Wer könnte Pixtech übernehmen? Welches Unternehmen hätte Interesse daran das Know How von Pixtech zu nutzen?
Bitte um Meinungen!

@ imax

Also machts gut

PixTech expects to begin shipments for these new orders of 1,000 displays each during the second quarter of 2001. monochrome FED development has been completed and the product responsibility has been transferred to the manufacturing organization. The original 5.2-inch monochrome M1 product used in medical devices such as defibrillators is now accompanied by the G1 series, the gray scale video version of the M1 that is being well-received by customers in the medical and instrumentation market segments.
Dieter Mezger, president and chief executive officer, commented, ``Now that we have shifted our monochrome product to the full production phase, all our research and development efforts and resources are focused on our 7-inch color product. It has always been our strategy to use the monochrome product to prove production viability of FEDs. However, we know a much larger market opportunity is with color displays. We expect to deliver a 7-inch prototype color display to Audi by the end of June.``
PixTech announced promotions of two key members of its management team in order to capitalize on its growth opportunity and to reflect the change in the company`s focus to color development. Effective immediately, Michel Garcia, formerly CTO, has been promoted to VP Worldwide R&D and Don Crim, formerly VP Manufacturing, Taiwan, has been promoted to VP Worldwide Manufacturing. Both positions will report to President and CEO, Dieter Mezger.

PixTech Demonstrates 7-Inch Color FED
Pilot Line Production Quantities in 2001 and Volume Production in 2002
SANTA CLARA, Calif. & ROUSSET, France--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 25, 2001--PixTech, Inc. (Nasdaq:PIXT - news; EASDAQ:PIXT) today announced
the successful demonstration of its 7-inch color field emission display at the USDC Investor Conference in New York.
Dieter Mezger, President and Chief Executive Officer, stated, ``The public demonstration of the 7-inch color display is a significant milestone for PixTech. We
believe there is a large market potential for color FEDs, especially in the fast developing area of automotive navigation and entertainment applications. The 7-inch
color FED display has medium to high anode voltage, a 16:9 aspect ratio, a color resolution of 480 x 234 and is designed for manufacturability. We anticipate more
pilot production quantities in 2001 and volume production beginning in 2002.``
The 7-inch color FED development is partly funded from an Information Society Technologies program of the European Commission, as announced with a press
release in January 2000. Partners in this program are Audi, XSYS, Leti and SAES. We expect to deliver 7-inch color display samples to Audi by the end of June.

Kommt Produktion, kommt Gewinn , steigt Kurs usw. !
d.h der Kurs kann schnell anziehen !

Hier der c`t-Artikel:
Superflaches CRT-Farbdisplay

So

Was hast du denn erwartet?

Project Acronym: DEPODIS
Title: Deposition Equipment for Flat Panel Display Fabrication
Subject Index : Information Processing, Information Systems; Innovation, Technology Transfer
Objective: The objective of the project is to assess a new prototype of plasma deposition machine and the related processes to deposit thin films needed for the fabrication of Flat Panel Displays.
The benefits are:
- Improved silicon dioxide on polycristalline silicon transistors by increasing the deposition temperature
- Improved insulators and ballast layers for Field Emission Displays
- Equipment compatibility for amorphous, polysilicon and Field Emission Displays.
These benefits will be achieved by assessing the UNAXIS equipment by two users THALES AVIONICS LCD and PIXTECH.
This project belongs to the key action IV.6.3 : Assessments actions in display manufacturing and will contribute to the SEA activity cluster.
Objectives:
The objective of the project is to assess a new type of plasma deposition equipment and the Related fabrication processes to deposit thin films needed for the fabrication of Flat Panel Displays by improving film homogeneity, exploring and optimising the base gas mixtures, and increasing the temperature range of deposition.
The expected advantages are:
1. To demonstrate polycristaline silicon transistors with lower flat band voltage (less than 1V) compatible with CMOS design and manufacturing of poly-Si AMLCDs (increase of the temperature is a key parametrer)
2. To deposit insulator and ballast layers for FED fabrication
3. To disseminate and exploit the production capability of the equipment to produce amorphous and polycristaline silicon for AMLCD and FED mass production
Work description:
THALES AVIONICS LCD will acquire the UNAXIS equipment and install it in their clean rooms, and assess it by the fabrication of silicon dioxide test plates to control the equipment performances like throughput and the material properties (e.g. flat band voltage) and defect density.
THALES AVIONICS LCD will also do:
- The fabrication of test vehicles including transistors, drivers and matrices to demonstrate the capability of the equipment for polysilicon AMLCD manufacturing.
- The fabrication of amorphous silicon AMLCDs with silicon dioxide storage capacitor layer.
PIXTECH will assess the quality of the insulator layers (both silicon nitride and silicon dioxide) and of the ballast layer (amorphous silicon-like) which are used in Field Emission Display manufacturing.
PIXTECH will also assess the quality of these materials by the fabrication of test vehicles and Field Emission Display demonstrators.
UNAXIS will participate to the installation of the equipment, special maintenance and optimisation of the equipment during the project at THALES AVIONICS LCD. It will contribute process optimisations at their R&D centre, in particular before the final installation of the equipment (preshipment test).
UNAXIS will transfer the technology validated at the beginning of the project in a production demonstration machine in Asia.
Dissemination of the results: all the partners will contribute to the following tasks:

PixTech Delivers Displays for Audi Evaluation -- European Commission IST FED Development --
SANTA CLARA, Calif. & ROUSSET, France--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 3, 2001--PixTech, Inc. (Nasdaq:PIXT - news; EASDAQ:PIXT) today announced the delivery of field emission displays to be evaluated by Audi under the European Commission IST development program. The displays delivered are 7-inch full color field emission displays with a 480 x 240 resolution and a brightness of 500 cd/m2.
This delivery is part of a European Commission IST Program announced by PixTech in January of 2000. Under the terms of the program, PixTech is receiving funding from the European Commission of approximately 1.8 million EUR to design and develop the field emission displays. Audi will perform the testing and evaluation of the displays.
Ron Ritchie, president and CEO of PixTech, stated, ``While developing the Audi displays, our team achieved new FED quality standards. We expect that our involvement in this EC IST development program will enable us to introduce field emission displays into the automotive market for navigation and entertainment applications.``
Bernhard Senner, Audi project leader, commented, ``PixTech`s development effort is to be commended. The team has quickly advanced the concept of FED technology for use in automotive applications from the design stage to the evaluation phase. We look forward to assessing these final evaluation units and cooperating with PixTech in the future.``
Partners of the 3 million EUR European Commission IST funded project include PixTech, Audi, XSYS, LETI, and SAES Getters. PixTech is responsible for the development and manufacturing of the field emission displays. Audi, a subsidiary of Volkswagen, is responsible for testing and evaluation. XSYS, a subsidiary of Harman International, is responsible for systems integration. LETI (Laboratoire d`Electonique de Technologie de l`Information), the research arm of CEA (Commissariat a l`Energie Atomique -- the French atomic agency), is responsible for special tasks and SAES Getter, a world leader in getters, is optimizing getter materials for FEDs.
