und die zusammenarbeit mit porsche sollte auch noch früchte tragen, obwohl ich mir nicht sicher bin, was ich von der neuen banane halten soll.
ist aber auf jeden fall ein schritt in die richtige richtung, wenn auch gewöhnungsbedürftig. aber das wird schon noch ...

das einzige, was mich bei den empfehlungen wundert ist, dass sie erst jetzt kommen.

beobachte die schon seit fast einem jahr, bin aber nicht drin , weil ich nicht erwartet hatte, dass sie so gut performen.

gefällt mir sehr gut, besonders die Maschinen. Hätte ich damals, als ich vor rd. 10 Jahren meine Liebe zu HD entdeckt habe nur Aktien von denen gekauft, und sonst nichts gemacht, ging`s mir heute besser.

Bin erst kürzlich durch den " Spiegel " auf die Unternehmensentwicklung aufmerksam geworden. Das hört sich alles saugut an!.

JLL, das " hätte, sollte, müsste " ist allzu konjunktiv-lastig. Forget it !

Viel mehr ist zu überlegen, ob man da jetzt noch einsteigt, bei der zu erwartenden Seitwärtsbewegung der Techs. Ich denke, es lohnt. 55 Euro ist ne Menge Holz.....aber SAP schmeisst 150..........so what??

Hey Rotsch,

habe es erst jetzt geschafft, mir Deinen Thread anzusehen...

Ging aber nur über Deinen User-Namen und Deine Threads.

Wenn ich mich recht erinnere, haben diese großen Bikes auch Boxen rechts und links der Hinterräder.

Daher hoffe ich für dieses Unternehmen, dass die Inhalte derselben bereits fertig entwickelt sind und dem neuesten Stand der Technik entsprechen.
Zudem wäre es zu begrüßen, wenn die Auslieferung sich nicht um Jahre verzögert, wie es bei den übrigen Firmen an der Tagesordnung ist.

Aber davon abgesehen: Der Name Harley Davidson ist kein schlechter für einen Set-Top-Boxen-Entwickler.
Kommt mir auch irgendwie bekannt vor. - Ist eingängig.

Harley-Davidson, Inc. Reports Record Third Quarter; Remains Confident Of
Long-Term Growth

MILWAUKEE, Oct. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Harley-Davidson, Inc. (NYSE: HDI - news) today announced record sales and
earnings for its third quarter ended September 23, 2001. The Company`s third quarter sales were $850.8 million, an increase of
19.1 percent over the third quarter last year. Diluted earnings per share were 36 cents, a 34.9 percent increase compared with last
year.

``For the first few days following the tragedies of September 11, many of our U.S. Harley-Davidson dealers reported a slowdown
in retail activities,`` said Jeffrey L. Bleustein, chairman and chief executive officer of Harley-Davidson, Inc. ``This was particularly
noticeable in areas around New York City and Washington D.C. As time progressed, however, it appears as if aggregate retail
activity has returned to expected levels for this time of year.

``We remain confident in the continued long-term growth of Harley-Davidson,`` said Bleustein. ``In fact, we are increasing our
2001 production target for Harley-Davidson® motorcycles from 231,000 to 232,500. At the same time, we continue to carefully
watch our internal and external indicators as well as world events so that we can best manage our business through these
challenging times.`` As previously reported, the Company has a 2002 goal of 256,000 Harley-Davidson units which represents a
10.1 percent increase over the new 2001 goal.

Motorcycles and Related Products Segment - Third Quarter Results

Third quarter sales of Harley-Davidson motorcycles were $638.2 million, an increase of 20.8 percent over the third quarter last
year. Shipments totaled 56,611 units, up 8,534 units or 17.8 percent over the same period.

Sales of Parts and Accessories (P&A), which consist of Genuine Motor Parts and Genuine Motor Accessories, totaled $150.2
million, a 12.6 percent increase from the year-ago quarter. Third quarter sales of General Merchandise, which consist of
MotorClothes(TM) apparel and collectibles, totaled $44.1 million, a 7.0 percent increase over the same period last year. On a
longer-term basis, the Company expects the growth rate for P&A revenues to be slightly higher than Harley-Davidson`s
motorcycle unit growth rate. The General Merchandise growth rate is expected to be lower than the motorcycle unit growth rate
over the long term.

Third quarter gross margin was 35.5 percent of revenue, up from 33.6 percent of revenue for the same period last year. Gross
margin improved primarily due to favorable product mix, worldwide price increases and a higher percentage of U.S. shipments.

Third quarter operating margin for the Motorcycles and Related Products Segment was 18.3 percent of revenue, an improvement on last year`s third quarter margin
of 16.3 percent. The increase in gross margin drove the corresponding increase in operating margin.

Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Retail Data

Harley-Davidson retail sales through September grew in the U.S. and in Japan, up 14.9 and 7.5 percent, respectively compared to the same period last year.
Harley-Davidson retail sales in Europe are down 4.3 percent through September compared with the year ago period. The Company believes the strong U.S. dollar
is contributing to slower Harley-Davidson sales in Europe. ``While our retail sales in Europe lagged behind the heavyweight motorcycle industry through August, we
are confident that our improving distribution, new product offerings and brand development activities will have a positive impact on our longer term success in this
market,`` said Bleustein.

Financial Services Segment - Third Quarter Results

Harley-Davidson Financial Services, Inc. (HDFS), a subsidiary of Harley-Davidson, Inc., reported third quarter operating income of $16.2 million, a $6.6 million
increase compared to the year-ago quarter. The subsidiary continues to benefit from the increase in Harley-Davidson`s U.S. motorcycle sales, strong acceptance of
its improved consumer financing program and decreasing cost of funds due to lower interest rates. HDFS also completed a $400 million asset-backed securitization
during the quarter. The Company expects HDFS`s full year 2001 operating income to be approximately 60 percent higher than 2000 performance.

Harley-Davidson Share Repurchase

During the third quarter, Harley-Davidson repurchased approximately 2.2 million shares of its common stock.

Harley-Davidson, Inc. - Nine Month Results

For the nine month period ended September 23, 2001, sales totaled $2.47 billion, a 14.8 percent increase over the year-ago period. Diluted earnings per share
were $1.04, an increase of 26.4 percent. When the sale of the Harley-Davidson® Chrome VISA® card in first quarter 2000 is excluded, diluted earnings per share
increased 29.9 percent.

Through the first nine months of this year, Harley-Davidson® motorcycle revenue was $1.91 billion, a 16.2 percent increase.

For the first nine months of the year, shipments of Harley-Davidson motorcycles were 170,926, a 13.6 percent increase.

For the first nine months of 2001, P&A revenue totaled $396.5 million, a 13.5 percent increase compared with the same period in 2000, while General Merchandise
revenue totaled $116.4 million, a 5.1 percent increase.

Through the first nine months of 2001, HDFS operating income was $44.3 million, an 82.9 percent increase over last year.

Hallo Freunde des Heavy Metals aus Milwaukee!

Hier eine Information vom shop floor meines Lieblingsdealers:

Die V-Rod, welche gerade vorgestellt wurde ist bis zum Produktionsmaximum bis 2003 ausverkauft, sagt mein Authorized Dealer.



Persönlich finde ich das Teil grottenhäßlich, der Lenkeraufbau ist unschön, Wasserkühlung und 60°-Zylinder gibt`s auch bei Reiskochern,
und da wo man den Tank vermutet sitzt der Luftfilter (zum Tanken muß man den Sitz hochklappen, höhö).

Aber das zählt nicht, die Zielgruppe sind Leute die schon einen silbernen Porsche in der Garage haben - und davon gibt`s genug.

2003 ist zufälligerweise auch 100 Jahrfeier des Bestehens dieser wunderbaren Motorradschmiede, und die Centennial Edition bestimmter Modelle,
z.B. der Fat Boy ist derzeit auch schon ausverkauft, obwohl noch keiner weiß wie die Dinger aussehen. Das sagt zumindest mein Authorized Dealer.

Zugegeben, die Qualität und Auslastung einer Firma hat zwar erfahrungsgemäß nix mit dem Aktienkurs zu tun,
aber daß Produktionsteile einer Moppedschmiede inzwischen auf Jahre (!!) verkauft sind, sollte doch dem Kurs mittelfristig guttun, oder ??

Sobald der Kurs mal wieder bei 55 Oiro ist, stocke ich auf, und zu Weihnachten habe ich mir folgende Schönheit gegönnt, `ne 62 FL:

Ich empfahl die hdi schon vor Monaten zum Kauf.
Einer der wohl besten Aktien der Welt. Als solche wird sie immerwieder in diversen Publicationen dargestellt.

Wie vor Monaten dargestellt, Aktien kaufen und in einem Jahr aus den Gewinnen ne Harley. Gut, zugegeben, in diesem Jahr reichts nur für ne Suzi...aber die fahr ich jetzt!

Immer noch long? Das will ich doch meinen..

Zur Belohnung gibt´s getz erstmal was Cooles zum Anschauen.



Der Chart ist so einmalig, da fällt mir nix mehr zu ein. Ausser, dass Kasse zu machen und auf tiefere Wiedereinstiegskurse zu warten, m.E. wenig Sinn macht, obwohl wir gerade den Aufwärtstrendkanal seit Sept. zum ersten Mal nach unten durchbrochen haben. Ich erwarte aber keinen grossen Pullback. Logisch, dass die Hightechs z.Z. anfangen zu laufen, und etwas umgeschichtet wird. Aber das tut der Kursentwicklung von HDI keinen Abbruch. Ab Feb. gehts dann weiter gen Norden.

Habe mal überlegt, warum sich HD über so lange Zeit behaupten konnte, und was sie von anderen Lifestyle-Produkten so unterscheidet.
Ich glaube, es ist die Philosophie der Company, die eine gewisse Klientel generationsüberschreitend fasziniert und eint.
Joop, Gucci, Porsche, Wempe, Bungee-Springen, Hip-Hop, Anglizismen.....alles nicht von Dauer. Lifestyle ist eben nicht = Lifestyle im eigentlichen Sinne. Hat nix mit Kohle zu tun und schon garnicht mit Modeerscheinung.

Die 99 Jahre alte Firma Harley Davidson Inc. (NYSE: HDI) wurde kürzlich vom US-Magazin FORBES zur ``Firma des Jahres`` gekürt. Verantwortlich hierfür waren ein Umsatzplus von 15 Prozent, eine Gewinnsteigerung von 26 Prozent sowie ein Aktienplus von 40 Prozent. Seitdem Harley Davidson 1985 an die Börse ging, schoss der Aktienkurs der Unternehmung, zu deren Kunden großteils in Leder gehüllte bärtige Typen zählen, um 15.000 Prozent in die Höhe. So konnten Intel mit einem Plus von 7.200 Prozent oder General Electric mit einer Steigerung um 1.056 Prozent im Vergleichszeitraum nur am Auspuff schnuppern.

Während die amerikanische Auto-Industrie tausende Mitarbeiter auf die Straße setzen und ihre Fahrzeuge nur mit Sonderrabatten absetzen können, konnte der Milwaukee-Mythos im Rezessionsjahr seine Produktion ausweiten, 500 neue Jobs schaffen und darüber hinaus die Preise erhöhen.

Am Donnerstag verkündete Harley-Chef Jeff Bleustein die Zahlen für das vierte Quartal 2001. Erneut gab es einen Gewinn von 118 Mio. USD oder 39 Cent pro Aktie. Wieder wurden die hochgestecken Erwartungen der Analysten übertroffen, die im Schnitt nur mit 37 Cent gerechnet hatten.

Nun plant das Unternehmen auch die europäischen Straßen stärker zu befahren und die vorherrschenden Marken BMW und Suzuki in ihrer Dominanz einzuschränken. Harley will seinen Marktanteil von sechs Prozent verdoppeln. Dies dürfte sich jedoch als schwierig erweisen, da die Verkaufszahlen für schwere Motorräder in Europa jährlich nur um bescheidene fünf Prozent zunehmen. Im Schlüsselmarkt Deutschland sind die Verkaufszahlen sogar rückläufig.

Über drei Viertel der Bikes landen auf dem heimischen US-Markt. Hier hält Harley einen Marktanteil von 26 Prozent. Doch die japanische Konkurrenz drängt mit Macht auf den amerikanischen Markt, wo sie wohl nur durch das Traditionssenken der Amis gestoppt werden kann. Im nächsten Jahr wird Harley anlässlich des 100. Geburtstags Sondereditionen der klassischen Bikes auf den Markt bringen. Von den Jubiläumsrädern erwartet sich das Unternehmen einen deutlichen Umsatzschub.

Die ``Biker``-Aktie stieg zuletzt um 1,69 Prozent oder 90 Cent auf 54,30 USD.

aber ein interessantes unternehmen langfristig gesehen
