Met@box AG: Correction of false reports regarding alleged insolvency
Hildesheim, June 22nd 2001. The local court in Hildesheim has not opened insolvency proceedings yet against the set top box manufacturer Met@box AG (MBX), contrary to numerous false reports which worried banks and shareholders recently. The Executive Board merely filed for insolvency.
On Friday, the initiator of the false reports, the "e;Wertpapiermitteilungen"e;, published by WM-data, justified to their clients, amongst others the Deutsche Börse AG: "e;The first release opened with the headline "e;Trade register entry : Insolvency opened. "e; That"e;s factually wrong and resulted from the failure to comply to a new code. The insolvency wasn"e;t opened, the insolvency was merely applied for. Please heed this notice."e;
Due to the false reports Deutsche Börse AG and numerous other financial institutions sent remarks in their charts, depots-rendered, and in the correspondence to the clients, so that the shareholders became very worried. The remark "e;i.K."e; will also be removed as part of the corrections of the "e;Wertpapiermitteilungen"e;.
