Auf dem Handy spielt die Musik

"Aus zwei mach eins" lautet die Devise für den neuen MP3-Player von Siemens. Der ist nämlich kein eigenständiges Produkt, sondern eine Erweiterung für die Handys des Unternehmens. Das etwa 20 Gramm leichte Gerät ist sowohl mit den Siemens-Mobiltelefonen M35i, C35i und S35i als auch mit zukünftigen Modellen kompatibel. Auf den Player lassen sich vom PC über eine USB-Schnittstelle Songs in CD-Qualität herunterladen. Gespeichert werden die Lieder auf austauschbaren "MultiMedia-Cards". Für das Herunterladen von 30 Minuten Musik (32 Megabyte) benötigt der MP3-Player nach Herstellerangaben fünf Minuten.
Doch das Zusatzgerät soll noch mehr können als Musik abspielen: Durch ein eingebautes Mikrophon ist es gleichzeitig eine Freisprechanlage fürs Handy. Wird der Besitzer angerufen, braucht er nur die "Push-to-Talk"-Taste drücken. Dann stoppt die Musik und er kann direkt über die Kopfhörer-Freisprecheinrichtung telefonieren. Positiv: Der Musikgenuss soll nur wenig an dem Akku des Handys zehren: Eine halbe Stunde Abspielzeit reduziert die Standby-Zeit um etwa zehn Prozent.

Spatializer Natural Headphone is the ideal solution for all headphone applications. The 5.1 channel surround sound down-mixing algorithm provides natural quality sound effects over headphones. A well-defined center image allows for crystal clear presentation of dialogue, while the other surround channels immerse the listener in a three dimensional audio experience. The algorithm is also available as a 2-channel solution for enhanced stereo listening. A key attribute of Spatializer Natural Headphone is its extremely low overhead requirement for MIPS and memory. Extensive modeling of both Head Related Transfer Functions (HRTF) and room reverberation provide a low cost solution that is both effective and innovative.

One innovative feature is Spatializer Virtual LFE(TM) (Low Frequency Effects), which creates the impression of subwoofer frequencies that are usually lower than the minimum frequency response capability of most headphones. CD- und MP3-Player in einem

Über 20 Stunden Musik im komprimierten Format passen auf eine CD, dagegen sehen die meisten portablen MP3-Player mit ihrer Speicherkapazität von rund einer Stunde ziemlich alt aus. Warum also nicht einen MP3- mit einem CD-Player kreuzen, dachte sich die Firma TerraTec und entwarf den M3PO go.
Er sieht nicht nur aus wie ein normaler CD-Player, er ist auch einer - mit dem einzigen Unterschied, dass er MP3-Dateien lesen kann. Das Abspielgerät soll sich nach Herstellerangaben außerdem durch seine Robustheit und den 50-Sekunden-Antischock-Speicher auszeichnen, wodurch ungestörter Hörgenuss gewährleistet wird. Mobile Unterhaltung

Eine neue Ära der Unterhaltung einleiten will Sharp mit seinem Internet Content Player SD Collie-1. Das kleine Wundergerät kann nicht nur MPEG-4-Movies und MP3-Musikdateien abspielen, sondern besitzt auch eine E-Mail-Funktion und einen Internet-Browser.

Die Filme und Web-Seiten werden auf einem 3,5 Zoll großen TFT-Bildschirm dargestellt, der sogar mit dem Umgebungslicht auskommen kann und dadurch wenig Batterieleistung benötigt. Musik oder andere Dateien im digitalen Format speichert der tragbare MP3-Player SV-SD75 auf einer SD Memory Card mit einer Speicherkapazität von 64 MB.
