosting capabilities.
Under the agreement, CMGI and PRIMEDIA will jointly identify key vertical areas, spanning both business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) categories, such as agribusiness, digital entertainment, electrical/construction and telecommunications, for these new companies. The B2B ventures will cover vertical online communities being developed by PRIMEDIA`s IndustryClick, the company`s B2B portal.
``For several months now, CMGI and PRIMEDIA have been crossing paths through our various operating and venture capital businesses, and I`ve come to appreciate the incredible array of vertical content assets within PRIMEDIA, both in the B2B and B2C spaces,`` said Wetherell. ``PRIMEDIA is a company from which an enormous amount of new media value can be created, and through the application of our Internet expertise and various network services I`m confident that both companies can reap tremendous benefits. Since joining last Fall, Tom Rogers has gotten the company off to a fast start as a new media player and I look forward to exploring additional ways for our companies to create value together in the future.``
``Dave Wetherell`s accomplishments with CMGI speak for themselves,`` said Rogers. ``CMGI`s combination of online operating expertise and investment skill provide a basis for a unique strategic collaboration between our two companies. I am confident that this relationship will be a great catalyst for PRIMEDIA`s growth. This is a wonderful validation of PRIMEDIA`s present asset base and our new media future for which we are very proud.``

Wetherell ist THE BEST!

EGAL!!!

CMGI: Creating net value!!!!!!!!! (Und dies nicht nur kurzfristig)

      Viele Grüße an alle CMGI-Bullen

      Hi grek,

Also viele Grüße an alle echten CMGI´ler

      Hi grek!
