      FONIX® FILES DECEMBER 31, 2000 ANNUAL REPORT

Company Emerges From "Development Stage" Fonix Opens Sales and Marketing Office in Seoul, South Korea
SALT LAKE CITY, UT (April 2, 2001) - Fonix® Corporation (OTC BB: FONX) today announced financial results for the year ended December 31, 2000. "Our operating results for 2000 reflect our commitment to the marketing and sales efforts initiated in 1999," said Thomas A. Murdock, Chairman and CEO.

Revenues from multiple license fees and product sales were $656,853 for the year ended December 31, 2000, compared to $439,507, a 49% increase over the year ended December 31, 1999. Cash generated from contracts in 2000 was $1,206,075, a 120% increase over 1999. In addition, the Company recently received the $2 million that had been held in escrow in connection with the sale of the HealthCare Solutions Group to Lernout & Hauspie in September 1999.

As a result of the increases in revenues and the recurring nature of these revenues, the Company emerged from the development stage as of December 31, 2000.

Increased revenues and cash flows from operating activities in 2000 indicate the continuing growth of Fonix in its overall transition from its research and development focus to sales and marketing activities. Fonix speech technologies are readily distributed through the proprietary FAASTâ (Fonix Accelerated Application Solutions Technologies) framework. "We are finding increased interest in our FAAST development framework among OEM and IVR channel partners, and software and application developers who speech-enable applications in call centers and voice portals, mobile hand-held computing devices, automotive telematics, cell and smart phones, and consumer electronic devices such as the Panasonic 2.4 GHZ GigaRange® Elite Cordless Telephone," explained Mr. Murdock. "Our focused sales and marketing efforts will continue to emphasize the advantages of FAAST in both the server-based and embedded markets."

To expand and accelerate sales revenue, the Company has recently initiated a technology and marketing collaboration agreement with Audium (formerly Phone2Networks) to integrate FAAST with VoiceXML applications. Additionally, Fonix has opened a sales and marketing office in Seoul, South Korea. "With the dynamic use of FAAST in call center applications, in English as a second language learning environments, and in mobile computing devices through our embedded solutions, we expect revenue growth in the Asian markets. Seoul, South Korea, is our initial strategic launch," said Mr. Murdock. "Dr. Kyungho Loken-Kim, Vice President, Asia, has worked effectively over the past 12 months to establish the Fonix brand name, to prepare the Korean market for Fonix products, and to establish relationships with key Korean OEM and channel partners. We look forward to begin delivering our products and solutions in the Korean market in the next 30 days."

"We are pleased with our continued progress toward meeting our strategic financial objectives by decreasing our cash burn rate from operating activities. Net cash used in operating activities decreased from $20.5 million in 1999 to $12.4 million in 2000," said Roger D. Dudley, Executive Vice President and CFO. "We continue to see the effects of our successful restructuring of the Company`s sales, marketing, and product development activities. The company supports its sales and marketing growth with a blend of cash receipts and draws against an equity line of credit. We expect our revenue and cash receipts to cover the Company`s operating expenses sufficiently to reduce the need to draw on our equity line," explained Mr. Dudley.

Fonix reported a net loss of $22.8 million ($0.16 per common share) for 2000, compared to a net loss of $21.7 million ($0. 31 per common share) for 1999. Cash used in operating activities was $12.4 million for 2000 compared with $20.5 for 1999, an improvement of $8.1 million. The net loss for 1999 included charges of $2.2 million ($0.03 per common share) related to the discontinued operations of the Company`s HealthCare Solutions Group. Losses from operations amounted to $18.9 million for 2000, decreasing from $19.6 million for 1999. The decrease is a result of the restructuring of sales, marketing, and product development activities.

Fonix Brings Voice Interaction to Mobile & Wireless Devices; Unveils FAAST 1.0 for Windows CE to Support Embedded Applications
Fonix Corporation, a leading provider of human-user interface technology solutions for wireless and mobile devices, Internet and telephony systems, and vehicle telematics, announced today the commercial release of the FAAST (Fonix Accelerated Application Solutions Technology) 1.0 Software Development Kit (SDK) and speech framework, for the Microsoft Windows CE operating system.
Fonix`s FAAST SDK enables developers to easily and rapidly build voice interactivity into their products using the popular Windows CE platform upon which many handheld, mobile and wireless devices are built. In addition, with this release, Fonix also announced its support for the Windows-powered Pocket PC. Fonix is working closely with manufacturers of Pocket PC-powered devices to provide the necessary development framework, tools and technologies that will bring full voice interactivity and navigation to their products.

Fonix has successfully demonstrated voice-in and voice-out proof-of-concept applications, including a continuous speech digit dialer, PDA command navigator, and an MP3 command navigator, on a variety of Windows CE and Pocket PC-based devices including the Compaq iPAQ (running on the Intel StrongARM SA-1110 processor), the Casio Cassiopeia(on a MIPS-based processor), and the Hewlett Packard Jornada (on the Hitachi SH3 processor).

"Windows CE is rapidly gaining market share with companies manufacturing mobile and wireless handheld devices," said Thomas A. Murdock, Fonix Chairman and CEO. "This release of FAAST for Windows CE will allow these manufacturers to cut development costs, decrease time to market and vastly improve device interface and functionality. Through Fonix, embedded voice is ready for prime-time today."

Windows CE is the latest in a series of operating systems supported by Fonix Automatic Speech Recognition and Text-to-Speech technology. Other supported operating systems include Windows 95, 98, 2000 and NT, as well as the recent release of FAAST for Linux. Targeted Windows CE applications for FAAST include automotive telematics, smart phone operating systems, PDA command and control, and vertical market industrial applications.

Fonix became a founding member of the Microsoft Embedded Tools Partners group late in 1999 and continues today as the only speech recognition and text-to-speech company in the program.

Fonix FAAST allows developers to rapidly build Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) and Text-to-Speech (TTS) command and control applications and download the program to a target platform. The noise immune applications use a far field microphone and contain Fonix human quality TTS that provides user prompts and command confirmation. (Source: Widget Software)

      EMAIL RESPONSE FROM FONIX...
      Jason,
In all due respect, please slow down and take a deep breath!!

There has been no change in Fonix`s relationship with Microsoft.
Microsoft continues to pursue speech opportunities for specific server based applications (with no footprint constraint) just as they do for mobile/embedded applications (where Fonix is focused). They also encourage every speech company to become SAPI compliant. To date, Microsoft has not selected any company as a general speech partner or executed a general license for ASR or TTS.

Fonix has been SAPI compliant for several months and has announced a business distribution agreement with Microsoft for the Stinger Smart Phone operating system, and we continue our vigorous work toward additional business with other product areas at Microsoft. We remain highly competitive at Microsoft in our areas of focus in embedded ASR and TTS and expect our relationship to strengthen.
      Sincerely,

EMAIL Antwort VON FONIX.., Jason, in allem passenden Respekt,

TheSUBWAY.com Announces Investment Opinions on Clements Golden Phoenix Enterprises Inc., Fonix Corp., eCom eCom.com, eConnect Inc. and Mail.com
      Jump to first matched term

WESTON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ap. 06, 2001--Clements Golden Phoenix (OTCBB: CPHX) Citrus Sales signs yet another new contract with a major distributor in the Philippines. The initial order of 48,000 cans of frozen orange juice, which is approximately $50,000 is just the beginning with additional orders coming soon. This is the first shipment ever into the Pacific Rim area for Clements. The Philippines market size for frozen juices is in the multi millions. Clements is shipping product into other multi million-dollar markets such as China, Japan and the United States as a result of signed contracts.

Clements is also constantly name-branding products for customers worldwide. Clements is definitely headed in the right direction in becoming a dominant distributor of frozen juices and fruits worldwide. Clements was one of the first companies coveted by the Chinese for shipping into their country. The yearly high for the stock has been around $4.00 per share. Currently trading around $1.00, we consider this stock to be very undervalued.

After TheSUBWAY.com`s opinion on Fonix Corp. (OTCBB: FONX) yesterday, Shares of Fonix were up over 34% on another day of high volume for the company. Microsoft has proclaimed Fonix TimeTalk by Fonix Corp. for PocketPC, a software utility for PDAs that utilizes Fonix Customized Text-To-Speech to speak the time of day, "one of the most unique and technologically advanced applications available" on the PC market.

CRG expects more from Fonix, and we are watching for more news to come. With Fonix TimeTalk for PocketPC, PocketPC owners can empower their handheld devices to read the time of day aloud in a completely natural and pleasing female voice. Time announcements can be activated with the push of a button or programmed to announce the hour, half hour, or quarter hour intervals. CRG will be keeping a close eye on this stock for other future developments.

eCom eCom.com (OTCBB: ECEC) was up over 100% today and over 500% for the past week on record volume. eCom eCom.com has not released news since Jauary 5th stating that they represent technology that far exceeds the market.

eCom eCom.com can now help corporations get the most out of their bandwidth through its unique Dry Ice compression software. Based on a patented process, it is capable of reducing images dramatically while preserving the integrity of the original image during the compression and viewing process. This process allows the user to perform infinite in/out zooms while compressed without distortion.

Yesterday eConnect Caribbean, S. A., a subsidiary of eConnect (OTCBB: ECNC ), announced that it had elaborated on its previously announced participation in the launch of Project 999 in the current quarter. Project 999 describes a low-cost package of hardware and software, including eConnect`s eCashPad, to be marketed by Banco Nacional de Credito, S. A. and Enelpunto.net, a web portal, to computer store vendors. This marketing plan foresees stimulating e-commerce and general Internet access in Latin America, beginning with the Dominican Republic.

Paul Egan, CEO and president of eConnect Caribbean, S. A., said, "This is the first of many projects with our strategic partners, Banco Nacional de Credito and Enelpunto.net, that we plan to implement in 2001. We hope for sales of 30,000 eCashPads, which would yield revenue of approximately US$1.8 million and a profit of approximately US $262,500.00, based on terms of our sales contract. The stock was down nearly 11% yesterday on high volume but CRG feels that eConnect has developed a well revised plan for success and has good potential.

"Apprehension about slowing economic growth and the effect it is having on corporate earnings continues to be the overriding theme in the financial markets. Looking back, it is difficult to believe that just one year ago, the U.S. economy was forging ahead with the vigor of a raging bull, and doing so with only a hint of inflationary pressures. It is equally difficult to imagine that the Federal Reserve, in an effort to fight this "phantom inflation," in essence, brought the racing U.S. economy to its knees, and brought the country dangerously close to a recession." Stated Peter Antipatis. More is available at http://www.thesubway.com.

"Without the details on the server used for the Conversa TTS, it is very difficult to say for certain that this is an apples to apples comparison. Our numbers are on a high end machine that would be used for a server. I would have to assume they would not be quoting numbers from a old, slow server."

Also...this is for TTS....what is the channels per server for ASR...

And if this is correct, then I would assume Fonix tech is
      much much much more cost-effective.

Just trying to make a comparison...Thanks Michelle
