Rick`s Cabaret Reports Earnings For Fiscal Second Quarter
Revenues up 90%
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 15, 2001--Rick`s Cabaret International Inc. (Nasdaq:RICK - news), the Houston-based adult Internet content provider and entertainment chain, announced today that net income for the most recent quarter was $158,000, or 4 cents per share basic, compared to a loss of $113,000, or 3 cents per share basic in the same quarter a year ago, increasing net earnings to 15 cents per share for the trailing 12 months. Revenues for the fiscal second quarter ended March 31, 2001, increased by 90% to $5.4 million from $2.8 million in the same quarter of the previous year.
The Company reported its fourth consecutive profitable quarter. Commented Eric Langan, president and CEO, ``Since assuming control in March 1999, I have adopted a mission to create and build shareholder value. Management has implemented strategies to obtain consistent, sustainable and profitable growth in revenues and has generated positive cash flow by providing premium quality adult entertainment that creates value for the customers.``

Rick`s Cabaret Reports Earnings For Fiscal Second Quarter
Revenues up 90%
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 15, 2001--Rick`s Cabaret International Inc. (Nasdaq:RICK - news), the Houston-based adult Internet content provider and entertainment chain, announced today that net income for the most recent quarter was $158,000, or 4 cents per share basic, compared to a loss of $113,000, or 3 cents per share basic in the same quarter a year ago, increasing net earnings to 15 cents per share for the trailing 12 months. Revenues for the fiscal second quarter ended March 31, 2001, increased by 90% to $5.4 million from $2.8 million in the same quarter of the previous year.
The Company reported its fourth consecutive profitable quarter. For the trailing 12 months ended June 30, 2001, the Company`s net income was $1.2 million, or 27 cents per share, on revenues of $19.7 million, compared to a loss of $464,000, or 13 cents per share, on revenues of $10.6 million in the same period a year earlier.

Ach ja noch was, der Gewinn im letzen Quartal lag bei 14 Cents je Aktie. Ich sehe keinen Grund dafür warum der Gewinn in den nächsten Quartalen geringer ausfallen dürfte. Rechnen wir die 14 Cents hoch auf die nächsten vier Quartale ohne irgendeine Gewinnsteigerung haben wir immerhin einen Gewinn pro Aktie von 56 Cents. Und das bei einem aktuellen Kurs von 2,99 Dollar. Das ergäbe ein lächerliches KGV von unter 6 !

Rick`s Cabaret International, Inc. to Open "Encounters," a New Upscale Couples Club in Houston, on November 17th
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 12, 2001--Rick`s Cabaret International, Inc. (NASDAQ: RICK), the only publicly traded company in the topless entertainment industry and the leading online auctioneer of adult products and memorabilia, has added a new business line: upscale swingers` clubs.
Rick`s will open its first such club, Encounters, on November 17th. Located near the posh Galleria shopping mall in Houston (5718 Fairdale), it has attracted substantial crowds for several pre-launch parties and its owners believe it may become "the" hot nightspot for couples in the south Texas. In addition to the club itself, Encounters will offer customers the chance to stay in touch through www.encountersclub.com, an Internet site complete with interactive forums and online seat-specific reservations.
Eric Langan, President and CEO of Rick`s, said Encounters will normally charge $20 per couple as an entry fee (with tickets $60 to $75 per couple for the opening night party) and will also sell alcoholic beverages. "Swinging has become quite fashionable. We plan to employ the same strategy with Encounters that has been so successful with our Rick`s Cabaret gentlemen`s clubs by creating a comfortable, upscale environment that takes this type of entertainment and relaxation to a higher level than is usually available." He said the nightspot features attractive decor with upholstered chairs and an ambiance conducive to socializing. Only couples or single females will be admitted on Saturday nights. Mr. Langan said the new venture was a response to market research indicating strong growth among couples in purchases of adult videos and other sexual entertainment. The phenomenon of "swinging" or consensual exchanging of partners among married couples or twosomes in relationships has grown in the United States. According to research published by the Society for Human Sexuality, up to 2% of adult couples practice swinging. The research also indicates that 6.7% of couples interviewed "would participate if the opportunity presented itself."

Attorney for Rick`s Cabaret Challenges City of Minneapolis in Its Ongoing Attempts to Shut Topless Nightspot
MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 19, 2001--First Amendment attorney Randall Tigue said today that new attempts by the City of Minneapolis to shut down early morning entertainment at Rick`s Cabaret, a topless nightspot on South Third Street, are "both vindictive and foolish."
"Despite the fact that the city has lost three legal cases on the same issue, it persists in spending taxpayer dollars to try to get the courts to enforce its own version of morality," according to Randall Tigue, the attorney representing Rick`s Cabaret International, Inc., a publicly traded Texas company (NASDAQ: RICK) that operates the upscale night spot. He added: "To try to shut us down, the city has resorted to repealing its own flawed ordinances in a vindictive and foolish attempt to infringe on our rights."
Until its repeal last month, a Minneapolis ordinance allowed central business district nightspots to stay open from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. to provide entertainment but not to serve liquor. The present legal battle stems from an application to operate in the wee hours submitted in December 1998 by Rick`s Cabaret. The city took no action on the application for a year, so the company filed suit in December 1999 challenging both the ordinance and the application process as unconstitutional. It sought damages of more than $1 million in lost revenue.
Attorneys for Rick`s Cabaret obtained a temporary injunction from Hennepin County District Court Judge Marilyn Rosenbaum that permits topless performances to continue until 3 a.m., despite the repeal of the ordinance. The city has now taken the case to the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
"How many times does the city want to get hit over the head with a two-by-four on this same issue before giving up its attempts to regulate the morality of our citizens and visitors?" asked Mr. Tigue. "The city is desperately trying to salvage something from its earlier defeats by appealing to the State Court of Appeals even though it has been told by the courts repeatedly since the 1980s that its laws and administrative policies are unconstitutional."
Mr. Tigue said that in addition to being slapped with an injunction in the initial Rick`s lawsuit for sitting on a license application for over a year, the city has lost two other cases. In Alexander v. Bergquist, decided in 1987, the court declared that the city`s theater and place of entertainment licensing ordinances were unconstitutional because they permitted the city to holdup license applications indefinitely; and in Mga Susu, Inc. v. City of Minneapolis, decided in 1996, the District Court issued an injunction against the city in another licensing application case involving a nude dance club, the 418 Club.

Rick`s Cabaret International, Inc. Reports Record Revenue and Income in Fiscal 2001 for its Topless Clubs and Adult Internet Sites
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 18, 2001--Rick`s Cabaret International, Inc. (NASDAQ: RICK) today reported record net income of $1.3 million with earnings of 30 cents per share for the fiscal year ending September 30, compared to $202,587 and five cents in the previous year. Revenue reached a record total of $19.7 million for the year, a 54 percent increase over the $12.7 million reported in fiscal 2000.
Revenue for the fourth quarter ending September 30, 2001 was $4.1 million, approximately equal to the previous year, while net income was $303,000, compared to $159,000 in the same period last year, with earnings of seven cents per share compared with four cents.
Rick`s Cabaret operates upscale gentlemen`s clubs and has developed adult Websites and a network of six Internet auction sites for adult products and erotica.
"Our revenue growth and dramatic net income increase from the previous year confirm our strategy of offering high quality, upscale adult entertainment through facilities and Websites that have proved resilient so far in this economic environment," according to Eric S. Langan, President and CEO of Rick`s Cabaret. The Rick`s Cabaret nightclub business generated $12.8 million in revenue and had income from operations of $1.5 million in fiscal 2001, compared with $11.2 million and $1.2 million respectively in the previous year. Internet revenue rose to $6.8 million from $1.6 million, with operating income rising to $649,887 from a loss of $308,210 in the previous year. Corporate costs for the year were $664,567 compared with $698,626 in the previous year.
The company had working capital of $501,256 at September 30, 2001, compared to a working capital deficit of $133,686 at September 30, 2000. Net cash provided by operating activities in the fiscal year just ended was $2,169,490 compared to $774,077 for the previous year. The increase in cash provided by operating activities was due to a significant profit before depreciation in fiscal 2001. The company also implemented a stock buy back program in fiscal 2001, purchasing 30,700 shares on the open market for $73,619.

P.S.: Ich würde die Aktie eher in den Staaten ordern bzw. nur streng limitiert in Deutschland. Wenn ich mich nicht täusche gab es hier überhaupt noch keine Umsätze. Mal sehen, vielleicht änderts sich das ja bald....
Oops, bei nochmaliger Betrachtung des Charts muss ich eine kleine Korrektur anbringen. Das Kursplus seit Jahresanfang beträgt nicht 120 sondern sogar 230 Prozent...
Und noch was: Die Umsätze des letzten Quartals im Vorjahr waren ungefähr gleich, der Gewinn ist jedoch deutlich gestiegen. Das ist besonders positiv da das letzte Quartal mit Sicherheit durch die Attentate stark negativ beeinflusst war. Die Nachtclubs waren in den Tagen nach dem Attentat sicher fast leer..., die Webseiten weniger frequentiert.
Aber lest Euch den Bericht selber genau durch, Ihr werdet darin noch einiges positives finden...

Hier noch der 6-Monats-Chart. Charttechnisch dürfte es auch bald interessant werden, da wir kurz vor einem Ausbruch über das Jahreshoch stehen... Gestern war die Aktie bereits in der Spitze bei 3,5 Dollar!
