Paravant Inc. Receives $2 Million Handheld Computer Contract

MORRISTOWN, N.J., Aug. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Paravant Inc. (Nasdaq: PVAT) announced today that its Paravant Computer Systems (PCS) division has received a follow-on contract in excess of $2.0 Million for rugged handheld computers in support of US Army C4I digitization efforts. This contract is a follow-on to an order that was announced on May 2, 2001 for $1.5 million. The company said that deliveries for the contracts are scheduled to begin in December 2001 and run through the third quarter of fiscal year 2002. The Paravant RHC-2000 handheld computer will be fielded in a US Army C4I program in support of tactical communications and for data loading of mission profiles. The RHC-2000 is a 206 MHz military computer that combines compact size, low weight, robust performance and long battery life. It allows for both touch-screen and keypad soldier input, is sunlight readable, and is fully ruggedized to withstand the rigors of the dismounted soldier environment.

MORRISTOWN, N.J., Oct. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Paravant Inc. (Nasdaq: PVAT) announced today that the Department of the Air Force issued an order valued at $1.268 million to its wholly owned Engineering Development Labs, Inc. (EDL) subsidiary. Under the terms of this firm, fixed-price contract agreement EDL will perform a variety of software tasks for the USAF H-60 helicopters. The company expects the contract to be fulfilled over the course of the next 12 months.

EDL subsidiary President Brian Kirby said, "We are pleased that the Air Force has chosen to exercise this option for continued software improvements to the HH-60G. The HH-60G Combat Search and Rescue community plays an important role in the U.S. military and we are proud to support them in their modernization and digital battlefield integration activities."

This order is related to the Air Combat Command (ACC) HH-60G helicopter software Block Cycle Change program. This is the second major Block Cycle Change with EDL serving as the primary systems and software integrator.
