Das sind doch heute klare Kaufkurse, jetzt lass ich alles langfristig liegen - denke das mitte Januar die Kurse spätestens anziehen, da die Fonds neu positionieren müssen.

habe gestern gehört, dass Millenium Forschnungsergebnisse zur Zulassung eines Medikamentes zur Vorlage bei der FDA gefälscht haben soll. Du weisst was das heisst?
Das kann das absolute AUS bedeuten. Das ist Betrug und sonst nichts. Es war einmal eine deutsche Firma aus München, die hat auch betrogen.

Ich würde short gehen oder nichts tun und nur von Weite beobachten. Trotzdem schöne Weihnachten

also ich finde nichts zu deinen angaben-selbst hier im board
unter millennium sind aktuell zwei positive berichte-und meine anderen quellen sagen darüber nichts-in welchem supermarkt hast du das bloss gehört *grins*

ich bleibe bei Millennium investiert und werde ggf. auch nachkaufen.

Mal ein paar Zeilen für SOM:
Die Kritik an der hohen Bewertung der biotechs wiederholt sich ja bei dir permanent. Ich würde dir auch recht geben sofern die Amis wirklich pleite sind, ansonsten ist meiner Meinung nach zu überlegen wer soviel Knete hat, um gewisse Werte wie mlnm auf 12 Milliarden$ Mkap. hoch zu halten, nämlich die fetten Pharmas, weils ihre Zukunft ist. Darüberhinaus sind biotechs momentan die einzige Branche mit Phantasie. Durchaus möglich daß mlnm nochmal bis auf 40 oder 45 sinkt, aber allen Langristanlegern sei gesagt, daß die großen biotechs momentan kaufenswert sind. Dazu zähle ich insbesondere mlnm, pdli, hgsi und vrtx. Am heimischen Markt finde ich allerdings nur eurofins und qiagen interessant.

NEW YORK/LONDON, Dec 20 (Reuters) - Flush with cash,
biotechnology firms next year are expected to step up research
spending, become involved in more acquisitions and demand more
favorable terms from big pharmaceutical companies that license
their products.
Spectacular sums of money were funneled into biotechnology
on both sides of the Atlantic in 2000, as investors embraced
the promise of drugs that might come from a better
understanding of the human genome, the body`s DNA blueprint.
European initial public offerings raised a record $2.2
billion for 27 biotech companies this year, while the total was
$6.1 billion for 61 U.S. firms, according to investment firm
Robertson Stephens.
Indeed, U.S. biotech firms have raised up to $35 billion
this year from all sources, including IPOs, venture capital and
other rounds of public and private financing, according to San
Francisco-based Burrill & Co., a private merchant bank.
"That`s over three times the previous record of $10.7
billion raised in 1999," said Steven Burrill, chief executive
of the bank, which caters to healthcare companies. "This
profusion of cash is dramatically enriching U.S. biotech
firms."
Burrill estimated that more than 100 U.S. companies have
more than $100 million in cash, which he said is probably two
to three times the number in 1999.
In Europe, "there are now 12 companies with over $100
million in cash -- a year ago there were only one or two," said
Sam Williams, London-based analyst with Robertson Stephens.

DEEPER POCKETS GIVE BIOTECHS MORE CLOUT
For the typical biotech firm, such a sum can finance at
least several years of expensive clinical research necessary to
test the effectiveness of compounds in its drug pipeline.
Several leading U.S. firms are sitting on cash hoards of
over $1 billion, thanks to this year`s monsoon of financings.
They include Human Genome Sciences Inc., gene-hunting
firm Millennium Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Celera
Genomics Group -- which made history this year by
completing its sequencing of the human genetic blueprint.
OSI Pharmaceuticals now has $485 million on hand
after it raised $430 million last month in a secondary public
stock offering and $56 million in a private financing in
February.
The company scored a coup in June by acquiring full rights
from Pfizer Inc., its longtime collaborator, to a
high-profile experimental drug against non-small lung cancer,
OSI-774, a feat made possible by its newfound financial
strength.
"We had the money from our February financing to develop
OSI-774. Otherwise, we might not have gotten the compound back
from Pfizer," said OSI spokeswoman Kathy Galante, who noted OSI
is now conducting its own Phase II trials of the medicine.
Biotech stock prices have soared in the past two years as
maturing firms like MedImmune Inc. and Immunex Corp.
have enjoyed stellar success with new drugs and other
companies have moved their experimental products closer to
market.
The American Stock Exchange Biotech Index <.BTK>, a key
gauge of the sector, which more than doubled last year, is up
another 60 percent for the year to date. By contrast, the
Nasdaq composite index -- dominated by high-tech companies --
is down about 40 percent this year amid a softening of the
economy and a rash of fourth-quarter earnings warnings from
information technology companies.
Old relations between big pharmaceutical companies and
biotechs have been turned on their head. Rather than biotechs
going hat-in-hand to the drug majors, they find themselves
being courted as never before by big firms reliant on biotech
to fill depleted pipelines.
But many cash-flush biotechs are holding out and not
signing deals with "big pharma" until completing mid-stage
trials of their experimental drugs, which can give hints of
their effectiveness. That way they can command higher royalty
rates from the bigger companies, or even an equal share of
profits from sales.

MORE MERGERS EXPECTED, INVESTMENT TO INCREASE
Although record sums were raised this year, Burrill
cautioned only one-third of the estimated 400 publicly traded
U.S. biotechs took part in the funding frenzy before financing
dried up in November as the Nasdaq entered a freefall.
Some of those left behind in the financing spree remain
short on cash and could be gobbled up by their richer brethren
in cash or stock deals, said Scott Morrison, a partner at the
accounting firm Ernst & Young.
Investment bankers predict more consolidation in 2001 as a
growing number of European companies strive to attain market
capitalizations of $1 billion, big enough, they hope, to secure
investor attention.
New-found wealth has given European biotechs confidence to
undertake a spate of deals, including cross-border tie-ups such
as German Evotec BioSystems AG`s acquisition of
Britain`s Oxford Assymetry and Shire Pharmaceuticals Group
Plc`s agreed $4 billion bid for BioChem Pharma Inc.
of Canada.
"A lot of biotechs will become predators next year. I think
we`ll see significantly more biotech-to-biotech mergers and
acquisitions," Morrison said, resulting in larger companies
with complementary suites of marketed products and pipelines of
experimental products.
Consolidation is most likely among firms that specialize in
genomics, the study of the structure and function of genes;
proteomics, the study of proteins; and bioinformatics, the use
of computers to fish out and interpret biological information,
he said.
"But the foremost use of all the money raised this year
will be to expand research and development, expand facilities
and build up sales forces," said Morrison, who noted that most
biotechs use their own stock instead of cash to make
acquisitions.
