Nach dem heutigen selloff sind wir dann wohl in der Schlussphase des Salami-Crash. Es koennte jetzt noch mal kurz und heftig nach unten gehen, aber schnaeppchenjaeger sollten langsam wach werden:

Lab Equipment Makers` Shares Hurt

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Shares of lab equipment makers Waters Corp.
(NYSE:WAT - news) and Applied Biosystems Group (NYSE:ABI -
news), once seen as a safe way to play the biotech market, fell sharply on
Tuesday on rumors about product demand, analysts said.

Both Michael King of Robertson Stephens and Bruce Cranna of ABN
AMRO said concern by some investors about demand for mass
spectometry devices, which determine the chemical makeup of
compounds, pushed down the shares. The analysts added, however, that
there is nothing that indicates demand is falling at either company.

``People are concerned about a slowdown in the mass spec business,`` King said. ``We don`t think that`s a
legitimate concern.``

``There is no concrete information out there and a lot of rumors circulation,`` Cranna said. ``The whole
group is taking it on the chin today.``

Applied Biosystems Group (ABI.N) shares were down $6.17, or 13.4 percent, at $40 in afternoon New
York Stock Exchange (news - web sites) trading, while Waters fell $4.70, or 9.9 percent, to $42.80.

Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:A - news), which has some life sciences and health care operations,
was down $1.86, or 5 percent, at $35.13 on the NYSE.

King said the prospect of an interest rate cut from the Federal Reserve (news - web sites)`s policy
making committee should be helping these stocks, whose prices have inflated as biotechnology firms
raised record amounts of funds during 2000 to spend on new equipment.

Longer-term, these companies also stand to benefit from government spending at the National Institutes
of Health (news - web sites) and from companies in proteomics business, which involves analyzing
proteins.

While it may be logical to assume the lab equipment industry`s prospects are good, King said, ``We`re in a
bear market. Nothing seems to pass for logic these days.``

Waters spokesman Brian Mazar declined to comment on the company`s outlook, citing the Fair
Disclosure rule requiring companies to report market-sensitive information to all investors at the same
time. He did say the mass spectrometry business grew 40 percent last year at Waters.

Applied Biosystems officials were not immediately available for comment.

dementsprechend auch heute nicht !
Die Anleger werden bestimmt nicht deswegen wach
weil der nasdaq100 6,7% gefallen ist, das ist
schon zur Gewohnheit geworden.
Ich denke eher, daß in einigen Wochen/Monaten
mehr und mehr Leute über Fundamentales nachdenken
werden. Aber ein Sell-Off, also ein Kurssturz,
der alle wachrüttelt, den gab es noch nicht; eher
die schleichende Erkenntnis, daß es nicht ewig so
weitergehen kann (kurz gesagt).

Da viele Anleger noch keinen richtigen Nachfrageeinbruch erlebt haben, kann
sich auch keiner vorstellen, wie weit die Kurse deshalb noch fallen können.

In Aktien bist Du ja sicher nicht investiert. Wirst wohl langsam ungeduldig, daß immer noch kein Sell-off(so ein Unsinn, der Sell-off findet seit Monaten statt) den Rest
noch hinwegspült?
Oder mußt Du Deine Puts hochtreiben?
