(Aber bitte nicht sell on good news)

Jun 05, 2001 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- In an announcement made simultaneously at BVision2001, the fifth annual BroadVision International User`s Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada and the JavaOne Conference in San Francisco, California, BroadVision, Inc. (Nasdaq: BVSN), a leading supplier of personalised e-business applications, today announced an expanded alliance with IBM, initially formed on September 8, 2000. Achievements from the first phase of the BroadVision /IBM relationship include the availability of Java2’ Enterprise Edition (J2EE)-enabled BroadVision One-To-One Enterprise 6.0 for IBM`s AIX operating system and support for the DB2 Universal Database with the suite of BroadVision applications for AIX and DB2 available in the coming months. Given the success of the relationship, two companies have expanded the scope of the alliance to include integration of IBM`s WebSphere Application Server and J2EE-based WebSphere’ MQ with BroadVision`s industry-leading e-business application platform.
BroadVision and IBM are working together to enhance the interoperability, openness, and scalability of their solutions and advancing the adoption of J2EE. By making BroadVision`s J2EE-enabled application platform, BroadVision One-To-One Enterprise 6.0, fully interoperable with IBM WebSphere and J2EE-based WebSphere MQ message queuing solution, IBM and BroadVision will deliver one of the most scalable, open standards-based e-business solutions available.
In addition to the completion of several key integration projects, IBM and BroadVision are co-operating to bring complete solutions to customers. IBM Global Services has established a consulting practice of BroadVision-trained professionals to help customers around the world implement BroadVision e-business solutions on IBM platforms and software. BroadVision and IBM work together to solve any implementation or support-related issues. This approach enables joint customers to choose a single world-class vendor for e-infrastructure servers, middleware, and services for their BroadVision e-business solutions.
"IBM products form a superb foundation for BroadVision solutions. The combination of BroadVision and IBM provides great scalability, high-availability and an excellent price/performance ratio," said Roger Goulart, senior vice president and general manager, strategic alliances for BroadVision. "IBM servers and middleware are a natural choice for BroadVision customers as they migrate to BroadVision One-To-One Enterprise 6.0 and a standards-based e-infrastructure."
"With the strong collaboration between IBM and BroadVision, more and more customers are selecting popular BroadVision solutions for their IBM e-business environment," said Mike Borman, vice president of Worldwide Web Server Sales at IBM. "For customers choosing BroadVision solutions for their e-business environments, the expanded alliance provides one-stop shopping."
