Path 1 Enters Strategic Alliance With BarcoNet to Develop Video-on-Demand

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 20, 2001--Path 1 Network
Technologies Inc. (OTCBB:PNWK) (Frankfurt:PNT), a world leader in
digital video network solutions, Tuesday announced that it has entered
into a Product Development Agreement with Belgian-based BarcoNet nv
(Euronext:BARN) to develop a video gateway product designed to
facilitate distribution of on-demand entertainment video to the home.
This agreement establishes the framework for the BarcoNet-Path 1
team to play a vital role in the industry transition from traditional
communication networks to broadband networks that can offer digital
TV, video-on-demand and other eCommerce services.
"BarcoNet and Path 1 will jointly develop an IP gateway for
deployment in a new gigabit Ethernet platform," said Nick Fielibert,
senior vice president of BarcoNet. "New IP technologies are allowing
us to move higher quality video closer and closer to the home.
BarcoNet and Path 1 have designed products and systems that enhance
existing cable infrastructures and also take into account the
progression toward high-bandwidth IP into the home. Beginning in the
fall of this year, European cable subscribers in select cities will be
able to order and watch DVD quality movies whenever they choose. The
movies will be available in real time meaning that a user will not
have to wait for a portion of the movie to be downloaded into a server
before it can be watched. Making use of an IP architecture, the
BarcoNet solution will make it possible for operators to deploy VoD
services at significant lower investment cost as compared to current
VoD systems in use."
"The BarcoNet-Path 1 gateway is designed to allow up to ninety 3.3
megabit per second MPEG channels to route simultaneously through one
IP link," said Michael T. Elliott, Ph.D., president and CEO of Path 1.
"The unit is also designed to multiplex three or four independent
multiple program MPEG streams from a single IP stream. This should
allow for more flexible traffic routing, especially during peak demand
periods."
The alliance brings together BarcoNet`s customer base and
extensive client relations with Path 1`s technology and domain
expertise for transporting MPEG-2 video streams over IP networks.
BarcoNet offers an extensive product portfolio consisting of headend
products, backbone products, network management systems, digital TV
distribution products and Broadband Access products. Path 1 is
pioneering the transport of real-time multi-media over IP, using its
patented TrueCircuit(TM) technology and other intellectual property.
Under the agreement, BarcoNet will pay to Path 1 a non-recurring
engineering fee of US$1.7M to develop, test and deliver beta units to
BarcoNet over the next six months. BarcoNet will manufacture and sell
the product and Path 1 will receive a royalty on all units sold by
BarcoNet. Path 1 also reserves the right to manufacture its own
branded product as well as to purchase and resell the BarcoNet product
under the Path 1 label.
The BarcoNet-Path 1 relationship is intended to introduce Path 1`s
technology into the European market and is expected to support
BarcoNet`s expansion into the United States broadband market.

Who is Barconet N.V.?

Barconet is a Belgian public company, quoted on Euronext Brussels (stock symbol: BARN)

since November 13th, 2000.

Nix für ungut, aber meint Ihr nicht das 320 Einträge genug sind.Nicht jeder hat T-DSL und möchte sich die endlosen Ladezeiten antun. Also vielleicht sollten wir auf diesen Thread zurückgreifen und hoffen das während er läuft sich
e n d l i c h mal was tut das man mit dem Wort "Durchbruch"umschreiben könnte.
Verdient hätten wir es wohl allemal! Der heutige Einbruch(wie immer bei niedrigen Umsätzen-rätselhaft wer da die Hand im Spiel hat)passt zum Wetter.Liegt wohl auch daran das Path1 noch immer nichts Konkretes vorzuweisen hat ,trotz aller Verlautbarungen von Mr.Slansky,die dieser auf Anfragen vorbringt.Nun warten wir was der April bringt.Soweit ich mich erinnern kann wurde das Nasdaqlisting für diesen Monat erwartet.....

(falls du den Verdacht hast, jemand würde unten verschiedenen IDs posten, kannst du das von den Webmastern checken lassen, die entsprechende Software checkt auf gleiche (gespeicherte) IP-Adressen die gesammte Datenbank durch, auf die Art und Weise ist "Rotkäppchen" u. "herakLit" (der "falsche") gesperrt worden, nicht! weil sie anderen Meinung waren als ich (welch blödsinnige Behauptung), sondern schlichtweg, weil sie eindeutig ein und der selbe Poster waren!)

Entschuldige meine Schwäche ,oh Antarius.Leider fehlt mir die Zeit öfters im Board zu verweilen und mich mit Problemen solcher Art zu beschäftigen.Aber,sei versichert,

Path 1 Selects Interim Chief Executive Officer

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 5, 2001--Path 1 Network Technologies Inc. (OTCBB:PNWK - news; Frankfurt:PNT) Thursday announced that it has named Peter P. Savage as interim president and chief executive officer to replace Michael T. Elliott, who will continue as a consultant to Path 1 with his emphasis on developing strategic relationships for the company.

Savage was formerly the chairman, president and chief executive officer of Applied Digital Access (ADA), a private venture funded start-up company that he joined in November 1990. Savage took ADA public on NASDAQ in March 1994 as ``ADAX``. Dynatech Inc. acquired ADA in November 1999. Savage will also be assisting in Path 1`s search for a permanent chief executive officer.
